that's new drilling. that's up. but the production is also up. it's at an all-time high. >> president biden is allowing drilling on federal lands but it makes way fewer acres for drilling and increases royalties oil and gas companies have to pay. that's part of the reason republicans don't buy that the administration is doing everything it can to lower prices at the pump. >> this administration is completely out of touch with the american people and out of touch with the pain that the american people are suffering on a daily basis as they can no longer afford to fill the tank. >> secretary holland also told the senate committee the interior department will release a new five-year plan for offshore drilling by the end of june. there will be a gap between the current plan and the new plan.

administration protecting citizens all across the border in multiple states, judge? >> well, i think it's safe to say most americans, including myself, feel that we have a situation that needs to be fixed. for the longest time congress and the executive branch has not gotten together. if you look at our immigration laws, so they can fit our current need for workers. as that continues, then the only choice that we have is enforcement approach to this immigration issue. i think it will take more than enforcement to cure the problem. i want my president to provide leadership and work with the legislative branch and solve this problem. >> dagen: judge, describe the situation in your county specifically right now even before title 42 is rescinded. >> well, you know, we have

immigrants crossing, as you can see here, the rio grande every day in different areas and volumes. it is a way of life for us. it has been happening for years and years. when president reagan was in office he gave amnesty to a lot of immigrants that came here legally. the best solution was to do that. congress never fixed the law. it caused the problem of having the illegals continue since 1986. so we continue to see this. now when you add the asylum seekers, so you add another wave of immigrants coming here and we have a capacity issue. we can simply not allow everyone that's having problems throughout world to come to the united states. that's what i believe. so if we don't have a capacity issue, then the proper people to solve it is congress along with our president. but our president needs to provide leadership to do that.
