who dislike trump. jim jordan and jim banks were sphossed to be on this committee. they were appointed by mccarthy and pelosi rejected them. the other person who produced this production is the same person who spiked this epstein story. then they ignored some of the key facts. they didn't tell the story of how donald trump approved 20,000 national guard troops on januar. and once the president calls up the troops, then that action goes to nancy pelosi, the sergeant of arms and the mayor of d.c. and they have to put those troops into place and they did not do that in fact, the mayor denied the national guard in a written refusal. that was never talked about. why weren't the troops there to protect the capitol? if they had been there, would they -- would all of these people outside been able to storm the capitol? look, we don't approve of them storming the capitol. we don't approve of this violence but a few bad apples do not reflect the entire party. >> brian: they are trying to prove in my humble opinion that donald trump was behind a plot to take over the capitol.

we will see what happens. speaking of big names on capitol hill. the supreme court justice is under siege right now. we saw the attempted attack on the life of justice kavanaugh after what was done to him at his confirmation hearings. then you saw a protest right outside of justice kavanaugh's house right after that. and then yesterday, last night, a protest outside the home of amy coney barrett. now, none of these protests are technically legal according to federal law. intimidation of justices. yet, political leadership on capitol hill continues to insist all is fine. these justices are protected. even when asked about what additional steps could be taken. here's nancy pelosi in her weekly press conference insisting everything is fine. >> you said that justices are protected but there was an attempt on justice kavanaugh's life. >> it's protected. the protests are protected. it's not about the justices.

is up. >> i think it's ridiculous his policies are the reason for crime. he comes in office and implements new policies and crime has gone through the roof. there is audiotapes of inmates saying they want to get his name tattooed on his forehead head. they rear to him as the champ. he is the champ to criminals they are toasting him in jail. is he releasing all these violent offenders early or with no bail and then he want to blame old policies for the increase in violence? i think he is backed into a corner. he knows he is going to get recalled and he is doing everything he can to point the finger somewhere else instead of taking responsibility. >> pete: he is backed into a corner. is he blaming everybody else. will it work? do the citizens of los angeles recognize that letting criminals out of jail or giving them soft

sentences is the reason why crime is up? >> i think they are beginning to realize. because it's not just in certain areas. in every city crime is increasing. and if you want to look at the actual way that george gascon's policies implement, the way we charge crimes, he doesn't allow us to charge robbery. he wants us to charge theft and battery instead of robbery. he mandates the lowest possible charge. he wants them released without bail. and now you see follow home robberies nice communities like beverly hills in the suburbs. crimes you saw in different communities are now everywhere in los angeles county. >> pete: shay, what's it like to do your job in that environment? you took the job because you wanted to make the community safe. and, yet, the d.a. is letting criminals out. >> it's extremely frustrating.

and morale is down in the office, generally. it's just hard to do our job because as soon as we catch a perpetrator, we have to release them. and then they come back with a new crime. and george gascon will not let us increase the punishment or even allege a special allegation that they committed another crime while out on bond or o.r. release. so they -- or punish them for not coming to court. and the criminals for this. they are not stupid. so, why come to court? you are not going to be punished. and while you are out on bond or o.r., why not commit more crimes? because you are not going to be punished. and if you do get caught, you are going to get a life sentence, and, you know, george gascon will be your champ. he is in your corner. not the victims and not the people and not for public safety. >> pete: the champ of the criminals not the law-abiding citizen. if what happened in san francisco is a precursor of los angeles, hopefully this reign of
