it was the china virus that you don't want to investigate that caused that. and if you look at where it happened, most of them were blue states that overcorrected for the pandemic and would not open up and you would not pressure them to open up schools and open up jobs. can you imagine if joe manchin and kyrsten sinema did not push back if he got his way, he would have had a $5 trillion build back better plan on top of this. and we would never have recovered. and i believe with this whole anger thing, when he perceives himself getting in front of blue collar workers. he thinks they sit around wearing hard hats yelling at each other like some sitcom. that's not the way everybody talks. they are the most affected by the joe biden economy and the least ones to be deceived by what he -- how he explains it away. and when he talks about oil and gas, he wrote a letter -- blaming the oil and gas companies, wall street, billionaires for getting rich. that is like an old tune that

nobody wants to hear anymore. very intriguing letter he wrote to the oil companies and to one in particular where he says, listen, when gas -- when a barrel of oil, when a barrel of oil is $120 each last time, gas was $4.25. what's the big difference? drum roll, please? refinery capacity. he says because refinery capacity decreased and we have not built refineries, these are my words not his since the 1970s. we cannot refine at a pace to keep up with demand. so what is he saying? he is saying that the profits are going to refineries because they can't pick up the pace because there aren't new plants. i don't even know the point of the letter. >> ainsley: the reason when you pull up to the gas station and you see those prices, you blame joe biden. >> brian: he blames putin. >> ainsley: prices were going up even before the invasion. >> brian: of course. >> ainsley: even though it did increase our prices the wages are not keeping up with the cost

the unions. what we have is the biden administration going to the establishment groups in order to basically get yes people. there are some nice groups in there, special e.p.a. groups. for the most part they are establishment groups. the biden administration [inaudible] just desperate. >> brian: trying to say there is a dialogue there. making a subset of this parent's group not necessarily getting diversity of opinions, you don't think? >> exactly. like i have been one of the leaders here with amazing brave families from china and india that are here in northern virginia but in new york city, california, they led the recall of the board members that were so corrupt. not a single asian group. do you know what else, brian? this is what we got, right, from my show and tell i'm going to show you. you have seen woke baby. but now what we have is as you guys have shown very well on your segment biary.

to pump things up. i wouldn't say we have had a housing bubble. we had more of a boom than a bubble. but if you continue to push up prices you end up getting a bubble and bubbles burst. what is happening now is actually healthy. >> ainsley: look at the map of ten cities sees prices fall toledo, ohio number one with 18.7% fall. richmond, virginia number 10 saw 3.4% fall. you think that's healthy? >> it's healthy in the long run. if you are a first time home buyer and first time home buyers are vital to the fulfillment of the american dream they were getting edged out of the market because there were so many of them. >> ainsley: we saw that in florida. >> it was insanity. still almost insanity down there because there was nothing on the market. the thing to remember what really caused all of this hysteria in housing was there was a record low amount of houses on the market. less than three month supply of housing in the peak home purchasing season last year. this time last year it was two month supply.

if you go back to before the financial crisis there was a year -- almost a year and a half worth of supply. >> ainsley: is that why we are seeing real estate firms laying off. compass laying off 450 employees. red findlaying off 470 employees. >> there was a time last year you would see these firms bulking up for continued growth. growth is going to slow down that they are starting to lay off. >> where do they go now though? >> you know what's interesting about brokers. many of the people who were leaving, this was their second career or third career. they said my next door neighbor became a broker he or she is making all this money. i'm going to try it, too. finding a lot of transitional folks in the industry are just walking away from it. >> ainsley: what do you expect with interest rates? how high will they go? >> i think interest rates are probably going to end the year around a point higher than they

family and freedom and to earning the opportunity to serve our community further in the months to come. meanwhile a big win for trump in south carolina. ousting the first house republican who voted to impeach is candidate russell fry roasting five term congressman tom rice. you see here by more than 25 points, but the other high profile target of the former president representative nancy mace held on in the low country defeating challenger katie arrington. afterwards trump congratulate the mayes and predicted her victory in november. former will attorney general adam laxalt defeating sam brown laxalt looking forward to november. watch. >> these policies brought on by radical elites are not just a product of joe biden though he has served as a useful punt. this election is going to be a referendum on senator masto and all of these elites who look

2020. something i'm going to be working on starting today, making sure that everyone that is welcome in our campaign. we want their help. we want their support. we're going to earn that support by working hard in november. >> steve: sure. it griff jenkins just referred to a tweet that elon musk put out where he congratulated the woman that he voted for down in texas. she won. became the first mexican-born congresswoman he tagged that with he predicts a big massive red wave in 2022. i know you would benefit from that when you look at all the data it seems to support what he is going for. >> it really truly does. look at double digital inflation over the last 90 days. when you look at the cost of gas and rising cost of gas is going continue to crease grocery store prices which are already record high. when you look at what is happening with rates probably today in the housing market.

look at what is going on at the border and how we exited afghanistan. it's been a disaster in joe biden's administration in just the first year and a half. you will see a lot of voters, particularly independence and moderates crossing over and voting for republicans. and i'm really excited about that. i'm excited about talking about the issues and providing solutions to so many problems our nation is facing. >> brian: congresswoman, with your primary victory yesterday, of course you know what happened in the house. you still have a full time job regardless of how that came out. for some reason there was about a two-week delay after the senate sent over on 100 to nothing vote, a need for emergency protection for supreme court justices. nancy pelosi says i want everyone covered. i want the clerks covered. i want all judges covered. finally they realize that you had wasn't practical. 27 democrats went against protecting supreme court justices while about four or five of them have protests raging at their house and it awould-be assassin showed up at

kavanaugh's house. what about those 27 who said let's not support this? >> it's insane but it's also probably the same 27 that want to defund the police. but it's unbelievable that they did not want to protect a third ranch of government. the judicial branch. it's illegal actually to show up at the justices' homes and protest. as you said someone who showed up last weekend to justice kavanaugh's home trying to assassinate him was armed and dangerous. this is not where we should be going in this country. we have had a lot of violence over the last two years by antifa and anarchists and you have seen chuck schumer and others ramping up the rhetoric and encourage this sort of thing. you have a president who will not tamp it down. it's a huge issue but we have got make sure that our justices are protected. that our law enforcement not just on the hill but everywhere across the country that they are fully funded. and they have the resources they need to keep our community safe. everybody safe.

>> ainsley: the security for the justice includes their immediate family, too. they will get 24 hour protection. you mentioned progressives. they voted against it 2 # dems voted against it on that list you have cori bush, pra mill da jayapal, ayanna pressley, rashida tlaib and maxine waters just to name a few. did they do it because everyone covered or because they don't want the supreme court justices to be covered at all. >> i don't think they want them covered at all. you talk about cori bush. i don't think she wants the police to have any funding. that is where they draw from their ideology. it's just wrong. and sometimes some of these folks are just doing it to be social media influencers and get headlines and that sort of thing. it is making our country unsafe. it's making our justices unsafe and we can do better. >> ainsley: these are lives that we are talking about. we saw what happened to brett kavanaugh's neighborhood. this guy came with a a glock.

i had someone come on to my property on to my home last summer spray painted it. and i had to look over my shoulder for months afterwards. i was so freaked out after it. it does happen and it's scary and scary for their families. like i do i have two teenage kids. it's not okay. we need to hold people accountable for the violence they are creating in this country. >> steve: the news this morning about the would-be assassin apparently he saw those marshals outside of kavanaugh's house, called his sister and she talked him into calling 911 which he did. before you go, you mentioned mortgage rates a moment ago. i know you have a background in commercial real estate. you know, a lot of people, the american dream is to own a home. 30-year mortgage rate surged to 6.2%. it was 5.5% just a week ago. it went up almost a point in a week. what's going to happen to the american dream? >> it's crazy right now, too.

the housing market obviously is cooling off that will continue to cool off as interest rates go up. we haven't seen this kind of thing in a very lock time. you look at inflation. inflation is a secret form of taxation on the american people. and you are seeing it everywhere that they go. and then we have the federal reserve, which has its own issues. they are printing more money. trillions of dollars. $4 trillion last year over $4 trillion the year before that this is having a huge impact. then you add on the supply chain issues that started during covid-19. added on to when russia invaded ukraine. and it's a scary time right now. and wages are not keeping up with inflation. we are going to continue to see american families and american workers struggle. >> brian: just real quick. just on the donald trump thing. you voted with him almost every step of the way over the course of four years. you fractured over january 6th in a comment made. the fact that he mentioned you in a statement shows, perhaps, in trump world, maybe he will meet you half way. would you reach out? because i know nikki haley

helped fuel your re-election. not there yet but your nomination to get reelected. will you reach out to the former president? >> first of all i want to thank you for mentioning nikki haley. she is a resident here and a constituent and a voter and she has been campaigning with us over the last two days. she has been a good friend, great mentor and a great leader for south carolina and south carolina and our nation. i'm willing to work with anyone who will work with me. i welcome the former president's comments last night. everyone across the political spectrum who supported our campaign and support it going forward in november because republicans have to unite if we are going to get a majority. i know that better than anyone i'm sitting in a swing district right now here in charleston, south carolina as do all the republicans sitting in swing districts. we are going to work hard and fight hard for november. >> ainsley: tim scott is in that area too senator from south carolina running unopposed. congratulations on your engagement and your win. >> thank you.

♪ >> ainsley: health experts are sounds the alarm that covid restrictions might have weakened immune systems causing children to get infected with three or four viruses all at once. dr. marty makary joins us now. good morning, doctor. >> good morning. >> ainsley: good morning. why is this? you are seeing three viruses in some of these children? >> that's right, ainsley. we are seeing cases now across the country where kids are coming in with any one of six or seven common respiratory viruses rsv infection is typical in the winter season but seeing it now in the summer and we are not exactly sure why. there is two theories one is that kids have been living in a bubble. not exposed to viral pathogens and gotten:symptomatic low level immunity you get from the sort of the day to day exposure other theory is that the viruses interact with one another that having one virus like influenza or rsv may predispose you to add

recommendations do you get them vaccinated if they do pass this. >> if a child has a special medical condition, those are the ones that show it. they come to the hospital with covid, a healthy child is not compelling. certainly a quid a medical condition that does not have healthy immunity. fda taking shattered reputation with the public and making it worse they are doing it today. about to authorize this covid vaccine for 16 million children, 90-plus percent of whom have already had covid based on a small study of kids who did not have covid that was the condition to be in that study. it is ignoring natural immunity is actually having significant implications now and even that small study that showed that it works in kids shows it didn't work very well. as well as 30% effective in the first few months and that goes down the drain after a few months. >> ainsley: a lot of parents outer there say i hope they

don't approve this because i don't want to get my 4-year-old vaccinated. we are worried that my 4-year-old school or preschool might say you are going to have to be vaccinated. do you think that schools will mandate this if they approve it today? >> some schools will there is tremendous vaccine enthusiasm across the country, even though the data may not be there to support it, people have a distorted perception of risk with covid and children at the policy level, at the fda meeting and at the cdc meetings. they are using data that undercounts the number of cases out there in children which makes the case fatality rate look more dangerous than it really is. and they undercount adverse effects from covid vaccination which makes the vaccine look safer than it really is they are not using great ubs in. in fact the fda even said yesterday at the meeting we are extrapolating data from adults. >> ainsley: that's infuriating. >> yeah. a lot of people are upset about that and they have a right to be. >> ainsley: dr. makary, thank you so much for coming on. when will we find out if they

is that they want to talk about in this world of ideas. but they will not allow u.s. government officials or offices to do the same thing in chinese territory. >> brian: what do you plan on doing now? are you going to have to offer this forward? you have jim banks on it with you. who else -- anybody on the democratic side getting behind this? >> so you have a number of people on the china task force, the china commissions that are looking at this that agree with this. everybody agrees that this is a problem. i think this ultimately will be a bipartisan resolution because people recognize the problem with chinese propaganda coming in here and, you know, working in places like not just the nba but on these social media platforms as well to say they are going to get all the support for covering up their enslavement of uyghur muslims. everything else that they are doing. u.s. officials are not going to talk in china anything about what's going bad in hong kong with their enslavement, with their reindoctrination of their population. they are not going to allow that to be talked about. >> brian: right. so over the last week.

the chinese are saying hey, america, you better stop trying to form this southeast asia nato and, by the way, back away from taiwan or you are going to pay the price while rolling out a brand new aircraft carrier are we sending the right message in return. >> we would love to send that message u.s. style government vs. china style government. that message will not get there because china will not let that message in on their social media platforms. you think here in the united states how much news and information is consumed via social media platforms it's a huge amount. so they are getting theirs out here. we are not getting being able to get ours out there. >> brian: last question. just about what is happening in ukraine. they are not having success holding back the russians from taking the east. what can we do there to rush weapons forward? big story in politico today we paid for it but it's not getting to the ukrainian forces fast enough. >> yeah.

steve, ainsley and brian. >> steve: all right griff thank you very much. so in south carolina it was interesting. it really was, in that particular race with nancy mace and indicating arrington it was a proxy battle between nikki haley, who supported nancy mace, and president trump who was behind katie arrington. ultimately, you know, as you can see right there, mace won with over 53% of the vote and she's going to go on to the general election. initially, mace angered president trump by saying president trump's entire legacy was wiped out by january 6th but ultimately at the end of last night, after it was clear she was going to be the nominee for the republican party, mr. trump suggested, you know, go ahead and vote for her because that's the best way to keep that red wave moving across the country. >> ainsley: a lot of people in the diners were saying both were great candidates they just want a republican to win not a democrat and the president said nancy mace will easily defeat the democrat opponent.

she has an interesting story from goose creek south carolina. she dropped out of high school and her parents said if you're not going to school you have to work. so she got a job at waffle house then went back and earned her high school degree and took classes at trident a technical college in charleston and then applied to the citadel which was all men and people complained and so they allowed women to join. she graduated mag nah consume loudy from citadel and now a congresswoman. >> yeah, trump said katie arrington was a long shot ran a great race and overperformed. congrats to nancy mace who should be able to defeat the democrat opponent. here's what she said to us an hour ago. >> we pulled out a win last night decisive eight points, an exciting night. we want to get an overwhelming majority in november and that means we all have to unite behind every single republican nominee that won last night. and i don't think it's going to

presidency. in 2024 according to the richest man on earth >> ainsley: pretty good endorsement. how about what's happening in south texas. mayra flores she ran in a latino district, she's a republican, also married to a border agent. this is that special election the congresswoman left and then she, this is a special election, she'll be the congresswoman representing that area just until november and then there will be another race. but she flipped that blue seat red, she's the first mexican born congresswoman that we've everyone had, the first republican to represent the rgv area. she immigrated to the u.s. she was a child in mexico and then her parents moved here to be migrant farm workers in texas and now she is a congresswoman. it's incredible what america can do for your family. >> brian: right. so the big primary season is underway, a lot of intrigue there, you just heard a little bit of it. president trump on his backed voters, over 115 of trump's picks win, a lot ran unopposed, a lot intriguing races, the biggest of course is probably dr. oz and jd vance so we'll

work. we still have not recovered from that. and on the bipartisan infrastructure plan which got its merit but also added to the deficit to the tune of $256 billion. don't keep saying you cut the deficit. it's only compared to the amount of money we put in because of the pandemic. just like you added eight million jobs. no. people are on the shelf because they were told to stay home. they got back into the work force. you can't take credit for that. >> steve: well, in addition to saying he's changing people's lives, he also said that inflation is worse elsewhere and that simply is not true. actually, the united states inflation rate is higher than the euro zone. remember last week, the number came out here in the united states, it was 8.16. in the euro zone, 8.1 %. until south korea it was 5.4. australia 5%, canada 6.8. while the president can say you're lucky to live here in the united states where inflation's not that bad compared to the rest of the world, look at

i salute parents to go to school boards and do what they can. if you're fighting against the school and try to undo it, why do you want that as a parent. so yes school choice and things like that are good but what charlie is doing is an alternate p ecosystem, it's more affordable, i'm sure there will be scholarships. not elite schools of new york where you pay 60 grand a year. if you save and sacrifice you can do this for your kids. >> ainsley: charlie are you thinking about that making sure the tuition's not too expensive for parents who don't like the public education to get their kids in these schools. >> we're already raising money for scholarships by public donors we want to make it acceptable for all people. part of the envision is to empower foornts do a hybrid schooling model. thanks to technology we can finally figure out how to entrepreneurially break the back of the public education cartel. i agree we should fight at

claim to speak for hispanics and actual hispanic voters and everyday people are not the same thing. his spat i cans don't want to pay $5 for gas, they don't want violent criminals running the streets, they don't want schools trying to convince their son he's their daughter they're not in favor and it's pronouncing themselves denouncing the party that is responsible for those kinds of policies. >> brian: sure. that particular district, nor, 85% hispanic. and they're right there at the border. so you've got to wonder, was it a myriad of issues as you just detailed or was it, you know, the incountriesable line where everybody's coming across there or was it fentanyl? because the fentanyl is impacting every person in that district. >> yeah. what i think it's about is working class common sense. people that live in the real world and have to deal with the real world consequences of stupid decisions. and so today, i think perhaps for the first time in our history, one of our borders is

no longer controlled by the united states government. it's controlled by a cartel. that's the bottom line. cartels have more power at that border than the united states government does and that's policy by design. when you have an administration that says to people, look, you shouldn't come to america illegally but when you do you're going to get to stay they're going to come. we have car veins of eight nine thousand people to organize laws and challenge and that's on the human front not to mention the drugs, the amount of drugs pouring through that border and killing people across the country is extraordinary. if you can't keep people from crossing the border you can't keep drugs from crossing the border and the people on the border are living with consequences of that. they have to live with the immediate consequences of these crazy insane deranged policy decisions. >> ainsley: senator what's interesting about that south texas race, democrats carried that district by 13 points in 2020 which signals trouble for the democrats in november. let's talk about security for our justices. because when that draft opinion

was leaked, you guys, all the senators voted unanimously to give protection to the juice justices and their immediately families 24 hours a day. that went to the house, nancy pelosi stalled and stalled and stalled, it took weeks to do it, yesterday there was a vote the house did pass it but 27 democrats voted against it many progressive. cory bush, jai a paul, aoc, presley, talib and maxine waters voted against it. did they vote against it because they wanted the staffers and the clerks to also have security and that wasn't in the bill or did they just not want these justices to have security at all? >> yeah, i don't -- look, i'll tell you this much, right? since that opinion was unlawfully leaked, we've had 23 pro life center city in america either fire bombed or vandalized. we had an assassin or would be assassin travel across the country and get to the doorstep of the supreme court justice. if that had been reversed if it

was 23 planned parenthood centers or liberal that was going to be killed that's all we would be covering and we would be having hearings and cnn would produce a 90 minute documentaries of hate in america. so these people are indicative of that craziness, the notion, the political violence is targeted at people we don't like on the other side, then, you know, that's okay. we saw that in the summer of 2020 with the riots, right? when they were burning police cars. these are some of the same people out there demanding the prosecutors not put people in jail and we help raise money to bail out the people who torched police cars or killed people or destroyed property. so it's part of the -- the first question you asked me? hispanic voters have common sense and they see this and say we don't want to be a part of a party that has people like that leading us. >> brian: senator, one real quick question. the disaster of that counsel of americas in los angeles, multiply that by nicaragua now hosting russia fighter jets and

interior east coast. all right. i'm going to send it over to you, steve. >> steve: thank you very much jd. have a great day. >> you too. >> steve: meanwhile high schoolers are in high demand this summer with the unemployment rate for teen-agers near a 70 year low as you can see right there. our next guest is a 16 year old teen-ager who founded teen campus, 'em employing teen-agers and capitalizing on labor shortages because some of these kids make $70 an hour. gabe jaffe joins me screen left along with teen hammonton baby sitter boston. >> good to see you. >> steve: how did you get this idea. >> about a year after the ago stemmed from the fact these kind of services we offer baby-sitting sports services for kids are things everyone needs and wants and providing a central marketplace to find high quality baby sitters and instructors and for clients, instructors to find clients, be a great idea.

>> steve: so in the intro i said that some of these kids are make ping $70 an hour that's more than the plumber down the street from you makes and he's a skilled craftsman. how are you able to charge that when you compare it to professional jobs. >> that's a question we get asked quite often actually and the answer is actually fairly simple. basically we set our prices for our services just like any company sets their price for their market. we look at the landscape did a market analysis and prices are competitive. if you look at the ham tons which is the area we primarily serves, professional tennis lessons or soccer lessons can go for $175 an hour but if you look at $70 an hour it's less than half the price so clients are happy to pay that price. >> steve: are you sure you're only 16. >> yes, last i checked. my mom unless she's lying. >> steve: she's right over here taking pictures. so austin you are a baby sitter. in fact, worked last night as a baby sitter from 4:00 to. >> 9:00. >> steve: and how much did you

make? >> made $175. >> steve: fantastic. of course of that 175 you had to give 25% to the guy who's sitting next to you because that's the way the business works. before this started, you never baby-sat before, did you? >> well, i baby-sat with teen hammonton for a little while now since it started. >> steve: but professionally, no. >> carley: but prior to that, no, not professionally. >> steve: but you've got little kids in your family. >> carley: two little siblings. >> steve: so you knew how to do it by doing that. one of the reasons you were attracted to team hammonton was the fact that a lot of employers during the summer hours, you know, they want you there all day long and for a busy active kid, write your own hours, it's great. >> yep, set my own availability. >> steve: all right. so what has the reaction been to this idea? >> so people love the idea. i mean our clients have loved the prices, i think that the service we're offering is quite unique in that clients can actually interview any instructor baby sitter for free on line before they book them

and that's the thing the clients have loved. i think that the selection of services we offer, we offer lifeguarding, we offer helping with birthday parties. it's more than just baby-sitting and sports lessons, it's something people have really been in a frenzy about and we've been basically booked every day since we began. >> steve: i imagine so because it's about supply and demand. >> yes. >> steve: in your neck of the woods the ham tons there are a lot of people looking for baby sitters or someone to hit the tennis ball with them and stuff like that. >> yes. >> steve: has anybody across the country reached out to you and said hey i'm thinking about doing this in oklahoma or illinois. >> so funny i got an e-mail yesterday and the subject line was teen houston with three question marks and they wanted me to branch out. so it's a an idea, this concept baby-sitting sports lessons can be done anywhere, something that works in any area of the country, something that is always needed so it's something that could be expanded really to any place. >> steve: now you can franchise. all right. to find out more about their services or apply to join their
