the nominee and he's going to be strong. but they know what we know, come on. there is no momentum out there. at the risk of political rigor mortis holds over biden, attentions already turning to the field of the 2024 contenders. first off, kamala harris. if you're doing the pros and cons, the only pro i can think of is that she knows her way around the west bring to my claim. it other than that's, she's been a total bomb. they made heard the de facto border chief them a rumor that? what does she have to show for it? 3 million people have been encountered and apprehended entering the united states illegally from 150 countries. the vice president of course avoids the border subject altogether. refusing to address the huge uptick in the legal border crossers and the number just over the last six months.

the numbers by the way are not slowing down. the first five months of this year alone, more than 1 million people have been encountered or apprehended entering the country illegally. they total more than the individual population of delaware, south dakota, north dakota, alaska, the district of columbia, vermont, and wyoming. well, at this point, how is this called anything but an ongoing invasion of the united states? >> historic numbers here. 239,000, 416 illegal crossings. that's now the highest number in dh as history, 100,699 title 42 expulsions representing only about 42% of the total and there was a staggering 14,699 uncommitted children. up to 21% over april. >> extreme progress was being

made at the border. >> she's honestly useless. i don't know why she's in the position. she hasn't been here in south texas to see. to see what the policies are creating come of the mess that they are creating in our country. their policies are hurting real people. >> laura: our president and vice president, they are all for this. in a sane world, the subversion of our sovereignty would be an impeachable offense, but in kamala land, its ground for a promotion in 2024. we haven't even touched on her extensive gaffes. >> we have to have the ability to address the root causes of why people leave. the root causes are based on the problems and the challenges that people are facing. >> a diplomatic test turn to political. >> her allies in the white house and elsewhere are watching it than just kind of wondering what

critical work of this task force. we will publish an annual report of disinformation and all the information that we gather to further inform our enforcement efforts. >> laura: this includes efforts to police language to effectively insulate political figures and journalists from disinformation, abuse, and harassment. so, biden doj refuses to investigate actual abuse and harassment all across the country. which is clear domestic terrorism, but their pledging money and manpower to criminalize the expression of speech of their political opponents? i have to ask list tonight, you heard merrick garland there. what actually constitutes abuse and harassment? who makes the call? to these people refusing to use i don't know, preferred gender pronouns, that would constitute a hate crime. and again, actual acts of violence against their political

opponents are downplayed or they are just ignored altogether. >> today's epidemic of hate which is fueling violent acts against many communities. we must teach it as it really happened. we can fight ignorance. dispel misinformation. and work toward a future where all people can live without fear. >> laura: live without fear? what kind of utopia she living in? who gets to determine what is and what is not misinformation? that's not the government's role. the first amendment, it sure as heck protects political speech absolutely. hate only cuts one way. in kamala town. without fail, the choice between protecting our freedom and

journalist glenn greenwald, i was watching this announcement unfold today. i could not but help but notice kamala harris, it sounds like the old dhs information board but now it's run out of the white house. what are your thoughts tonight? >> it's bizarre, on the one hand you can market and is the triviality as it is, supposed to be integrated into foreign policy to get her bona fides. going to solve the root cause problems in central america and stem the tide of immigration and all of a sudden she's like a glorified content modifier for twitter to protect "washington post" reporters. on the other hand, it's more menacing than that and i think it's part of the very sustained and systemic attempt on the part of the u.s. government and the democratic party to create regimes of censorship and

information control over the internet the place that we now use most of all to get our information and our globe information. to censor it for their own interests, hate speech, disinformation. the fact they have the entire u.s. security state assembled makes it clear at something more than just kind of a joke or adjuster. >> laura: that was a sign, to have the president there, merrick garland, all these other agency heads including the surgeon general. who popped up at today's press conference as well. watch. >> it could no longer be acceptable for a technology company to put out a product and walk away from the responsibility for how it impacts users and communities. if it can no longer be okay for social media platforms to be fertile grounds for hatred. accountability matters. >> laura: glenn, where is the accountability for those individuals who push the lock downs on kids that went on in some cases for almost two years?

suicide, drug abuse, despair. that was called disinformation a couple of years ago and now it's called truth. who gets to decide all of that? >> this is the critical part where listening to that, if that's incredibly menacing and insidious come at the head attorney general essentially saying, directing private companies, twitter, facebook, google, telling them you're not allowed to air this kind of information that we regard as hateful or we regard -- that's not the government's role. to be in arbitrating our political debates by instructing private companies on what they can and cannot do. this has been the most missed understood and most overlooked component of the big tech censorship which is democrats always say if you complain about censorship, these are private companies and they can do what they want. democrats never thought about private enterprise that way. but the reality is the whole

abused, their families are being abused. it's happening right here in washington, d.c. we are the only two members of congress that have actually been in that disgusting jail and seen the conditions that these people are being held in pretrial before they have been convicted of any crime. >> laura: georgia congressman marjorie taylor greene joins me now. good to see you tonight. what can you tell us about the current state of affairs in the d.c. jail system with a january 6 defendants this moment? >> welcome a laura, unfortunately i can't tell you much because the mayor muriel bowser is refusing to allow me and other republicans to go in unto her the jail. i sent her a letter, i've been to her office, i've called her, we are still getting no response whatsoever. there's many republicans that want to go in and see the conditions of the d.c. jail.

unfortunately, nothing has changed. if these people are being held in the same horrible, disgusting conditions. they are being held under -- on her own twitter account she clearly hates republicans, hates president trump. even hates white men. this is a serious condition. these people, when i saw them and this was months ago, they were unshaven, weren't allowed to shave or get haircuts. they weren't receiving medical treatment. they weren't receiving proper nutrition and there weren't allowed to see their attorney. they had to choose between going outside or calling their families. this is a real human rights abuse, laura. it's a process that's being completely violated, due process rights were violated in it should not be happening in our country. >> laura: shouldn't be happening to anybody. i don't care what your political background is, for whom you voted, what your belief system is. you have the same rights as everybody else. that's what i thought, america

was all about. speaking of january 6, i want to play an exchange that happened between jake tapper of cnn and congressman adam schiff adam schiff. >> justice department officials have been asking the committee to turn over about 1,000 witness transcripts, but the committee has so far refused. why has the committee not cooperated with the justice to apartment? >> we're working with them to make sure they get what they need. consistent with our own investigator needs. >> laura: that was weird, congresswoman. what do you of that? >> that is weird. here's what i make of that, i think they're lying. of making up an entire story and none of it is true. they're lying about trump, all of his staff is lying. now receiving death threats. it you know who they don't interview and they aren't having

transcripts and not showing their interviews, they're not showing ray apps. it why didn't i see him in the d.c. jail when he is one of the people that was clearly part of the effort. another thing i want to know is why don't we find out about why the national guard wasn't brought into guard the capital? that's my 30 day on the job, laura. i couldn't even find the bathrooms of the capitol building because i didn't know my way around. i was shocked when that happened. i don't know why nancy pelosi didn't bring in the capital guard when so many people had requested it. as for adam schiff, he's always creating a story that's not real. we've been through it with the russian hoax. the american people are so sick and tired of it. the american people that pay all of our salaries. they pay for the department of justice. they pay for the court, everyone in congress, they pay for the capitol building. but it's a slap in their faces and at such an insult to think that if you dare go address your

this white house, joe biden has not just saved the u.s. economy, has us humming but what's the reality? second quarter gdp growth will be, wait for it, 0. the philly fed index slipped a contraction territory since lockdown. the dow was down sharply on recession fears closing below 30,000 for the first time since january 2021. our next guest predicted this months ago on the show. here now is kevin and former chair of the economic advisors under trump. kevin, what did you see that others in biden's orbit missed? >> the obvious, right? the fact is that when you and i talked about it, you already knew that what i was saying was true. that we are basically in an

inflationary spiral because of the spending binge that biden gave us. also they were attacking u.s. companies and u.s. capital like the letter to the oil companies to stay tiny tip of the iceberg of what they are regulators and tax hike threats have been doing to supply so there attacking supply. they are impeding demand and that gives us inflation. it's obvious that was going to happen. it's obvious if you're giving us a reading episode, she is the person who understands the economy best in the white house right now. if you look at it, biden came out and said it's bizarre the theory that their spending had any effect on inflation come up with the san francisco fed where janet used to be president put out a study saying almost all of the inflation is attributable to biden's plans. there in denial. it democrats in congress need to step up and send it adult to the white house unexplained into them. markets are panicking while they are in denial.

>> laura: biden got really defensive in the inflation issue, he said a recession is not inevitable. then he bristled at claims by republican lawmakers the last year covid-19 was fully to blame for the inflation reaching this four year high. he called that argument bizarre, but here's his own treasury secretary janet last week as you noted. >> the spending reduced excellent rewards for americans. at most, it contributed modestly to inflation. >> laura: kevin, it seems now like they're coming after janet yellen, her days are numbered. >> you know, there is a very chilling bloomberg story where there were like double digit white house sources that were saying things like janet yellen has been allowed in the meetings and she hasn't been in the meeting since the beginning. then they are putting out

defensive statements as well. it really looks like bloomberg actually said it looks like they're getting ready to scapegoat janet yellen. now even biden's own people, saying crazy things like higher government spending doesn't mean higher inflation. that that's the first thing you learn when you study economics of high school. i'm really concerned, you might remember that president trump, fauci gave him the shutdown, he really didn't want to do it. if we had the worst quarter since the great depression, but we are out there when we were at the white house speaking frankly about the terrible economic news and telling people what our plan was to fix it. they've got terrible economic news and they're denying it and that's why markets are panicking. i don't know what the bottom for americans can be given how the white houses is buried >> laura: doesn't look like we are near the bottom giving the later shift in the white house. you were on this so early, we appreciate it.

thank you. relatedly, businesses across the country are complaining that they can't hire workers. sometimes the workers they've hired don't want to come into the office. in the end, you've got to the good about it this way. you can kind of see their point, when the federal government including many in congress routinely work from home if they're working at all. we warn them that allowing all of this would be abused. from telework to proxy voting, this has to end at the federal level. you guys can stay-at-home and just put in your pajamas. and boy, were we right. white house correspondent kevin corke has a report tonight about the most egregious proxy use for voting on the hill. i think that we've ever seen. >> this is really something. good evening. "the new york post," famous for its headline writing. this one was certainly a memorable one or as my mom used

to say, it was a doozy. what a liar. here's the backstory. the post reports a new york congressman used the congressional cove a covered rule to assign another lawmaker to vote for him on more than one dozen bills in the house all while he partied on the french riviera. there's two parts of this frankly, the one hand, yes, proxy voting is a thing. democrats and republicans do it. come on! florida congresswoman frederico wilson's been in the sunshine stayed forever. conducting the people's business because nancy pelosi says she can do it that way. the other part of this is the question. congressman jones lying when he said it was fair of their rona that kept them from showing up to work on capitol hill or to say goodbye to the wedding. the critics, that's when he wanted to do, but joe says not

[indistinct] >> laura: well, that's a depraved video from the shooting of dakota early in chicago in may. tonight, his mother told "the angle" that he is doing amazing. he was moved to rehab last week, his appetite improved, john still shot, but he can have liquid food. and still in really good spirits and ready to come home. he was shot three times close range. ty sean brownlee charged with five of the robberies in the linkin park areas in the lead up to the shooting. he was on a crime spree at the time and believed he was believed to mike involved in a robbery weeks leading up to the dakota roche routing. if we will you updates to the two stories as we get them in the weeks ahead. outside of l.a. when two officers responded to a call about a possible stabbing at a

hotel. the officers identified as corporal michael paredes and joseph santana later died. what the mayor described as an ambush. now, the suspect is justin florez, a gang member with numerous felonies on his record including a weapons charge that should have kept him in prison for years. instead, thanks to a deal with l.a.'s d.a. office, the 35-year-old thug received no jail time and was placed on probation. the body's keep piling needlessly, and districts run by soros das, is it not worth asking what would save more lives today? gun control or recalling every d.a. that george soros funded?

about criticism >> what's the best way to push back on the conspiracy theory that is based on the jewish international banker? it's so anti-semitic and of course, they've slotted george soros in there. trying to make the country like broader and blacker. what's the best way for people to push back on that lie? >> laura: i don't think joe scarborough lives in a community that's probably plagued by the type of crime that we are seeing. certain areas of chicago and then l.a., san francisco before they recalled justice. this is an anti-semitic and racial issue now? >> this is a serious topic, but it's ludicrous. it's absolutely ludicrous to say that this guy who has a crazy idea, soros, has a crazy idea that america wastes all of its resources punishing people who happen to be of a certain race.

are lucky to wipe out the last 15 years of russia's economic gains. >> laura: you might recall i had a slightly different take on it. most of europe is still buying oil from russia and when china is there to pick up the slack? our oil sanctions aren't nothing, but they're basically symbolic. they are sanctioning russia, but with their incompetence or purposeful radicalism, accommodation of the two, there really punishing americans. we know sanctions rarely work. five months later, where does it stand? number one russian oil revenues have soared to come by russia took in about $20 billion in oil exports in may, as much as they were taking in prewar. the russian ruble hit three week highs against the euro and the u.s. dollar. its military efforts haven't been stalled at all, in fact, russia now controls on most the entire year region.

finally, according to bloomberg, biden officials are sparse and concerned that the penalties are instead exacerbating inflation, worsening food insecurity, and punishing ordinary russians without putin and his allies. doctor, wasn't inevitable from day one? >> the sanctions rarely work to change the behavior of target states. sure, you can punish the people of the state but you will never cause state leaders to give up what they considered to be so important to their vital national interests. in the case of russia, that's the situation in ukraine. often what you get is a kind of feel good response. this is feel-good activity when other types of interventions are deemed to be to costly. in many cases, at often times when they are successful they

just take a lot of time. it isn't necessarily something so vital like your grain. >> laura: the fact of the matter is the revenue from the fossil fuel exports have exceeded what the country is spending on the war in ukraine according to reports and then "new york times." they're making a huge amount of money and china as i said back in march, once we knew they're going to be buying oil from russia, that was game over. i mean, this is all kind of ridiculous. this is like kabuki theater in a way. >> this is yet another case of the kind of unintended consequences we see from misguided actions. we have heard about these yachts that we have seized and then we have to pay for their upkeep. if that's the kind of small example, but we see this in terms of oil prices, food prices, and then you can see the united states take him a look, we have to provide subsidies for
