we thank you for your public service. i know you have been a police officer. you worked as a police officer in the sheriff's department there and you are now an auxiliary in the prince william county sheriff's office as well. how large is law enforcement and, you know, the crime wave that's going across our country when it comes to this particular vote in november? how many people are saying okay, yes, absolutely. inflation is killing us. but we have got pay attention to crime? >> it's absolutely a topic of priority for voters up and down the seventh district. i'm not just talking about republican voters. i'm talking about democrat voters, independent voters. the number one priority of folks is to live in safe and secure communities. to know that their children are going to be safe playing outside. unfortunately, you have a democrat party that has opened up the doors for crime skyrocketing in our communities like we have never seen before. you have somebody in abigail spanberger that led the charge to unqualified immunity. has taken felony aoc's defund

ultimately just to step down if he misses so many council meetings he will be kicked off the council. he has been widely criticized to wait too long to send those officers in to rescue those childrens in classroom 111 and 112. the state police have called this an abject failure. what your response. >> it's a tragedy. i think it's very easy to step back and try to criticize. i'm certainly very interested in continuing to see what other details are made available to the public. but certainly, it's a tragedy. and i can't imagine all of the suffering and pain that parents are still feeling, but it's absolutely our duty as public servants to ensure that we do our best to uphold that oath that we have taken. which is to serve and to protect. i'm really going to be focusing on that as we continue to campaign and looking forward to talking about this issue more in the fall. >> steve: that's right. the experts say the officers could have gone in three minutes after they arrived.

district attorney george gascon. >> brian: comes in the wake of last week's tragic shooting that claimed the lives of two ghifers is. ashley astronomer joins us. >> the issuing a unanimous vote of no confidence against gascon becoming the 35th city in l.a. county to do. so that's not stopping l.a. county d.a. george gascon from doubling down on his office's hand leg of the case that allowed the shooter to be out of jail. he was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm which could have sent him back to prison for three years. but gascon says having a gun does not make a person violent. >> the possession of a gun is not considered a violent crime. simple possession of a gun is not considered a violent crime: he was arrested for possession of drugs and possession of a gun. not the use of a gun.

his policies flores could have gone back to jail and likely would have had a trial date for the gun charges later this month. back to you guys. >> steve: but, thank you very much, ashley. then he said he could have been out on bail and he would have been on the streets anyway. for gascon to say i'm not -- you know, i'm not explaining, i'm just trying to clear the record the record is this guy, the reason people are so hacked off at him, is he will not enforce california's three strikes rule. and it's a law out there. and this guy who killed these two cops had one strike with the gun possession. and gascon say it's not violence. gascon said he wasn't a violent guy. he was just somebody addicted to drugs. oh yeah that's how want to have a gun. look at the tragic outcome of what has happened out in california. no wonder people are up in arms. >> ainsley: he received two years' probation for that felony firearm possession charge but he had been addicted to drugs. most of his previous arrests.

he had been arrested multiple times for drug related. grandparent's house. the l.a. dyspnea deputy district -- with the deputy district attorney's association said that flores should have been in a state prison cell. he would not have been able to murder these police officers. he said under california law he mace admin mum sentence of 32 months in state prison and he called him a career criminal in a gang. >> brian: in gang i'm sure nonviolent gang. they are cropping up everywhere. important to point out domestic abuse charge on him. maybe we should revoke that bail. the other thing i imagine a sober judge would look at this guy's track record, see him with gun possession. see his background and said until we get him a trial date it's better to put this guy in jail while he waits for it instead they have no power because of these d.a.s, same thing in philadelphia, new york, chicago, was in san francisco. we don't know about the replacement yet. and in new york city the only

chicago. police announcing a new foot pursuit policy barring officers from chasing offenders who commit or are about to commit low level crimes. critics say it gives criminals the green lights to make a run for it. the chicago mayor lori lightfoot disagrees. listen. >> alleys and down ways and it's important that officers stay together that they do everything that they can. >> carley: according to new policy officers will have to establish reasonable suspicion that a person has committed is committing or is about to commit a felony that endangers public safety. three people are injured after a plane makes a fiery crash landing in miami on tuesday. initial reports attribute the crash landing to gear malfunction. crews were able to quickly evacuate all 126 people aboard in douse the flames. miami's mayor calling it a miracle no one was killed.

>> let's talk about this. protesters on both sides of the abortion debate rallying in front of the u.s. supreme court yesterday as the eagerly awaits the verdict on roe v. wade. the court is having to release new verdicts tomorrow. it's unclear if roe may be one of them. i don't know how much longer they can wait. fox news contributor jonathan turley. are you surprised we didn't get it yesterday? >> no. you know, the court has always had a certain sense of theater in holding the major opinions for the last couple of days. so most of us expected dobbs would come in late if not on the last day. we have a number of big cases out there still pending with the court. we have the new york gun case, we also have a case involving the e.p.a. and climate change. we have an immigration case. these are all matinee cases. of course the one that sort of sucks the oxygen out of the room is dobbs. you know, that's the one that's

going to have the greatest impact. and when you have people calling for a night of rage, you really are quite nervous about what the response might be. >> brian: i know that you know, speaking to the governor yesterday and talking to others. everyone is concerned, including the justices themselves about their families and their family's welfare because ever these continued protests and the assassination attempt. do you think this will make it less likely that anything changes from the january leaked opinion? why? >> well, actually, i think these protesters are, if anything, encouraging these justices to stand their ground. they don't want to look like they have been intimidated. the fact is these justices are going to go where they believe the law will take them. but the image of these protesters covered in blood dropping dolls outside the home of amy coney barrett really shocks the conscience. this is a home with seven children. young children.

unconstitutional. this is a big win for religious liberty. >> that's right. yeah. you had religious liberty and school choice with their day in court. and they won. and this is a big deal for parents in maine because thousands of kids will now have an opportunity to go religious school. but it's a really big deal for parents in 37 states across the country that have amendments that restrict access to religious education for those parents. the supreme court said that's not constitutional. and this is going to open up a lot more opportunities for parents to pick their school of choice and send their kid to religious school. >> so, luke, this could not have happened at a better time for the parents in those other schools. those other states because school is out across much of the country and school starts in august or september. how do they wind up enrolling their kids in one of these schools? >> yeah, with the rise of the debate on crt and with problems with policies around the
