federal land in states where the practice is against law. first, let's hear from white house -- from the white house press secretary. >> we understand the proper proposal's well intentioned but it could actually put women and providers at risk importantly in states where abortion is now illegal, women and providers who are not federal employees, as you look at the federal land could potentially be prosecuted. there's actually a dangerous ramification toss do that. >> dangerous ramifications, she says. but at the same time, the secretary of health and human services was asked specifically about that same proposal and said that everything is under consideration. >> what i can tell you is that we are aware of a number of ideas and proposals, many of which we have been considering internally ourselves. we certainly would have conversation with the president to make sure we implement his

directives to us in trying to protect women's reproductive healthcare services. every option is on the table. >> okay, every option is on the table and some republicans are taking issue with the white house referring those seeking abortions to a web site called abortion finder which includes guidance for minors seeking to get an abortion without parental consent. representative elise stefan i can said once again this administration trying to undermine parents roles in their children's lives i will continue to rejects policies that allow abortion and use taxpayer dollars to fund procedures. the white house is under enormous pressure from progressives to mount a much more forceful response to last week's supreme court decision. carley and joey. >> carley: doug luzader live for us thank you. let's bring in kentucky congressman ranking member of the house oversight committee. congressman good morning to you. what are your thoughts on abortions on federal land? is that a possibility?

>> anything's a possibility with joe biden. i don't think if he tries to go the legislative route he's going to get very far on this. the republican party is firm in its commitment to life. this past week was a huge victory for life and i think that the conservatives who have fought so hard over the past two decades to reverse roe v wade are finally, for once, very happy with the decision that the conservative court has made and i just don't think joe biden's got very many options legislatively to do what he's claiming to the left that he's going to try to do. >> congressman i think what stands out to people the most is the idea that the white house is directing minors that still live with their parents towards a web site that advises them on how to essentially circumvent local laws or even just the ability of the parents to weigh in on their child's medical decisions. >> this is just another attempt

by the white house to circumvent parents' rights. and, you know, this is just not surprising that joe biden and the far left would try to do something like this. this is going to be a big part of their platform in the midterm elections. they can't run on any legislative accomplishments at work. they can't run on any achievement with respect to the economy or national security. so they're going to try to run on social issues. they're going to try to run on guns and abortion. >> carley: you know, congressman during the 2020 presidential election, biden, joe biden, said that he never had any discussions with his son hunter about hunter's overseas business dealings but now you have this voice mail of joe biden wanting to discuss an article in 2018 with hunter about his overseas business dealings. listen to this. >> hey, pal, it's dad. it's 8:15 on wednesday night. if you get a chance, give me a call. nothing urgent, just want to

hunter biden but joe biden's brother has been involved in nearly as many shady business dealings where he's tried to peddle influence as hunter. so the biden family has issues. and i have some bad news for the main stream media and democrat leaders in washington. joe biden did have knowledge of hunter's shady business dealings. he was involved. there was always an attempt by hunter biden when he would peddle his services to our adversaries in foreign countries that he had access to the federal government at the highest level. so this is going to come out. if it doesn't come out because of anything that merrick garland or the department of justice says, i can assure the american people that there's going to be a hearing early on in the new republican majority that's going to bring a lot of these concerns to light and very serious concerns. the american people are going to see why republicans on the house oversight committee spending so much time investing hunter biden because he is a national security risk and he has created a situation where the president

is compromised in certain areas. >> congressman you mentioned that the republicans will more than likely take the house, that means you'll play a pivotal role in any kind of investigation. is there any kind of bench mark that the doj can meet that would allow house republicans to move on or are you guarantying us today that if the republicans take the house there will be an investigation? >> there will be an investigation, i can guaranty that. we have already been conducting a lot of interviews. we have been conducting a lot of research. we have combed over the hard drive. we are meeting with former business associates and whistle blowers with respect to joe biden -- with respect to hunter biden and the president's brother. so we're going to be ready to go in january. the department of justice can continue to sit around and do nothing and act like there's not a problem, but regardless of what happens, we are going to hold hearings in january. we would love to have hunter biden come before the hearings,

but if he refuses to come before the hearings, then we're going to have plenty of people that have been involved with hunter in the past in his business dealings. we're going to have people that have been involved with some of his art dealings, some of his foreign consulting gigs and i think the american people are going to get a picture, a true picture, of all the shady business dealings that hunter's been involved in and then, you know, the ultimate concern for house republicans and the ultimate concern to the american people should be, is joe biden compromised by hunter's shady business dealings. >> carley: yeah, tony bobulinski could be one of those witnesses who said that the president did know about hunter biden's foreign business dealings but they were basing his presidential run off the fact that he could use plausible deny ability. congressman comer thank you so much for joining us. >> thanks for having me on this morning. >> carley: absolutely. the death toll in monday's amtrak derailment in missouri races to four as the ntsb zeros in on the passive crossing where the train collided with a dump

truck. officials say there are no arms, no warning lights, and were no bells. two boy scout troops were among the hundreds of passengers aboard the chicago-bound train and they put their training to use to help the injured. one of those scouts described his efforts after the train cars toppled. watch this. >> it kind of kicked in and something took over and i knew what to do. we were just getting people out windows and carrying them down. i know had to carry a couple kids in my arms, two at a time. we were just running around doing as much as we could. >> carley: that boy's father says his son also attempted to comfort the driver of the dump truck that collided with the train who ultimately died at the scene. next hour we're going to talk about this tragedy with a missouri farmer who says he warned amtrak about the train crossing but no action was taken. >> all right. 37 cities within los angeles county has now issued votes of

no confidence in district attorney george gascón. south being the latest to vote unanimously against gascón. the democratic community of el monte also doing so after two of their officials were dmild the line of duty earlier this month many blaming this tragedy on gascón's soft of crime policies because a suspected cop killer has been previously convicted of murder and was free a parole. a memorial for those fallen officers is now set for tomorrow. >> carley: west hollywood, which has not issued a no confidence vote in gascón, is now moving to defund the la county's sheriff's office despite a major spike in crime can you believe it? the city's mayor who opposes it saying most of the residents and businesses i heard are opposed tow cutting the budget. they are outraged people from outside the city are dictating to counsel how to run our city. crime has surged in west

hollywood by 137% so far this year. the defund push will cause five fewer deputies to be on patrol over the next two years. and joey you know how west hollywood is going to be using this money instead? hiring unarmed security ambassadors and i also was reading that they voted to extend the bar time so that bars used to close at 2:00 a.m., now they're going to close at 4:00 a.m. what could go wrong? >> well, sometimes you get what you ask for. and, you know, it's funny, us the mayor is kind of taking a different tone. i wonder what that mayor campaigned on. i believe it was a female, when she ran for marry sometimes when you become in a position of responsibility and account ability, your opinion changes a little bit. >> carley: yeah, and part of the reason we're seeing 137% spike in crime and part of the reason we see that is because criminals feel emboldened right now. they have' already been arrested in the morning and been released in the afternoon. look what happened in california

with two, the two criminals that had 150,000 fentanyl pills on them. they were arrested and then they were freed. >> and you talk about defunding the police in a small municipality but if the da is not going to press charges or convict, try to con i can have, what incentive does the police have to waste their resources and time bringing these people in. i have it kind of trickles down that way. >> carley: absolutely it's tragedy. i thought the defund the police movement was losing steam and it is but the fact you still see cities and a lot of these people that voted for this, you know, it was a city council vote but there are wealthy areas of west hollywood and i'm sure that's where that push was coming from because the crime doesn't affect them. >> it's losing steam against democrat politicians having to run for office in a red state like stacey abrams. while she still sits on a board of an organization trying to push those policies. it's like they're back-dooring the policies still. >> carley: turning, protesters targeting justice clarence thomas at his home and now they want him fired from his teaching

break free from the big three and switch to xfinity mobile. ♪ >> joey: woke students in george washington university are pushing a petition to remove supreme court justice clarence thomas as an adjunct professor claiming he creates an unsafe environment on campus. this comes after thomas supported the decision to overturn roe v wade. a student at the george washington university law school also a campus corespondent and joins me now this morning. good morning. >> good morning. >> joey: so looking at this you know, my first question to you, is there any precedent amongst schools in dc georgetown or other schools or even among other justices that this happened because of their decision on a high profile case they're fired from a position or disinvited to a school? >> well, first of all, george

washington university law school is extremely privileged. it's one of the only schools that has this amazing opportunity to have a supreme court justice as a faculty member. of course we've seen georgetown university and uc hastings have cancelled professors because of their opinions but this is the first time we're seeing undergraduate students with an unknown affiliation calling to repeal a supreme court justice because of his concurring opinion in the dobbs position from the george washington university law school teaching position. of course this has nothing to do with the law school community and has nothing do with his teaching style or his bob rarity amongst law students. this is just another cancel culture case motivated by emotional response to something that students just don't like. >> joey: it doesn't look like the petition's going to get anywhere. george washington university has responded to this idea telling their students, quote, because we steadfastly support the robust exchange of ideas and

deliberations and because debate is an essential part of our university's academic and mission to train future leaders who are prepared to address the world's most urgent problems the university will neither terminate justice thomas's employment nowhere cancel his class in response to his legal opinions. coming back to you looking at this, george washington obviously does not want to get rid of a supreme court justice and the access to that, but how does it help minds trying to learn and educate themselves on the legal process to get rid of opposing views? to take them off campus? to not have to face them? >> personally, as a law student, i believe a good law school is where students can engage in debate and look at each issue from all angles, because, after all, we're going to be attorneys and we have to take either side of an issue and zealously advocate. i believe george washington law school is where i have learned to look at issues from every

aspect and the professors we've had had there including jonathan turley also someone coming from the right and we have professors coming from the left, they have done a great job in encouraging students critical thinking. so i'm very happy that our administration has taken such a step to top request defend academic integrity and freedom of expression on our law school's campus. >> joey: i went to georgetown university and i tell people all the time my favorite part no matter how liberal the school was itself was the idea someone could leave the white house and teach my evening class. someone could be a supreme court justice and, you know, have direct impact with 20 to 200 minds for hours a week. how special is it to be at a school inside the beltway and have that kind of access, and are kids just spoiled? is that why they're not appreciating it? >> i personally chose gw law school because i was excited to have this opportunity to learn from a supreme court justice and

his class is one of the most popular courses to take. for this reason, i believe having someone like clarence thomas in there not only adds to the credibility of george washington university law school but also to the george washington university community as a whole. i am an immigrant from iran, and i came to the united states because i wanted to be engaged in a civil debate in conversation without facing rep row cushions from the government and of course here at george washington university i do not want to experience being cancelled or see students cancelling professors, faculty members or other students just because they have opposing views. so i'm not the only person who wants to stand against this kind of cancel culture on our campus. >> joey: real quick, have you taken justice thomas's class? >> i hope to take it next fall and justice thomas, if you're

president will run for reelection and she will be his running mate. you know, i saw that interview and it almost felt like she was telling biden you're going to run again and i'm going to be your running mate. >> carley: don't get it twisted. that new york times is really interesting. it started off by telling a story about how when bernie sanders said that he wasn't going to run for president in 2024, it made president biden so happy that he invited bernie sanders over for dinner that night. which really struck me as interesting. you have to wonder if this was -- if this is genuine that president biden actually wants to run again in 2024. which i think would honestly be very surprising. or if this story was planted by white house aides to make people think that he is running in 2024. i mean, to hear democrats say that they are con founded that other people are wondering whether or not he's going to run, it seems very unlikely. he's almost 80 years old and you just saw the poll. he's at 38%.

political grandstanding around the tragedy which was a hit at republicans. what's your response to that? >> you know, 51 people perishing in the back of a trailer is certainly joe biden's fault. it's the fault of failed policies at the federal level. it's the fault of our vice-president, who was actually the border czar who has not spent a single day at the border. i'll tell you something, joey you and i are military guys and when you arer charge you should be in charge. and when you're named the border czar you should at least go to the border and make sure everything is right. when you can't even visit to see the problem we have in this country, that only tells me you don't care about the problem, you are not concerned about what's going on at our southern border and you are going to continue to allow it to happen until the midterms here in november. and that's literally why i'm running for congress to make sure we put an end to these failed policies and we get back to what it means to having law in this country, law and order in this country, and making sure that we have people that actually care about the lives of

americans and people that are trying to come into this country as well. >> joey: it's a problem that's not going away. let's move on to another national security problem. it seems all of our military branches are struggling to meet their recruiting quota. they can't get enough people in to take care of those leaving. military woke mandates, there's people getting kicked out because of the vaccine. >> yeah. >> joey: we're looking and if you look at the numbers here the air force army navy and marine corps all in the triple and quadruple digits of numbers that they can't fill. and that might look like small numbers there, actually these numbers are those that are refusing to get the vaccine. but you're talking about thousands of service members kicked out just over the vaccine. >> yeah. >> joey: not even thinking about the numbers they need to back fill just to keep it the same number of men and women in the service. let's listen to lieutenant colonel stewart last year who was one of those kicked out over the vaccine. >> this is not a recruitment problem. this is a problem with our

senior leaders. our senior leaders inability to have courage, their hypocrisy is affecting all other things. >> joey: wesley, less than a third of those that are bringing into the military can come in without a waiver and these waivers are for things like being too overweight on to run or having a felony. >> yeah. >> joey: where is the problem? does the problem start even before the military gets ahold of them? >> of course it does joey. i've got one word for you. it's called wokeness. when you have a military more focused on pronouns white rage and crt and not focused on war fighting this is the problem we're going to have with recruiting. you know my family we have over 60 years, six zero with military service just in my immediate family. i went to west point, my brother went to west point, my sister went to west point first in my family and west point is known as the united states military academy emphasis on the military piece of this. this is the last mer tock arrest we have in this world and those brief men and women like you and i willing to serve we literally did this to make sure we

preserve the values of our country. and i will tell you this, you know, one of the top grossing movies in this country right now is top gun. you know why? they didn't go woke. when you go woke, you go broke as we very well know. and i think if we get back to those values we're going to be just fine and this is why we're seeing a difference in our recruiting. and i think most americans and young people that want to serve our country can care less about what's going on with vaccine mandates and crt and white rage. they just want to serve. that's what we've got to get back to. >> carley: we're approaching the fourth of july and each year around this time polls come out and they show that there is an historic lack of patriotism right now especially among young people. could that be part of the problem as well and, if so, how do you fix that? >> it most certainly is. and when i came into the military it was actually post 9/11 and i remember a time in this country where you couldn't go on line and find an american flag to buy. let's think about that.

that's where we were 20 years ago and now we want to kneel during the national anthem and now we don't want to respect our flag. so whenever you raise a generation of people that don't have self respect appear pride for their country this is what you see. but i'm telling you that the pendulum is shifting and we're seeing people realize that this is the greatest country in the world. and you know what, contrary to what you might hear we are living in the greatest time in the greatest country in the world. while we might see this dip right now i'm telling you the next generation is going to be a generation that realizes that freedom liberty and the pursuit of happiness is all we have. it is our human right to have and we are the only country that really understands that and we have got to make sure we pass these values down to the next general sfliegs wesley hunt thank you for your service brother and good luck with your bid for congress down there in texas. >> hey, joey thank you for your service brother and i'll see you next time brother. i really appreciate you all. >> carley: thank you. >> thank you. god bless you. >> carley: thank you, too.
