>> judging by the rundown, 7:30 and 8:00, nothing but pittsfield. >> sounds good. we are learning more information about that tragedy down in south texas and san antonio where 50 people are now saying -- they are now saying 51 people, the numbers going up. earlier this morning they said 39 of them were men and 21 were women. don't know the extra was because there are 51 they are saying this morning who have died. it's 103 degrees and i was wondering who was driving this truck. it was abandoned and they say it broke down because of mechanical failure and the driver, they say, was not trying to flee on foot, found in a nearby field, two more were arrested and one is an american citizen. >> they just painted the truck to look like a different truck. it was supposed to be cloned and in it were all these bodies piled up. according to "the new york post" story, they put spices, and they must have known.

>> the story is that apparently this truck across the board in laredo, about 150 miles south of san antonio, and it passed through border checkpoint on i-35. and the dogs came and they smell the truck. on the day was over 100 degrees people are going to be sweating and the dog is going to alert people, so they apparently spread the steak seasoning throughout the body of that truck to distract the dogs. and regarding the truck, brian, you are absolutely right. it was built to look exactly like a real truck registered to the u.s. department of transportation. and they call it cloning a vehicle. we said yesterday that it was a refrigeration truck, because it looks like one. they apparently had a refrigeration unit on it, but it

wasn't hooked up because it just had to look like a real truck with a real number, except the guy who owns the real truck said, "i'm looking at the truck and it's in the parking lot here in san antonio." that truck is a fake. >> it had u.s. and texas registration numbers connected to this resident, and his son-in-law, reported went to talk to him and they said those running the smuggling ring fraudulently printed the tags. the fake tags correspond with a volvo. so the man was really shaken up by this incident. >> what would it take for the president to actually talk about this calamity which is the border, which is falling apart since he took over? this. even though he is overseas, he commented in an official statement saying the tragic loss of life in san antonio, texas, that took place yesterday is horrifying and heartbreaking and the need to go after the multibillion-dollar criminal smuggling industry, preying on

migrants and leading to far too many innocent deaths. if you wanted to crack down on the smuggling ring, you have a funny way of showing it. you have incited them to come to work. you have allowed the third-party policy where the first step a migrant takes into a neighboring country, that's where they apply for citizenship, you have ignored the remaining mexico policy, and you given the sense to everybody that comes here, if you're with a family, you get to stay. you don't think they are say to people, come one, come all? you get to stay and ask for your family. don't think that hasn't nothing to do with the number of people in situations like this, how many refrigeration trucks working? >> doesn't show you what a massive operation this is?

they are painting the trucks to look other trucks and companies in south texas and taking fake identity numbers and slapping them on the windshield so that you think it belongs to a certain person, it's a legitimate company, legitimate truck, when if you look at those identification numbers they attract other people who live in texas. >> they figured it out because they're so much money in it, but when the president talks about the multibillion-dollar criminal smuggling industry, he's talking about the cartels. and they are not just smuggling people, they are smuggling drugs. and where's the outrage about all of the fentanyl? it probably kills more people then were in that truck in this country every day. the administration has taken heat over the last couple of days ever since, because clearly those people got in that truck and paid those coyotes the big money to get in, because the message was, don't come, but go

ahead and come. karine jean-pierre was asked about this yesterday on air force one while traveling to spain and said that the president's policies are not the reason those people are dead. speak of the fact of the matter is the border is closed, which is in part why you see people trying to make this dangerous journey, using smuggling networks. again, our hearts go out to the families at this time. we are going to stay focused on the facts and making sure that we hold these smugglers accountable. that's going to be our focus. >> firefighter said they found stacks of bodies, no sign of water on the truck or the ac unit. police said several of the victim staggered out of the truck before they were found dead several blocks away. they were 16 survivors including four children. they are at various hospitals in san antonio and they said they were hot to the touch when they found them. a local worker heard a faint cry coming out of that truck and alerted police.

they said they are not confident they have accounted for everyone and they are not sure what the exact number is in the mexican foreign minister says the deceased includes 22 for mexico, seven from guatemala, two from honduras. and others have not been identified and there were no children among the dead. >> what will it take for the president to pay attention to the border, arguably his greatest failure to date? think of the frustration of governor greg abbott trying desperately to get the president's attention, building his own while using his texas rangers, his own national guard, to do something the president not only doesn't do, but ignores. and they asked, act like it's one of the first to die. there are five bodies found almost every day the people who just died on the way here, let alone with horrific things happening, that they don't even get to our border. here is the governing yesterday. >> he said he's doing everything possible to stop human smuggling. that is a lie. he has dismantled i.c.e., he has

a limited all of the border security efforts put in place by president trump. it was just a year and half ago when we had the most secure border in decades and today we have the worst human smuggling problem than ever before. these are people who lost their lives. they did so because president biden has empowered and emboldened the cartels to do exactly what you saw happen. it's a tragedy and it's not going to stop until biden begins to enforce the laws passed by congress and the united states of america. >> he tweeted out that these deaths are on biden, they are the result of his deadly open border policy. >> there it is right there. historically the number of people who come into the country illegally goes down during the hot summer months. but obviously the cartels have figured out, you know what? rather than go through the hot weather, just hop on a truck and we will have you in san antonio in no time. >> they don't care. the smugglers don't care, they

are making money. >> absolutely. they want to come into the united states for a better life, and i get it, unfortunately. as he saw a couple days ago in san antonio, at the spot, a well-known spot where migrants are dropped off, that's obviously where they drop them off because there is a rail line right there. those people i dead. the message was the door is open. you know what? the door was closed on that truck and they all died. just so you know, some interpret this differently. senator menendez says this problem is because these are the consequences of restricting access to our system and failing to create legal pathways for migrants at our border. our problem is the pathways for people to get here legally. change the laws. if you got problem with it, change the laws. but for decades, congress has been unable to fix that problem. >> letting more people in the border and opening of the border is not the answer. >> ted cruz says horrific, this

sheriff's department >> so they will have five fewer sheriff's because of their budget approval, the actual budget, in a vote 3-2, they decided they would like to cut back on the amount of cops in west hollywoos been overrun by crime. but they do want to use the money for something else. >> this is what is desired, they are decreasing how much they are going to give the police, cutting five positions, and yet they are funding a russian arts festival giving an extra $14,000 and increasing it to a total budget of $15,000. and they are reimagined police, the monies being reallocated to a block by block program to staff unarmed security ambassadors. >> the program is called block by block, so they are taking

armed share of deputies off the street and they are putting in their place 30 unarmed security ambassadors. so if you are security ambassadors you don't have a gun, you probably have -- i hope a badge or something. >> phone to call 911? >> maybe. so essentially they will beg people, please stop stealing that car, or something like that. there is such a debate in west hollywood over the last couple of months because people realize this is a bad idea if there is a time of general unease and a crime wave. now is not the time. west hollywood city council member who thought it was a good idea, i believe, was lindsey horvath, 1 of 3 who voted for defending. he or she is. >> prioritizing people safety doesn't just mean people with guns and badges on the streets. they have to find another way to keep our residents safe and to address safety and quality of life issue in a way that is

affordable. >> so crime is up and they are cutting police. it makes no sense. in february of 2021 there were 105 incidents of things like rape, burglary, murder, aggravated assault, arson, human trafficking. february of last year compared to february this year. so 105 last year, 250 this year. it's gone up 137%. >> so far i would say it is safe to say they haven't found a better way to have crime decreased. hi, ambassador, this is called the smash-and-grab, get out of my way. they way into fox vigil this way. most of the residents are opposed to cutting this budget. they are outraged that people and organizations from outside the city are dictating to the council how to run our city. the narrative that we can have

♪ ♪ >> key midterm races are taking shape this morning. in new york, for example, congressman lee zeldin won the republican nomination, doubling his second challenger, andrew giuliani. he will face incumbent democrat kathy hochul, an extremely weak candidate in a very democratic state, writing for her first full turn after taking over for a very disgraced governor cuomo. in illinois, trump backed former darren bailey clinched the g.o.p. nomination for the governor palin will get into that. after democrat governor j.b. pritzker spent $30 million to prevent a more moderate republican from winning the

race. here to act as ronna mcdaniel. bring me to last statement. have you ever seen this before to this level? the financing, the people who might be more favorable for the democrat? >> i haven't seen this. coming from a big democrat donor getting through, other they failed. they spent money in colorado to get rid of jim as a day. he won the senate nomination which is going to make that a competitive race in colorado. so it's a waste of money in my mind. >> did it work with darren bailey, though? >> in illinois it looks like it might have worked. i would say i wouldn't have looked at illinois is a huge battleground anyway with the amount of money that j.b. pritzker has. he has unlimited funds to funnel into his gubernatorial race, which is too bad for the people in illinois because they've got record crime levels and lots of problems in that state.

>> also trump backed darren bailey, that helps a lot, as you know, more than anybody. have you seen any early polling that shows how that might challenge you more than before roe v. wade is overturned? >> we will be looking at recent polling but i will say this, brand, it was leaked in april. so this is a little baked in and we have seen no movement in the polling once this was leaked. so a lot of voters had seen this, they expected roe v. wade to be overturned and it did not change the numbers at all. >> so let's look at something else that was pretty fascinating that emerge. i believe it revealed that more than 1 million voters went out of their way. because they switch parties from democrat to republican, and most of those in the suburbs where president trump was shedding voters last time around. what does your micro polling show you the reason is?

>> we are seeing it everywhere. we have been outpacing dams 4-1 in pennsylvania, in north carolina, 3-1 florida. he overtook the democrats in the first time in history with more republicans registered. it is common sense issues. parents should have a say in their kids's education, we should be energy independent, have a secure border, crime is an issue. this all removes voters to the republican party as they watched democrats become more and more extreme. >> leash is a 630,000 switched to democrat from republican but was far outstripped by the million plus you guys have gotten. when you look at these races a lot of focus is going to be on georgia. herschel walker, dead even or slightly up in georgia. look at maggie hassan on, quite vulnerable in new hampshire. republicans seem to be worried about -- it's always a tough race in wisconsin. tell me about what your back

room looks like. where are you most concerned and most optimistic of flipping? >> lino ron johnson, that's the number one target for democrats but we have big win prayerless in areas like kenosha and waukesha which is good for republicans heading into novemb. it's an honest primary for the democrats, a competitive race for the democrat nomination. he's running even with raphael warnock. that's really good. he is just out of a primary. we need to win georgia. new hampshire, again, all three of the candidates, the three top-tier candidates, are polling within the margin of error with maggie hassan. it's a september primary which i don't love. but also nevada, doing incredibly well against periods of his opportunity for pickups. we've got to hold those retiring republican senator seats in pennsylvania and north carolina. >> we will talk about that and

against trump who have the stories against trent. >> if they contradict or they should definitely do it. >> that would be fair. but keep in mind there are four people on the record to say that trump was required by law and authorized up to 20,000 national guard troops to be there on january 6th that day. once he authorized them, then the speaker of the house, nancy pelosi, and the mayor of d.c., muriel bowser, they have to call in these national guard troops. if they called in the national guard troops, the chief of police also asked for extra security. why didn't they use them? why didn't they call it extra security? if they'd had extra security this would not of happened. they wouldn't be anyone storming in the capitol. so why isn't the committee investigating nancy pelosi or muriel bowser to say, why didn't you do it donald trump has requested and call the national guard? >> the question is, what was he doing the whole time and why didn't he hop on television earlier? why didn't he say from the podium not to go over there when

but ultimately not only does it lead to death because they are drinking where there are drugs, it leads to fights and all sorts of trouble. >> that's exactly right. and parents, i know in many cases they are funding these kids' education. i think they should have a come-to-jesus moment with their kids or their young adults before they send them out there like that. i think -- i mean, some of the stuff i see every single year, and they are so intoxicated, they are so comfortable being on tv and just blacking out. back in the day, i would be scared of my mom and dad finding out. forget law enforcement, if my mom and dad find out i am acting a fool on the beach, i don't care what age, they would lose their cool. it just doesn't seem to be the case today. but, again, it's not just wild behavior. these kids' lives are at risk. they think they are extremity with drugs, the d.a. has already

doing. they did a tremendous job in a short period of time. the scheme during training camp, getting that simplified is key also. >> case, for you, just to play, even with the giants and the raiders before. to have a chance to be the starting quarterback and play at this level, what do you get by being out there every day? >> it's been an awesome experience. it gives you a lot of opportunities play football again, and highly competitive guy so every time i can get out there and compete, super excited about it. we got the call, very excited and ready for the opportunity. >> in particular you played the stallions who basically were the ones who had home games all year long. this is the first being on a neutral playing field playing birmingham because every game was in there. what does it take to beat the stallions? >> all of these games have been

competitive and most of them have come down really to the last drive of the game, so we are excited to be able to face birmingham in this game, and we feel that we have earned our way here, and i know they have earned their way into this game. i think anything can happen in pro football. you sign example of that last week. we took on a team that was 9-1 and we came off the field with the win. >> new jersey generals. fox has an answer coming back for year number two. the ex-nfl will start again in the spring. regardless of how this game comes out, what is next for you? >> i've taken quite a few hits i'm going to rest up and ice up. first of all, i get married in july, july 14th, so i'm excited about that, but i'm excited about this league.

here with his reaction to president biden on the world stage is fox news contributor douglas murray. good morning. what is your reaction to that conversation that our president had with macron about the uae and the saudi being tapped out. they are maximum production of oil? >> several things very important interesting about this. the first is what macron himself said. president biden has been hoping this last ditch saving of his energy policy and he can persuade saudi arabia, the uae and other arab oil producing companies to increase production of oil. what president macron says, no. it can't be done. i spoken to the head of the uae. i spoken to him. he said it can't be done. not only can they not do it, the saudis can't do it now.

they have at maximum production. will be six months down the road before any increase in production can happen. that's the first thing. first thing that was interesting is what macron said to biden. i think there's something else. the way in which he said. if you look at this video, macron is trying to make this really simple for president biden. president biden you can see is standing there, trying to take it in, but this is not a dialogue between two equal world leader. it like somebody prepping somebody they know isn't on top of the issue. no wonder president macron thinks that. no wonder other world leaders might think that. >> why would macron know this information and our own president wouldn't. our president talks to him, he said, now what, let's have a conversation away from the cameras is what he's saying. i don't want america to know
