's that comport to what you see on the ground campaigning? >> when i'm on the ground campaigning, the number issue is the economy. i have never heard anyone being worried about the gun violence. i'm sure, yes, people are concerned about it, especially because of the border crisis. especially because we live so close to the border. we do have the cartel that has taken over the southern border. but, the everyday americans i have dealt with ever since i have been campaigning or worried about the economy. the gas in the groceries. that is all i have heard for months and months ever since the biden administration came in on

>> ainsley: we are waiting to hear from president biden overseas in madrid right now. he is expected to hold a news conference and answer reporter questions at any moment. here at home, vice president triggering brand-new uncertainty about president biden's 2024 election plans in a series of remarks this week. >> vice president harris: joe biden is running for reelection and i will be his ticket mate, full. >> ainsley: barely two days later the vice president had to clarify those words saying "the president intends to run and if

he does, i will be his ticket mate. we will run together. here to react as fox news contributor lara trump. what happens behind the scenes? wanted to change what she said? >> oh, my gosh. add this, ainsley come to the list of things this white hasn't had to walk back, clarify, here you have kamala harris trying to dig yourself out of a hole. maybe she realized how ridiculous of a statement it was. to say joe biden is definitely running at 2024 and she was his ticket mate, whatever exactly ticket mate means, that's a new term for a lot of us. honestly, you know, i think so many americans look at these two and you know, it is been failure after failure. give joe biden who obviously got the most votes in the history of america, whatever you make of that as well, and i have an approval rating the low 30s, 85% of the country feels like
5:32 am
the countries on the wrong track. he has been led blindly by the radicals and his party and is driving this country into the ground. have kamala harris who we were told there were so excited to tell us was chosen solely based on her appearance and has failed, again, and every single task she has been given whether borders and voting rights, whatever it might be that she has done, that has been her trajectory. the truth is, think about the idea like you get painters from he hired some painters to paint your house, you come back 18 months later, not only have they not painted your house, the house is crumbling and falling apart. i'm going to guess you going to want to hire new painters from a different company to fix the problem. that is exactly what the american people are saying with joe and kemal. i don't think anyone on any planet is buying the joe biden and kamala harris are running apart or to get together but ainsley, we know why we keep hearing these talking points. it's because as we head for the midterm, they don't want to look
5:33 am
like the democratic party is totally in disarray and falling apart. yet, sadly, that's pretty much was happening here. >> ainsley: what he agrees with him he doesn't think they will run again how does this play out? one of the save the american public? is saying that they think they'll make the announcement of the midterm election but what you think? what are their plans? >> i think he is right. think they have to announce after the midterms. makes them look like a completely weak party if they were to do that beforehand and maybe they pushed all the way to the very end as far as they possibly can. look, we have watched in real time the mental acuity of joe biden's decline day by day. even looked back to the day he took office as president of the united states. he is in worse shape now than he was then. you know, kamala harris obviously, wanted the title of vice president. she doesn't want to do any of the work, and all the tasks she is doing i think democrats are
5:34 am
in a really bad spot. have all these policies the far left in their party and it is working. headed toward the midterms, man, i think they're just kind of it's almost like they're jumping in the deep end. holding their nose and holding their breath and hoping something good happens. i think we also the riding on the wall and know it's going to be a red wave. i don't think they have a lot of great prospects if it's not joe and kemal. >> ainsley: gavin newsom is running advertisements down in your estate in florida. is that an indication he will run? >> i would love to see that attempted. heck, we would love to see hilary give another world. >> ainsley: she is not. >> they may also have michelle obama waiting in the wings their peerages had some sick things to say recently. she is also a contender i know they like to kind of put out there time to time and push your name out there. so we will all see, the truth is the matter who it is, whatever republican we have running,
5:35 am
however it might be, i won't give any indication, i think it's going to be a sure win in 2024 because we know the democratic policies are ruining america. >> ainsley: laura, thank you so much, great to see you. >> thanks, ainsley. >> you're welcome. as a fox news alert... president biden minutes away from addressing reporters in spain. we will take you there when it happens.

good morning to you, detective. >> good morning. >> steve: this looks a lot to us like more of this defunding the police because they are taking money away. they are reducing head count and taking money out of the sheriff's department, and they're going to put these unarmed security ambassadors out in the street instead. what could possibly go wrong? >> well, so you have unarmed security ambassadors out there. what is going to happen is they will see a crime occurring, what will they do, call 911? who will respond because they don't have the deputies to respond to violent crimes. those ambassadors are only good for may be handing out maps to the stars houses so you can go on a tour and see that. i think it's pretty obvious that they are city elected officials must love las vegas was because they are gambling with people's lives. all these liberal cities voting to defund the police are calling for more police but not west hollywood. their officials are doubling down on defunding the police when they have 130% increase in

5:42 am
>> exactly. they are county and elected officials have come out and said hey, we're going to reduce the deputies here. it makes absolutely no sense. violent crime is crazy. we haven't seen homicide like this in our city or county since the 1990s. now they want to take less deputies and move them out and put unarmed ambassadors? just when you think you heard enough defunding and reimagining policing, here you have these elected officials calling for more of it. just come at that point for your hands up and say you can't fix stupid. that a space where in doing now is when i hear that i just that's why think about. >> steve: no kidding greta may have been wrong about universal but a lot of people go to west hollywood during tourist season. a lot of people, detective, we ask our people live in west hollywood and they said they want to see more foot patrols, which probably is true, but they will probably like to see the foot patrols with people being

armed just in case something goes haywire. >> exactly. thing about this, couple of weeks ago in a neighboring city of los angeles we had to go officers killed by responding to a call. now you'll put unarmed ambassadors out there to bump into all kinds of violent crime? instead of using these funds for more accessible's, they should be using these funds to go down this route to give the families burial costs of their family members victims of violent crimes because that is going happen. b2 detective jamie mcbride in l.a., thank you for coming and issuing a clarion call of don't come to l.a. diamond york city and out they don't come to new york city either because not safe in either the big towns. they get so much for your service and joining us on this thursday. >> thank you. speech all right, let's go out of the streets of new york city we have a weather for the fourth of july weekend. >> yes, lots of activity happening here on fox square, let's take a look at the maps and i will show you what we are dealing with, the potential for travel delays across the

he won at that topic our next guest knows all about. the pro-life message in his 2018 movie. despite being shunned and even canceled by hollywood. >> brian: dean cain joins us now from the movies to the real world. what is your take from how america has responded to the overturning of roe v. wade? >> it went from abortion being safe, legal, and rare to shout your abortion. it went a long way in the other direction. i found that very odd. that film wasn't necessarily a pro-life movie. if you watch the movie and see the atrocities that the men committed on the viable babies and on the women that he treated if you can call it treatment. if you come out of their pro-life, that doesn't shock me. hollywood's reaction is no surprise to me either. i don't care if they alienate a bigger part of their audience.
5:52 am
they have been so busy preaching their message but don't really care about people's reactions are. they have been put in their own agenda for a long time now. i think that's changing with films like "maverick." the success of "the daily wire." it is a big audience out there that doesn't necessarily agree with all those hollywood messages. >> brian: when you think about it, what the supreme court said as they didn't stop abortion. they just said there is no constitutional right. if you want an abortion, and depends on your state which is the way, you know, apparently our framers added, you know, that's my federalism is all about. a right to an abortion is still there. it just depends on where you are. and to have an impact on the elections come november, and should have a big impact at the state and local level. >> 100% paid for 180 years, the right to abortion wasn't a constitutional right. it never was a constitutional right. therefore it is the tenth amendment, something that should have gone to the states and been

at the state level. even ruth bader ginsburg said that it was on shaky legal ground. if you are surprised that roe being overturned, you haven't been paying attention that much for the last 20 years. >> ainsley: you have all the celebrities sharing their abortion stories. "if it weren't for places like planned parenthood -- alec baldwin daughter shared her experience online saying that she became pregnant while in an unhappy relationship. the daughter of paul walker said she had an abortion last year in 2020. are you surprised by the normalcy of their stories? this is just a normal thing now. >> listen, it has touched my life. it is touch the lives of people that i know very close to me. you know, i had a child out of wedlock. there was a decision that his mother could have made. i am forever grateful and thankful that she didn't make the decision. because my son is the greatest thing in my life.
5:54 am
period. >> steve: i understand you have a new project, brian. >> brian: tell me about "tenacity." >> "tenacity" is a book -- oh, look, i've got it right here. written by a gentleman as such a great book. i just did the audiobook version of it. i've never done an audiobook before. his story is the story of the american dream. it's a family of immigrants. it grew up in brooklyn. grew up in a family that was a very poor part of his life he joined the military marines. he learned his lifelong motto, failure is not an option. he applied that to the rest of his life as a businessman in las vegas. he takes you through some pretty incredible stories about trying to do business in las vegas with shady people, shady politicians. you know, a lot like -- a lot of shady politicians and people like that.
5:55 am
and then he through hard work and determination, he made himself very successful business plan. it's a great story. i really enjoyed voicing that story. if you want to hear the dulcet tones of my voice for several hours, listen to the audiobook. >> steve: we have 17 seconds of you. listen to this>> in my younger s fortunate to possess the inner drive to set a standard and a military training to back it up. that's what this book is about. a determination to overcome any unjust obstacles that may stand in the way of one's dreams. in a word, tenacity." >> steve: that sounds great. >> that's it. do you hear the silky smoothness of that question marks the three and you teach it. you were born with that gift. there you go. >> ainsley: i think you're the first guest to ever promote a book on their show that they did not write that they are voicing.
5:56 am
now we all know about the book. >> brian: it's unbelievable. >> ainsley: everyone is traveling this summer. this will be a good book to grab and put in your car and that your whole family hear it. is it appropriate for the family? >> is very appropriate for the family. i don't think they kids -- it's a lot about the stories and the things he went through. i think adults and young adults would certainly appreciate the message. >> dean cain, thank you. there is no president in madrid. let's listen. >> president biden: thank you. have a seat. please sit down. someone else walk in the room. and thank you very much for taking time to be here. i think we can all agree that this has been a historic nato summit. some of the folks who have accompanied me for a while a year and a half ago in the first g7 meeting took place in england. i talked about the need for us
5:57 am
to reconsider the makeup of nato and how it functioned and come up with a different strategy for nato and how we work together. and in addition to that, we also talked about the g7 taking on additional responsibilities. before the war started, i told vladimir putin if he invaded ukraine, nato would only get stronger but we get more united. we would see democracies in the world stand up and opposes aggression and defend the rule of based order. that is exactly what we are seeing today. this summit was about strengthening our reliance, meeting that challenge in our world as it is today and the threats we are going to face in the future. the last time nato drafted a new mission statement was 12 years ago. at that time, and characterized russia as a partner and it
5:58 am
didn't even mention china. the world has changed. change the great deal since then. nato is changing as well. at this summit, we rallied our alliances to meet both a direct threats of russia opposes europe and the systemic challenges that china poses to a rules-based world order. and we have invited to new members to join nato. it was a historic act. finland and sweden. two countries with a long tradition of neutrality and choosing to join nato. some of the american press will remember when i got a phone call from the leader at bentley insane could he come and see me. and he came the next day and said, where you support my country joining nato? he suggested we call the leader of switzerland. switzerland, my goodness. i'm getting really anxious here about expanding nato.
5:59 am
sweden. and what happened was, we got on the phone and she asked if she could come the next day to want to talk about joining nato. allies across the board are stepping up. increasing defense spending. a majority of them are on track for the first time to exceed our 2% of gdp commitment that they made. they agreed to spend 2% of the gdp on defense. look, for example, germany. germany is committed to spending 2% going forward and announced a special fund for its military of more than $100 billion. slovakia, the czech republic, and another evans have announced they will also meet their 2% commitments. poland, romania, latvia, lithuania are doing more than 2.5%. to some as high as 3%. together to deploy more assets and capabilities to both of our
6:00 am
alliances across domains. land, air, sea, cyber, and space. we have reaffirmed that our article commitment is sacred. an attack on one is an attack on all and we will defend every inch of nato territory, every inch of nato territory. for our part, the united states is doing exactly what i said we would do if putin invaded. enhanced our force posture in europe. we will station warships in spain. we are stationing more air defense in italy and germany. or after 35's in the united kingdom. added to strengthen our flag, new permanent headquarters for the army fifth corps in poland. in addition, an additional brigade combat team positioned in romania. an additional rotational deployment in the baltic countries. things are changing. we will adapt to the world as we have it today.
