you know, that i think will bring them more offense than anything they can internally generate. it's really an awful thing for the president to do. >> dana: all of our guests, thank you so much. thank you for being with me today and yesterday. we appreciate that so much. awesome or not, handle today.. >> dagen: president biden wrapping up his european trip, returning home to face the same bunch of problems. catastrophes that he left behind. this is "the faulkner focus." i'm dagen mcdowell in for harris. out-of-control inflation just one of the problems americans are feeling right now. the president this morning saying he's continuing to support ukraine as the best course of action, and he took his blame game international. jazzing up his usual script.
8:01 am
>> i think there's a lot of things we can do and we will deal, but the bottom line is ultimately the reason why gas prices are up is because of russia. russia, russia, russia. the reason the food crisis exists is because of russia. russia not allowing grain to get out of ukraine. so that is the way in which i think we should move and i think we have a positive impact on the price at the pump, as well. >> dagen: peter doocy was at that news conference in madrid. unfortunately he was overlooked by president biden, but he was listening. hey, peter. >> i don't think i was overlooked. he saw me sitting there right in the front, but only took questions from five different people, which is fine. he's on his way back home right now and he doesn't have anything aboard air force one that's going to lower gas prices for american consumers back home, but he likes the idea of a cap on the cost of russian oil
8:02 am
imports for the countries on this continent that are still buying. >> here's the deal -- we are going to allow you to have a profit of what you make, but not the exorbitant prices that you are charging for the oil that would drag down the price of oil and drive down the price of gasoline, as well. >> the biggest news today was on roe. this president supports changing senate rules to guarantee a law of abortion protection with democrat votes only. >> i believe we have to codify roe v. wade into law and the way to do that is to make sure congress votes to do that. if the filibuster gets in the way, it's like voting rights. we provide an exception, the required exception to filibuster for this action to deal with the supreme court decision. >> that's coming from a president who once opposed
8:03 am
abortion rights and called it a tragedy but now he insists there's a reason he is the best spokesperson on this issue. >> and the president of the united states of america. i'm the best messenger. i'm the only president they've got, and i feel extremely strong that i'm going to do everything in my power which i legally can do in terms of executive orders, as well as push the congress to the public. >> fox was not on the president's list of preapproved reporters today. i shouted out that i had a quick win and he said "there's no such thing as a quick one," and off he went. dagen? >> dagen: i know. sadly. thank you. peter doocy following the president. sean duffy is here, a fox news contributor. joe biden stepping up and saying he is in favor of getting rid of the filibuster to legalize abortion nationally. sean, what say you?
8:04 am
>> dagen, when he was opposed to getting rid of the filibuster when he didn't have an issue like abortion on the docket, and he wants to push the filibuster to the sideline so democrats can pass abortion rights, but the problem is, where does joe manchin go? to see agree with him on abortion and getting rid of the filibuster? they have to think of what's coming in november. more than likely republicans are going to take control for sure of the house, but more than likely the senate, as well. if they go to the filibuster there will be another republican president in the future and a republican senate, and you blow up this historic norm of the senate where you have a requirement where both sides have to work together to find compromise on legislation. that will be a thing of the past, dagen. this is bad for america to get rid of the filibuster. again, i'm not sure he's going to be able to do it, but what concerns me is he is going all in on abortion and all in on making sure abortion rights exist nationally in the country. why doesn't he have that same
8:05 am
kind of effort for american energy? why doesn't he fight that hard on gas prices? why doesn't he find that hard on prices in the grocery store? if you put that kind of energy and focus on the real pain americans are feeling, he could probably do something. he doesn't seem to care about that, that he cares about abortion rights? glass way americans think he's out of touch >> dagen: it's a hardship for so many americans. it's not just an inconvenience. certain one of the reason that his polls are hitting a little. the real clear politics average is 30%. that's the lowest of his presidency. a new eight people make friends overwhelming amount of voters, 85%, thinks the u.s. is going in the wrong direction. so joe biden is going to step up to try to codify abortion rights at the federal level when only
8:06 am
51% -- this is a fox news poll -- 51% think abortion should be legal, 48% think it should be illegal. >> if you dive deeper in the polls, that's the number one issue for voters. even if someone is pro-abortion, they also probably have bigger issues and their families, like the prices of just leaving come of it has become unaffordable under joe biden. again, dagen, this is not complicated. if joe biden would stop pushing clean energy and partner with american energy companies we could produce more oil, more gas, and drop the prices down, but instead joe biden doesn't care about high gas prices for america. he's pushing his green energy policy. if he was focused on saying, "you know what? we are going to invest in america. we have supply chain issues but we will invest back in america and make sure we bring businesses back home, bring jobs back home. the supply chain exists as opposed to this massive global
8:07 am
supply chain." he would get a lot of positive feedback. voters give you a lot of grace. there is a lot of forgiveness that voters will give you as long as you are working to fix the problem that exists in their lives. but if you don't give a damn, dagen, they won't forgive you, which is why the poll numbers are so low. and if he doesn't pivot, these numbers are not going to correct and democrats will get wiped out in november. steel and tea gasoline and in this country. but to put pressure on joe manchin and susan collins because they were very vocal
8:08 am
about overturning roe v. wade. they were accused of lying inaccurately by collins and joe manchin, so that seems to be the focus of the democrats if they are going to try and get rid of the filibuster and pass legalization of abortion nationally. >> you are right. what we have seen those joe manchin is he doesn't cave to pressure. he stood up against build back better, this massive spending package. they put massive pressure and protested his home, his boat, and his office, and that there is a hope that we keep the issue of abortion to the voters into the states. that ill be joe manchin he saves us. but that is yet to be seen. >> dagen: yet turn the senate into the house of representatives. no offense, as a former congressman. >> you don't want that. you want a majority body in the

house and a deliberative body in the senate. you're absolutely right, bad for america. steele and sean, stay right there, move on to this. a brutal killing on new york city's upper east side. a 20-year-old mom pushing her baby in a stroller, murdered, shot to death. police say a gun and shot the victim in the head at point-blank range while she was with her 3-month-old baby. it's now being investigated as a domestic violence incident. police have identified a person of interest. mayor eric adams with this. >> we are going to find this person who is guilty of these horrific crimes. we are going to find him and bring him to justice. we need the justice system to make sure this innocent person receives that justice. that they are for. >> david lee miller live in new york city. david? >> dagen, this shooting has attracted a great deal of attention because it happened on new york's upper east side.
8:10 am
this is a neighborhood that is associated with considerable wealth and also considered one of the safest neighborhoods in new york city. the shooting took place around dusk near a playground. police have not identified the woman he was killed. she was 20 years old, as you mention. she was pushing her 3-year-old in the stroller when she was shot in the head, seeming the execution-style. police believe this is domestic violence and a person of interest is being sought. the shooter is on the run and described as wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. only a few blocks away from where the shooting took place, he expressed the outrage shared by many new yorkers. >> and a mother is pushing a baby carriage down the block, or an individual or a woman is pushing a baby carriage down the block, and is shot at point-blank range, this shows just how this national problem
8:11 am
has impacted families. >> according to the latest data from the nypd, compared to a year ago, the murder rate in the city is down and so is the number of people shot in shooting incidents, but rape, robbery, and felony assault are all on the rise. up 38%, and other cities are seeing a surge in overall crime. back here in new york city, new york, city, crime-fighting is becoming more difficult. according to published report, a record number of cops have recently added decided to resign or retire in many of them say, dagen, they are simply sick and tired, fed up with what they call the revolving door justice. back to you. >> dagen: david lee miller, thank you so much. crime is soaring not just in new york city and los angeles but in democrat-run cities across this nation.
8:12 am
chicago in utter shambles. one stock example from earlier this month, shocking video showing a suspect opening fire on a group of police officers during a traffic stop. one officer was hit twice in the arm and torso. he spent about a leak in the hospital. police did shoot the suspect. he has recovered and now in custody. the city's crime crisis has small business owners and corporations packing their bags and shipping out. robbery, burglary, and vehicle theft, all of more than 20% since the same time last year. theft spiking 65% during that time. sean duffy is back with me. the same thing goes for all these major cities, sean. money talks only when money walks, and that means that jobs in the cities, like it or not, suffer a downward financial spiral that forces these leaders to fix these crime problems. >> you are right. when people with money say "i've
8:13 am
had enough" and they leave, they don't have tax revenue coming in to the cities and the states and they might change their ways. but when democrats promise us that they'll reimagine law enforcement and attack police officers and let criminals go free and we would be safer, we now see that's an absolute lie. democrats have been lying to us. our communities are far less safe and there is far more violence in our cities. it's not just money leaving, but it's also when you have new york city -- republicans are going to have a hard time winning. the years of mary giuliani are gone. but if you get three or 4% of new york city switching their votes because they are sick of crying and saying "i don't like kathy hochul him i'm going to vote for lee zeldin, a republican who will help us do something in the city," lee zeldin can win in new york city. same for chicago. chicago switches by three or four points, the rest of the state's republican. a republican can win the governor's race. again, this is politically devastating potentially for
8:14 am
democrats because, again, these deep blue cities, if they change just a bit, there are so many votes in the outlying parts of the state are red. that's the thing, less revenue, and in this election the policies will change. >> dagen: you know what kathy hochul is doing with the supreme court loss for new york with the conceal and carry expansion? again, it was too owners in new york but the supreme court ruled that maybe they could execute the second them and try to protect themselves. she is stepping up to ban people from carrying firearms in as many places of business, unless the business is put up signs that say you can have a gun on our premises. that's what she's doing here, because she like all the other democrats, like joe biden, they don't like these supreme court rulings. on this note, there is a new report from the fbi, or from fbi data, that says the lack of police resources has led to the
8:15 am
lowest solved murder rate in 2020 ever reported. police across the nation only solving 54% of murder cases. this means no punishment for criminals and no closure for the victims' families and loved ones. >> which means you have more crime. this is simple, if my government and law enforcement can't protect me and my family, i want to protect myself. get me a gun if you won't do it and let me protect my family, my business, and my home. until they do that, shame on kathy hochul. do your job where let us carry guns and protect ourselves. >> dagen: we've covered a lot. thank you so much for being here. great to see you always. >> happy fourth. >> dagen: you, as well. i have lots of red, white, and blue to wear. lots of the stripes, they have to be vertical so you don't look wide, but that's a female problem.

what does this mean? kamala harris with a bizarre backtrack after guaranteeing a 2024 run for biden and her. and the president's border crisis looking grimmer than ever. >> they are the ones playing politics with immigrants and innocent children coming into this country. protecting our borders, securing our borders, it shouldn't be political. it's about saving human lives. >> dagen: more information on the horrific deaths of hundreds of migrants and heated words between the vice president and the governor of texas. plus, big reaction to the supreme court decision on the remain in mexico policy. griff jenkins live at the border in texas and brandon judd, president of the national border patrol counsel, next. ♪ ♪
