airport, there is a lot going on with delta pilots, who were off duty yesterday picketing at the airport. this will be a busy travel day, main checkpoint line is about 10 minutes, which is good news, we expect the line to get busier throughout the day and weekend and according to flight aware, 382 domestic flights are delayed, 189 of them are cancelled, this is a trend we expect to see through the holiday weekend. more than 400 delta pilots were picketing at hartsfield jackson. they are demanding better work conditions and pay, they are working long hours to meet all the flights and the demanding flight schedule. delta is offering travel waivers so customers can change their

flights. they have warned customers there may be delays and cancellations. airlines are dealing with staffing shortages, adding to chaos. at hartsfiel jackson, there are only about 30 delays right now and main security checkpoint moving along fine, as well. the line could be a 30-minute wait, we are encouraging people to get here two hours early, be prepared to stand in line, it's a chaotic summer, we've been here through many holiday weekends and talked to frustrated customers about delays and cancellations. >> carley: hope it stays that way, thank you for joining us. 4th of july, americans will spend $10 more for barbecue compared to last year. the

gimenez, good morning congressman. >> good morning, how are you guys doing? >> joey: wonderful. let's talk filibuster, we know the democrats want to change it every time they have an issue that might benefit them. where are we in congress that you think someone on the democrat side perhaps west virginia senator might not vote for this and is dead on arrival? >> i think so, senator joe manchin has said clearly on many occasions he is not in favor of busting up the filibuster. he knows he will find himself on the minority and this is the way to moderate the senate. the senate is the place where laws are moderated and thank god for joe manchin, a lot of stuff the democrats tried to push forward like build back better, he held strong and that wasn't pushed through.

i think the same would hold true for this abortion, trying to overturn the ruling by executive or legislative action. we'll see what happens with manchin, he is pretty much in favor of keeping the filibuster. >> carley: how do you feel about president biden criticizing the supreme court? there was a time presidents didn't do that, it seems that time is over. >> look, president biden is unhinged and he should not have done that, this is third branch of government, co-equal branch of government. i applaud their decision, it goes back into the state, it should have not been a judicial decision 50 years ago, i applaud what he did and obviously he

doesn't. certain states have basically abortion on demand, that is law of the land today, it is up to the state and people to decide how that will play out in their particular state and rightly so, supremedecision. >> joey: supreme court is drawingire of democrats in a lot of ways. chuck schumer had his own meltdown yesterday saying this maga regressive supreme court is trying to set america back decades. the maga court rule nothing west virginia versus epa will cause more needless deaths in response to ruling against the epa, how many people have died from pollution? do we have a number on that? do you need to have congressional hearings on how the pa is saving lives that way?

>> the epa and across the board, congress has not done a good job in establishing what it wants and gives way too much power and delegates too much to the bureaucrats, we need to take control back in congress and i think that is what this ruling indicates, this is a congressional issue, the congress did not give you that power and you can't assume congress gave you that power. a great example will be what we have to do with the decision, with remain in mexico, right? the supreme court said the executive decision they can overturn executive decision. we give too much power to the executive branch, we need to eshg new mexicoerate immigration. immigration on the southern border, they need to remain in mexico and there is no ifs, ands or buts about it, that will be

the law of land. in congress, we've given up too much power to executive branch and unelected bureaucrats. >> carley: we'll see if there is a shift in power in in 2024, that bill you are introducing may become law, we'll see on that. what is going on at airports with delays? what is go og here, what needs to happen to fix this and how much longer is all are of the cancellations be taking place? >> we'll have cancellations for sometime, as long as airlines are having trouble filling slots with pilots, that will be an issue and you can only fly so many hours due to our regulations, we need to look and see if the hours are actually needed, can we expand those hours? they used to be longer.

air traffic controllers do we have a sufficient number of air traffic controllers? some issues caused by faa not having sufficient number of air traffic controllers. we need more people to work in the industry, both as air traffic controllers, pilots, flight attend antss, they are all in short supply. they can only staff so many planes, airlines have to hire more people. this is something happening across the nation, different types of jobs, people are looking for people to work, we have 10 million job openings right now in the united states chltz where did they go? i don't know where folks went. we are seeing it everywhere. >> carley: congressman carlos gimenez, have a great 4th of july weekend o. this
