half years. i was chairman of the oversight committee and the waynt they treated democrats versus republicans i like with my former colleague trey gowdy had to say in this he said they never saw an investigationy that they thought the republicans could justify and they never saw i an investigation by the democrats they ever thought should end. all weha want them to do is report the facts. and supposedly the new yorkts times and the washington post and all these big names that we grew upna with , they can't seem to get the basic facts right. >> that's the problem. kurt, looking where we're at right now, what worries me in the big picture is if b you change the rules, if you decide that in football you don't need 10 for first down, you just need eight and they just start playing with eight yards is the first down. when you start lookingt atking the supreme court instead of a coequal arm of justice of the government, you start criticizing it. if it's c beneath you and you're doing it overseas, i worry

about the big picture because the average person walks around and thinks the country is falling apart. well, it is falling apartev everything from airplanes that can't get to where go to baby formula you can't find in the stores. and we got this alleged president of ours staggering around, oversees criticizing our institutions. we don't need that . but but look, changing a the rules is a bad idea. and the you could tell it's a bad idea by the last week of supreme court l verdicts, the, the democrats decided they were going to change the rules about the filibuster for circuit court appointees when president trump came in , mitch mcconnell said , well, ifa you change the rules in one place, we're changing for supreme court nomineesow and well, now we got worse. cavanaugh and coni barrett, it comes around to bite him. >> jason , now we're talking about the democrats got together and huddled up at

the white house to talk to the president on how to have a kind of an abortion. and they're talking about maybe setting up tent cities m and parks. they're starting to say maybe we could do this inay federal locations. i mean, it's as if we forgot what abortion is . no one ever thought this was a preferable surgery, as if it's chemo getting it through cancer. it seems as though people are making abortion seem like the ultimate positive, getting away from what it actually doesa . >> yeah, i think the democrats d are just absolutely. they're just they're just without an issue to run on going into the campaign. they think this is the one gift that they can do and they're overpromising. yet they're trying to say that roe versus wade taking that and pushing it down to aor the states so that the states get to make these decisions. i think there are millions ofe people are going to wake up d a few months from now and say weathertech they didn't get rid of abortions. my state of california orig massachusettsht or new york ,
12:07 am
you're getting more abortions than ever. i and alls they're saying is that the people get to make those decisions in those states and they're trying to scare people. it'sstat the only issue that thy have to run on . t but they're running on a fallacy by overstating what the supreme court actually did. and the last thing, talk about the evolution of joe biden. i mean, he's been he's been in congress since two years after this decision came out and the evolution of biden in abortion in nineteen seventy four the year throws aside. he said when it comes to issues like abortion, i'm about as liberal as a grandmother. i don't like the supreme court decision on abortion. righink it went too far . i don't think a womant has the sole right to say, well, what should happen to her body? fast forward to 2006. he didn't even view abortion as the right thing was always a tragedy. but in 2008, barack obama's running mate, joe biden, agreeds that roe was a very good decision. so that is why he gote the question in madrid. are you really the best messenger when itt comes to roe v. wade? kurtssen?
12:08 am
well, w look, i think it's prety terrible messenger for . erything, not just abortion look, you know, far be it for me to say something good about bill clinton, but you got to assess your opponents objectively. i learned in the army bill clinton was a great politician and heo created the formulation safe, legal and rare. it's a formulation that even reached out to people who didn't believe in abortion and said, look, it's not a gooda thing. we just want we want to g keepp it safe and we want to make it rare. and that was very successful. now you've got these lunatics shouting their abortion. who does that ? that's insane. that's crazy. it's always a tragedy and they're embracing i think they're driving away normal people who really don't want to talk abouting a subject they fd kind of distasteful and veryis painful and i don't want to stop my opponents from making mistakes. but d i joe biden so i guesss i really don't have j a choice. >> do one thing i like to say

courageous, which is the end of this . jason , real quick, we're self-correcting country. things have to get severely bad to understand how bad they are.s whenub there's subtle, you can debate it. it's getting so bad. harris just did a poll. seven of ten people surveyed do to run form president again. do you believe as a country, not as different parties, we're starting to seertin see the fort through the trees? yeah, i do. i think truth surfaces. america tends to figure these things out. they're smart. they understand they plowed through the the information themselves and america alwaysre gets it t right. we're the greatest nation on the face of the planet. and there's a reason why and we figure these things out. >> all right, kurt, final thought. >> look, i'm an optimist about america. i serve my country for twenty seven years in the military. i lived overseas. i saw other countriesedmp in comparison.
12:10 am
we've got likear they say on those home improvement shows ,america's got good a bones. and i think we will be back and i think we're goinget to be baco better than ever. we just got to get through two more years of this doddering, senile old . but we'll do it. we'll be back. >> okay, i'm going to take some something positive out of that . thanks, guys . appreciate it. have a great fourth. all right. i want to turn now to some breaking news in new york. democrats have just passed a massive restrictions on concealed carry in the waked of the supreme court's decision to expand c gun rights and alloa the second amendment to existll in places like new york .ng after passing both chambers in a special session today, governor hochul signed into law moments ago a measure banning concealed carry pretty much everywhere. >> listen to this list. we are creating a definitive list of sensitive locations for individuals will not be able to carry firearms, restaurants, bars, public transportation, subway busses and in times square.
12:11 am
>> all right. that's just the start. that is went on and on and on . this effectively neuters concealed carry in a city where crime is rampant and now in orderte to get a permit to carry in the few places that are left, you better be ready to fork over your social media history. let's see if a lawsuit ensues. potential firearm owners will be asked to divulge all social media accounts maintained over the past three years, as well as provide references attesting to their good moral character. my next guest will get plenty of those references. >> he is the republican nominee to the governor's race in new york city.y. he is going to be taking on governor local congressman lee zeldin, welcome . what is your take on the new gun laws in response to the supreme court decision in new york? >> i think it's terrible. and here we are going into independence day weekend and this is the gift to law abiding new yorkers. i think that we need to separate a law abiding new yorker who wants to safely
12:12 am
and securely carry a firearm for solely their self-defense and the criminals who want to carry firearms illegally and commit offense after offense after offense harming others. and then because of the system in new york, they keep ending up back on the streets. now, what they're doingha with this action todayt up in albany is targeting the law abiding new yorker . i don't think they're making new york more safe. they're making new york less safe. they're creating these locations as targets because now as a criminal, if you wanted to carry out one of your acts of targeting someone with an illegal firearm, you know that you're likely to encounter less resistance because the only people who care about these laws passed thaly today are the law abiding citizens. so for people just to put it in layman's terms, the supreme court looked at this andms said the second amendment really, but take it away from places like new york and really concerned six other cities you can have a concealed carry
12:13 am
permit issue. butie in a two page insert, justice cavanough came out and said, listen, name some places to restrict to bring guns like courthouses, ac like schools like times squaree and then just name c, but they'e simply gone over the top . don't you think this invites another lawsuit? ? yeah, exactly. it's almost as if they sawlm what the supreme court did and then they wanted to go evene further than they went earlier. in a way, they just went even worse than what the supreme court just said was unconstitutional. so nowow they are inviting another lawsuit and now you're wasting the judicial system's time because it's going to have to go through that entire process g. the supreme court t is going to have to decide again and it'st showing a lack of respect for the rule of law and the lack of respect for the constitution. thirty five million dollars. thirty five million dollars will be set aside too make sure
12:14 am
new york is a welcome place for abortions. that was also put forward by the governor today as she brought that up, talking about different places to provide abortions for states that might be banning p for the most part. what's's your reaction? thirty five million dollars to have more abortions? no. the reason why governor hochul is pushing this is because shehe doesn't want to talkk about the issues that matter most new yorkers and the state is going in the wrong direction. she doesn't want to talk about crime and public safety. she doesn't want to talk about people struggling to afford to survive in new york, whether it's getting your own home or it's the cost of gas and just the overall cost of living c. so she's trying to find some other way to activate her base because they don't really like her . new yorkers have not had a very good first impression of governor hochul. there's a lack of excitement, enthusiasm. they don't think that she's doing a good job. soxcxc she's trying to put fear into people on the issue of
12:15 am
abortion and try to divide people. and i think this is this isn't about being pro-life or pro-choice. s she's going to the extent i that this is pro abortion. sshe's trying to go on the national scene to be the chief promoter of it as if it's a great thing that more and more people should consider writing. >> congressman, i want to hear i do want to hear this suggestion that you just made today about where w abortions could be taking place. >> tell mehed ifg you can get behind this , mr. president, we'd ask that youid consider your ability toen use federal facilities. when i talk about veterans hospitals, military basesy and other places where the federal government whe contn the jurisdiction in some of the states that are hostile towo women's rights and make sureme that those services can be available to other women military bases are a good move . no, absolutely not.o, and it's a really it's sad
12:16 am
that this is somebody who really at this pointha desperate to get a fourt year term as governor this november is trying to get this creative. you have this opportunity. the president of the united states is sitting there in front of you could advocate for whatever you want to advocate for and you're not advocating for anything. that is why new york leads the entire country populationul loss. you have these forums and you could be making asks for help for resources, for leadership, for competency. and you're putting all of that aside, you know, just to a grandstand and try to again activate your base and instill fear upon them. >> we won the nomination. of people say you have the best shot of a republican since george pataki actually won and beat mario cuomo. lywhat is going to take for you to be lieutenant t governor now governor hochul, we're all in for the next four months. we're going toon we be campaigng our tails off all acrosshe

this state. it's not just about republicans and conservativestate.and, but independents, democrats. they're disenfranchized democratss. if you are concerned about rising energy costs, well, then let's reverse a ban on the safet extraction of natural gas. one party, democratic rule wants to ban all gas hookups on new construction statewide. let's repeal cast a spell. she says we need more data. oh ,d by the way, when people were asking her the question yesterday about this new legislation and she's passing, she said she doesn't need any s data in order tohe act. i say let's fire alvin bragg. he's refusing to enforce the law. kathy hochul says he just got there. cut him some slack. he's doing his job. so the contrast is stark. we need to bring that message to new yorkers of allll stripes and all counties in new york and win this race to save new york is four congressman. he does know new york . he's represented a very purpleun district in suffolk county for four different terms. weaseledty the best of luck. >> y thank you , brian. brian. >> you got you got it.

calculated inflation in the 1980s, we'd already be squarelyn in jimmy carter territory. and he j joins me right now. he's also a visiting fellow at the heritage foundation. eddie, how many of us remembered what happened during the carter years? and more importantly, what do you mean we calculate differently now? >> well, back in 1988, re the, the the bureau of labor statistics changed the way that it calculated inflation. it took housing costs out of inflation and substituted an analysis of what rent is tof account for the increase in housing. so larry summers, who was the secretary of the treasury under clinton and the head of the council of economic under president obama, coauthored a report that came out last weekha that said, look, if we were if we were computing this the same way we computedin it back in 1983, inflationg would already be where it was during the carter administration. it is , as you know, that led to one of the most severere

recessions that we've had in recent memory and interest a rates are up around 20%. so we are the economy is in real trouble here . >> we are we are almost almostin definitely within a technical recessionit right now. i think the american people have been intuiting that we've been in a recessione for months to bite. the administration may not have figured it out, but the american people haveg ti and we're soon going to find out that we are not technically in a recession will be for quite a while. >> and then what which means to consecutive cycles of negative growth. but andy, let me let me ask you this. how do we get out of recession without and avoid inflation again? bring inflation down without raising interest rates to equal where inflation is ? so we're at five pointat something percent right now on interest rates. if it is right now, inflation is at eight point three percent. they say if you want to beat it ,need it. so we have to brace ourselves for a 10, 12% interest rate
12:26 am
where no one is going to have to brace ourselves for interest rates much higher than that . it to took paul volcker had to during during the reagan administration to beat inflation the last time it was decided to take interest rates up to 20%. we're now at one point five percent, you know, so even to get halfway there, we've still got a lot of pain to go through if we want to avoid some of the interest rate damageom, the only thing you really can do is increase the supply of goods out there. we can increase the supply of goods and services because inflation is a mismatch of demand and supply right now. demand d side supply is low and you could increase you could increase supplyy by cutting regulations, by reducing taxes, by focusing domestic energy production. president biden could go two steps to the whiteco house and say we are back in the oil business. we're going to sign leases,ea we're going to grant permits, we're going to build pipelines. we're going to banks to finance drilling.
12:27 am
and the price of oil would drop because oil is basedd not only on actual supply but the price of it b is also based on anticipated supply. the world anticipate there's going to be a lot of oil. the price will come down by couldn't do these things. in reality, he just can't do them politically. e jbecause of the far left of his party. absolutely would go insane. he's only got 38% now in the real clear politics average the polls. he could lose that thirty eight percent if he does the things that genuinely help the american people this year. brian deese. today the national economic council, the head of the national economic council. biden's going to get that show. i mean, he's saying, you will get it when he was faced with the fact that , you know, oil prices of gas prices are up, they asked him why is that? what do you say goes, well, we got to s defend the liberal word order? >> i it's ridiculous. i know. any final thought on this return policy that wal-mart, target and a few other major companies, they are soo
12:28 am
backlogged, so overwhelmed that they say if you want ton return something, we'll pay you the money back . just give us the product back . how desperate is that? i mean, it's so easy for abuse. what has to happen is your economy, but that's h actually the best option. >> well, what's happening to our economy is that money is increasing i, becoming worth less so that your peoplele are very concerned about these these savings accounts that we are hearing about in that that intro that you gave those people. they're seeing their savings accounts are melting like iceac cubes. the moneyco that they are earnig their wages, while they may be getting increases in wagesou the wages are worth less because inflation is exceeding wage increases. si you'retu in a situation where people are feeling like they do need to return goods. r maybe they don't need the things that they they toms protect themselves against what any policiesel. >> they really wrecked
12:29 am
this economy right? >> right. and he knows better. he's choosing not tote do it. h he cares more about his party. >> does the country. andy, thanks. >> what do you say to thosese families who say, listen, we can't affordd to pay for eighty five a gallon for months, if not years? this is just not sustainable. but what you heard from the president today was a clear articulation of the stakesm t. i >> this is about the future of the liberal world order and we have to stand firm. what the hell is he talking about? the white house is practically writing midterm ads for the republicans. this point that was president biden's economic adviser. his name is brian deese. dismissing real world problems like not being able to afford gas to get to work as we sacrifice in middle america and the middle class have to live paycheck to paycheck doesn't payeck your bills because of the liberal world order. >> joininglibe now, a man who probably understands the part of the mostly former democrat turnedor republican new
12:30 am
jersey's jeff van drew and newn york congresswoman claudia tenney. first to you , jeff. what is he talking about?, liberal world order. >> what the hell is he talking about is a good question. and i will tell you that he is telling the truth fromte his perspectivell. this is what these people want. this is what the liberal majoritys want actually inaj congressor. >> it's what the liberal majority wants in every aspect. the billionaires that are around the world, the wolke and the crazy celebrities that are out there. twhat they want to do real quick, they want to makee sure that we don't have a supply chain. they want to make sure we don't have real law and order. they want to makerd sure that or borders are open and that we're just letting everybody come in . they want to make sure that anybody any time everywhere m can vote if they want to. they're trying tohe change america into the part of the global new world and this globalal order.
12:31 am
and ior know we had some people on before, brian, that were very positive in saying things are going to be good and they're right in a way, but they're only going to be good if we stand up, if we fight, if we believe in what we say, we have a real responsibility too the republican party . now we have to move forward and we have to change so many things that are happening that are so destructive. >> so when you hear that from them, they're saying what they really believe, what you said , it's not in our interests. claudia tenney, i want you to hear this sound bite. and i t think it i think it will tell you a lot because this is a so-called moderate l democrat, even though sheot vots with joe biden all the timede who's desperate to hold on to her seat. >> listen, i intend to do the campaigning myself. i am the candidate. it's my name da on the ballot. certainly when i first ran, i ran in an hour plus seven district and i won in that seat by getting out speaking to voters.
12:32 am
so she was asked, do you want joe biden to come campaign for you ? after all, you're in virginia. it's a short ride. just grab the beep. go inho there and he'll have some fun. >> raise some money. she saysun no thanks. why exactly. no democrat wants joe biden campaigning for him. tim ryan dodged the question and he's running for senate in ohio. meanwhile, republicans are clamoring to get president trump's endorsement, which mostly gets you in the lead or at least put your head. but i love with dr. van drew said he's talking about this liberal world order. they're talking about elitism and arrogance and they're in need. an obsession with power and control. the supreme court last week in the last couple of weeks have delivered freedom and individual rights to the american people. and what's the reaction to double down on taking those rights away? again, look at r new york . it is a perfect incubator of a exactly what not to do. kathy hochul is literally the embodiment of poweran,
12:33 am
control, obsessive power and abuse of power. like nancyks just pelosi and the way that she governs today, you know, taking away our gun rights after they were you know, they were finally given back to us civil rights type of case and shed takes them away energy. they're trying to shut down it our energy as the crimegy problem. everything that you look to in new york, the democrats have got power and they're abusing and they're hurting americans and they don't care . right. and you had so much to do with that. the second amendment actually being returned to states like new york . it must kill you to see theseno restrictions put in . maybew, the courts will push back . and jeff, finally with you, henry clay came out and fought back a primary challenge from his left. he is a pro-life democrat who's strong in the border. you were a moderate democrat and they basically almost tried to kick you out to you want republican when henry cuellar says, let me be me, what is your reaction? >> he's saying it to the left. well, they should let him
12:34 am

welcome back. >> happy friday night. time for the top culturalisttac stories of the week. joining me now is amela stepanova, a prager university personality and former leftist activist. that's how we describe her . amla. we have a lot to get through today. so let's jump intovi arere you ready? >> i'm ready.. >> all right. let's go .cele the pima county democrats in arizona are celebrating independencebr day at a f the fourth event. >>, the group deleted the tweet promoting the event after fox news station requested a statement on it. it's no surprise democrats would support an event like this . eport lwhen they hear this kindf stuff in the media watch. media >> it is a. very challenging fourth of july and really many of us are saying rather than use cookouts to celebrate the news to all, not now this country is moving
12:41 am
back toward a rule this year where democracyac means nothing know your reaction? i mean, it's unbelievable to hear, but it's really not when you look at the ideology that is running i behind some of these ideas. if you look at wogan's and i tell people the only natural progression of these ideas and this dogma is to really take down our systems, our institutions, our traditions, things like the fourth ofings july. because if you believe that this country is fundamentally racist, bigoted, patriarchal all the way to its core, what other option you have. butt to tear down everything that we have built from those times and fourth of july, unfortunately, is one of those a things that they're going to come afterft, even though they delete the tweets, the sentiment will still be there and it will still be expressedme. unbelievable. all right. eri can't really argue with it. i just think it could start fundamentally that if you don't like our country, we can make it better. but can we agree that this is the best country around? m, can we agree we're on the same team wearing the same jersey polling?
12:42 am
you pull in different directions, but let's agreeet'se that we're in the right place a let's move on . cornell university removed a bust of abraham lincoln and a plaque of the gettysburg address from its library, reportedly after some sort of complaint from one person, amala a.m. at the gettysburg address moved out of an ivy league institution moving lincoln out. >> what's going on here? i mean, it shows you how about how valuable colleges at this point? >> it's reallyy not worth seeking higher education in this country if this is what you're paying for , this is what you're getting. but f again, it is the natural progression we went through this whole area where we talked about the civil war and then the left wanted to take down all of theseow confederate statues. but when you take down history and you try to erase it or not talk about it or notou even have the discussion about why these things happen, guess what the good and bad history starts to wear away and starts to be taken away. and lincoln is one of those men . if l you look at the gettysburg address and what he said, he talked about standing on hallowed ground and about fighting for the ideals
12:43 am
that these menad fought and died for in this country. but we don't value that anymore. as far as the woke are concerned, they don't care about what was fought for. they don't care about american ideals. so who cares if you get rid of a lincoln statue and a one complaint is all it takesll to make that happen. >> all right, listen, if we can't agree on lincoln in thee gettysburg address, i don't know where we go . but i remember president trump pointed it out. you still pullingur down these statues? are you going to come from washington and jefferson next ? the answer is yes. meanwhile, let's move on how sesame street is doctorates indoctrinating our kids. >> watch i superduper today getting your covid vecsey elmo . can elmo get vaccinated is the best way to keep himself our friends, neighbors and everyone else healthy and enjoying the things they loveev. >> all right. it's time for the children shows to have your parent tog teach you how to yo get vaccinated, to make sure your parents do it.
12:44 am
>> this concern you ? absolutely. it concerns me. i used to watch sesame streett and get messages about , abouts, about values friendship. now they're giving you medical advice which is sheerly pure propaganda. it's ridiculous. ganda and i want everybody to remember that sesame street is government funded. so that's probably where they're getting the money and being paid to put out a message like this that can be truly harmful to kids and their families. >> i mean, it's unbelievable. >> but i think as we pointed out then, people realize that might be an issue with it. i don't knowt how many times this needs to be said. we were over the vaccination. we're going to make our own decisions, especially when it comes to our toddlers as well as our teens. >> i'm okay.ge thanks so much. than thanksk for having me. >> all right. let's move ahead and why not move ahead to this ? never before been done has the ingraham angle managed to mesh with fox and friends. can this crossoverth actually happen? i say yes. er wwhy? because geneste is still up.
