11:05 pm
is the goal to wear out the russians or to defeat them? >> the goal is to make sure ukraine can continue to defend itself and can defend its sovereignty and its territorial integrity. you are the president talk about this at nato just a few days ago, we do not want to see ukraine defeated by russia. satisfy we are contending to rush aid and assistance $7 million of insistence that just in the united states alone to ukraine. >> our concerns this work could drag on for it most expected negotiated settlement will be required to end it. is it time for the president of the united states to push the russians and the ukrainians to the negotiating table? >> is time for the niceties to continue to support ukraine that is what we're doing. mr. zelenskyy, president zelenskyy gets to determine how victory is decided and what terms. what we are going to do is continue to make sure he can succeed on the battlefield so he can succeed at the table.
11:06 pm
even president zelenskyy able to lay the time is not now for those discussions. certainly president putin has shown no indication he's interested in negotiated talks. in fact quite the contrary not only lash out in the donbas conduct air price strikes in places like uvalde. >> you worry the restrictions are to restrict them for ukrainians and you worry about a skill make an entrance stalemate? >> they are skillful they are not working to defend territory. they have that a noble job of that. they are on the counter offensive. their counterpoints they struck back in she might remember it's a town the last several weeks ago. they are striking back. they've willing to go on a counteroffensive but i cannot speak to crane rules on the battlefield. i can tell you they are fighting bravely, skillfully and quite creatively. >> okay president biden tweeted less that my message to the company's running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple. this is a time of war and global
11:07 pm
peril. bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost to our fake paying for the product and do it now. jeff bezos tweeted late last night ouch, inflation is far too important a problem for the white house to keep making statements like this. other straightahead misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of basic market dynamics, how do you respond? >> it's neither in terms of present biden's view. the american people are facing paint at the pump we are now at 5a gallon for the president is working very, very hard across many fronts to try to bring that price down for the g7 working trying to develop a price cap on russian oil. asking congress to support a three month holiday for the gas tax. and of course releasing now at 1 million barrels of oil out of the strategic -- a record number barrels of oil out of our strategic reserve to try to bring that price down.
11:08 pm
he knows that's not going to solve all of the problems but it will help if everyone cooperates on this because bring the price down by at least a dollar a gallon. so he is working very, very hard to do this. he knows at gas prices have on the household. >> pretty serious allegation for a business mogul have to of the "washington post". ask anybody who knows president biden knows he's plainspoken they tells exactly what he is thinking. in terms that everyone can understand. take great exception and somehow misdirection. the present speaking honestly with the american people about what he is trying to do to bring the prices down. he was honest even before the invasion about the fact it would not be cost free. so they not cost free to president putin paper not for cost free to the american people for setting up for democracy. stand up ukraine's ability to defend itself or. >> is expected to travel overseas to the with the middle leaders of the middle east to talk my gasoline prices. a potentially meeting with the
11:09 pm
saudi's let's play it. >> i guess i will see the king and the crown prince. but that is not the meeting i'm going to break they will be part of a much larger meeting. all the gulf states are meeting i've indicated to them i thought they should be increasing all production not to the saudis particularly. >> doesn't matter if he discusses oil production with the saudi's individually or in a group meeting? >> the president is going to the gulf cooperation council for that is the purpose for this trip for the saudi is the hope of host of the gcc. they have let it quite well. the president is looking forward to a range of topics we have to discuss. energy is going to be on it and of course the president will talk about energy security in the context of the gcc. he will have a bilateral discussion the king and the king's leadership team.
11:10 pm
there's an awful lot on this agenda, mike, we cannot forget. clearly it's an important global issue right now for the press understands at sardis terrorists for the war in yemen we are in a second extension that the united states help with our engagement, help get us back to the saudi's. then of course there is the issue of climate change. there is a lot going on in the gcc the presence and forward to discuss. >> we follow up no one-on-one meetings with the king or crown prince? >> the president will have bilateral discussion with king selmont and his leadership team. chrissy crown prince is on that leadership team. as you heard the president say so expects he will be seeing the crown prince and the context of that bilateral discussion. mike: you work countries and that middle east may not be willing or able to increase production to impact prices here at home? >> i do not get ahead of the
11:11 pm
janet what they want to decide. i would just note that already opec has increased by 50% previously scheduled increases for july and august. so going into the rest of the summit they've already increased again by half plan increases for oil production. we'll see what happens as a result of this meeting. and where things go. the president understands increased oil production can help. which is another reason why he has tapped into our strategic reserve of 1 million barrels a day. that's an awful lot that goes into energy security that is not just about oil production. again the presence and forward have that discussion. >> the presence but this week about inflation let's play it. >> i can understand why the american people are frustrated because of inflation. inflation is higher than on most every other country. prices the pump are higher than ups every other country. where better position to deal with this than anyone. but we have a way to go for it
11:12 pm
take a look inflation numbers for major economies. there are many inflation lower than the u.s. as of may average inflation g7 countries is lower than it is in the u.s. are we in a better position to deal with inflation? >> the american economy is incredibly strong for yourself 3.6 at employment under present biden leadership now just the first year 9 million more jobs were added. that is not an economy that is in a recession for the present is right we have the foundational elements here in the american economy to whether through this and to come through it strongly and good on the outside of the other end of it. >> the president also made headlines in spain criticizing the supreme court. let's play that. >> the one thing that has been destabilizing is the outrageous behavior of the supreme court of the united states. overruling not only wrote the wade potentially challenging the right to privacy. we have been a leader in the world with terms of personal
11:13 pm
rights and privacy rights. >> is not appropriate on the world stage? >> the president was answering an honest and fair question from a reporter. he's answered it same home same tenor. spoke about the decision is very consistent was answering a reporter by he was to talk about the commish was of the summit were significant. the potential session of sweden and finland which will change the alliance forever. the inclusion of global partnerships at the nato alliance pay for the first time at austria, japan, south korea at a nato summit. and then of course the continued support to ukraine and a strategic concept for the first one and 12 years of mind to that not only talks but the threat that russia poses to european transatlantic security but also mentions china and the challenges posed by china.
11:14 pm
it is a wide ranging press conference pretty answered a question honestly and fairly easy same exact terms about his disappointment in the supreme court's decision as he did right here at home before he left. mike: us talk about possible star brittney griner on trial in russia. she could potentially face ten years in russia but her wife has expressed some frustration. >> do you trust the max amount of effort is being put forward to bring bg home? >> no i don't. and i hate to say that because i do trust the persons working on this that i do believe. but i don't think the maximum amount of effort is being done. six any plans of the president to meet with her or is a prisoner swap up for? >> everything on the president scheduled to speak to today. i can tell you is very much engaged in this and has been engaged with the team but that's
11:15 pm
not only in direct communication with ms. griner but also working very, very hard to get her released. she needs to come home. it is past time for the nicest government is very, very focused on her case as it is on the cases of other unjustly and wrongfully detained americans around the world. this is something the president takes a very, very seriously. >> remained in mexico policy the supreme court says you guys can wind it down. do not want to get into the nitty-gritty of the supreme court or the policy. i know that is not your specialty. but probably are you concerned about the impact at the border which is already facing very difficult times? >> we believe this remain in mexico policy was inhumane. it actually force people that were applying for asylum to go back to deplorable conditions unsafe conditions and to face the potential for further violence. being pushed back into mexico
11:16 pm
like that to wait. we are working our way through the supreme court decision. i will not get ahead of decisions here. we welcome this decision. we are going to be working hard at what the next steps will be. quickly with humanitarian crisis the border? you saw more than 50 maggots killed in a tractor-trailer. >> officer that is deplorable. i would make a couple of points here. number one, under present biden's leadership now we have really after human traffickers and smugglers. more than 2400 arrests just to date since april since we started this. and then look at the america spirit of the present sent los angeles a couple weeks ago for the first time getting more than 20 heads of states from the rage sign up to a migration declaration that for the first time, might, actually considers the root causes of a regional focus here. what is causing whether it is for economically, politically,
11:17 pm
or socially. the root causes that causing migrants to flow north into mexico and put pressure on the mexican government. they first signed out leaders across the region take a holistic approach to get at this root. to stop these migrants. mike: last one. what about your new role at the white house they see as a co- press secretary. >> no, no i'm just doubt the national security council for just trying to help with coordination of some of the comps efforts. it's a great honor and a privilege to be given this opportunity and very much excited about it. >> admiral john kirby thank you for your service. thank you for your time this independence day weekend. >> thank you. mike: up x both sides of the debate are frankfurt onslaught of lawsuits across the u.s. trade mississippi governor tate reeves joined us next on the legal child over his states trigger law. and what the law means for women's and doctors in his state.

>> a president continues to blast the supreme court ruling that overturned roe v wade. this week even with nine democratic governors to discuss next steps to preserve access. the marshal of the supreme court officials in maryland and virginia to enforce their jurisdictions laws against picketing outside a justices home. this comes as pro-choice advocates are suing over and laws and states. mississippi governor tate reeves on this complicated legal landscape. and the questions raised by his

states banned. turning south mississippi governor tate reeves. governor welcome back to fox news sunday. >> well, thank you for have me on today michael. >> mississippi attorney general's initiate steps to certify the states trigger law. they could go into effect after ten days but you are facing a legal challenge in the states only clinic. that kate sites assist primus court ruling we find the state constitutional right to privacy includes an implied right to choose whether or not to have an abortion. question, is your trigger law going to survive this legal challenge? and if so on what grounds? >> will yes we do believe our trigger law is going to withstand this particular challenge. as you know the court made their decision last friday. on monday of this pack week our attorney general did her duty under the law which is to certify that roe v wade was in fact overturned. it takes ten days for the trigger law to then go into effect.
11:23 pm
jackson women's health organization which is exact same organization that we were opposite in the supreme court case, then filed suit in state court. we are dealing with that. the chief justice of the supreme court has appointed a special judge to hear that case because the four chancellors in hinds county which is a court of jurisdiction recuse themselves. and so we are expressing a hearing sometime early this week. but yes, i do expect for the state law to be withheld -- make a pelt in the state corporate i do expect our trigger law to go into effect. mike: he planned to enforce the band even if the challenges still make its way to the courts? >> obviously were going to go through court system in the manner in which we are required to do. and unless there is an injunction which forces not to enforce it then of course are going to enforce the laws it currently exists. mike: now that you are preparing
11:24 pm
for this post is there a way to help women and children who are now going to be delivering? in other words has a pro life movement at the ship its efforts now to moms and babies? >> absolutely, mike you are exactly right. the fact of the matter is this entire court battle was never about winning a court case. it was always about creating a culture of life. that is exactly what we are doing here in mississippi. that is what we as a pro life mississippians and pro-life americans have to continue to do. we have to prove being pro-life is not simply about being antiabortion. and in our state we are enacting policies to do exactly that. mike: republican mississippi state said he and other law makes to be seeking legislation to remove the exception for rape. are you ready to sign a bill like that? >> i do not believe an exception for rape will actually make it
11:25 pm
through the mississippi legislature and make it to my desk. again there is a lot of effort. particularly in washington and other places mainly by the democrats to try to talk only about the small minor number of exceptions that may exist. as you know over 90% of all abortions done in america some 63 million babies lives aborted since roe was wrongly decided in 1973. over 90% of those are elective abortions. at the far left really believes what they want you to believe if they believe the american people were with them and for abortion on demand, that they would not be talking about all of these exceptions and minor numbers for they will be talking about abortion itself. >> wrote was overturned the american medical association released a statement calling the decision and egregious allowance of government intrusion into the medical examination room. are you concerned mississippi is intruding on medical decisions
11:26 pm
women make with their doctors? >> the roe decision was made by the united states supreme court based upon what our united states constitution says. they have had several opinions over the last couple of weeks in the left is going crazy on virtually every one of them per the only problem the left has is that they forget this one small document called the united states constitution. that is exactly what the court has upheld. primarily on six -- three votes of the last couple of weeks. the reality is if you read the constitution there is no guaranteed right to an abortion and the u.s. constitution. and therefore i think the court's gotten this one and the other cases they ruled upon exactly right. >> is there potential for confusion around the exception to save the life of the mother? researchers in texas spoke with clinicians have been navigating new abortion restrictions there in the last year. want to sink what people have to
11:27 pm
be on death's door to qualify for maternal exemptions. are you concerned confusion could impact pregnant women's health? >> look there's always the potential for confusion. when you look about the exception for the life of the mother in essence you have a true medical decision that has to be made by the physician because you have two lives at stake. yet the life at stake that is the unborn baby and that mother's womb. potentially the life at stake of the mother. that is a decision that should not be made, and my opinion, by politicians for that is a decision that should be read by doctors, physicians and trying to determine what is the best way to safely protect both lives hopefully. but certainly a decision has to be made at a moments notice. that is only for a physician to make. mike: a sec about differences between states that roe was no longer in effect. but its enforcement look like in your state? can a woman from mississippi simply travel to a different
11:28 pm
state and have a procedure? or would you try to stop her? >> and our safety enforcement is done by the state board of medical licensure program state board of medical licensure which actually oversees the practice of medicine in our state. they ensure that any physician that is practicing whether through telemedicine or otherwise, the innate physician practices in our state is practicing not only applying the standards of care that we require in our state but also based upon state law. so if a physician is attempting to practice medicine in the state of mississippi and they are violating our law than our state board of medical licensure will pull their license from them. but should doctors and other states be considered a prosecution? >> will certainly i think doctors in other states should be concerned about all kinds of things. but i am hopeful that can creating a culture and our united states by investing in pregnancy resource centers for the things we are doing it now to give the resources to mothers
11:29 pm
and babies that they need. i think it is incredibly important. we are going to convince those moms that yes this lives are freshest. their people in this world and people of the state of mississippi who left that only the moms but also the babies. we are looking through everything we can help create a forever home for every single baby in mississippi. we believe will save lives by doing so. >> what is to stop abortion medication from being sent into mississippi via the mail? >> was quite a step that is evidence of the board of medical licensure. they physician is practicing medicine in the state of mississippi they have have a license to do so. and if abortion is legal in our state, which it is, those medicines will not be allowed phil not have a license to practice in our state. cook said women mrs. bibby concerned about surveillance of their mail felons? >> i have no reason to believe they will be any surveillance of a mail or felons. but i do think the physicians
11:30 pm
are practicing medicine in our state without a license the nose physician should be very concerned about doing so. >> a political question sir, you have supported president trump. in 2020 talk about potentially running again. would you support him in 2024 or is there something that you have heard in the january 6 special committee that may give you pause or maim make you want somebody who can carry out his policies but with a fresh voice? >> well, like most americans i have not spent very much time paying any attention to the january 6 hearings. last couple of weeks he was in mississippi. is pleased pleased to welcome him to our state. there is no doubt in my mind were not for his conservative justices and by the way the campaign in 2016 was largely run on who had the ability to appoint supreme court justices. and therefore i believe
11:31 pm
president trump legacy is going to be creating a supreme court that focuses on the constitution. he's going to have to decide whether nice going to run for president that's a decision only he can make. then we will decide at that point. he certainly did a fantastic job as a president the effect of the matter is when you talk to americans and people in small towns across mississippi, things like inflation are what people are worried about. they're not worried about this trial that's being had by only one site in washington d.c. they are focused on matters to them and their pocketbooks. joe biden's inflation is really hurting everyday mississippians. mike: government thank you for talking with us but always wait to see you sir. >> might come think for having me on. mike: up next are sunday group about what happened generally six-page what to expect as the committee investigated the right drops a new subpoena.

mike: are defending allegations this week about actions of former president trump a senior staff both before and during the capitol right on january 6. former white house aide kassidy hutchinson testified under oath the president wouldn't join his supporters at the capitol. now there is some pushback about certain claims she made. david reports on the revelations, the file and what happens now. >> in bold truth and nothing but the troth soapy god? >> millions watch this week a former white house aide kassidy hutchinson described a president desperate to hang onto power on january 6, 2021. hutchinson told lawmakers then that president donald trump new sump and the crowd were armed recruits over the president say i don't care that they have
11:36 pm
weapons, they are not here to hurt me. i went to march the capitol from here for. >> or top secret service officials not white house, tony told her trump demanded to coach the capitol after his speech and hutchinson said she was told the president lashed out when he was told no pay. >> mr. trump then use his free hand to lunch and he recounted for the story much into his clavicle. >> the to deny the story attaching hutchinson's credibility and multiple social media posts. was not in the vehicle meeting hutchinson story is secondhand which is she does not refute. secret service spokesman told fox news the committee did not reach out to the agency the days leading up to the testimony but lawmakers on the committee are defending her credibility but. >> her testimony represented the cumulative information that the committee had received.
11:37 pm
we were simply of the mind the public needed to know about all this. hutchinson attorney said she stands by her testimony for the committee is in discussions with the secret service to allow an angle to testify for the committee also subpoenaed former white house counsel pat it's not clear if he will play ball, it might break. >> reporting from washington david many thanks. it's time now for sunday group. howie kurtz a host of media buzz, fox news potable analyst juan williams. "washington post" columnist mark and mollie hemingway the editor-in-chief of the federalist. welcome all of you happy independence day weekend. right howie the select committee has subpoenaed former white house counsel. what are your thoughts on what we heard this week from the white house aide the former white house aide and what is the impact? >> kassidy hutchinson testified under oath what she had been told bird summer x colleagues
11:38 pm
should testify under oath rather than us relying on spokesmen and leaks. look, here's how we know her testimony. donald trump is calling her a wacko, a leaker and elaborate some conservative commentators who have been dismissing the whole committee as a clown show, attacking her credibility and defending former president for this split on the right. mick motivating former white house chief of staff believes hutchinson. fairly be reporting now what we know cap based on this reporting, that trumps group paid for her previous lawyer which was interesting but also she says she got a phone call from an intermediate from her former boss, mark meadows saying donald trump is thinking about you pretty know she will be loyal. that is raise questions that could boomerang whether or not witnesses are being tampered with. mike: molly here's how they respond to the hearing the quote is steeped in partisanship that does not mean republican should
11:39 pm
move away from the considerable evidence it's producing that mrs surely be relevant to voters of your runs and 2024 is this moving the needle with gop voters? rockets into moving the needle in the opposite with the democrats and hope for proposer coming out should donald trump's popularity is increasing when he is up against joe biden's numbers are even better than they were before. that is not surprising for this is not legitimate committee for this the first time in history of punctually had members appointed by one party that is because nancy pelosi kicked off the top republicans on the committee and the other people on that committee are appointed by her. they are serving her purposes. if you are not getting a belt of information for this plenty people who testified to contradict what this aide had said for their testimony stopping shown or released in any way but you're not having cross-examination. americans generally don't like to see start chambers stalling it up to the democrats are doing. it's not working out for a while for them.
11:40 pm
mike: are right one let's get to generally six break works it's pretty overwhelming evidence it's coming from republicans these are republicans who are testifying under oath. in the case of mitch hutchinson she was a loyal trump worker and very much a person is not only hired by mr. meadows but a friend of mr. meadows. she is simply telling you what took place. and with regard to the generally six panel, let's not forget i think president trump has indicated he is disappointed that kevin mccarthy the republican leader in the house and did not choose to participate. it was kevin mccarthy's choice once nancy pelosi said no to two very provocative high energy trump ends. she had a choice and then he had a choice to say let me put other people on the panel. he has said he withdrew that was his choice.
11:41 pm
the fact that kassidy hutchinson giving important testimony but there is no cross-examination of her from somebody with the different point of view. most records look at that said that is unfair and illegitimate pride that is the problem may have thought the speakers dropped due to the republicans are going to be on the committee. the other problem i have is this is all captivating to always in the washington bubble, the democrats are sending a message this is the most important issue facing the country. a lot of americans are having to choose between gas and food parsing this out the most important issue to me. where are the hearings on the worst inflation in 40 years customer at the highest gas prices on record, the worse for the crisis the worst crime license in 1990s? all the things i mix printing every day. my "new york times" the washington loved it. this is not what most people are voting on or care about. >> that comes attempting to distract you but there's a group of people led by the united
11:42 pm
states who tried to undermine the united states government, led an insurrection. no one is rebutting her testimony. he knew there were people with weapons. he wanted to go up to the capitol and lead those people to stop the certification of an election. >> i do not disagree with you on that. what i'm saying is we had bipartisan hearing in bipartisan senate bird beheaded impeachment trial on this. and now we are having this for the effort is obviously political to try to read talks if i trump going into the election their freight is going to run. i think it is a backlash against democrats access to the american people you're not focused on what i care about. mel you had a comment? >> people are very concerned about political violence throughout 2020 and their cities are being burned down. when the white house were being attacked for months at a time. the police precincts were burned to the ground. nobody cared nobody did investigations with the american people were being harmed.
11:43 pm
you have one thing that has been condemned by people across the political spectrum for it has the only thing washington d.c. cares about. which really emphasizes for the american people that washington d.c. does not care about them. they just care about themselves. mike: to the supreme court ruling we again see calls for democrats to end the filibuster in the united states senate, how we but they do not have the votes. >> is obviously don't have the votes. yet president biden's and i am calling to suspend the filibuster bread for semi's ever done that for the press to say sorry mr. president you don't have the votes because kiersten sinemet and joe manchin are not in favor of a one-time suspension. that makes it look weak and ineffective to do that. beyond that the slow-growing complaints in the democrat needs to take bold action and stop making speeches about this. this is hurting him. we'll talk the next segment about midterms.
11:44 pm
but the same time give the state-by-state battle she talked to the governor mississippi about this but some democratic prosecutors say they're not going to enforce the law and the red state i don't see how they could possibly get away with that. i'm groups and the going to try to have legislation for citizens to sue any artwork to say words legal. finally of mike pence singlets have nationwide van kevin mccarthy says have a bad after 15 weeks but some republicans are nervous at the impact of a total ban. >> following the pro-life movement has been wanting to go after roe v wade for decades. now it's actually here in terms of getting the supreme court overturned that ruling. what is the impact for pro-life women of every age? >> it affects everyone a beautiful way for the pro-life movement has worked for 50 years to get rid of this really before we decided assertion from the supreme court. i have shown success of the conservative judicial movement, of churches, from people working
11:45 pm
for so long. i also want to point out what it has done has allowed people to debate this state level but you look at this internationally something like protecting unborn human life after 15 weeks is very standard internationally. that is of the dobbs decision allow states to do. i allows us to mark the rest of the world and how we protect unborn human life. place at some point. democrats are very radical position to defend. no restriction for any reason at any time in pregnancy. the end to end human life because your child is a girl, they think it should be legal. that is a very difficult political decision to defend nelson return to the states and people can have a more moderate viewpoint. >> won the present talk about change in the filibuster but does not appear to have the votes pretty c2 reacted to the most progressive voices the democratic party? >> no i think it's reactive you want to talk politics and not morals. i think more than 60% of the american people think roe should
11:46 pm
be left in place it was in place under various on the court promised 50 years. now it's a question of wait a second, how do we reestablish what was a norm for the american people and for american women to their daughters don't have less rights than their mothers in the grandmothers. with regard to the senate trying to get a waiver in terms of the filibuster sinema and manchin boast if we do that with republicans gain the majority than they could in fact put in place a total ban on abortion. i think they are miscalculating i think mitch mcconnell will do that anyway. another dynamic has shifted in terms of what mollie was just talking about. the energy was on the people who were opposed to abortion. working against abortion rights for more than 50 years. now the energy is taking democrats and suburban women on abortion rights to the polls

come november. >> mcconnell didn't do a was president. he didn't do it. donald trump asked them to get rid of filibuster, mcconnell deduced that we might be in the minority one day. this is the problem for the democrats are going to lose one house of congress were going talk about midterms in a minute read 2024 they are defending five times as many seats as republicans are for it even if we don't take back the senate republicans don't typically set the public went to >> in 2024. you could have a president republican senate you do known filibuster. [laughter] >> these guys are getting into it pretty well thanks panel. we'll take a break here. cap next reaction to the supreme court the president's poll numbers and democrat enthusiasm are shaping critical midterm races.

did you talk to doesn't biden about reelection? >> joe biden is running for election of his ticket mate. eric parks vice president kamala harris again intends to join a present bite on the 2024 ticket we are back now with the panel. how it is a pretty lengthy "new york times" piece this week about will he or won't he run? seems to frustrate strep president biden a great deal. during think you can do to tamp down these stories? >> probably not. the private doubts would not acknowledge that because then you become a lame-duck. it's not the opposition party saying we shouldn't run. by the left wing of the party not just on abortion rights catch up whether it's baby formula or at the border.

all of these issues. the support of his own party for the show the soundbite for the vice president have a statement clarifying is that for campaign-finance reasons? or is that to give the president a little wiggle room for it how do you see it? >> generally release to point out questioning that what is they expect? he is the least popular president in the history of presidential polling. going back to harry truman. no presence in this unpopular 500 days in the president from truman to trump until hundred 17% of americans are the better off now than there were four years ago. 64% of americans that they do not want him to run for reelection. he is the worst inflation 40

working-class americans thanks to covid relief programs. secondly, we are stopping russia from running over ukraine which is a clear signal to the chinese who are our enemies. again it is important. we just heard earlier this is a long-term effort is not something you could quit on. don't forget when you have an extreme supreme court, when you have these things going on the american people are discontent they say the country is going in the wrong direction. but people understand that biden is working at it pretty may not have success. how he said a lot of people the democratic side or frustrate is not more aggressive. this is not just a referendum about him. it's a referendum about a president who is trying to overthrow the u.s. government. [inaudible] >> about a midterm question for mollie. abaco's bamberger from virginia has said may be time for new leadership in the democratic party but she said present biden will not be campaigning with her this fall.

do you expect other democrats in tough races to follow suit? >> with how toxic joe biden is that will be unsurprising to see a lot of people hoping he does not help with their campaign. i think the democrats and after the entire political establishment are misdiagnosing the level of problems here. it is true biden is unpopular but what's more true is the entire democratic policy agenda is unpopular per this is something ideas he has are not contested in the house or the senate pretty almost has nobody disagreeing with him. the energy policy is put forth his foreign part policy he put these are things the entire democratic party has supported. they are very unpopular. people do when they voted for biden last time there were rumors of his cognitive decline at that point with the fact is doing poorly now is not that surprising. but of people who were running things were actually more competent and more moderate you would not be seeing this chatter. mike: how are both sides from the stakes for the midterms right now? >> present biden strongest issue i think it's his leadership of

the western alliance on ukraine. importantly for him that is not a big boating issue. for policy was at 1% in the recent box poll. inflation people really do care about we've gone through several iterations of its transitory, are we heading for recession? the democratic president is trying to say times are tough. part of it is the war. the republicans we heard some of this from mark are saying all of these problems people think the country is heading in the wrong direction. it sets things are out of control that hurts income. mike: of what people say democrats, independents and republicans are heading in the wrong direction for the has to be alarming out for the white house with democratic campaign committees. current status before we've even gotten economic date at which the atlanta fed just said they're predicting the second quarterly 2.1% decrease in gdp. two quarters of negative growth of multiple define a recession as. so having a recession will have it in midterms is and be very
