tv The Ingraham Angle FOX News July 7, 2022 12:00am-1:00am PDT
12:00 am
my podcast. just type in jason p in theodcat house, jason and out this week i interviewed pete hegseth and i hope you enjoy it. have a great, wonderful holiday. , hand great night. you want to stick stick with us because laura ingraham, she takes it from here on the ingraham angle. >> laura , thanks. jason , great to see you as always. >> a fantastic show. and we'll pick it up where youef left off my friend. >> all right. i'm laura ingraham.m. this is the ingram angle from wyoming tonight. >> we have a lot to get to, so we're going to dove right in all about loose. >> that's the focus of tonight's angle now all high and mighty. liz cheney has spent basically the last year claiming too be the supreme defender ofme the constitution. i will never put party above my duty to the constitution. i swore an under god and i will abide by that oath. i'm a conservative republican and i believe deeply in the policies off limited
12:01 am
government. those of us who believe in republican principles, ideals have a responsibility to try to lead the party back to what it can. our nation is preserved by those who abide by their oath to our constitution. >> but in reality right now liz cheney is leading an attack p on the presidency itself. so how one white house counsel pat cipollone and for questioning via subpoenaunse afr he had already talked to the committee voluntarily. by the way, it's justad a sign f growing desperation by a woman who understands that her political career is essentially over . >> she's trying to stretch her 1515 minutes of fame regardless of how much damage she does to the white house. toto the principle of separatin of powers and of course, to the constitution. a now, think about it this way. w how on earth is any president supposed to have candid conversations with his white house counsel, frankly, about anything if he believes that
12:02 am
white house counsel can be dragged before a partisanss congressional committee that is bent on doing whatever it can to keep its base happy and torture, the president. and by the way, liz cheney isn't just a wrecking ball to the constitution. she's an unrepentant liar. she just smearing trump , by the way. she's smearing the entire countrysh that voted for trump and she repeatedly lies about t what the america first movement is all about, reality that we face todaysp as republicans, as we thinkea about the choice in front of us , we have to choose because republicans cannot both be loyal to donald trump and the constitution. >> oh, really? who gave you the you know, the authority to say that ? seventy two million seventy four million americans voted for trump and none of themed f o count. in fact, we are the ones tryings to save the constitution. liz, from you and your new pals who want to abolish i don't
12:03 am
know, just the senate eliminated the electoral college, destroy the supreme court, forced americans toal submit to global rules made by international bureaucrats just that repeatedly and consistently. >> consistently cheney has taken the side of pelosi and the hard left against the constitution. she's also repeatedly lied about the events of january six . >> he summoned the mobbo to washington. he he knew they were armed on january six , he knew they were angry and he directed the violent mob to march on the capitol. >> i mean, the notionot that hundreds of people wandering through the capitol represented an attempt tore subvert the u.s. government and that was the plan. >> all is just ludicrous. we know that virtually everyone in the american populace movementno oppose the events of january six . they announce their opposition at the time and they've repeatedly stated that any lawaw breakers from that day should be punished. but as for president trump , he's really never indicated
12:04 am
that he intended to overthroww the constitution instead, he did dispute the vote count just as democrats did and 2000, 2004 and 2016 objection is in writing signed by no members off the house of representatives. the objection today is raised because there are irregularities acrossis this country with regard to voting. >> i have an objection because 10 of the 29 electoral votes cast by florida were castly by electors not lawfully certified like k-tel greatest hits there. well, also, let's not forget that cheney's lies hurt america here in the united states. most americans and certainly the great majority ofof republicans know that she's just trying to get revenge for her loss of influence inside the gop. >> the gop has moved on from liz cheney, but in the rest of the world, her smears and her lies will be used by our
12:05 am
nation's enemies as anti-american propaganda to discourage n their people from working with us . and let's not forget that cheney is allied with the radical anti americans on the left right now. >> she wants nancy pelosi to n remainan as speaker of the hous. so by supporting pelosi and the democrat, cheney encourages the radical anti americanism that pares down our statues, hurts our standard of living, undermines our military, trashes our culture generally, tells the rest of the world that america is and always has been evil. so at this point, you might wonder why has cheney turned against america while claiming she's a supreme defender of the constitution, why she's i her last few months of her career in congress to pursue vengeancehe and spread lies? well, i don't know. i think the answer is obvious. >> she belonged to a political movement, the bush cheney movement that was committed to open borders, endless wars, shipping jobs to china, making sure that roe versus wade would never, ever be overturned.
12:06 am
>> just use that for to get elected. so in 2015 toed 2016, the republican base effectivelyh ended the bush-cheney movement, choosing new leadership that would actually try try to help americans instead of hurting. but democrats and wannabe democrats like liz cheney and adam kinzinger. they only care about holding on to that last shred of power and the old glory days. but that power slipping away from them. >> bob corker, jeff flake, they already left the senate. jy already left the senate. pat toomey, he's going togo be gone at the end of the year. george p. bush is a nice guy, but he was annihilated in his primary. >> and cheney,y,en she's next.ss >> of course, she's not going to go quietly. do youoiui see yourself runningr president as a way to prevent what you say would wha the destruction of the party by damaging our country? i haven't made a decision about that yet. and i'm obviously very focused on my reelection. i'm very focused on the january ethics committee.
12:07 am
i'm very focused on my obligation to do the job that i have now and i'll make a decision about twenty four down the road t. >> all right. this is why people think washington is completely delusionalhi, totally separatede from the way real people live their lives that so whatever she decides, she canhe count on unlimited support froma the regime media that longs for the day when republicans like liz cheney merely pretended to disagree with the clintons while essentially implementing virtually the same policies as the democratss tends to be republicans of courage. liz cheneyy is one of those republicans. >> liz cheney c in particular is showing us that courage i is contagious. congresswoman liz cheneys. offering some much needed truth during a time of so many dangerous lives. >> liberals have never 10% love ,but they're not the voters here in wyoming who seems to meo are tired of her tedious games
12:08 am
. >> b this is a great and beautiful state and the people of this state deserve a representative who is more interested in advancing wyoming mor interests than liz cheney's own rabid crusade against the old gop..p >> so forget trump for a minute .. >> do you think liz cheney is going to be supporting or campaigning for someone like rhonda santurce or mike pompeo if they run for president and let's say she doesn't run? of course she won't remember. her litmus test is if you do not denounce trump , you areno a danger to americane and frankly, you need to be canceled. >> liz cheney is where shee is because she has a famousha father that is literally the only reason she won her house seat here in wyoming in the first place. the >> but america is a representative democracy. it is notcy an, i aristocracy and next month, liz cheney is going to see c and feel democracy in action. . that's the anglele.
12:09 am
all right. joining me now is harriet hakman, the wyoming congressional candidatein challenging liz cheney. t harriet, it'so great to see you tonight. now it seems like liz cheney is engaged in this constant betrayal of the people off wyoming who are worried about fuel prices, the cost of living ,and yet see her on this quixotic crusade against donald trump and the populist conservative movementrv. s are you seeing similar sentiment on the ground here in wyoming? so, laura , everything you said tonight, you hit the nail absolutely on the head.ad it was really enjoyable to listen to you. the folks of wyoming, our are saying or echoing exactly what you were talking about. what you're talking about is that there is a unified party in washington, d.c. made up of elitear democratsty and republicans and they don't necessarily care who's in powern just as long as they are. when donald trump came in , he
12:10 am
turned out he turned over theov tables in the temple, i think you'd say. and started exposing these people for what they were. i often say that he kicked overs rocks and a lot of really ugly, slimy things scurried out from under those rocks. and that's what we're seeing is thatt there is a group of w people who do not want us toho or perhaps a say in our government and we have a right to have a out say in our government. and when i listen to liz cheney talk, it just it just really drives myself as well as so many people crazyzy s. now that former alabama and i underline former harriotte democrat senator doug jones. well,-- he has a different take on liz. >> she would not go out as a loser. donald trump is a loser. she could parlay that . i think i agree. think i think she's got a future. i'm just not so sure that it's in twenty twenty two or 2020 four. >> harriet open borders
12:11 am
pro-china trade, not concerned about energy prices and spending all of your time attacking the tens of millions of people m who voted for donald trump . that's the future of the republican party, apparently, according to the democratsar in according to liz cheney, she's a globalist. that's what he's saying is she's a globalist. and the only reason democrats like her is because she's attacking republicans. you havehe to know that you're on the wrong track in terms of our platform, our philosophy, our values. when you're being praised by democrats because democrats do not align with us , especially right now on pretty much anything relatedrett to this country. we've got the most progressive and radical democrat party in the history of the united states. it's been infiltrated by socialists , the very top of the heap, if you will . and anyone who was praising, as cheney is telling you, the signal is very stronghe that liz cheney is useful right now. but the only reason is becausere sheas talks to republicans. it has nothing to do with policy necessarily other than the fact that she will further
12:12 am
a globalist agenda. >> f i should remind everyone watching tonight, we're obviously a lot of viewers in wyoming, but take it away from the old nostalgia about d dick cheney, who i like. dick cheney is a wonderful man. i like i like his nice people. >> but this is not about old gop nostalgia. is it not the case, harriet, that a vote for liz cheney is a vote to keep nancy pelosi as speaker of the house and to continue to advance this agenda of high energynd prices for the people of this state who desperately need relief from us ? >> absolutely. and it is a continued attack on most important industries that we have our oil mp and gas industry, our coal industry, what this administration has donedu with nancy pelosi is is incredibly destructive to the state of wyoming. so it's not just keeping her in power. it's also keeping in power or furthering the agenda that is so destructive to the state of
12:13 am
wyoming. you know, when you talkk aboutne liz cheney that really the only claim to fame that she has is being cheney's daughter. i think that's a valid assessment of where she is and what she's done and the realitye is i'm running because i have a future in the state.at my husband is here, my my brothers and sisters, my nieces and nephews, my great nieces, nephews. we've got forty people of my immediate family here in wyomingy. >> liz cheney, her family neverf has to step footoo in wyoming to get she's real. >> harriet, i'm also going to say, harriet, i'm also going to say you made it like on your garratt, the american success story, okay? you didn't have to hopscotchsc on the fame of other people to get where you are now and everyone watching this . we really appreciate her joining us tonight. >>r and for your perspective, we'll be watching this very closely. the next two weeks. mentioned i >> as mentioned in the angle,n the january ethics committee to petty to this whole new heights by hauling in former white house counsel pat cipollone ford closed door testimony. and if you think that you know
12:14 am
,because it's behind closed doors, it's some kind of like, oh, it's nice that they're doing it behind closed doors. listen tohe the excitement from the media about this today. >> pat cipollone s.a.m. over and over again during cassity. hutchinson's bombshell testimony. there's no doubt that what he g has to say is going to be an important part of this investigation. f thit doesn't actually matter. >> pat cipollone is testifying behind closed doors on videotape and having it transcribed because this committee has found a way to use that kind of testimony quite effectively. >> they almost don't need itt publicly. so this is a bigig get for the committee with his vast legal experience. that isadmission in the media. they know that the testimony behind closed doors, what they do is they slice and dice it to aid in their narrative their storytelling when the committee actually puts on their showct as they do. joining me now is jonathanjo turley, george washington university law professor, fox news contributor. professor, i think to future
12:15 am
administrations i'm trying to take this beyond donaldd trump and even pat cipollone to what's happening in the future to this idea of a candid back and forth between b a president and his white houset counsel. how damaging a could this be? well, this is the very core of executive privilege. you just cannot get more concentrated privilege arguments than the white house counsel himself. it is absolutely essential for the president to be able to turn to an attorney in the white house and ask for his frank advice. that conversation is going to be somewhat chilled, obviously,c if the president believes that some questions or commentsu that he may have could end up being replayed. and this is already sort of part of a growing trend.nd you. know, now presidents have to deal with tell all books and all of these leaks and here
12:16 am
you have the white house counsel who's going to be speaking to congressunun now i would feel better about this . i mean, the fact is i likeou the transparency that we have around january six . i think we need to know what happened. i would feel better about this if the committee was making any effort to be bipartisan, to be balanced. it's actually to look at alternative explanations for some of these facts. but instead and you sort of alluded to this , they've beenhi choreographing this to a point that reallys sort of fuels these arguments of a show trial because they they first hours and hours of deposition. then they they they splice out whatever they need. they play it to the witness and then they only ask the witness very specific questionser that don't allow the witness really to stray much. and it turns these witnesses to sort of props for a narrative. and i think that's really hurt
12:17 am
the process. i mean, i happen tocent be interested in what really did occur that some of the things that they have revealed are disturbing a, but it's occurring within this context that is so once it that it really destroys and some of the credibility of what you're seeing. >> and jonathan, i've said this many times that obviouslyeo people know that pat cipollone is a very close friend of mine.n so i want to put that out there again. >> but a question about this closed door testimony. it could be i don't know, could he have said no, i'll do it, but i got to i want to do it live primetime any time. >> but wouldn't that have been better to or does it not matter at this point? >> well well, frankly, any live examination would be better than what we've seen. i mean, this is bringing kabuki to a whole new level. i mean, iti you know, you're only seeing the portions that they want to to isolate. b and theyee also have been editig out material that we know exists. i mean, for example, they repeatedly show presidentes
12:18 am
trump saying march to congress and they consist only then delete the following statement that says do so peacefully. now, that doesn't exonerate the president for what he did or did not do. but but editing out that statement really does show that this is more of a production. it's more about persuasion. it's more of a persuasive process and an investigative process. >> jonathan, before we let you go , very quickly, are you surprised that president trump didn't decide to go to federal court to make anxe official executive privilege claim in federal court?m he hasn't done i think he has. and i think it would have been a tough case for a lot ofs unknowns here . the courts have been grappling with it. to what extent a former president make these arguments, but also we already know a lotea of what happened with this witness. >> it raises the question ofst
12:19 am
why they feel the necessity to do this because we've had all of these consistent accounts of what he didof and many of the things he did was quite really were quite commendable. but i think that a court would have would have viewed that existing record as undermining privilege arguments as well as the fact that they're investigating a very important date. jonathan, great to see. thankk you for that analysis. and up next, the new times doesn't like the hispanics. the fact that they're movingt right. so what do they do? they smeared brand new congresswoman maya flores. >> she's here next to respond. stay there. did you get the memo? we're still hunt for treasure back . obama is the expert inside the brain. jason chaffetz, family

12:25 am
what she calls the traditional values of her majority hispanic district in the border city of brownsville. >> of course, it's all sneering, right, because these people pretend to care so much about the advancement of minorities and business education and society politics. but unless minorities tow the far left democrat line, what's going to happen is they're going to be smeared just like my next guest here now to respond to the texas congresswoman, mayra flores. congressman, great to see you. tonight. >> i think you've officially arrived. welcome to the club. people have been smeared by the "new york times". got to give you a big hand . how doeses honestly, i honestly don't really care about the new york times. >> they know nothing about me or my culture. like i said, we're all about god , family and country. and that's who we are here in south texas. and that's what they call for. right. it is just insane.ane how they you know how they treat
12:26 am
immigrants. you know, i'm an immigrant and they claim to be very supportive of us . but yet when we decide to run for office and because oh, no, we are you know, excited and to promote our values, values that they're against. th right.ey they're against the valuesha that we stand for. god and family values. >> so they hate it. they hate it. so no, i'm you i honestly don't really care about the new york times. i'm focused on the district that i'm running. >> it's a total badge of honor . so i'm sure well, you're far too busy. you were too busy. but socialist alexander acostaex cortez was dubbed a political star of the future when she won kind of out of the blue. but you're apparently you're just a far right menis. what do you say to latina women across the united states u who are watching this tonight, wondering where they fit in politically and seeing things kind of turn so negatively in the economy and so forth today? >> what's your message to them?
12:27 am
look, all i can say is lc does not represent the hispanic community does definitely does not represent texas district 34 in who we are here . and we're not worried about the washington nonsense latin ex, you know, worried about the cost of living gas, food, health care. that's h what we're worried evey single day. we're waking up and thinking about what's happeningon in washington. >> they're just so disconnected . it's really it's really sad because they think that the world revolves around washington, d.c. and that's really not the reality.nd >> i want to move to somethingau obviously a lot more important to all of us , but especially to you in the rio grande valley ,texas, officials and lawmakers have made a new call in recent days. >> what to hear the term invasion. >> and that's exactly what this. is . that is an invasion
12:28 am
that is being pushed by the cartels into our country that it must come to a stop, recognize an invasion, an invasion of the state of texas that is undermining our security, risking a health and well-being of texans. >> congresswoman, do you agree with that terminology? is this an invasion givensi the sheer number of people crossing the border every week, every monthek? it really concerns me.rns but i put the blame on the current administration and the obama administration. they'ree the ones that are encouraging people to come here to the united statese knowing the dangers. they encourage people to go through this dangerous journey, knowing women will get ,knowing children will be put into child sex trafficking. they know that . but t yet they encourage people to come here . look, the blame is all on the bush administration and people like vicente gonzalez who continue to promote people who come here illegally knowing the dangers. look, i immigrants to congress
12:29 am
because it's not just it's not just it's not just, you know, m mothers and their three year old children crossing the rio grande. i mean, i've been there. i know part of it is the cartels are running that border. they're running the border. so i'm asking you verynn bluntlb ,is this an invasion that's being run in part by the cartels into the united states for influence, money and drugs? yes,te or no? >> yeah, there's definitely millions of people coming into this country. i do agree with you on that. i and yes, the cartel has taken over the cartel. you cannot cross illegally unless you pay thousands and thousands of dollars. and yes, there's children and women coming into our country. but yet but also a lot of horrible people and terrorists also coming into our country, putting the american people in danger. so i agree with you. wee do have a serious problem, but i do put the blame on the biden administration. they're l letting that happen. and congressman, again, welcome to the club. you h you've been officially anointedd
12:30 am
and baptized into the into the club of the new york times hated. great to see you tonight. thanks so much. and weeks ago we warned you the left is so panicked about hispanics fleeing their party t that george soros is bankrolling the purchase of 18 spanish language radio stations across the country. so the latino media network is going to be run by two former obama staffers. so it shouldn't come as any surprise that workers are completely heading for the exits, withxi some even leaving in protest, including my next guest, lourdes obeida said she turned downde a significant amount of money, which included signing a nondisclosure agreement to remain at radio mambi.no she joins me now. lourdes, why is it easy? why was it easy for you to make this decision to leave? well, it wasn't easy.y. thank you for the invitation. it wasn't easy because this even be like the heart of our community is the heart ofof the cuban exile of t the victims
12:31 am
of communism and socialism here in florida. so it wasn't an easy exit.ou well,th of it was of course it was an agreement. >> i couldn't accept. >> but what do americans need to understand about how important it is for there to be alterna voices to cuban americans, hispanic americans of all backgrounds when they usually just get a few perspectives leaning to the right sort of saw that smartly. what happened? what is happening here is that they are trying to silence the conservative voices. we are very fewen actually very few hosts, conservative hosts in a spanish and they believe that they can win the hispanic vote by taking over these eighteen radio stations through the united states. hispanics are not voting because someone is telling them
12:32 am
in the latest in a radio station. what they have to do is we are voting because off inflation, because of quality of life, because of that the the the things that we have to face daily to raise our kids, to race, to build our families. il so what i would say about this is that it's a shame that the democrats used their power with the backing of someone like george soros to use and try to misuse, you know, the goal that means having a radio station. >> well, from my just say, of there areot a lot of wealthy republicans out there who write checks to think tanks that frankly dotl very little except have dinnerse every yeare buying radio stations. the next rush limbaugh, who's hispanic or rush limbaugh coulde change the whole face of a debate in the united states and they should put their money where their mouth is .. you're very principled for doing what you did and we really appreciate it. we're going to be following you very closely.
