some are disgruntled in the workplace, them bullied at one time or another in their lives. they live in isolation without a lot of friends. many have mental illness. but now you have people emerging from lockdowns during the pandemic. they are heavily influenced by dark social media themes and they are young, ted. they are in their late teens or early 20s. what do you make of this new profile? >> well, anita i can tell you these shooters have what i define as an internal rage that they can either control at certain times and at other times they are not able to control. the average mass shooter in america, especially those when you look at buffalo, new york or a shooter goes in, hates black people and shoots up a market and kills at least ten people. you look at uvalde texas you had

19 babies in a classroom that were shot and killed along with their two teachers. and then you go to highland park where you had seven killed. you had scores of wounded. there is a common thread among those three killers. first of all, most of them are white. they are between the ages of 18 -- 21. they are loners. they do not get along with individuals. they play violent video games. they have access to semi automatic weapons. there is a continued urge in these individuals to kill. we look at primo who was in highland park in illinois. he went over too madison, wisconsin and thought about continuing to kill there. there is an internal rage that is going on with these

individuals that causes them to act out as they have and to kill as many people unfortunately as they have also. >> it did seemed like unfortunate we are seeing more of these mass shooting tragedy spread less takes a look at some numbers from usa today before the year 2000 there were an average of three mass shootings a year for the first six months of this year there have been 240 plus probably many more so far. what factors do you think are attributed to this increase? quickly because i would ask him a question for quick sure. the access to automatic weapons. these weapons i have defined are only used for killing part you cannot take or these automatic weapons and go and hunt a deer and then eat that deer. so that is one of the things that's causing a lot of the problems in this country. anita: speaker that we know the

president just signed bipartisan gun legislation that expands background checks for those under 21 giving authorities more time to examine their mental health records, more leeway to carry out red flag laws are people who are found by a judge to be too dangerous to have a gun. will any of these things help in your opinion? >> i think they are a start. but there really like putting a band-aid on a wound that is gaping open. i think at some stage or another we are going to have to put more responsibility on gun owners sort of like this guy primo. primo could not get a gun at the age of 19. his father had to sponsor him. his father did in fact sponsor him so he bought five different guns. the guy in buffalo, new york who shot up the supermarket he had access to guns after he turned 18 years of age.
