he likes the jobs numbers that came in on friday. unemployment numbers at 3.6%. he should. when it comes to inflation, we are about to get some new numbers they are not evidently good. current rate not good. almost the highest in the western world. but i was so stunned to see the president continuing to point fingers. no longer the putin price hike but then he points fingers at another party. believe it or not, not his. >> steve: it's never his fault, brian. i don't know why you would be stunned. he has blamed everybody. >> brian: he promised not to. >> steve: he blamed trump, he blamed -- everybody, meat packers. you name it last night he branched out and he just, you know, made it nakedly political and started blaming republicans. he said this in a tweet last night. republicans are doing nothing but obstructing our efforts to crack down on gas price gouging, lower food prices, lower healthcare costs and hopefully

soon lower your prescription drug cost. this is not right. that's why this election is going to be so darn important. and every time we have heard from joe biden over the last couple of weeks, he is looking at these -- his poll numbers and right now he is under water at the latest poll, he is at 30% approval. and so he is making everything about the election. >> ainsley: yeah. >> steve: vote, vote, vote. >> ainsley: thank you, flo rida. >> steve: low, low, low. >> ainsley: blaming republicans for everything. our last president was a republican. we didn't have inflation. gas prices were half the price that they are now. our border was not completely open. and we were energy independent. and that's why our gas prices are going up now because now he is going to saudi arabia. he is begging opec. is he possibly going to beg venezuela. and we are not energy independent now. does it really matter when you are talking about the environment who is producing this oil? would we rather make other countries witch or our own country irish? >> he is begin curtail he does

not have one new offshore oil rig. >> ainsley: i know. gina ramon da commerce secretary she is doing all the talking. she said we shouldn't be talking ourselves into a recession. listen. >> steve: too late. >> i do think at some point, you know, we will see less rapid growth in the economy. but i don't see any reason to think that we will have a serious recession, inflation is our problem. and it is our top priority. and so i think, perhaps the transition to a more traditional growth level but i don't think we should be talking ourselves into a recession. >> brian: i agree, you shouldn't. no one should be cheering for it i don't care how voted for. it hurts too many people too much. the s&p is down 18% since the beginning of this year. although gas prices are down 3 cents 0 cents, there is still all-time high just around $5

arranged the country. if you think about what we are about to get hit with the inflation and supply chain problems continue to linger there are things that we can do and pick that up in a second. there are things that we can do right now in terms of stopping the supply chain issues that not many people thought we would skill have an issue with, on top of that, we can't get cars. if you own a dealership, if you are trying to buy a car, you cannot get used cars above stickers. new cars is unbelievable wait. they are building the cars without the chips. and leaving them in parking lots of stadiums because they want to keep the auto workers in the manufacturing basis in order to keep them employed but they don't have enough chips. what are we doing to solve the chip problem? what are we doing to solve the supply chain issues? we have a secretary of transportation focusing on making sure people, families get to stay together on planes. that is not your focus. we need planes to leave on time.

once we release our seat belts we will visit our families. >> steve: the problem with the chips is the chips are still made in china. some of our stuff is still made in china. even though we have gone through the pandemic and where were all the n-95 masks? it was in china. everything is in china. it has not gotten better. the president this week is going to be traveling to saudi arabia. and it's controversial. he put out an op-ed on saturday in the "the washington post." on the op-ed page clean-up is interesting because that is the same page that jamal khashoggi, who was murdered apparently by the crowned prince at his direction of saudi arabia. he explained, look, i know this decision is controversial, but i have got to go. and the hidden message is because we need the gas. the president wrote in the "the washington post," from the start, my aim was to reorient not rupture relations with the country that's been a strategic partner for 80 years. that's right. so why did he call him a pariah?

listen, iran is a problem. how far do we isolate iran while making sure israel's security is taken care of. what they did is found a compliant partner in saudi arabia and israel. realized they were no threat to each other. began to launch the abraham accords and country by country they began to recognize israel. abraham accords allowed. saudi has not officially recognized israel. but what they have is no longer an enemy of israel. no longer see a problem with the palestinian leadership. no longer dug in with that respect. what they are asking for from the u.s. they say they want acknowledgment of social and economic reforms. they want the administration to no longer bring up khashoggi. and they don't want that the focus of this summit at all. they said that they will not do anything to diminish their oil relationship with russia. they are setting the parameters with president biden who called them a pariah prior to his

taking office, and now -- i read the "new york times" story. the "new york times" story talks about a new middle east that joe biden is going into without even acknowledging that donald trump reoriented the middle east to make it more western friendly without even mentioning the term abraham accord. >> steve: here's the thing. saudi arabia, it's complicated. we have needed their gas for a long time. we don't need their gas. we need it because of joe biden. and so he's going to suck it up and go over even though he knows that the crowned prince was behind the murder of "the washington post" op-ed guy because we need the oil because the democrats are going to get hammered and will get hammered in the midterms so we need to get bailed out. last night on "60 minutes" they had a former saudi intel official who said mbs, the crowned prince, not a good guy. watch. >> i am here to sound the alarm

times. good times, that we went through, with this free money, has made people weak, steve. the only thing that will get the american public out of this is the truth. for whatever reason politicians are not willing to tell the american public the truth about the recession, the fed seems to want to literally choke out the ability to buy a home in this country. house payments have gone up by 800 to $1,000 just in the last 8 to 12 weeks. >> steve: sure. if you are one of the able-bodied people who wants a job, this is a great time to get one because all sorts of employers not only are paying much more than the minimum wage or more than 15 or 20 bucks an hour, but they are giving them signing bonuses. people who are line cooks are getting signing bonuses to work in a kitchen. we did a story about how united airlines is giving in some cases $10,000 bonuses, signing bonuses if you will come and be one of the ramp guys. >> and just because you get a

and you know, we are seeing a lot of chatter on social media, which is not necessarily where you go for intelligent talk. but you can get the pulse of how people are feeling. you know, they are afraid. and actually some of the younger ones have never experienced a downturn in the market. they are predicting that this housing market is going to crash like it did in 2008. and the data says otherwise. plus, my 40 years of hanging around these real estate markets says otherwise. because you have got some perspective on how these things work. we have just got a tremendous shortage of housing still versus the number of buyers, and that's going to hold prices firm. >> george, two dave's point. shortage of houses. this is the same reason to believe gas is expensive. and the groceries are so expensive. it's supply and demand. the supply is short of the demand. >> that's right. i want people to focus on facts over fear. and it's really as simple as that when there is huge demand. not enough supply, we see prices shoot up.

that's what happens in the last two years. when there is not a ton of supply and a lot of demand, that's what we are seeing right now. so i want people to realize that there is 5 million more buyers this year than there was in 2007. inventory of is half of what it was in 2007. that's what beneed to see supply catch up. >> george, why are there so many more buyers now? >> well, you are seeing millennials like me start to get into the market going i really want a house. a lot more eligible buyers and not enough houses to gordon a. we can't build fast enough people are freaking out over the market and what's happening. i want you to realize that fear is a terrible financial adviser. >> if you look back to 2008, 2007, the gen xer's were mid 30's. 5 million more millennials in their mid 30's than they were gen xerens in 2007. mid 30's is prime house buying time. i know it's scary. some people have been priced out of their dream home that doesn't mean demand has completely

evaporated. >> steve: sure. george, why don't you live in dave's garage? >> you know, if he would have me, i would absolutely do it, steve. it's beautiful. >> he is a little cheap like you, he probably would. >> i will take a free slurpee too if you have one. >> today is the day. you also say stay the course, dave, what does that mean? >> well, if you are a seller right now, the market has slowed down. it does appear we are going into at least a light recession. and that means the market is going to slow down. interest rates are almost double of what they were a few months ago 6% for a house now. so if you are a seller, you are going to concerns a more normal market. 90 days or 120 days for house to sell instead of three minutes and you are probably not going to get 85 offers in the first 48 minutes on the market. probably get somewhere close-to-a appraisal instead of appraisal plus what someone is paying because they are panicking on getting to purchase a home. it's going to be more of a normalized market. it's been wicked hot for a while. >> steve: no kidding. that's why you are having a free

looks like down there because we are not seeing that from the other networks or even from this creation. what is it like? tell us the children's situation. because as a mom, you are a mom. i can't imagine sending my child with strangers to walk across the border. how does this happen? why does it happen? >> well, it is unfathomable, ainsley, when you see the amount of children. it's hard for people to understand unless you are there. when you are standing at the border and you watch hundreds of children just pour across the border unaccompanied, exposed to adults who aren't even their guardians there are many times when i ran into young girls who i know who have been accosted physically or sexually, i talk to them, i speak spanish fluently. i go up to the border patrol, i inform them, you know, there is a possibility that this young lady or this young boy has been physically abused. you might want to take them to a doctor. this is a policy. the biden administration's policy of allowing this open border chaos has basically given

realized that wasn't going to work. lights realized the car wants electronic system was failing and no way to open the doors or use any of the mechanisms inside the car. so i went back to the car for the tool and was quickly backed up for by my partners here. >> brian: do you want to take it from there, guys? >> yeah. i was second on scene. did i grab a fire extinguisher. still didn't hold up. the fire was very hot. we did try to extricate him out of the driver's side window but unsuccessful at that time. the patrolman then. >> like i said we had tried taking him out of the driver's sight. weren't able to. the flames were entering the cabin of the car. we went around to the passenger side. window we broke. reached in there and grabbed both of his hands got a yank. grabbed most of his upper torso. at that time i was assisted by the officers and able to successfully get him out of the car as the inflammation were entering the cabin only had a

few seconds to spare. >> were you thinking this thing could explode not only that too hot to get him out. had to break the window. and plus the seat belt at this point doesn't work for on your behalf. a lot of times these guys are strapped in. were you thinking at any moment this could blow? >> yeah. it formally his seat belt was off already when we arrived on scene that did help us out. as the flames were getting bigger and bigger. car fires you hear a lot of pops, the rubber, tires pop when it gets hot. we were feeling the heat for sure. all our focus on was on him getting him out. we didn't care about our own safety at that point. we wanted to get him out of the car. >> brian: the guy only had minor injuries. anthony, right now, when you see the videoed, what are your thoughts and what was it like when you got home? >> i still get goose bumps to this day just hearing it you get goose bumps, luckily we were okay. he was okay. and, you know, we successfully got him out of the vehicle at that time. >> guys, congratulations. that's just what you guys do.

in the mix is a very diverse mix. we have people like a current chancellor of about a week. he is an iraqi refugee with his family. you have a health secretary that resigned before boris johnson went who is the son of a pakistani immigrant bus driver. there are aspiring stories amongst the candidates. but if you want me to put my betting hat on, i would say that by next wednesday is when parliament goes into summer recess, i would think they will be down to two candidates. i suspect one will be richie because recently with boris johnson's -- in my estimation the smartest person out there as the candidate race at the moment. and it is interesting i think scenario developing here. richie sumac who has been the chancellor through the pandemic and the massive economic damage caused, he is saying don't believe all those, all the other

canada debts bar none,/taxes but in fact, someone came to his defense today and said, rishi sunak might be right about this, a guy like his father nigel under margaret thatcher and what they did was initially they put up taxes when economic straits and brought them crashing down. and the only one crashing down is when they thought parliament would understand it. it sounds good as a people pleaser for the candidates of the electorate and the membership but if you do it in surging inflation of over 2%, live a present right now it could be utterly disastrous. and you can look no further than sri lanka who/taxes back in 2019 and the pandemic and ukraine having the rage up to 50%, a complete disaster. you have to be prudent in these times. and i think rishi sunak will be up against one of the candidates
