tv   The Ingraham Angle  FOX News  July 23, 2022 12:00am-1:00am PDT

12:00 am
thank you for making this show. possible. please set your dvr so you never miss an episode. and in the meantime, this m friday night, let not your heart be troubled. stay tuned, laura . laura ingraham angle is next. have a great weekend. see my i'm laura ingraham. this f is anger angle from tamp, florida tonight. in moments, governor ronda santurce will join me for an extended interview. but first, voting with their feet. that's the focus of tonight's angle. now, judging by the latest census data, maybe you've seen people want to get the out of a california, illinois and new york. those three states all registered the sharpest overallo population losses last year.
12:01 am
so what the heck is everyone moving? well, one of the most popular places to relocate fromce high tax blue states is without florida, whichn saw its population increase by two hundred and eleven thousand between july1, 20 and july 2020 one . . and by the way, it's not just people moving of the five point eight million new businesses and the applications up between january 21 and january 2020 two, a stunning 12% were right here in florida. now with these numbers, it's non wonder that florida governor rhonda stantis is way up in the polls in his and reelection race. and nationwide, he's building a profile and an impressive fundraising operation with all the above all those things we just talk about liberal governors with ambitions for national office, have the knives out for him, including that walking pile of hair gel. gavin newsom. ff although he easily defeated a recall effort, his statete is reeling from high crime underperforming schools, a glut
12:02 am
of illegal aliens, a water shortage and high taxes. >> and instead of addressing that reality, newsom slashes out all of you living in florida to join the fight or join in california. but we still believe inee freedom, freedom of speech, freedomdodo to choose, freedom hate and the freedom to love. don'tt let them take your freedoms yet. >> what l is freedom look like n california? well, it certainly doesn't include being free of destructive be covid policy because right now 42% ofd the country is classified by the cdc as having high community spread . yet l.a. county is amonges the few in the united states threatening to resume an indoor mascot mandate. no, people are sort of saying, you know, putting masks on is really asking a lot of folks we asked a lot more of everybodyon for a much longer time for much of the past two years. ofof course, the connected
12:03 am
and wealthy in california never have to suffer under the samey rules as everyone else. and by the way, that monster, barbara furrer, who's not even a medical doctor but the public health director , was seen at major league baseball's all star game. marquis s. now newsom can crow about freedom all he wants, but it sure doesn't mean freedom from the skyrocketing crime. 65% of californians view violence and street crime in their local community as a problem. 34% sayay it's a big problem. and it certainly isn't freedom to flourish because the newsha cnbc article reports that san francisco businesses strugglet to hang on to tech workers. and last year that resulted in a whopping four hundred million dollar hit to tax revenue for newsom's concept of freedom. californiansns are increasingly feeling trapped and as a result, we've seen h an exodus of one million residents just over the past two years. wow. and over half of them tell t researchers they've considered
12:04 am
moving out of the state. but n gavin newsom isn't botherd by any of that. he's more concerned with the man in florida's governor mansion nearly, what, 3000 miles away. h >> now he doesn't use his name,e but we know the census is the target. >> i do believe education is under assault in ways that i've never experienced in my lifetime. banning books, suppressing speech, the othering of our students going after the , going after people other than other people across the spectrum, going after vulnerable minorities. i can't take it. stop being a bully. stop belittling people that look differently, act differently, love differently, who the hell are you? >> hey, something called success. that's the problem. now all the wannabe contenders are lining up to take their shots, including illinois governor pillsbury pritzker now because he's done such a bang up job in his state. yeah, sure. wnow, if so, why did illinois
12:05 am
lose one hundred and twenty two thousand residents? it's the largest decline in state history and financial giant citadel. it's moving its base from chicago to miami because of the rising crime rate and taxes in chicago is the primary reason behind the move.t' and that small company calledso boeing, you may have heard of it, is also ditching chicago headquarters for northern virginia. >> can you blame any of thesee companies? and just like newsome, instead of attacking the problems in his own state, pritzker lashes out at governors who are actually doing their job. he traveled to florida last weekend to say of the santurce . he's trying to pass off his covert racism, homophobia, tmisogyny as a more reasonable form of republicanism. so said never has such a largeh man leveled such a small mindedn smear. >> it would be remiss in our roundup of failed left governors if we didn't mention new york . kathy kathy hochul covid shutdowns and rules drove parents and businesses out of manhattan in droves.
12:06 am
what the new york times called the exodus a once a century shock writing it raises uncertainty about new york's competitiveness and economic ic stability. >> and because they refused to change their policies on crimeev and taxes, governor hochul and mayor adams revert to lameer stunts again focused on florida mayor adams recently spent taxpayer money to buy billboards in florida suggesting his city was more friendly. governor hochulndly piled on and went a step further in a tweet calling the santos cruel, despicable cheese marketing her status as an abortion h abortion destination. of course, the santurcee promotes growth c. >> she promotes death that says it all. >> joining us now and i'm delighted is with us governor rhonda santurce from the great state of florida. governor , why are these failedl left wing governors deciding to hit you all of a sudden? >> i mean, you're just the guy. you're the man of the moment.
12:07 am
well, i think if you look at what californiain never lost population from the founding of the state until this currents governor's been in office. now they're hemorrhaging people. illinois is hemorrhaging people . new york and their tax basesre are going getting narrower and people are bringing wealth to florida and opportunities to florida. so they see that and they understand. but here's the thing. it is a resultre of us having good policies but also them driving people away with their terrible policies. i mean, it's dangerous to be mec . cities likeagno los angeles and chicago now, they don't support a police. they have prosecutors that will not prosecute crimeseo that are funded by george soros. so the quality of life is really diminished. and the thing about florida, when people move from thoseha states is what they tell me.ud people are proud to be in florida. they're happyot to be in florida and recognize tampa. >> i haven't been here ina. probably 15 years. i literally do not recognize that it is one of the fastest growing cities, if not the fastest growing city inno the united states. >> now it's insane. and think aboutut what they did.
12:08 am
someone like the governor ofer california locking school kids out of school for over a year, forcing them to cover their faces, forcing them tod take a covid shot that they don't need or want. that's what they consider freedom to be in california and florida. we've lifted people like, well,w too dangerous because we'ree protecting people's jobs and businesses, making sure kids can be in i school. all of those left wing governors oppose me. when i had schools open in the state of florida. >> now what's happening? people are doing analysis, oh, my god, the learning loss places that lost the kids, that's well, of course that was going to happen. we knew that all of them were wrong on all of these issues. and here's the thing, laura . even our worst critics, pritzker himself, he sent his family to florida house. yes. he sent his family to florida during the lockdown's. so while the people of illinois are suffering under his petty tyranny, his family's downev living in freedom in the state o of florida. so our worst critics somehow always find a way to be in florida, whether that's aoc, te
12:09 am
whether that's these governors or mayors. and that tells you all you needl to know about what you've seen of the three that i mentioned. so pritzker and newseumd,, who has done more damage to their state, do you think? w >> oh, man. well, i'll tell you this. i think that illinois and york had problems for a long time. i think the problems ine california have accelerated at such a rapid direction since as governor has been in with the crime, with the education problems. obviously they're very tax happy state. they want to tax everybody so t. i think that they've had probably the quickest decline over the last few years. it's heart breaking now. this is a broad question, but of all the problems facing the country because you're a microcosm here, let's say the top three problems. what are they and how would you solve them? well, i think clearlyle in relation energy far and away are crippling americanut families. and if youn think about it, biden came into office. what did he do to declared war on american energy? so somehow it's fine to beg for
12:10 am
oil from venezuela or fist pump saudi arabia. but he doesn't want oil here. well, the result has been those energy costs have gone up and his people at the pump, but it permeates the entire economy .y and then they printed trillions of dollars and they were warned not just by people like me who they're not going to listen to that were liberal economistsi who work for bill clinton, who work for obama, said if you do this, you are going to spark an inflation. and so you look at like florida, you know, we have record budget surpluses, no income tax, great job growtheate labor force, alls that. so we're getting the state policies right. but you have the bite inflation that's really weighing people down. so i think that by far are the top issues, everything connected with that and the strategic petroleum reserve. biden once again crowed the other day, you guys thinkio i'm anti production. i'm not putting new oil inton. the system. i ilbut i'm releasing a million barrels a day. governor , isn't that so responsible? and it's not making a difference. and honestly, that's not what that's used for you kneecap your own energy producers and then run to the strategic petroleum reserve.
12:11 am
so we've got it totally backwards. and here's the thing. he ranhe for president saying hl was going to shut down oil and gas. i mean, he thinks that somehow you can run a modern economy on windmills. you can'toot do that.nd and so we have an opportunity to be energy independent in this country if we hadn the right policy. joe biden is not letting that happen. the american people are suffering this concern growing around the united states that china is buying up an enormous amount of land, both residential and farmland. and i know there are plenty of pieces written about the chinese purchases of residential real estate driving the prices up here in florida. >> do you have any concerns about that? well, i don't think they shoulds be able to do it. i thinkni the problem is , is these companies have ties to the ccp and it's not always apparent on the face of whatever company is doing. ue butnc i think it's a hugee problem, the influence that they have now. what wen have done in florida, i've signed legislation to crack down on undue influence from rogue states, including the ccp. so, for example, we banned confucius institutes in
12:12 am
the state of florida. they try to go in higher education and they try to spread the propaganda. so we've taken good steps. we're also probably going. to do legislation next legislative session about our pension investmentst with things that may be linked to the tpp. wean don't necessarily have a lt of it, but we want to make sure that we're cutting ties so that we're not funding our numberly one adversary. does that also apply to the chinese students here in the united states? mike pompeo has spoken extensively about the three hundred sixty thousand chinese students who are in our universities, both undergraduate and graduate. you have a problem with that? i think that there t are there is cause for concern.re what are they doing in the universities and then what are they taking back to china? youol know, all the things that the elites told us to do with china over the years, most favored nation status put them in the wto. oh, they'll be just like will be they'll be more democratic . it's been the opposite. it's empowered them, but then they become more autocratichen and they're now flexing their muscle more than they ever have in our lifetimes. >> i forgot to mention my list of horribles at the top, kamala
12:13 am
harris, but not by name, but she's also attacked you. i mean, you have to read between the lines, but this was the last week as well and by the hard right paraphrasing here. but how formidable is she in the future for the democrat party? soht here's the thing. i thought biden picking her at first is like the worstat decision ever because she's not great, but she's like the best impeaches an insurance and tweny fifth amendment insurance anyone could have because as badne as biden is , evennd though he can barely read the teleprompter and as much as people disapprove of them, nobody wants terrorists. and so they'd muchy rather stick with biden floundering around than actually turn the wheels of power over to somebody that clearly is over in overhead. >> lee zeldin with attacksin on while campaigning yesterday with a man like brass knucklesg and daggers affixed to the knuckles could have been ugly, but it was kindwa of downplayed a little bit by the coveredsn't really as it you know, it would have been if it were some kind ofrv conservative activists attacking a democrat. how concernedat are you about
12:14 am
violence against any politicians on campaignns trails or at public events or what was in congress on the baseball team? when the shooter shot steve scalise and he would have shot the entire team if you didn't have capitol police. what are t they trying to do with brad kavanaugh? you had somebody tried to kill redcap and processing. that is how i knowh. that i k. e at least here's the thing. new york's soft on crime policies. whatguy? they do with this guy, they released him. he's back outhi on the streets. i mean, you know, you're in f d.c. and you don't go to a subpoena for this kangaroo committee. you canit end up in federal prison. but yet if you go and potentially assassinate a governor candidate, they just put you right back on the street. very, very troubling. january six hearings are going to go into september. the country, it's not it doesn't even rank, i believe, ten . top most americans concern millions and millions of dollars spent here. thoughts on what you've seen so far . they're just trying to divert from biden's problems. i mean, they realize on the bread and butter issues, biden, the democratsr have n failed the american people. that's not even up for debate
12:15 am
a lot of their own voters think they have failed on all these key issues. what they want to do is make the election about something other than what is the top concerns for m the american people. it's not going to work. it may help them fundraise with their left wing base, but the american people aren't going to be are going tort be diverted. >> when you finally were listening when you were in the house. so that woulded mean i haven't o really heard much from her on other conservative issues or what do you found her laugh with her two years? i don't ever i don't think i ever talked with her about cancer treatments. i knew kinzinger because i was in congress with him for a few terms. you know, we had a number of veterans, so i knew him kind of through that, but never really worked with him on any issues. i don't think any republicans have gotten as much glowing press as liz cheney and adam kinzinger. why do you think that is the way it works in dc? if you're a democrat and you step out t of line against the party, the media falaise you and a smear you, you're republican that steps out of line and tax other republicans . you are the best thing since sliced bread. you get a profile in
12:16 am
"the washington post", you get booked on cnn. that's just parur forse the cou. i mean, i would hope most republicans are smart enough to realize that if the mediaia liks you, then you must not be doing a very good job because if you're doing a good job forre conservative voters, they are going to attack you. >> i'm justg t saying this, that the assistant secretary for health, their good friend rachel levine, wrote a piece in the miami herald sayingd thank you. >> gender affirming care is medically necessary, safe and effective for transgender and non nonbinary children, adolescentsrans shouldn't be had to translate that into knowledge that's more compassionate policies that protect rather than undermine youth mental health. governor , she said floridians support this quote, gender affirming and understand what that is . that's a euphemism. they will actually take a young boy and castrate the boy. they will take a young girl and do a mastectomy or they will sterilize her because of the gender dysphoria. there is no evidence that this
12:17 am
is something that's effective medical care. and we know that people that dong this when their kids have huge problems going on . so we believe that this is notoc appropriate in the state of florida. we don't think a doctor should get a license if they're doing it. and i think theseab doctors should be able tole be sued by these folks when they develop problems later in life. this is wrong. minors should not be having this type of stuffed performedon on them. well, there's a concern atla the same time that planned parenthood, with the help of some of the teachers unions, may be setting up shop in public schools across the united states as more of a counseling organization that's's that's what it's come o postrel. are you concerned? so weroro have a bright line in the sand. our school system is to educate, not indoctrinate. w we banned crt. we obviously had the big kerfuffle with disney where we say no gender ideology in the schools and we're going to keep with that. so if the union is trying to politicize it, they're trying to bring in left wing groups into our schools, we will absolutely fight that.
12:18 am
the corporations have been something i think americans didn't really understand much until you took on disney. has there been any blowbacke? and estate after you took on the big mouth? no, i think people were happy because they don't run this state and it's not right. at haveio public policy captive to a massive corporation and they have gotten more subsidies than any company in the history off our state. ey hthey have their own governm. they were exempt from the massive tax breaks and so we took action to say, okay, you can say what you want. those corporate values are notwi consistent with our base. you're not getting this special deal more. you will not haveeve your own government. you will live under the samebo laws as everybody and you will pay your fair share of s tax. >> now, weha all know that f your wife casey, who i've growne to know is a friend of mine, but she went through a veryid difficult cancer cancer struggle i did many years ago mh what have you learned from that? and in that healthug struggle as a husband and a father? well, i'll tell you what, she was incredibly strong throughout it. it is not easy.
12:19 am
obviously you've gone through it and i think especially in her case, i mean, at that time 4 when we got the diagnosis, we had for a three and a one year old, now they're five , five , four and two. sot i think it's like when something like that happens to you and you start to think aboutmort mortality, but then yu look and you have these wonderful little babies, mother should not be in a situation where they're potentially dyingr when they have these kids to raise. and so i think it was a lot of weight on our shoulders. i think she was looking, butdl she just decides, you knowe what, i'm going to handle. i'd rather be me than somebody else. and it wasn't easy. ea know, it's not easy. but i'll tell you, she is clicking on all cylinders now. and you know, the kids are harder to keep up with because as they're getting older, they're getting into more stuff. so we don't get a lot of rest around the house. but she is certainly, you know, recovered from that and is doing very, very well. >> governor , to santa fe, a busy day to day. thank you very much. really appreciate you joining us tonight. and next, just how bad is this november shaping upgo for? democrats are going to go over all the details with senator

november of this year. >> we're going to win in november. that's a lot of bravado given the headwinds that new poll of the fifty six most competitive battleground house districts found the republicans hold a four point advantage at 46% to 42% on the generic congressional ballot. now, in historical terms, that is a massive advantage for the gop presidential approval is driving that gap i while just 37% approve of biden in those battleground, 50% approve ofe trump. what's more , this, the latest polls showing that democrats are losing ground with nonwhiteh voters, especially hispanics and asians. now the red flags of the gop, according to axios, some senate races are potentially weaker. candidates allow individual democrat candidatess to run ahead of where biden is here now as rick scott, florida senator and chairman of the national republican senatorial committeee know, this is the fourth state, your home state where where you are right now with senator.
12:26 am
thank you. the senate is what a lot of republicans are worried about. let's start in pennsylvania where you have john fetterman, who's basically been mia illness. v other things amea against dr.s oz is very well known. what's going to happen to us is going to win. now all this is tied to get the money right. we've got to we've got to raisez the money. but dr. oz is a good guy who cares about the states. he's working hard. every time i talk to him, he's out on the campaign trail and vitaminre is nowhere to be seen as many as nine million dollars. >> and i think that's like one point five . whater the hecke were? the republicans? i think given any money that we've got to raise the money, the democrats always have more money than us . so if you want to help, should we win to five , five or four?us but i'm going to do everything i can to help memet get the money. >> but he's going to run and he's going to run a good race. hehe's a hard worker. he's a doctor .pe he cares about people. he's going to win, isn't the best. we've got to get the money or the best campaign argument and all these races even get itt away from the individual. say a votee for the democrat
12:27 am
is a vote for high gas prices, high gas prices, high food prices, afghanistan withdrawal ,open borders, you name it. i mean, this is biden's numbers are horrible because biden's policies are are bad and the democrats are. >> that's how they're voting. >> they're voting horribly. it's bad for the country. yeah. i vote for a democrat vote to vote to keep. >> chuck schumer is senate majority leader all across the country. republicans are energized even in pennsylvania since 1998. this is the first time more republicans voted in a midterms. and democrats actually tells ls twice as many republicans, democrats in ohio. one hundred fortyy five thousand more republicans, democrats inn north carolina. so we're i mean, we get the money, we win. >> a lot of people got to open up their wallets here. it isn't the economy or inflation, though that will matter to voters in november, according to msnbc watch or folks that would consider themselves to be conservative, to be pro-life. and yet at the same time, they have a hard time w stomaching what they saw unfold on january six and the efforts to undermine the democracy that
12:28 am
have come after this. and so a i know that these are real conversations that are playing out in households across the country and why so many people are having a hard time even determining whetherpu they are republican . >> okay, senator , around the dinner table are people talking about liz cheney and bennie thompson and jan, gas prices, food prices open border. you know just how weak biden that's what they're talking about. they're talking about family issues. they're talking about why are they teaching race theory? why schools? why dong democrats want to defud the police? and that's what they're talkinge about. one of the things that i loved about your blueprint that you laid out and you came on the show and talked about it, it was very specific issuepe after issue. the concern that a lot of us have when republicans take powere. it's like thirty days of, well, what do we do now? and the democrats are ready from day one this, this, this, this and this. aree you guys ready on day one on oversight investigations legislation? >> well, t i'm going to do everything i can. we've got to get ready.
12:29 am
i put out a plan to rescueic america .com the we've i have a plan. i mean, we've got to teach our kids this is the greatest country. we've got to make sure wepo stop this racial politics. we've got to make sure we're going to secure the border, cut , reduce regulation. that's exactly what we have to do and we have to fight forh those things. new . newt94 gingrich did it in 94 and they had a plan as soon as they won. they went in there. and that's when wedo have to do because, you know you know, chuck schumer is doing it every day now. >> well, they certainly are. senator , we appreciate you joining us . thank you so much. and tonight, we bring you a new series, red dragon rising. >>risi now, i told you last, if the united states is at risk off losing its top superpower status as china rises in the ranks, now case in point, were knowingly putting our national security at risk. according to the washington examiner, linked drone maker dji boosted its spending to lobby lawmakersg ahead of a vote banning the government from buying drones made in china. so in quarter two, it spentot three and eighty thousand dollars, the second largest total since it started doing this just six years ago.
12:30 am
so why do we need this ban? well, the defense department t warned exactly a year ago tomorrow that systems produced by dji pose potential threatsts to national security. but despite all this, the fbi and dhs made a stunning admission last week. >>week does the fbi currently purchase and use chinese made drones? yes or no? we do. you do is to teach us currently purchase and chinese made drones. dhs is prohibited. the purchasechin foreign made drones, small u.s. absent waivers for very specific circumstances. so you are i can followith with more specific details, but the answer's yes. >> joining me now is elbridge o corbey, former deputy assistant secretary of defense , author ofri the strategy of denial elbridge. i think americansat are watching this and they can't even believe their ears. why do we continue to engage in what is obvious self sabotage here? i think you're exactly right, laura . i mean, as governor desanctis
12:31 am
rightly said, i mean, china and the communist party of china is the number one threat to americans interests.. and yet we can't do something as small as banning drones that can surveil american territory that can fastback information, data, et cetera. so i mean, there's a lot ofmi talk and rhetoric out of the administration at parts of congress. but s when it comes to somethint as simple and self-evident as banning drones are being used by our own government security services, we can't get away with it. >> we can't do it. hi now,s this week, a chinese foreign ministry spokesperson warned of strong and resolute measures if nancy pelosi visits taiwan, saying that the chinese side has repeatedly stated its position on this. o we firmly oppose any form of official interaction between the united states in the taiwan region. elbridge apparently biden is essentially telling pelosino don't go now that ccp can order us around where we can travel.
12:32 am
