tactics. so-called "eco-warriors" armed with typically went after priceless works of art this weekend in italy. i say leave them there. other protesters blocked rush-hour traffic. the i-95 beltway in maryland, we showed it to you when it happened. other climate activists deflated tires on suvs in cities all across the nation. in recent months, far left activists have also scaled buildings, lit themselves on fire, and threaten to disrupt a congressional baseball game. now former vice president al gore seems to take things to a more extreme level, making this stunning comparison between climate deniers, as he calls them, and botched police responders in eve all day's school shooting. let's watch. >> climate deniers are in some

ways similar to all of those almost 400 law enforcement officers in uvalde, texas, who were waiting outside an unlocked door while the children were being massacred. they heard the screams, they heard the gunshots, and nobody stepped forward. confronted with this global emergency, what we are doing with our inaction and failing to walk through the door and stop the killing is not typical of what we are capable of as human beings. >> harris: kennedy, what happened? >> kennedy: condescending litigation, so incredibly insensitive, to score political points on an issue he's been wr. it's absolutely disgusting and when i hear the comments from the former vice president i say to myself this is why he's not president. his instincts have completely abandoned him. in terms of the people who are blowing themselves gluing themselves to priceless

works of art, we combined two aspect of this crisis. they are famous for telling people not to fly on private jets and then they fly on private jets. total hypocrites. the art people shouldn't glue their hands to harry and meghan's private plane! [laughter] >> harris: that way they couldn't take off. john? >> john: yes. wow, that was something. that's just a horrific thing to say. he looked like he was on a really fancy set, though, and they wonder, did he take the g6 where the g7 to get there? if he is not radical about it, he doesn't live it himself, we call it being a hypocrite where i come from. but the analogy to use uvalde, if we go with that analogy, which i hate to even do, where do the radical climate activists come in? would they be the ones holding

everyone hostage? >> harris: lara? >> lara: if you go back to his documentary, "an inconvenient truth," a lot of the things he predicted would happen did not happen. there was a chance that the polar ice caps are going to melt, the polar bears are not going to have anywhere to be. mount kilimanjaro is going to have no snow left in ten years and obviously none of those things happened. i think the problem is there is so much hyperbole around the climate situation. then you get people who are gluing themselves to pieces of art, people doing these really radical, outlandish things, when you are not addressing the main concerns. when you're not talking about china, india, you are leaving these people to pollute the rest of the world and then it's supposed to be up to the rest of us to either pay the high gas prices or get on board with an electric car. i think people find it really frustrating to hear -- john, you just pointed out, from someone

clearly flying around on the private plane all the time, talking to us and telling us that we are not doing enough and it's such a disaster. >> harris: talking down to us. >> lara: yeah. >> harris: i wonder what the conversation is like inside the white house, with the president going to beg for oil in places like venezuela, who are such dirty providers of it, willing to go to saudi arabia to beg when we could do our own here. but he wants to flex and make it look like we are becoming more green. but it's a much more expensive to buy it on a global market. do you think anyone calls him out on that? pt we certainly do, and we say all the time what performative activism looks like versus actual activism. to your point about al gore, i totally agree. if your goal is to get everyone on board and if your purpose is to say the situation affects every single human, explain why and why i need your allyship, that's not the way to do it. making an analogy so unnecessarily and frankly horrifying, denigrating law enforcement in the process, that's not the way to have

people listen to you. it's a way to expel them, to your point, because we are looking at someone who thinks they are better than we are, who fights privately, who ignores their own proselytization, and we are supposed to listen to them trash law enforcement along the way? and his brainwashed children gluing themselves to priceless works of art are calling it nonviolent civil disobedience, a minor inconvenience, and that it pales in comparison, they say, to the effect of climate change. that's not a minor inconvenience. there's a reason felony vandalism and why you go to jail for many years, why that is so hard to quantify or qualify is because it is so inherently important to our culture and they have thrown it away because no one has taught them any differently. >> harris: that is such a good point. why do they get to decide what is most important to us? why did they get to decide, the "woketivists," as i call them,

why did they get to decide? you see enough of it destroyed in wars. we live in a time, look at what happened in syria and areas of so much rich history. so many hundreds of years. why do they get to decide for us by sticking their nasty hands on that art? >> kennedy: because they are attention whoo-er. >> harris: did you say "whoo-er?" >> kennedy: asked, i did. [laughter] they want to do something that gets the most bang for their buck. it is so shrill and they have these emotional arguments that, when you claim the sky is falling over and over again and it's still there, nobody listens to you. you become a pariah as opposed to a steward or a responsible messenger. and they are only doing that because that is what gets traction. they don't care about art. i don't think they even care about the planet. they are bored and looking for attention. steele and john? >> john: i think

they should with her hands to al gore's private jet. >> harris: we've got a lot of hands and we've got a lot of jets. >> lara: have you ever try to get superglue off your hands? that's really tough. had they just left them there -- i think it was on glass in front of the art. maybe that would have been a deterrent for future individuals, kennedy, who want to make a big scene and get this attention. maybe it would have deterred some of them. >> harris: i do want to show quick at that turbine, the wind turbine, that was on fire over the weekend. and maybe, emily, get your quick thoughts on this. because we are not at the point yet where we can sustain some of the things we are hearing out of people who are activists on this, woketivists, as i say. even though i house goes out and spends $60,000, $70,000 on electric car. our grids are suffering. when you see this, what goes

through your mind? >> emily: i appreciate that point so much, and you're right. the transition is not immediate, and some type of switch being flipped that these advocates are calling for is totally unsustainable, unrealistic, and the fact that to them a job in a livelihood wrapped up in all of that means nothing, no one acknowledges, i feel like, in those extremists, the end game or the long-term result of that and tied transmission. but they are advocating for is so unrealistic and so long term, when we see that, that's a perfect example that is not immediate and there needs to be a shoring up and an acknowledgment of what needs to occur before you transition. >> kennedy: but that's the best point, they need to acknowledge we need a ramp. we are not there yet. if you try and get there too quickly, people are going to suffer and you are going to increase poverty in this country. that means more people won't be able to take care of themselves and their families. it's heartless and totally

have plummeted. americans obviously still feeling that pain at the pump. a new quinnipiac poll but the president's approval at an all-time low, just 31%, and other recent polls show maybe americans don't want him to run into 124. it seems neither do many in the media. headline after headline telling the president not to seek a second term. just the latest, an op-ed in "the washington post" with this headline: "quit, joe, quit." he goes on to say, "president biden should announce now that he won't run for reelection in 2024. he should not ask the democratic party where they should to assume the risk of a second run after he reaches the age of 82." i think it has so much to do with everything we listed before, rather than the age itself, which is his utmost failures. >> lara: you can just look at joe biden and see there is a disconnect. he's not the same as his predecessor in many ways. we don't have enough time to

discuss all of that. but the suggestion by "the washington post," of all places, that joe biden should not seek a second term, i mean, they were some of his biggest supporters, don't forget, in 2020. but the suggestion is he should just get it all out there because everybody already knows he's probably not going to run. there's a lot of chatter in the democrat party. and instead of focusing on joe biden not running, possibly, they can just focus on these midterms, which they are very, very nervous about on the democrat side. i think joe biden served his purpose. he was sort of put their to do the bidding of the far left radicals in the democratic party. he has achieved that in many ways, talking about the high gas prices that are ultimately they are hoping to force people to get electric cars, and now they are ready for the next one. he's done, they are done with him, move on. even "the washington post" thinks so. >> emily: that's interesting because he calls himself the transition president, and, john, to lara's point, americans care

about what's going on in the families and in our communities and with our paychecks because 28% say they approve of biden's handling of the economy, 66% disapprove, and the biggest concern right now for americans is inflation. they are at a 40-year high of 9.9%. that's way when the heckler said to his wife, "biden owes me gas money," he owes us a lot more than that. >> john: what he has done has stepped so far outside the bounds of political differences that now it is hitting everybody on daily things they deal with. gas prices, don't care if you are a democrat or republican. when you buy a dozen eggs and you're like, "how much are these eggs?" and you go to costco undecided buy the big book stuff, that affects everybody, too. he said he was going to bring unity and i saw the poll earlier this month that said 88% of americans said we were on the wrong track in this country. that is quite a feat to get

americans to agree on 80% of anything, but joe did it. good job, joe. we are unified in that we don't like what's going on. >> emily: part of the argument in the article said that they deemed his lack of decision or that he might run again, that it's a distraction. we need a president that can deal with these urgent matters now, but isn't that what a president should do all the time no matter what regardless of the future? >> harris: yes, and to respect the fact that his wife thinks he hasn't had an easy go of it because there has been all these -- you have to expect that's part of the job and come clean to the fact they've caused some of it. can we put the "quit, joe, quit," back on the wall? there's a section of that i want to .2. this idea that if he says now he's not going to run for a second term, that can save the midterm elections for the democrats. that is so untrue. that is beyond all the news that is fit to print, but i think that's "the new york times" "new york times." [laughter] >> kennedy: the old gray lady!

steel and it exceeds the amount of time or space you get to put things that aren't true. that is not what is going to save them. it's all the policies that have changed between now and novembe. it's 106 days away. that's not going to happen. >> emily: kennedy, to these points, if the policies are not working and the media and his own party and the american public are strongly screaming, "we don't like this," why hasn't that message been received? a year and a half income he's utterly failing in the eyes of every institution that analyzes him, yet it seems not to have penetrated his brain yet. >> kennedy: that is such a good question and i know it's hard to admit when you've failed, especially when you are a politician and your job is to sell yourself and get people to like you. all anyone is doing is admitting they have total buyers remorse. they were sold joe biden by the democrat establishment as the savior of the nation. the person who can heal the great trumpian divide, and all

he has done is plunge this economy into this dante's inferno when we are going level after level, deeper and deeper, as more prices spiked. housing, gas, mortgages now, and on top of that he's got all these foreign policy failures. he doesn't know what he's doing in ukraine. he is appeasing china. he doesn't have an answer for anything, and when it hits close to home, people are like, "i'm done with you, and did something else," but they'll never be able to admit that. do your point, there's no point way hecan pull the plug right nw because all that does is unleash a firestorm of people jockeying for 2024. >> harris: 100%. >> kennedy: democrats that are going to take all the oxygen out of the room and not make it any better. >> harris: and democrats would not be concentrating on any way, shape, or form to get bipartisan relief for americans come november if the house and potentially even the senate were to flip. nobody's going to do their jobs within the swamp at all because

his belongings. as a victim lay there seriously hurt, and he is now in the hospital in critical condition while the police are searching for the three suspects. kennedy, this is beyond horrifying. >> kennedy: no, and this is not just a new york problem. this happening in los angeles, in chicago, obviously. we talk about these crime rates, just going through the roof. you were saying during the break, god help us if this is the new normal. here he is out at six in the morning running his errands and doing his thing, probably out for a run before it gets too hot, thinking he's got a jump on his day commonalities in critical condition in the hospital. i hope they catch these people. there has to be some sort of a deterrent, because the stories we are hearing now, people have no respect for human life. and that's terrifying. and there's nowhere to run. i'm sorry, but if you leave new york and you go to another city, even minneapolis, portland, it's the same thing happening. the murder rate in portland is

five times higher than it was last year. >> emily: there is no deterrent on those diminished resources. part of the reason why the citywide tactical emergency was declared is because so many officers that were present had to respond to their shooting, that it left the rest of the area depleted. so it's a logistical function. for the community trying to be safe or protected, they are low on officers because the cities were defunded. >> harris: we have to remember, right after the death of george floyd when the peaceful protesters were infiltrated by insurgents who set stuff on fire and who are willing to set on fire a precinct of people, when the officer was murdered, when those rioters went off and set the level of violence at such a high place, that started to change us as a nation and how we saw criminals versus the rest of us. especially having some democrat mayors, a couple of them, say

"give them room. let them work it out." if you want to create a situation like this, you start like that. now we are in 2022. we do have fewer officers. some of them were defunded. suicide rates are up. so we have changed and it's going to take some time to set the course. the president announcing his $37 billion bill, "oh, i'm going to put money back into leasing," talk to your party about the money that's gone, but not just that. the great people that are gone, it's going to take time to replace those resources. >> emily: that's right. john rich, the collateral damage while everyone figures this out our human lives, human beings. >> john: seeing that image, the guy get hit by car, normally you would think those people would run up to help this guy and see if he's okay. does he need them to call an ambulance? but they robbed the guy. it is so devoid of humanity on its basic level that it is

really a frightening thing to see. it's very animalistic and in no way it reminds me of a pack of wolves that would see an injured bird and run in on it and devour bird. there is biblical things, too, that says the devil roams this earth seeking whom he may devour. the more we take god out of our conversations, the more certain people in power try to erase him from american life and the public square, the more you're going to see things like this happening. the only reason people do things like that is to be totally devoid of god, no doubt about it. >> emily: lara, what is like for you? a life long new yorker and now in florida, these cities are becoming these places of hell, frankly. what is it like to go back and forth? >> lara: i've done what so many people have dead, people have left the big cities because of horrific situations like this. it is inhumane, devoid of any value whatsoever, and it's

really scary. i have young children, and so many people, i think, saw the sort of thing happening. the increasing crime and the murder rates, kennedy, going up. and they said, "i can't raise a family in a place like this," but it's hard to escape because they spent so much defunding of police across the country and so many different areas and it is a cyclical situation. you have defunded the police, a lot of the folks left retired, and they are having a hard time bringing people on board. he wants to bring their life on the line when you go out there and arrest these criminals and an hour or two later they are back out on the street, because the d.a.s are not doing their job keeping people locked up and keeping that people off the street? it's terrifying and, quite frankly, i don't want to have my kids in a situation where they are in a city where things like this happen, and so many agree with that. >> emily: remember the 67-year-old woman sucker punched in the face here in new york city, by someone who was a recidivist criminal and let out a million times, and the husband was like, "how many more

as a matter of fact, i decided instead of putting it on twitter, facebook, and youtube, we only launched it on a true social and rumble. and after six hours it was the number one most downloaded song in america. >> harris: how does the words come to you? you sit down and write it, doesn't pour out of you? >> john: i wrote this with a couple of great songwriters in nashville, jeffrey steele and vicki mcgehee. they love their country and we see what's happening. in country music we write about what's going on, with her in our personal life or having a party with kennedy somewhere. you might write a song about that. but this song, it was so ironic to me that all these things happening in our country that are so negative are done under the banner of the word "progress." it's the inverse of progress, which is kind of their trick. that's what i like to do. and that's ironic because i

would not define progress is a terrible list of things. i would define progress as my family is okay, i can afford to live. my country is safe, the borders are closed, fentanyl isn't running through the neighborhood come on and on. that's my version of progress. if that's their version of progress, and a nice country way, you can stick it where the sun don't shine. >> kennedy: what do you come up with first, lyrics or music? >> john: this was later expressed. i was walking around in a home depot in nashville looking at the prices of lumber, like a two by four was $12, $13. and i went, "progress, there it is." it's the mustard existing thing ever seen. i went down in my truck and this little, "stick your progress where the sun don't shine," i'm not cussing anybody out but we are not pulling any punches. all the rest of them that we'll probably never know about, that kind of debacle and that kind of offensive thing that happens in our country, that offended

everybody regardless of being a republican, democrat, or otherwise. in the song it says, "if you leave us alone, well, we'd all be just fine." that's like a libertarian the tg to say but that's an american thing to say. let us keep enough of our money to go do what we want to do with it, give us a chance to fail and the chance to go forward, a right to pursue happiness. you know, the basic things that make america america. it seems to me that the dismantling of what we are seeing right now, let's going on. why are they doing these things? even though the polls are down in the ditch, they double and triple down. why? so they can get the country under control. that's why they are doing it, and we've had enough of it, and i think that's why the song is number one. >> harris: you know what's interesting, as you look back on their history, there's always music that takes us through these times. i love what you said. aren't we the most resilient on the planet? >> john: i've still got a grin on my face. i think it'll be fine when all is said and done. >> kennedy: bring up such an excellent point, people don't forget things like afghanistan

or that the federal government has left families behind. they are going to keep smiling and keep taking care of their neighbors, but when the comeuppance comes, they'll be ready. >> lara: i'm not surprised, by the way, that this is number one, john. so many people have found something they can play, and it's what we all feel right now. people are looking for some sort of an outlet, looking for something they can blast in their car, and they can really get behind it. everybody understands what you are saying in this song because we all feel it. we are like, "just leave us alone, let us live our lives," and gosh, it's so true. i'm not surprised is number one. >> emily: we know country music is three chords and the truth. what's so powerful that in addition to being beautiful and the lyrics are that stunning imagery, so it's the story of a trifecta powerful message that you are sending forth, that everyone holds. you are singing what we are feeling and what we are looking at. that's progress?
