>> fox news medical contributor joining us in a few moments on what this means. talk to us about this so-called rebound infection. first let's go to david live on the north lawn at the white house. >> hi. clearly not something we expected today. i don't think anyone expected this. he was going to go to wilmington delaware tomorrow. the white house announced the trip to michigan on tuesday. both of those events have been canceled. delaware and michigan because of this rebound positivity test. we have a letter from the president position, he says after testing negative on tuesday evening, wednesday morning, thursday morning and friday morning, the president tested positive saturday morning by antigen testing. this represents rebound positivity. the president has expensed no

reemergence of symptoms and continues to feel quite well. there was no reason to reinstate treatment at this time. we will continue close observation. the president tweeting out to his millions of followers, i tested positive for covid again. this happens with a small minority of folks. i have no symptoms. i will isolate for the safety of everyone around me. i am still at work and will be back on the road soon. it is notable the president after dealing with his covid out last week came out of isolation. some days he had a mask on some days he did not around people. it was not clear if he was following cdc guidelines. many say he did not follow guidelines. as he sits in isolation for a few more days, he will no doubt be thinking about the movements of house speaker nancy pelosi, the third in line to the presidency. and mine to travel several countries.

the chinese government says do not do it. scheduled to visit japan, korea and singapore. she will not give a firm answer. the white house will not either. the party, the communist party in china is saying just don't go. >> i don't ever talk about my travel because it is a security issue. a security issue for every member of congress traveling, especially abroad. for the speaker, it is additional security issue. >> and official connected to state media in china suggested shooting down speaker pelosi's government plane if she entered the airspace in taiwan. quite the rhetoric there. terrible rhetoric to hear. the white house did not want to comment specifically on that or her travel. we do know that she is in asia. no firm announcement. we have been checking all day to see if she isn't taiwan now or

she will be going. we may find out after the fact if she does indeed take that trip. >> you will have more on that shocking chinese rent and whether or not the speaker will go to taiwan. thank you. >> meanwhile, we have more now on president biden positive covid test. we will bring in family medical doctor, also a fox news medical contributor. you just heard david report that the doctor will not reinstate treatment. why is that? would you consider this a reinfection or an extension of his original infection? >> that is a good question. i still think it is the original same infection. i am a little bit surprised the doctor did not give him another round. we saw some patients get a second round. he was probably not prescribed a second round because he has no symptoms, according to his

doctor. not running a fever, not having fatigue. we don't have data that shows that it is beneficial. we do have to wonder, why does this happen? we believe that it is because of insufficient drug exposure. not enough of the drug is getting into the cells to stop the drug from replicating. after taking another look, should we make it a seven day course of antiviral or attend a course? these are the things we need to take into consider as well as we have another drug. this was studied last year. we do have this sub variant of omicron and that may play a role but it is still very effective according to what i am seeing with my patients and it's only a handful of my patients that have this rebound most of them deal very well on it. >> you and your community, start to take a second look. maybe this should be beyond.

as you pointed out, president biden says he is not experiencing any symptoms and he is still working in isolation. what would the focus of the president doctors and medical team b given this news? >> so, i would think they would continue to monitor him. he may not have any symptoms now, could that change? he tested positive because the viral load went up in his system. they will watch his temperature, his oxygen level to make sure it is in the high 90s. make sure he is not wheezing, not having any shortness of breath. previously, he was using an inhaler for his coffin taking tylenol for his fatigue and body aches. also his temperature as well. seeing if he does start again.

maybe get him a round of monoclonal antibodies or another five day prescription. >> probably still in his system. i guess at the way whether or not getting the monoclonal antibodies at this time is okay for the president. president biden is not the first person to get covid more than once. still many unknowns about what reinfection's due to the body. what concerns you about patients getting covid multiple times? >> that is right. you can develop what is called long covid. we still don't have evidence that data to know what exactly will transpire to, read, five years from now. what i am seeing is the most common long covid symptoms are chronic headache, fatigue,

shortness of breath. some of my patients tell me they feel winded. they cannot go on that run or walk like they normally do. they don't have that full strength and energy. a lot of them get better with time. sometimes it is many many months and sometimes it is a couple of years. it is a good point that you make. we want to try to prevent it in the first place so we minimize any chance of long covid. twenty-25% of those that have covid will develop long covid. we still need more time and more data to figure out how this will affect us. >> sure. finally, david reported that the president tested negative tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday. although he tested positive again today, he has no symptoms. what does this say about the

importance of home testing for those of us that are not the president? >> if you are a high-risk individual you could go ahead and take that extra step to protect yourself. the cdc does not recommend at this point that you have to be retested after five days. if you quarantine, you have no symptoms. it's not required you be retested. it is recommended you wear a mask out in the public or five additional days it is perfectly fine. if you have a home testing you are curious and you want to know, sure, you can test yourself. we don't need to deal random testing unless you are concerned. go be near someone else who is high-risk. >> doctor, thank you so much for joining us. okay. take care. >> the death toll continues to rise after the historic flood that happened on thursday. the governor says 25 people have

died and officials expect that number to sadly grow. it may take weeks to find all of the victims. crews are still conducting rescue missions and evacuating flooded areas. the governor urged everyone to find a safe place to stay because they do expect more rain they are in the coming days. >> make sure that you are in a safe place. i do not want to lose one more person. we care about you. it's not fair it's going to rain again, but it is. >> about 18,000 people in kentucky still without power. another 29,000 residents are under a boil water advisory. turning to the midterms. a competitive race in the republican senate primary in missouri. coming down to the wire. vying for their party's nomination. the chance. meantime, a proxy battle between former president trump and

visit by the house speaker. do you think that nancy pelosi should go to taiwan? >> she absolutely has to go. if she does not go will at this point, if she does not go, she will be emboldening the worst aspects, elements in the chinese political system because she will be showing everybody that chinese intimidation tactics work. there are violations -- there are relations that will get even worse. the point is right now she has to go or relations will get worse. >> what blowback would there be from beijing? >> china could do any number of things. if she goes, she will be arriving by plane. they could try to turn her plane back, try to declare no fly over

taiwan. a lot of people say, well, you know, the chinese will not shoot down nancy pelosi's plane. i can agree with that, but when you put aircraft in close connection with other aircraft, you can have that. china has been provoking incidents in the air, a very serious one on may 26, for instance where it almost brought down an australian crafts. >> what happened in that case? >> something that no military had ever done before. very close across the nose and then it fired aluminum meant to confuse radar. some of that got ingested into one of the two engines which means the plane could have crashed. the other thing is chinese fired flares. it is believed that no military has ever done that in history. this is an incredibly dangerous

tactic on the part of the chinese. >> do take that threat that they would shoot the house speaker's plane down? you just said you doubt they would do that. how serious is that? ronald reagan aircraft strike there. they probably would be protecting the house speaker's government plaintiff in fact she did go. what level do you think this is just bluster? regular propaganda that we hear? beyond what you just said could they do? what are the implications? >> i am extremely concerned. i think they calculate theory different than the way we think that they do. they do not respect president biden. after the withdrawal from afghanistan, after the failure, chinese are very arrogant right now. also, we have to remember a lot to lash out.

because of domestic problems which i think are insoluble for the communist party. we focus on taiwan and speaker pelosi. at this very instance, we have chinese troops deepen indian -controlled territory in the himalayas. yesterday china sailed four warships through japanese territorial water in the east china sea and just a couple of weeks ago, china provoked for the second time in about nine months and incident in the south china sea against the philippines. as a matter fact bad to threaten the use of force against china to get them to back off. the chinese are lashing out. yes, we have to think that chinese can do things that will take us by surprise. >> this party congress coming up that could make an president or life. as you just said, is some of this for domestic reasons?

how does he react with that? >> he has staked his legitimacy, his right to rule on taking over taiwan. this problem cannot be passed down from generation to generation. he can actually do things, grabbing an outlying island of taiwan, some of them are just 5 miles from the chinese coast. he could do a number of different things. there's a lot of complacency right now in washington about china. i think that we are not looking at china, the way that chinese themselves are looking at this. this is much more dangerous than we think that it is. >> finally, gordon, is it possible because they don't confirm the speaker schedule that she won't go to taiwan at all and they will say it was never on the trip? all this speculation is meaningless but she never intended for that to be part of her trip and that will give them an easy out. >> that is a possibility. we know that president biden

director that is still in disbelief over the crime. thieves stole from his business for about five hours straight. take a look at this disturbing surveillance video. black cat jazz club rated by thieves. the operations director said people took their sweet time stealing tens of thousands of dollars in alcohol and pricey music equipment. >> it does not seem real. our places destroyed. all of the design, all of the little things that we do here. >> it is just a shame. someone first broken early tuesday morning. a person was then arrested outside of the club, but later released. the fire department then put some tape on a shattered door on the building but they say the wind blew the tape right off so the place ended up getting rated by more than 25 people for at

the biden administration is quietly fortifying the border wall near yuma arizona. that campaign pledge at not one more foot would be built. customs and border protection reports -- like the one seen here in yuma help migrants get to the country essentially unimpeded. we are live at the border in texas with details. >> president biden has long said that he would build no more border wall. that changed on thursday with the department of homeland security giving the green light to build walls around yuma arizona. these would connect for areas of trump air out walls. these were long and eyesore and really a symbol of the failure of order politics.

fentanyl to kill the population of michigan, arizona and georgia combined. we are losing perspective of how we will lose a whole generation of americans if we don't do something right now. that is why keep fighting, i keep suing joe biden over title 42, over the border wall because we are paying the cost every single day. not only arizona, but as americans. >> the seizures, the amount of seizures are at record highs. some would say that that shows that the policies are working because they are seizing that stuff. the mexican authorities, half a ton of fentanyl in the warehouse over the border. do you see it continuing and how do you -- can it be fully stopped? >> working with local and federal officials every few

months. we keep breaking the worst kind of record you want to break. fentanyl and methamphetamine coming into our country. more than 8000 pounds of fentanyl has been seized. enough to kill everyone in this entire country. the problem is the border patrol agents are processing people, because they are getting a free pass to come into this country. they are flowing drugs across while border patrol agents are out of the fields. that is why they said, i'm in the courtroom every single day tried to stop the biden administration from doing what they are doing and just get them to enforce the law as it is. at the department of justice and the biden administration, decriminalizing people coming here and there is no consequence , you will continue to see this escalating violence in americans dying. >> it is continuing and it is so tragic. just go to the communities and see the devastation. people watching right now that
