destroyed the biden agenda. so it looks like he is caving. >> brian: in a way, sure. what i find really insulting, and he shouldn't signed off on that, is the name of it. nobody thinks it's going to address the number one issue in america, and that is inflation, and that's apolitical. there are things in your fossil fuels, no doubt about. this 2 million acres of federal land to be opened up. it's kind of vague, but they say opening up the permit system. it's almost impossible to get a permit to punch holes in the ground, and there's 60 million acres that have to be available offshore. so there are some fossil fuel provisions, but for the most part this is the biggest climate change package in the history of our nation, and at a time in which we are looking at inflation, supply chain issues, where we can get baby formula. is this the time to transform? >> you hear pete buttigieg say

that, and the joint committee on taxation also said, when comes to fuel, if you're wondering, there is a lot in there for climate and for the environment. they say the excise tax will go up by $17 on every barrel of oil and that will increase the price you pay at the pump, of course. "the wall street journal" did a abig article in the city will be paying more. the tax increase on everyone. and it says taxes will rise by $16.7 billion in 2023 on americans earning less than $200,000 a year. taxpayers earning between $200,000 and $500,000 will pay $14.1 billion more. this gives alleged democratic claims that no one will pay more taxes under the bill. the promise that mr. biden also made in his campaign. if arizona senator kyrsten sinema and other democrats want to sign up for this tax ball and chain, barely

american rescue plan, the covid relief bill, would not cause inflation. so i should americans believe you now when you say this new bill will not exacerbate inflation? >> i'm sure they won't make that mistake again. >> lawrence: brian, do you believe him? >> ainsley: how do you trust him if it was a mistake before? >> brian: he feels as though he got some other things on fossil fuels that it wasn't a cave, but the problem is, again, it's total deception. if they named it the climate fossil fuel bill, we've got an interesting debate, but they named it something it wasn't, and in the pen wharton school of business, which he has done many times, they came out and said it's going to have almost no if not a negative effect on inflation over the course of ten years. so don't even say it addresses it. so we'll see. they say, if we are going to start doing these solar panels and wind turbines, you have to make it here.
