taiwan there is what growing speculation that she will visit taipei as soonest tomorrow. of course that's not sitting well with beijing because it views the independent nations as its territory. chinese foreign minister terry spokesperson is making it abundantly clear there will be serious consequences if that visit goes ahead saying we would like to once again warned the united states that we are fully prepared and solemnly waiting to bear the people's liberation army will never sit by idly and if nancy pelosi insists on visiting taiwan -- as for what measures exactly, we will take and see if she dares making the visit. you know i think about, this doesn't have to happen in my view. this be the first time in 25 years you'd have a house speaker visit, the biggest visit of united states official going back to 1987.

it's an porton it happens because a verbal commitment was made and we must show strength. >> and you think about all of the foreign policy debacles we've had starting with the afghanistan withdrawal which was horrible and led to the death of u.s. servicemen and women. the russia ukraine, we were talking before the show, i asked if trump had had a second term if russia had invaded ukraine a lot of people think he wouldn't. i think you would agree with that, that putin would not have invaded because he was afraid. weakness and mismanagement come i would also include the border crisis in those foreign debts were talking about foreigners coming in illegally to the country. all of those problems had to do with weakness and mismanagement. if we give into the demands and threats quite frankly in the ccp right now, the communist party in china, i mean it's going to show them, it's going to give them a clue, another clue about our weakness. give them a little push into taiwan it would be disastrous if
9:03 am
we did it not only for taiwan, which of course would be defenseless unless they had help from the united states, as an ally. but for all of our problems around the world, it would once again send a signal of weakness of this administration and of the united states in general. >> kayleigh: you and i were speaking before we went to air about economic strength against china, would you assess the strength of united states and the biden administration economically? >> i find it ironic that president biden and the administration, they don't want nancy pelosi to go. it's not on the official itinerary to be clear. if she does go he will come out and tell her frankly don't do it, it's bad optics with from turn aside and that to me is a weakness of this president. the economic punch is much more of a threat to china than anything were going to suggest it will be a military threat to china. why do i say that? right now you have a company,
9:04 am
alibaba, it's a multibillion dollar company. it is there amazon in china. so the sec is threatening to d list alibaba cup because they want -- what is that matter? this is the pocketbooks of china and xi jinping that you're about to take a huge swipe at and you can do it at the sec it's doing it, not president biden, not the administration, not nancy pelosi. to david's point about weakness i think it's so unfortunate that we have the tools in our toolbox in this country to go after china, hit them where it hurts, money not military, money. and he won't do it. he won't stand up to china. and as president trump do that with tariffs and sanctions and all of that is off the table and not even being discussed petrarca my nancy pelosi, go ahead and go to taiwan. >> it's a language they chinese understand, finances and money. on a play a sound bite if
9:05 am
someone were to take place here is she answered. >> officials associated with chinese big media is suggesting that speaker pelosi playing could be shot down does the president have a response to that? >> i've been asked -- i know you're asking specifically about the rhetoric we are hearing from china. but as it relates to the speakers travel, something that were just not going to speak to right now it's hypothetical. >> it was a real threat. the action was hypothetical but i think john kirby had a much better answer. this nobody said. >> and we are going to make sure of that. there's no reason for the chinese rhetoric, there is no reason for any actions to be taken.
9:06 am
it's not uncommon for congressional leaders to travel to taiwan. we shouldn't be intimidated by that rhetoric. or those potential actions. this is an important trip to the speaker to be on and were going to do whatever we can to support. >> that should've been the message from the get-go. apparently president biden did not want nancy pelosi to take this trip the department of defense also against it. we pay billions of dollars to keep the united states the number one superpower. it's always better for the american people to have more information rather than less but i hate that there is this reporting out there right now the nancy pelosi might be going to taiwan. it reminds me when work reporting of the weapons the united states might be sending to ukraine giving russia the chance to respond and retaliate when it comes to dust we get some secrecy here? there's been so many leaks in the story. and this is serious, high-level stuff. if chinese officials now threatening to shoot down
9:07 am
nancy pelosi's plane, which could be a threat of a declaration of war. she's not a navy seal, she's an 82-year-old lawmaker trying to do the right thing. now she's being put in this impossible situation. tom cotton says this initial leak came from the white house directly trying to dissuade nancy pelosi for making this trip. if that's true president biden needs to absolutely be held accountable for this because it puts her in this horrible situation, possibly puts her in danger. if our nancy pelosi i'll be absolutely furious right now. i just want to have a bit of flashback care. were talking about taiwan back in may because president biden made this massive calf coming to this moment. >> are you willing to get involved militarily to defend taiwan if it comes to that? >> yes. >> you are? >> that's a commitment we made.
9:08 am
>> the white house staff had to come out after her and say didn't mean that. typically i'm glad i'm not the only one thinking about that. especially when you combine that with the fact that of course nancy pelosi is someone that's been sort of consistent on this kind of thing. if another thousand eight the big she was trying to push back and saying we should say no to this when it comes to in terms of the bet. but the biden administration does not want her going, as cheryl brought up that something we all know. even set as much last week but whenever he makes any kind of comment on anything, which is something that i haven't really seen in recent history in terms of a president, bill ike okay is that really what he said? did he really mean what he said? he says things and then everybody else actually makes the decisions. if he plays that up against what he said last week none of these things make sense together. by the way can i decide this is not a difficult situation to try navigate.
9:09 am

what i just want to add also that in terms of the biden administration. there are actually not doing anything they could be doing to help people who are illegal who want to become legal, want to, here and work and do so. they've wasted -- massive amounts of green cards that have given to people sponsored by employers are family members here in the united states. they do have this reputation of being too easy on immigration, but really they are not allowing people who do want to come here and work, who i would encourage people to be able to do that, they're completely wasting all of that. >> could i jump in because i have a very personal aspect to all of this. i have family members living abroad, my wife is from nicaragua, we've been trying for 12 years to get one of those family members -- i won't mention which one to come into the united states. she wants to do it legally, she can't get a green card even though she speaks perfect

9:19 am
you know they've backed themselves into a corner where they can't get people who are qualified legally to work for the county of los angeles, to actually come to work for the county of los angeles. there's one good thing here, maybe will start to see a bit less i.d. theft in the state of california. remember if you're going out and paying for a social security number it -- there are dealers all over the internet. you can buy a social, you can buy in identity, you can have an address. >> can i mention one thing that carley was saying about doing it for political reasons. it's not working. the latino community in america, most of them came here legally and quirked their butt off to get a green card. they are leaving democrats in droves. in the past couple of weeks it's changed a little bit but my wife worked very hard to get her green card first and then to become a citizen. it took her over ten years to do that. my son, my stepson from
