better guest, perfect timing decision, thank you, mike issue great to be with you. everyone have a good weekend. "faulkner focus" is next. >> harris: new york city getting a taste what it is like for americans living near the southern border. united states on pace to see 2 million illegal immigrants cross into the sovereign nation. on this friday morning, the first bus load arrived in manhattan, courtesy, texas governor. i'm harris faulkner. greg abbott is getting the nation's attention and keeping it, sending illegals to washington, d.c. and bussing them to new york city escalating feud with liberal big city mayors abbott extended invitation to new york mayor eric adams to witness the crisis first hand.
8:01 am
adams said no and a few other words. with that, america's dangerous influx is heading northeast. mayor eric adams says his city resources can't take it. >> invite those who are trying to find housing in his state to give them housing instead of sending them here, federal government has responsibility, fema, needs to give us support that we need. >> harris: calling for federal government to help? that is not fresh or new, it is for them. governor abbott says what liberal city mayors are facing is nothing compared to what texas and other border states have been dealing with for months. nate foy reporting. nate. >> that bus load of 50 migrantss arrived 7 a.m. issue the green bus circled manhattan before

stopping at the port authority authority behind me and a group of 50 migrants offloaded from the bus, mixture of single adult men, few women, majority from venezuela. they were met by 10 volunteers, given clothes, sandwiches and water, some children handed stuffed animals. one child arrived with diabetes and no insulin. i spoke with the migrants best i could with the language barrier, few have guilty connection in the united states. governor abbott says it is necessary to bus migrants elsewhere, texas communities are overrun. >> we bussed 6500 illegal immigrants to washington, d.c. and they cannot handle that one single challenge, we deal with that number every single day, i got one thing to tell you and them, there are more buses on the way.
8:03 am
>> harris, governor abbott says washington, d.c. and now new york city, are the ideal destination for the migrants because he says the migrants can receive city services and housing that eric adams and bowser boasted about in the past, the cities have called their cities sanctuarys. >> we have a housing crisis, help us here, housing and translation services, education, it is food and so much that goes into this and we think that all of those border states that are not doing what we're doing and ensuring we are welcoming people and helping people, they need to do a better job. >> harris, within the past hour, the press secretary for mayor adams is responding to the bus load of migrants on twitter and says governor abbott is paying

relations. china launched ballistic missiles around taiwan, five landed in japanese waters marking first time they have used missile targeting to strike inside japan's economic zone. experts are saying chinese communist party may be doing this as trial run for sealing off taiwan. critics are getting louder now with calls for president biden to step up to china, but white house spokesperson john kirby is defending the president. >> when russia was getting aaggressive around ukraine, the president was telling putin, don't do it and now china getting aggressive around tains and we're not hearing from the president. >> i beg to differ. >> you said there is not a call scheduled with xi, is there a reason why? president biden has known him for decades, he's got a lot of free time in the residence this

8:07 am
behind. you have chinese communist party testing him and he said we can't allow a member of congress to travel to an independent sovereign nation. they see weakness and inaction and tyrants in the world will try to drive a truck through that, bad for americans, bad for jobs and bad for the economy and really dangerous if we have to put our soldiers, sailors and airmen in the way to protect something we could have deterred in the first instance. >> harris: talk to me about where speaker nancy pelosi is going now, these are not first time we've seen high-ranking officials among americans go there. i mean, dennis rodman went to the co kore abpen dlt /* korea peninsula.
8:08 am
>> mike: they are from the same party. you see republican congress or democratic congressman or the opposite party tension, these are co-conspirrators and they are failing to do things that keep us safe. for four years we were successful, we didn't get everything right, we deterred the bad guys, strike push back against iranians or work when president trump visited with chairman kim three times and at the dmz, where the speaker is today. it seems defensive and fearful, we're the most powerful nation in the world and ought to act like that and make clear there will be costs if they act in ways inconsistent protecting prosperity at home. >> harris: that is a gap we
8:09 am
don't have, with president trump, we knew what deterrence would look like, he talked tough and followed up with it, we don't know what is on the bill for this president, we just know beg to differ from admiral kirby, last thought and move to the next. >> mike: beg to differ is something xi jinping will hear and say i beg to differ, too, launch more missiles in and around taiwan. your point is right, we didn't defend everywhere, when we drew a line, we lived up to the commitment, reagan knew it, we executed with our idea of putting american people first in everything we did. >> harris: there are new concerns today, new questions about al qaeda presence in afghanistan, took out top terrorist, in an upscale kabul neighborhood not far from the presidential palace, we may recall in august last year,
8:10 am
president biden down played al qaeda presence after that debacle of a way and deadly way for our troops he pulled out of afghanistan. let's watch together. >> what interest do we have in afghanistan at this point with al qaeda gone? we went to afghanistan for the expressed purpose of getting rid of al qaeda in afghanistan as well as getting osama bin laden, and we did. >> harris: the taliban claims it unaware of the u.s. drone strike, approach one year since disastrous withdrawal from afghanistan. secretary, i'm wondering, it is believable, coattic mess we left behind, but they are not only terrorists on the ground, there are thousands of isis-k.
8:11 am
>> mike: i do want to take a moment it tell my former colleague that the intelligence agency is well done, effort to -- it does send another note, this was in kabul, upscale neighborhood, not by american standards, he was in the city, to do this strike outside of kabul will prove more difficult. talk about weakness of al qaeda, reminds me what president obama

penalize oil and gas producers in the united states, talking about raising taxes on them, putting regulation and one thing hit in this bill is methane reduction act and we allment lower meth 18, the way this is structured, it will put out of business a lot of shell oil producers in this country, small mom and pop shell oil producers which have really been the success story of this economy and reason we're able to raise production. >> harris: how does that affect gas prices? they have been coming down and maybe explains why experts are saying they could pop up again, is this why? >> exactly. this inflation reduction act, how does that work when every regulation will make your gas and heating bills go up? it doesn't mesh with inflation reduction act, it is inflation encouraging act is what it is.
