michael allen, good to see you. thank you so much. >> well, we will see you tonight, right? marco rubio, andy mccarthy. >> that's a big two hours. >> you are very energetic. thank you for joining parasol text. high martha! [laughter] >> hi, dana, sandra, good to see you. we start with this fox news alert. as you were just hearing, very likely that within the next few hours we will learn exactly what was in this warrant that allowed the feds to raid the former president of florida's estate, and new reports on what exactly made the fdic's receipt from that raid, also expected to be released.
8:01 am
it's "the faulker focus." i martha maccallum in for harris faulkner. yesterday, announcing that the doj set a motion to unseal the search warrant. that's the topline permission to go in. it's not a very thorough document, but there is good reasoning for going in and what they are looking for. release it. he could release it himself, but his attorney, they are so far saying they will go through this process with the courts. encouraging that he did not release the document, and you can really sit -- on his own, for the attorneys and everyone to coordinate this move. >> merrick garland, days long silence on this very large-scale raid. he revealed in that briefing yesterday at 3:00 that he personally approved a warrant but did not oversee the search.
8:02 am
i'm guessing that he did not know the timing. house republicans held a news conference this morning. >> i'm hearing it from both sides of the aisle, worried about the weaponization, politicization of the doj and fbi. >> the public trust will continue to be eroded for federal law enforcement until they are transparent at the highest levels of the fbi. >> he said that no one is above the law. that includes you. >> attorney general garland. >> telling fox that reports of fbi informant sparked the reason for them to have to go and when they did. adding "even if there was an informant, told the fbi that

these things are they are inside mar-a-lago, and the fbi could have been asked for as the president and his team have been cooperating with them for years, but the attorney general hinted that the doj had tried less extreme measures. reporting live for us in washington this morning. >> good morning. many republicans in the house intelligence committee -- the rank and file of the fbi justice department, but questioning their leadership and the method used for donald trump's mar-a-lago estate. here's michael turner. >> knowing that the president -- in the situation room, largely with policy issues, it would be highly unusual for them to have anything even in the oval office >> of course, that blockbuster washington post report that classified documents related to nuclear weapons that fbi agents are looking for when they searched trump's compound on
8:04 am
monday. merrick garland defended his decision to approve the search warrant on trump's home. >> where possible, its standard practice to seek less intrusive means, and to narrowly scope any search that's undertaken. >> other republican lawmakers talking about what they call passed fbi mistakes, calling it an assassination attempt of g.o.p. leadership, that congressional baseball practice in 2017. the fbi has still not shared key details of the investigation with them. >> thank you very much. sean duffy, former fox news contributor and former republican congressman joins us now. good morning, great to be with you. you see some of your former colleagues there, members of the house outraged at what i'm here.
8:05 am
so many questions. there's a lot -- we don't know a lot of the details around this, but coming in, what is your reaction? >> the fbi or doj, are they weaponize or is there an appearance of weaponization? i think it's fair to say yes to both of those. having these leaks coming up, classified documents in regards to nuclear weapons or our nuclear strategy. the problem is with that russia hoax, the fbi and doj leaked information. for four years -- i'm not big on confidential resources in washington. i don't believe them. donald trump says it's a hoax. when it's high level leaders, hillary clinton, barack obama, these guys -- documents that
8:06 am
they asked for. we probably could've asked for these and gotten them. for me, i don't think it's going to play well for the doj. >> that's -- "the wall street journal" this morning laid it out in a way that's right on, talking about merrick garland signing off on this. it's a little much to hear him lecture of the country -- after that russia collusion fraud -- leading request, and robert mueller -- there's plenty of reasons for them to take this attitude towards the bureau. >> the list is long. they have -- >> they have a lot of these questions based mike marks for the american people, and as you say, they have leaked things to the press that they took, only to find out that they weren't
8:07 am
true. of course, everybody is cautious. >> of course we won't believe what the fbi tells us. it's the fault of what we have witnessed over the last seven years. also being attacked. their credibility was being called into question. he basically said nothing about those protests. coming after the doj, he gets back up. >> a little bit goes a long way. if he defended those members of the supreme court -- it could influence the outcome in decisions. so much credibility with the

american people when you show them that you are willing to treat things equally. if you treat things equally, you will get so much respect from the american people. >> if you believe justice is blind, if anyone is attacked whether a republican or democrat, i stand up the justices of the court, but the doj we go up and protest outside their homes but don't say anything about the department of justice. do you ever think donald trump was packing boxes out of the white house to move them to mar-a-lago? do you think he knows what he had in those boxes? i don't think he did. i think it will be very challenging for the department of justice, but i don't think he knew what was in them, but donald trump -- so criminally, i
8:09 am
don't think there will be any thing. very difficult for the department of justice. unless he had something top-secret in his desk drawer at the mar-a-lago, but more than likely, it's going nowhere. >> they better have a lot, because otherwise they undercut their own credibility, and have probably helped the former president galvanize even more support. i want to ask you about this as well. another big day on the hill, and today, lawmakers will vote on the inflation reduction act, which many economists have thrown shade at for not being with the title represents. the part. comes without a congressional budget for my compact. democrats putting public safety

with guns and threatened to shoot and kill them for an irs violation. there's a lot of priorities at the american people have that are not irs. i think republicans, on the messaging friends, are doing so much better than democrats kratz keep talking about liberal priorities. most americans don't care about that. >> they care about inflation. it is by far the top issue with voters. holding on the issue, 71% of his -- and -- republicans will do a better job handling the inflation crisis. i would point out that -- would you vote for a republican or democrat in that fox news poll that came out last night, 41% -- the polls are tied right now. >> when i won my race for congress in 2010, the numbers
8:14 am
were democrat -- by two points, so those are on the ballot. >> generic questions. >> democrats used to outperform by 4-5 points. these numbers, when they are even, are still really good indicators -- the ballot works out. that can be misleading. i know kevin mccarthy -- going to win 20-40 seats up until november. >> labor day -- i expect everyone to pay attention. we will be paying close attention along with you. thank you. so, a picture of voter's mood in biden's america. we will show you more of these. last night, hot off the presses. 88 days from the midterms or democrat run cities getting a taste of what border states deal with every day, when they have

8:25 am
to bear the burden of illegal immigration. the number one source of people coming through here illegally is in america's airports. almost 600,000 folks overstay their visa every year. i think this should bring legislators from every state back to washington, d.c., whether they are democrats or republicans who pass immigration reform. that's what the community is asking for. not only do you see these big banks saying it, but you also see semiconductor factories. >> what about just enforcing the rules already on the books? it is illegal to enter the country. you need to be sent back to your country of origin. everyone has been touched by this weather they came through airports or not, but were sent back. we don't have to come up with a whole new plan. >> there are absolutely laws on

8:27 am
in these small border towns, places like texas, where you have something like 15,000 showing up in a single day in the town of 35,000 people. i don't understand why democrats aren't as welcoming of the migrants that they have been lecturing us about. >> richard, do you want to answer that before i move onto the next topic in? l >> sure. a couple of things. i don't think the mayors are saying they are not welcome to migrants. i think the opposite is happening that. i think what a lot of americans are saying is that we need some solutions, and that it should be from the mayors, and members of congress to pass the laws. >> good luck with that. >> it's back to the fact that we have a lot of laws, and securing the border of our country is one of the most important national issues. that's one of the president's
