nearly 200,000 apprehensions just last month. with just weeks to go in the fiscal year we are on a bull's-eye track to hit 2 million arrests of illegals and beyond for the first time ever. the numbers don't lie. neither does the video. fox cameras capturing this footage. it shows 20 people bailing out of a single vehicle during a human smuggling pursuit with texas troopers. new york struggling with the people bused in by the texas governor to make his point of what they go through every day. the cover of the "new york post," border to the broadway. the outlet with a report on taxpayers footing the bill to house all those people. mayor eric adams with the latest jab at governor abbott. >> the texas governor being disingenuous about what was the destination and what was happening. any adult or child.

traumatized. >> the texas official in charge of these migrant buses said the mayor is lying. texas says every bus is stocked with four days worth of food for 50 people. the trip takes normally three days. every migrant voluntarily boards each bus. they can get off at multiple stops along the way as well. it can all be stopped if president biden does more. >> governor abbott asked the president for an emergency disaster declaration. the president denied that. yet the federal government through fema has given over half a billion dollars to food and shelter programs that a far majority of that is going to the ngos across the southern border to move these immigrants farther into the united states. >> you mentioned those startling new border numbers. last month alone get this, border patrol arrested 10 people on the f.b.i.'s

8:05 am
dramatic increases in the number of illegal drugs crossing the border, the exploitation of humans who want to get across the border. it is a real humanitarian crisis and also a crisis of whether or not we are a country because we really don't have that southern border. >> harris: tell me what you make of this ongoing feud now between mayor adams of new york city and the governor of texas in different places where he is busing these illegals, giving america a taste of what's going on that has overwhelmed cities and states along the border with mexico. >> you have also seen it with bowser and now she is sounding the alarms while the buses are arriving in washington, d.c. this is a small taste of what happens when you have an uncontrolled border with millions of people crossing it who are illegally in the country or illegally staying in the country. i think it's a tactic to use to
8:06 am
help people become aware of all the problems caused by the federal government not maintaining a border. but it doesn't do nearly enough. it -- the federal government needs to do what it had done in the previous administration. start to get control of the southern border. >> harris: i want to talk about a picture up side-by-side with you now. the words that we have at the bottom of the screen don't completely reflect what's happening there because we don't have enough room. let me fill in the blanks again. that was the human smuggler car chase going on with texas law enforcement. people bailing out of that vehicle. this is not a simple case of people going to the checkpoints and trying to get into this country. and democrats want to paint it that way. that they are more heart-filled because they are willing to help the people coming here legitimately. first of all, we have to vet them. i don't care how much vetting

illegal immigration. but this is what people in small towns and smaller cities throughout the country have had to be dealing with, which are lots of constraints on public funds, lots of increases in crime or other issues that can be attendant with this type of mass movement. and this is what american people have been dealing with and have been begging their political leaders to address for decades. with very few exceptions in the previous administration it hasn't been done for decades. you don't have a country if you don't have a meaningful border and you don't have security. we have a lot of people who care a lot about other country's borders. they don't seem to care about our own border even not -- refusing to give money to make sure there is security. refusing to give money so we can properly police things but giving tons of money in other countries throughout the world for the precise same thing. >> harris: you are talking follow the money. i will follow the money to see if the blue city leaders get the kind of cash and federal

americans and have the federal government be at war with those americans. it is interesting that this so-called inflation reduction act. a poll showed only 15% believed it would reduce inflation. that makes sense. there is nothing in the bill that would reduce inflation. >> harris: real quickly, how does this play politically going in 84 days into the mid-term elections? people are fearful of this. it is tied to their bottom line. how does that play for the people on the left who think this is a good idea to hire all those agents? the amount of ammo they will have, 5 million rounds lock and load. >> it points to the difference between republicans and democrats. when democrats know they face heavy electoral losses they pass whatever legislation they can in the period of time that they do have power. republicans have historically not used their power in way

inflation reduction. it should have been named an inflation creation bill and really a climate bill. they lied to the american people. the only people will benefit are the donors with green energy boon doing else that will make us more dependent on china. >> harris: gasoline prices, experts are saying, they will go back up. inherent in the tax and spend bill is what i call it. no any kind of way with inflation, taxes on petroleum corporations. you don't think they'll pass that on? everything gets passed on. breakfast foods are up, eggs, beyond 30% in price. those sorts of basics are up. all that gets passed on. farmers are getting hit. they are going after businesses. what do you think a farm? >> exactly. you know who else is getting hit? retirees. we've been doing stories on how many people who retired and volunteering and contributing

to their communities who are quitting the volunteer jobs to get a job at wal-mart or the local diner because they can't afford to heat their homes this winter. they know what is coming with the prices of oil going up as you just said. it's a failure. >> harris: i don't know if you caught congressman waltz but even going back into afghanistan trying to help the americans and allies. military veterans are spending their savings on doing this. so we have the people doing their part. now they need to get the government to do their part and see us. they will when they pull out the 87,000 extra i.r.s. agents. they'll see everybody. >> that they will sic on us. not just domestically. in the last year we have had two very serious nuclear alerts. i was on air when russia had a nuclear alert. and then nancy pelosi goes to china and we're worried will we go to war with china because she is going over there?

i don't feel like the world is safer and i feel like all of us are poorer. some of us can afford. my kids aren't going to starve. they will have chicken. but listen, there are a lot of people out there who aren't. it is sad to see retirees and children suffer because of ideology because these bills, this climate fwhail they just passed trying to say is inflation is all about the ideology. >> harris: despite the media love and legislative wins some democrats are still worried. the democratic congressional campaign committee chair warns the party is losing the average joe. he told "the new york times" we have a likeability problem. i think most of the voters think we're out of touch and elitist. >> one of the most elite

moments we saw was them cheering after the inflation reduction act which was the green new deal. they cheered after knowing that that bill was going to make americans poorer. that's a shame. the people cheering, nancy pelosi with her refrigerator with expensive ice cream, aoc single, no kids, lives over a whole foods. you know families that can shop at whole foods? i don't know a lot of people that can shop at a store like that. all these people are out of touch and there will be a reckoning in the mid-terms but it won't alleviate the pain so much people are feeling. >> harris: expert art laffer and steve forbes have said where we are now will take some time. that's something that as you are describing people don't have. give you the last 15 seconds. >> the elitism of the left and willing to sacrifice children, elderly, retirees on the climate altar that will make us

more dependent on china is shameful. >> harris: wouldn't it be great to get some acknowledgement and update on the baby formula crisis? it is still one. we get into it on the "focus." too bad the white house. maybe they will make it on their media bliss. thank you for watching "the faulkner focus". "outnumbered" is next.
