smaller than our federal workforce. entire countries. in other words, the u.s. government is astoundingly large, truly gargantuan. what do all those people that work there every day do? many aren't sure, including employees themselves. fundamentally, the federal government is a mystery, and like the universe, it goes on forever. the good news is every once in a while, our government does something we can understand. that happened recently when joe biden -- $750 billion piece of legislation, the inflation reduction act. what does it do? are you slow? the answer is in the name. the inflation reduction act is an act that reduces inflation.

voters say it is the problem that they worry about most: inflation. that's how things work in washington. you identify a law and make something illegal. if it's also so hot, just have congress write a law banning high temperatures. congress has decided to bring that approach to inflation. you can imagine how terrifying it would be seeing it reduced by our all powerful. "wait, you passed a inflation reduction act? i surrender." it's the premise of this act anyway, but people are wondering how it's still going to work. pillory bond yesterday caught up

with senator joe manchin from west virginia, the single man whose vote made this possible. will it really reduce inflation, she asks? here is how joe manchin responded. >> comes to inflation, is it deflating to call this the inflation reduction act when it will not make everyday -- >> will immediately it's not because -- that switch on and off. >> it immediately won't make anything cheaper to buy. but, joe manchin didn't deny that he's bothered by it. the response was "why would it?" because you told us it would, and then you printed another $750 billion of fake money, which happens to cause historic inflation in the first place.

good idea or in the recession. our government is not willing to cut spending so the idea is to take money from you. print all the money you want to because you hold the reserve currency, and then when inflation goes up, you just try to pull it out through taxation. that's modern monetary theory, look it up. the congressional budget office, this costs the middle class $20 million -- $20 billion a year in tax revenue. 51% to taxpayers making 40-$50,000 will see a tax increase. 92% of americans -- and 97% between 100-$200,000 will also see a tax increase. if you're making $100 -- $100,000 in virginia, you are not rich. turns out that biden was lying, and that no one under $450,000 a
