7:05 pm
so our power comes entirely from our ability to convince the voters to support our ideas. in other words, no movement relies more on democracy and fights harder for it than we do. it was the votes of the people who nominated donald trump in 2016 and it was the voters who defeated liz cheney last night. well, we trust the people and everything we do is designed to give them more power. but to cheney and her cheering section, the voters, they are just useful idiots. >> the power of the republican party has is a really stupid people that vote in their primary spread really stupid people demand to have really stupid leaders. and that's where the republican party is now. >> laura: of course they also claim that the populist are threats to democracy, because they pointed out that there were election irregularities. then the january 6 have been. but only a small number of people out of the millions and millions who are taking legal

actions during that riot and we consistently maintain that those people should suffer appropriate legal consequences. and since when does the desire to safeguard the integrity of elections qualify as being antidemocratic. in fact, it is the contrary. you see, we respect to democracy enough that we want to make sure that elections are decided by clear and accurate vote tallies. our agenda powers the average american. we were the first ones to question our country's relationship with china and also to insist that it should not be so easy to just ship american jobs overseas. we were the only ones to insist that being an american citizen should have real meaning and real benefits. and therefore that the borders have to be enforced. we stand up to the teachers unions in the name of working-class parents. we stand up for small businesses, threatened by crime. this is and always has been a movement for the little guy, not

the borough cuts who artie had too much power. so if you care about democracy and he won the voters to have a real say and policy, you got to join our movement. right now according to real clear politics over 70% of americans believe that country is on the wrong track. but it does not have to be this way. because we have policies that work and that make lives better for the average person. we know this. they are working in places like florida and texas, tennessee, iowa, south dakota, many other states. the elites don't trust you and they certainly don't want to empower you. for them to democracy is where the voters do at the bureaucrats tell them to do. but for us, it's the other way around. and for almost 14 years, this movement has been growing. cheney is out. now let's keep going. in all 50 states, because then our movement, no state is left

behind, and that is "the angle" joining me now newt gingrich, former speaker of the house, author of "defeating big government socialism." this headline from the hill "liz cheney shakes up 2020 force forecast." does she really have the support of republicans to shake much of anything up? >> no, liz cheney is a fantasy being developed by the elite news media. but the truth is we saw in wyoming where people render judgment. you can't get 29% of the vote and turn around and she compared herself to abraham lincoln, who, by the way, got 53% of the vote for the senate, but because of the state legislator had the choice, but leaking that 53% vote, did not get 29. i think that liz has no future. she can run around the country. she has $7 million in the bank of political money. she can feel good in
7:09 pm
"the new york times" will love her, "the washington post" will love her. i'm sure that the abc cbs coming in no, nbc, cnn, msnbc, they will all love her, but the country won't love her. and she told us clearly last night how totally biased the january 6 committee is when she said she would do anything to stop donald trump. now how can you have a vice chair of a suppose that committee who says up front, i will do anything to stop him, now let's have a hearing. it just proved the hypocrisy of what she has been doing. >> laura: well, newt, she referenced the civil war last night and her kind of confession speech, then she went back on "the today show" this morning and kind of did a repeat of that. watched. >> i think the republican party today is in very bad shape and i think that we have a tremendous amount of work to do.
7:10 pm
i think that it could take several election cycles, but the country has got to have a republican party that is actually based on substance, based on principle. >> laura: and the republican party has never been in a better position to slaughter the democrats and the midterms i would say. >> first of all, we have a majority of governors, a majority of state legislatures. i think we are about to win a sweep in the house and senate. we have probably the most unique political figure in modern times. you know, donald trump has actually won the nomination fight more than anyone in american history. and of the ten people who voted to impeach him on the republican party, eight of them are gone. including liz cheney. so, i mean, no other political figure in american history has had the reach that he has. now, she is correct, what you are looking for is an old-fashioned pro-war

7:12 pm
government as an instrument of power to terrorize people want to walk off people, to intimidate people, i think that we are in a real crisis. and i think the debate over the next few years is going to be the most important debate since the civil war. the difference between liz cheney and the rest of us is, most of us believe that the american people ought to govern, not the bureaucrats. that the values of america should be reinforced, not the values of woke organizations. and we have things like the milwaukee teachers union that wants to fire white's first. that is absolute racism. i think that there is going to be a huge fight, and i think that they are going to lose. >> laura: yeah, they are afraid of the people. they don't want to people they have any say in the decision-making and they want to make all of the decisions themselves. so i guess that will be the battle royale. newt, i knew that you would be great tonight. but you were fantastic, thanks so much pride and tomorrow morning, trump lawyers and government lawyers are going to face off in court over the
7:13 pm
question of unsealing the fbi records on the raid on mar-a-lago, the one document that everyone wants to see is the all-important affidavit. that will answer many of our questions including why the doj is zeroing in on obstruction as a potential crime here, the three things they are looking at. that is one of them. trump himself has said he wants everything released now. it is the government that does not want you to know what is going on. jonathan turley, george washington university professor, fox news professor, good to see you tonight. what do you think will happen tomorrow, how might this play out? >> i think it is unlikely that the courts is going to unseal this document. as you know, courts tend to defer to prosecutors when they make these arguments. so what people need to understand is this identical argument is made in every case i have been involved in. when you're trying to get evidence from the government. they say virtually the same
7:14 pm
thing. i do a lot of national security and criminal work by the nature of those cases and this is a fairly common fight to try to get evidence from the government. affidavits are commonly released after someone is charged. you have to give them to the defense in most cases. they can be released and redacted, and it can be released before a charge, but courts tend to just go with the government on these things. but what is different is a number of elements here. one is that there is a history here of the department of justice in -- and trump investigations that is created public interest and public uncertainty as to the motivation behind a search. the search itself was grotesquely broad. it was almost without definition. it literally was a warrant that said take everything. even if you found one document with a classification marking of any kind, you could take the whole box and then take all of
7:15 pm
the boxes around that box. it just was sort of ridiculous. but then they did this raid right before a major election. and the timeline does not quite make sense to some of us. maybe it will make sense when we see the affidavit. but according to "wall street journal," the attorney general went weeks before he signed off on the application, when they got the warrant they waited a whole weekend before the executed it. and yet we have these leaks that are coming out almost regularly every two days, saying, we were looking for nuclear weapons information and we had no choice but to move quickly and then we just had another leak saying, well, there is this suspicious videotape outside the storage. so while the department of justice is saying we need absolute secrecy, it is leaking according to the media sources, it is leaking this information and framing and maintaining all of the case is being.
7:16 pm
speak to that question by the way about the surveillance video that they subpoenaed from inside mar-a-lago was trained on the storage area that was supposed to be locked up. so again, the leaks about, there is some suppose it -- we would imagine because of the leaks something untoward on one of those videos, which as we know from her history with other cases would go to their case for some type of obstruction, yes? yes or no really quick? >> right. that could be based on the number of things, the changing of documents, false statements as to what is contained in the boxes, and exceptionally broad statutes, and more importantly it moves them away from this issue of declassification with authority and classification status and previous discussions where they can say someone lied to us or change the document or misled us. >> laura: all right, professor, a lot to unpack here, thank you very much.

is this a satanic ritual? what did you uncover? >> it is not a satanic ritual, has been going on for hundreds of years in countries around the world, and enough that the fbi has shown two investigations into this. it is a real thing, it is clearly not the u.s. government, in these animals are being killed in ways that people who slaughter animals for a living and butcher them could not replicate, and then the carcasses are not touched by predators. the whole thing is unbelievably weird. again, not speculating as to the cause of this, only confirming it is absolutely real, not some wild conspiracy theory and has been documented over many, many decades and no one has yet explained it. and i feel like the purpose of journalism is to bring to public attention things that are significant and undercover. and this checks both of those boxes. >> laura: some of the people

who have also studied this are pointing to an extraterrestrial involvement perhaps or at least asking the question, is that out of the realm of possibility here? >> it is a pretty obvious conclusion actually. i mean, it is hard to see what else the explanation would be. the more you know about the subject, the more that you think, well, wait a second, why isn't everybody talking about this? this is happening right now. this summer and every summer and again, not just in the united states, but around the world, animals in remote places slaughtered and drained of their blood and injected with some type of anticoagulant and body parts deep within their bodies were moved in a way that can't be replicated by surgeons or butchers, like what? i can't speculate as to why it is happening or who is doing it, but we know that it is happening and it is -- it's kind of shocking as far as i'm concerned. >> laura: tucker, this is wild.
