tv The Ingraham Angle FOX News August 20, 2022 12:00am-1:00am PDT
12:00 am
evening. as always, we thank you for being with us. thank you for making this possible. please set your dvr so you never, ever miss an episode of hannity. in the meantime, let not your heart be troubled because the ingraham angle with jason chaffetz in florida tonight is next. i hope you have a great weekend . i'm jason chaffetz in for laura ingraham and this is a special edition of the "ingraham angle". senator hatch wants you to think they're the party of democracy, the party of tolerance, the party of one order, the party of the people. but they're actually the party of pretend. and tonight we'll expose all of it. let's start with the party of the people. democrats think you're stupid. i'm not saying this to try to be flippant. this is truly what they believe
12:01 am
and they flat out said it this week. the problem the republican party has is they got really stupid people and vote in their primaries really stupid people demand to have really stupid leaders that way. the republican party is now the problem is the voters. they are the people who deliver donald trump to the electoral college victory really the party that has the house, the senate and the presidency thinks the voters are the problem. maybe it's the democratic policies that have led to devastating losses and hardship across the country, whether it be overdoses from drugs flooding through our border or the rampant crime in major cities or the inflation you experience every day, they are doing nothing to solve any of it. we'll get to more of that in a moment. but for the left to blame americans for putting donald trump in office is asinine.
12:02 am
they should be thanking the voters who did that because we got to see what policies actually work and improve our standard of living. the fact is democrats don't like you and they certainly don't respect you, especially if you voted for trump. which brings me to the party of defending democracy. we're defending the institutions of democracy. we have lived in a democracy for more than 200 years, does not mean we shall do so tomorrow. >> freedom, liberty and democracy are on the ballot this fall. now, the democracy that they're talking about isn't the kind that you and i value. they say that they believe in the constitution, but they don't believe in the second amendment. they have a lot of trouble with the first one and the tenth amendment. you know, the one about limited government and giving powers to the states. there's no way they believe that one . and they don't think anyone who believes in america first
12:03 am
agenda should have representation. what the left peddles is counterfeit democracy. and then they trash the one group of people who are actively fighting to protect your rights. conservatism in this country has always been against democracy. the conservative party, the republican party, and then therefore they become the threat to democracy. i don't really care if people are squeamish about it. i don't care. they think that it's hyperbolic to say that i don't hear people say, well, guess what? so what do you say half the country is problematic? well, they are. joining me now is utah congressman burgess owens and florida congresswoman cathy kamik. thank you so much for joining us tonight. i really, really do believe i really do appreciate congressman owens. let me let me go to you first. how do you react to that? because i got to tell you, i get a lot of preaching from a party that's supposed to be , you know, the one of the people
12:04 am
and for democracy, the the people who say they're the most tolerant seem to be the least tolerant, any sort of divergent thought. >> well, what a great story. so let me just say this. i just think about what you feel in this. these people, the democratic party, unfortunately, consists of good democrats who have found themselves still in the party, which kind of leaving decades ago is about divisions, about hatred, but anger. they do everything they can to make people's lives miserable, miserable so they can gain a power. and that's what you see in the black community. the inner city communities throughout our country. what you see there is what they project for the rest of our country, misery was as a political strategy to to win the power. so we're waking up and i think i scared him to death because we're now realizing that i'm seeing across the country blacks, hispanics, across the board. it didn't matter what our race and background is . we're realizing that we don't
12:05 am
want to be demeaned and depressed. we hope that's what is all about. we're going back to the party is going to get back to the rest of the country. congresswoman, the democratic party of today has really become one of the vision. it's just like congressman, i want the say they continually divide and demean and degrade people and think they're stupid . i mean, they flat out said there's james carville saying that republicans are just republican voters are stupid. well, that's exactly, anderson. and you know, it's always good to see you and my good friend burgess. you know, think about this. the gop is not the grand old party. we are the great opportunity party. we stand for freedom for for everyone regardless of your background, regardless of where you come from. and that is the opportunities that the gop is fighting to protect and uphold. but when you look at our colleagues to the left, it's do as i say, not do as i do. everything they say is for quote unquote democracy
12:06 am
and freedom. yet every policy that they have championed and passed out of the house this past year and a half has been anything but. they voted to defund police and make our communities less safe . they have voted to take away our second amendment rights again while simultaneously defunding police. they have an open border policy . they think that there's no problem with fentanyl that's become the number one killer of people between the ages of 18 and 45 . and as the youngest republican woman in congress today, i am supposed to be what they would deem a victim. they want to victimize my generation, but now we have people like me, someone who's the daughter of a single mother ,someone who has gone from homeless to the house of representatives and under a decade not because of democratic policies, but because i am championing the freedom that the gop has upheld. that is what we need to be fighting for. and by the way, to all our colleagues on the left, we do not have a democracy. we have a constitutional republic.
12:07 am
so let's act like it is just yeah, it's good point. they always tend to forget that. yeah. that's actually how it works. they go on , they preach a good game and they try to demonize those who believe, for instance, the 10th amendment, which gives states the rights. congressman. oh, do they they don't actually really believe in that tenth amendment. they want to centralize as much power in washington, d.c. right now. the left does not believe the constitution is going to continue to try to tear down. it was just given to the american people something i don't think many of us realize that happened. we had a miracle the last turn around, even though we lost the senate, the house, the presidency, we flipped at the country to 15 seats in the netherlands when incumbent you see people like myself and candidate new congress, people that represent new congress that is all about america. first, we without change who we govern. we're not a single party. we talk about how we can be inclusive to each other. this is the new republican party and we have an opportunity this go round to
12:08 am
add onto that. i'm excited for our country and i'm excited about the fact our country is waking up to the light of the left in order to do can look back on the history and the damage done to the black community that i grew up in. and we don't want any parts of that. so just continue to realize there is good news. there's bad and the democratic party is nothing but bad for a country as wants to be around. yeah, i remember a vice president pence would often say congresswoman. he would also often say, look, i'm a conservative. i'm not angry about it. i'm a happy person. and but you know what? the left doesn't seem to believe in self determination and they seem to be awfully mad at anybody who thinks anything different than they do. >> well, and that's exactly it. jason , when i talk about how i was supposed to be one of their targets, i'm a target demographic. i'm a college educated woman and they want to basically own certain demographics in this country. if you're a minority, you supposedly have to vote democrat.
12:09 am
if you're college educated woman, you have to vote democrat. if you're a genze or millennial ,they want you and demand that you vote democrat because they're all about checking boxes. they're all about quote unquote diversity except for when it comes to diversity of thought. they want to be the thought police and groupthink and it's dangerous and we are seeing the results of that kind of action in washington. take no look further than your local gas pump or your grocery store. their economic policies have failed. their national security policies have failed. that is why november is going to be a resounding win for republicans. it's because we are about faith, family, freedom. it's because we are about that opportunity and we're going to secure the border. we're going to lower gas prices. we're going to get our communities safe again and we're going to put america first and we're not going to continue to perpetuate the stereotype that everyone is a victim. we are about empowering. we are about giving the opportunity to every individual regardless where they come from. and so i think that we speak with actions while the left
12:10 am
speaks with words. and i think the american people are smart enough to figure out what's up. at the end of the day, i've never seen a party prevail for a long term when they just demonize and call the voters stupid. i don't think that's a great strategy. that's where the democrats today are. congressman on congresswoman cammack, i wish i had more time, but i've got to go . so thank you. all right. and now to the party of law and order. there can be no greater responsibility to do all we can to ensure the safety of our families, our children and our fellow americans. hey, i totally agree with the president on that one . so why is it that our fellow americans aren't safe ? i want to show you some videos of what's going on across the country. and it's not joe biden riding a bike down a beach in new york city. a registered sex offender was arrested after sucker punching a man on the street last week. the victim suffered a broken skull, a brain bleed and a
12:11 am
broken cheekbone. but the suspect suspects attempted murder charge was downgraded. and yesterday he was allowed to walk free . he has since been rearrested for violating probation. and in los angeles, with total chaos when a flash mob busted into a 7-eleven and completely ransacked the place. look at that. and in san francisco, an elderly woman was brutally beaten after four suspects followed her into her apartment building. an 18 year old man was arrested along with an 11 year old 13 and 14 year old. the 11 year old won't be facing charges due to his age. the criminals are winning and the liberal days and leaders of these cities, they're not doing it needs to be done to stop it.
12:12 am
joining me now is harmeet dillon , chairwoman, republican national lawyers association and brad tolman, former u.s. attorney and executive director of right on crime. thank you so much for joining us , harmeet. the 11 year old 13 year olds in that last attack, they were actually picked up on accusations of another crime. i mean, what is going on in america? well, what's going on is that we have one by one eliminated all the incentives for criminals to comply with our laws and this is particularly true. it started on the west coast, but it's happening all over the country. you combine the dumbing down of our criminal laws with rogue prosecutors funded for many years by george soros and other liberal donors. and you have the perfect recipe for the citizens, the law abiding citizens being viewed as simply marks and sitting ducks for gangs of criminals. and i'm not exaggerating. in san francisco, you see this type of thing happening every
12:13 am
day and it is young offenders under the age of 18 or 15 , sometimes wielding weapons and holding up tourists on a daily basis. throughout the city. so if you don't want your city to become like our west coast cities, it's time for americans to wake up and start electing better prosecutors throughout throughout the country. yeah, well, you got to pay attention now, brad , you were a former federal prosecutor ucits attorney. i want to move on to something that donald trump posted today on truth social. he wrote in part, quote, a major motion pertaining to the fourth amendment will soon be filed concerning the illegal break into my home mar a lago right before the ever important midterm election. president trump's attorney just told fox moments ago that the motion is coming very soon, possibly within hours. what's your initial reaction? i know you haven't seen yet, but what are your thoughts on it? well, jason , the fourth amendment protects against unlawful search and seizure and the reality is this search
12:14 am
warrant does have some issues. my guess is that the president and his legal team is going to file a motion that argues that subsection c in the search warrant is overbroad. i mean, in essence, jason , think about if you have a search warrant that indicates you can search for any document. is there any place in that in that residence that they can't look? the answer is no. they can look anywhere if it can contain a document. that's what we're dealing with is a search warrant that may have been overbroad. and the fourth amendment says you cannot have a general warrant. it has to be very specific and it has to outline where they're supposed to search and it's supposed to be narrow to what they're supposed to seize. >> and you have to have a separate search warrant. don't you, bred to go and bust into a safe? yeah, the safe is really interesting. i mean, we have the passport. we know how broad it was and they seem to have just gathered evidence. but the reality is that say
12:15 am
they went into and when i was in law school, you have to have separate probable cause to go into the safe. interesting. harmeet, his attorney also told fox we are way behind in terms of the government playing fair and giving us the details of what we're entitled to and i also find it highly, highly suspicious that this is coming some 18 months after president trump actually left office. well, absolutely. this thing is rancid from top to bottom . and , you know, i think a lot of motions need to be filed and i think they've been discussed on this show before. but the baseline i mean, bret would know better. but the general premise, the department of justice, is that you don't bring politicized prosecute before an election. you don't bring them against your political opponents. and you do your best to take down the temperature. and they've done the exact opposite here. and that has been the pattern of this doj for many years, whether it's a republican or it's a democrat, it's become
12:16 am
incredibly politicized, particularly when you're going after a high profile target who's out of favor with the government. so what i think americans should take away from this is if the former president of the united states can be subject to an extremely broad and i believe definitely unconstitutional warrant and search and seizure that could happen to any of us and and indeed we are seeing it happen to other americans who happen to be unpopular with our government. yeah, that's happening. ninety two days before the midterms elections is highly, highly suspicious. harmeet , thank you so much for joining us on the anger wrangell do appreciate it. all right. democrats have been celebrating the signing of the inflationary action act, but despite its name, everyone knows the bill will do anything. >> but even joe manchin admits it would be moving to production tax for american people and not going to make everything better. why would it?
12:17 am
why would it? well, know it's not bad. we never saw anything happen immediately like turn the switch on and off. so what exactly is in the inflation reducing but not really act? the republican study committee went through it line by line and found fifty two radical policies hidden within it. for instance, there's twenty seven billion dollars for a greenhouse gas reduction fund to pay for deploying green energy equipment in environmental justice communities, whatever that is . eighty seven dollars million to launch a campaign to educate communities on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and of course, 20 billion dollars. the department of agriculture for green new deal priorities. joining me now is congressman jim banks, chairman of the republican study committee, who's calling attention to all this. congressman, you've been a real champion in kind of highlighting this and the exorbitant fees. i mean, it's just unbelievable. it's just line after line of
12:18 am
this. give us some more examples of some of the overspending that's in this bill . yeah, jason , when you were in congress, they had the affordable care act, which we all know led to less access and more expensive health care . now we have the inflation reduction act. they call it what it really is , which is the green new deal . this really is the the radical climate change agenda of the democrat party. they would get laughed out the room. so what do they do? they gave it a fake name. the inflation reduction act. there are tons of subsidies for wealthy people who buy solar panels. of course, you've all heard about the eighty seven thousand new irs agents that are being funded in this bill , which, by the way, are being tasked with going out and finding over one hundred billion dollars in revenue from working class americans. so eighty seven thousand irs agents, notre dame's football stadium hold all of those new irs agents. so the more you dig into this bill , the more you realize
12:19 am
how much the democrat party is lying to you. and i believe the american people have caught on to this in november will be a testament to that. but the more the more layers you peel back on this bill , you realize that it does the exact opposite of what they tell you is going to do well. well, let's listen to speaker nancy pelosi described within the bill in that they only had 60 billion for diversity. as we meet the challenge of the climate crisis, it's about inclusion. it's about investing in our children. our future education in research. it's about doing so in a way that is respectful of a great diversity of views. i didn't hear a word about inflation, but now the other clean after they passed the bill after after after president bindert biden signed it into law. nancy pelosi is telling you actually she's telling you the truth in this case. it doesn't have anything to do with inflation, jason . there are massive tax increases on working class americans in this bill .
12:20 am
there are actually tax increases on manufacturing businesses. i represent the district in america that has the most manufacturing jobs per capita and under president trump we return manufacture good paying manufacturing jobs back to america more than ever before. so now we're getting that with the democrats in charge. we're tax those jobs out of existence. this bill is dange. it's radical and it's going to hurt working class americans and people are waking up to it and there's going to be to pay on election day. okay. real quickly here, i want to i want to mention the leftists at axios. they're now arguing that climate change is the culprit that is causing inflation. extreme weather worsened by climate change is the hidden cause of inflation. heavy rainfall, flooding, heat waves and droughts wrote agriculture, infrastructure and workers abilities to stay on the job, all of which lead to supply chain breakdowns and worker shortages. i thought it was putin who was
12:21 am
behind this these price increases, but evidently now it's climate change and that's why this is going to reduce inflation somehow it's insanity again. >> it's that it's the policies of the democrat party no matter what they call it. it's their policies. there's their massive spending agenda, the radical climate change green new deal agenda that's caused inflation. the american people have caught on to it. they don't need to be educated . they get it. and i really do believe election day is going to prove it. yeah, i think the one point five billion dollars for planting trees in urban areas, i just this country cannot keep doing that sort of garbage. you just really can't. congressman, thank you so much for joining us tonight. all right. we're seeing record number of illegals crossing the border. so why are some of our ice detention facilities nearly empty? tom home and a branded jodhaa

12:27 am
oh, is it? that doesn't square with our reporting sources telling fox news that we just hit a new record on migrant encounters. fox news national correspondent matt chynn is in our west coast newsroom with all the details matt . hey, jason . customs and border patrol sources tell fox news there's been a record two million plus migrant encounters at the border so far this fiscal year. for comparison, last fiscal year is a record high at about eight hundred thousand less, with a total of one point seven million encounters. the federal government also announced there were one hundred ninety nine thousand migrant encounters in the month of july. for comparison, at the end of 2020 migrant encounters were around seventy two thousand per month. they have now skyrocketed to nearly two hundred thousand last month. the biden administration claims the numbers of encounters is inflated under title forty two expulsions where migrants are quickly expelled under a covid-19 order allowing them to potential to cross
12:28 am
again states like texas and arizona. as we have and reporting, are now moving migrants to other states and cities like washington, d.c. and new york as a form of protest to the federal government. and new pictures show three suspected illegal migrants wearing ghillie suits to blend into the desert. border patrol agents in the el paso sector arrested the three migrants in southern new mexico. kilis type of camouflage material used to blend into various natural environments. the el paso u.s. border patrol sector chief tweeting smuggler tactics. people that enter illegally into the usa will often extraordinary tactics to evade detection and arrest. kudos to el paso sector santa teresa agents for interdicting migrants wearing gilli suits to blend into the southern new mexico desert terrain. fox news has reached out to border patrol for more information on those pictures. we'll keep you updated. jason mathangi, thank you. so if anything, we just heard why are some ice detention
12:29 am
facilities almost empty? i want to show you some numbers in marysville, california, the yuba county jail has the maximum capacity of four hundred and twenty eight . as of today, it's holding to the end. lato ice processing center has a maximum capacity of one thousand and forty and it currently has forty seven over in texas, the montgomery ice processing center has a maximum capacity of a thousand and today has three hundred and sixty two. if it wasn't clear before, this is a clear indicator and a key indicator that the biden administration isn't enforcing law. they are trying to find them, they are trying to detain them and they aren't even trying to deport them. i mean, come on , even barack obama did that. remember, the democrats were calling him the deporter in chief. joining me now is tom hohmann, fox news contributor and former acting ice director . also with me is brandon judd, president of the national border patrol council. listen, every time i talk,
12:30 am
gentleman, the numbers are absolutely stunning, brand. and let's start with you. immigration you guys are finding the men and women who do that job. they do an amazing job, but not much happens other than getting released. right. it's difficult to do the job when you have a secretary that's lying to the american public. when you have a secretary that's telling us that the borders are closed and then they also deflect and say the title 42 is the cause for these inflated numbers. that's not true either. we've released a hundred and thirty five thousand people. that means that we did, in fact encounter nearly 200000 different people. so, you know, you just look at this and they continue to invite people that rhetoric, that political rhetoric that try to deflect all that's doing is allowing the cartels to go throughout the world. advertisers service and continue to encourage people to cross our borders illegally. they are creating the magnet this administration, president biden is creating a magnet and we're seeing the fallout
12:31 am
from that magnet. they continue to come and they're going to continue to come because he's not going to do anything. >> tom . look, you've dedicated your life and career to helping to protect the border. and i got to tell you, it is absolutely one of the most devastating things that's happening. the secretary of homeland security says they have operational control of the border, but i don't think so. they have operational control. the border operation controlled border is held by the mexican cartels. the border patrol is doing the best they can, but they're overwhelmed in some sectors. 70% border agents are taken off the line so the cartels control the border and it's those that again, i agree with . he lives every day and every citizen i was a border patrol agent for i caught the same illegal alien three times one year recidivist around forever. so tempting target for two. but let's get to the you two reasons, jason , why they're not why they're not using the ice fence. number one , because second
12:32 am
tier has the same data points. i do immigration that last decade says nine out of ten central americans claim asylum at the border never get relief from u.s. courts. nine out of ten . what happens that nine out of ten to get order removed. the homeland security life-cycle, which is the secretary's report, says if you're a family unit, you only have six percent of the time. if you uac, you need three percent of the time every single don't you need 18% of the time. that's why they're not used in detention. they don't want to leave and they know if they're not detained to chance of ever being truly deported are slimline. and the same report says if you're detained and you get a fine order, you remove 99% of the time. that's why they're not using the wow that that stunning branom. i want to get to this video of border agents unlocking a gate to let illegals in. but you say there's more to the story than what everybody is seeing. what's going on here and this video? yeah, there's a lot more to that when you look at that, that gate is actually inside
12:33 am
the united states , those individuals that were there. and this clearly shows how far we've fallen under the bush administration when border patrol agents actually have to go take these people in the country because they violated the law, they had to open that gate. they had to take those people into custody and they had to take them back to process because they violated the law. this clearly shows how this administration is president trump gave us everything that we needed. he gave the infrastructure walls and then he also gave us policies that stopped these people from congregating behind the wall. this administration did away with everything that president trump did. and that's why we're seeing all of this. those agents did exactly what they have to do under the law. and so when you hear this rhetoric that that the border patrol is allowing people in, that's just not true. we have to take them into custody because violated the law and we then have to take them into custody and process them. i'm still stunned that we can't deport people that are coming here illegally. i mean, it just seems so basic
12:34 am
and so simple, but it's not tom brennan's right. president trump did more than any president i worked for. i worked for six presidents. ronald reagan to secure the border and we need to secure the border. the highest level ever had is save lives less when we're being sexually assaulted. less migration's over. twelve hundred miners have died and joe biden's watch a record by far no one's talking about it. over 100,000 americans in fatna one hundred thousand americans die in vietnam. that's coming across the border. i'll make your promise. if the right guy comes back in 2020 four, i'll come back . i'll come back for free and we'll secure the border in 30 days. we simply dust off the trump policies that were effective and secured our border at the level we've never seen before. i don't mind you coming back , but i don't recommend doing it for free . but that's we'll have that discussion later. tom , in branded, thanks so much for joining us on the inaugural mango. have we gone overboard on mental health these days and are your college kids ready

and in it he basically equated with gender identity. so statutes title nine that was put there to protect girls from bias in hiring in the workplace, in education. they've applied that now to anyone to identify as female or as male. if you're female, biologically . so, you know, we're talking about coed accommodations in college. how about no accommodations? because the focus is clearly not on education. dorms were created to give the students safety and a place where they could be studied and be educated in a safe environment. that's out the window when you start allowing biological males into a female dormitory at a christian school. the other layer here is all the religious exemptions have been removed, blown out by joe biden and that also needs some careful scrutiny, no
