candidate is focusing on the economy and controlling inflation. the democrat and the race, pat ryan says he will preserve abortion rights. so right now i want to look at a new fox news of pole on the most important issue to voters. 41% we pop it on the screen, 41% said inflation is most important while 14% set abortion with border security, climate change and guns all at 7%. so given all of this who stands to win in this very tight hudson valley race? >> it is really tight. statistically basically a tire right now the two and it is reflected of a district that is gonna both ways. it has been democrat, it's been democrat, republican, and it is something a little bit of a bellwether for the democrats and the republicans in the midterms but not really there a lot of districts not nearly as split as this.

congressional district or more broadly across the country because there are a lot of other influence on the election. inflation looks to be starting to come down or at least going sideways for the moment. expectations are that it might drift downward in the next couple of months. you have seen economic slowdown in various sectors that inflict infect inflation for their other issues such as the by demonstration success on the legislative bills have gotten through. that also might energize democrats to come to the polls. and in this particular instance, abortion rights might trump inflation in terms of energizing that base. this may be a topic that people feel much more emotionally engaged with that inflation. and therefore they come in vote. and that is both what republicans and democrats out to be worried right now is getting their base out to the polls. arthel: so do you think the special election could cause either party to pivot or

messaging between now and november 8? >> i do not think so. i think right now biden's approval rating below 40%, right at 40% that is pretty bad for the democrats. and the republicans have been hammering him on inflation. it depends but the economy does between now and the midterms. you might see a better argument the democrats are able to put forward because it does begin to weigh. i don't think you see a change in the discussion of the issues parade this is something of a bellwether congressional district. but mind you there's a lot of gerrymandering in the districts up until now. you are hard-pressed to find a district in the country as evenly split as we are seeing in the 19th and new york. i'm not sure it's a perfect
