and on other shows across the network. if you paid off your debt a year ago, why is it that when the family saved and made sacr sacrifices, it's unfair to that family even by several years a ago? i think democrats will have to explain that a bit. this -- for providing help. teachers, family doctors, nurses, truck drivers, engi engineers. we can go down the list. jesse made the point yesterday about -- criticized for talking about our history. that being said, we will still show off these kinds of dollars. to your point yesterday, financially negotiated in that inflation reduction, so concerns me is that the white house argues you give these kids an opportunity, and millions of americans are affected by this,

and -- many have their debt forgiven all together. businesses can invest more in communities, buy a home, invest in your children's education. finally, the inflation piece -- others have all talked about this. some people need to take the sanctimony out of this. i have heard republican friends in congress be really critical of this. i would remind all of us that when we passed the ppp loans, members of congress had forgivable loans under the law, and that was $2 trillion, and now saying that flexion wasn't caulked -- that inflation was caused by some of this. >> don't you think it's different? one is elective, and the other is a pandemic that, thanks to china, destroyed the country. >> i'm talking about the inflation. i think the sanctimony needs to be removed.

straight orders the justice department to release the affidavit on mar-a-lago. some of it is redacted, but we know that it laid out the doj's evidence to raid or search president trump's home. president biden finally speaking out. >> mr. president, how much knowledge of their plan did you have for them to search mar-a-lago? >> president biden: zero, not one single bit. >> you have been in the white house, gotten a lot of tough questions. if president bush came off that stage after giving a definitive answer like that, what would you have asked him? i don't know what evidence we have for not believing him. >> not sure -- but the biden white house knew about the documents in mar-a-lago, because the president asking for

first. the public -- there need to know, juxtaposed against law enforcement not having their witnesses or information, or the trajectory of the investigation being released. i must say, i am impressed that they are saying "i am going to reject it. the government offered you a chance, you redact everything you think is rejectable, and i will -- apparently -- release it before tomorrow at noon time." here's my question: if reinhart, the person who signed the affidavit, if he says to the doj "i don't think you should have redacted this or that," because he knows more about this than anyone other than the department of justice. can reinhart say this on his o own? i think more of this can be released. can reinhart say to trump "you have the right to appeal this." there's a lot we don't know, but

we know that trump will see it from the public season. when you have these competing interests, we always have something here where the judge who showed some implication of making it a little more public has, i think, the right to say "doj, you are covering up too much." i am giving him some benefit of the doubt, some. >> the fact is, such a quick turnaround shows me that the reductions were probably reasonable. the 24 hours later that we were about to get it, he said "can you be serious about this class was customer it shows me that they wanted to get it over with, to a degree, and trump is happy, because he seems to be gaining on this, whether or not -- and other things related to their strengths. one other thing, they did a poll, and said look at the fbi. do you trust them or not trust them? 46% say they trust, 46% say they don't.

19 against the republicans. here is the key: independents, 43% say they trust the fbi, 47% say don't trust and corrupt. that's thanks to -- not to the 30,000 out there grinding it out. the bureau wasn't even informed of this raid, so they are saying "don't blame me for this." they said it's okay to be used by the doj to do this raid when they were trying to be political. he should have pushed back and said "are you kidding me? republicans already don't trust me." >> the affidavit will be in charlie crist's face. you won't be able to see it. [laughter] he has plausible deniability, a paper trail leading back. they have this letter from the archivist. joe biden's white house lawyers looked to him in the spring, and he said "do whatever you want," they revoked the privilege. joe had to know that they were beefing over boxes. they had to know the fbi was involved and they had a national security angle. they had to know what they were looking for. he knows more than he's letting on. "the wall street journal" had an op-ed that came out. two highly respected -- from bush and the reagan administration. they say there is no legal basis for this raid, slam-dunk, the president is on firm, legal ground. that tells me that the republican legal establishment is on trump's side on this. that's significant, because he doesn't always have their back on that.

coming in from old-fashioned vehicles, not everybody can afford those electric vehicles. that's one of the reasons i'm so pleased with the inflation reduction act, that makes them cheaper for americans -- joe biden, i hope he picks me -- watching a new york, all queued up. dana, we are not ready, we don't have the chips, the cars, the affordability. we have the supplementals. do you think governor gavin newsom is trying to lead a charge towards the presidency using this as symbolism? >> i think so. this is something boris johnson pushed through in the u.k. as well. you are seeing this force-feeding, rather than the market trying to decide. they are not cheaper. on the same day that biden signed the inflation reduction act, the carmakers increased the cost of an electric vehicle by that same amount.

they are not getting less expensive. over time, yes -- but in the meantime, there will be environmental disasters trying to figure out the intervals needed. i'm not against electric vehicles. i am for a all of the above strategy. if california thinks this will help them in the future, do something on climate change, i wish they would think about the fact that that is a global issue, and china is not doing that, india is not doing that. the car companies know that this is such a big market, so that's why they are changing all of their factories over, laying off guys who have traditionally worked on old-fashioned cars. >> 8,000 -- laid off as they do this transition. jesse, what about hybrid? south korea and japan doing hybrids. that seems to be a logical thing. >> what california is illogical. >> they say they are leaders.
