un- crude capsule tomorrow morning that will stay in space for about a month or so. going further than any spacecraft design for humans is ever gone. there were some safety concerns though yesterday went lightning strikes as you can see hit the launchpad area. officials say now, all systems are go. coxey bottom line is we look really good. there are no concerns, no constraints from the lightning events at this point. but we are trying to be very proactive looking ahead and evaluating those things and adjusting as required. knowing we'll get some weather as we head to the last few days. before the excitement is on and jonathan serrie at the space center with the very latest. >> hey there eric, behind me see the rocket on launchpad at 39 to be getting ready for what they will be lift off tomorrow morning. the artemis one mission has a two hour launch window opens at 8:30 3:00 a.m. eastern time. at the start of that window is

only 20% chance of whether it will cause any sort of delay. that increases to 40% as we get 10:30 3:00 a.m. the close of the window. as many as 200,000 spectators are expected to show up in the area to watch monday's launch. >> i think it's a lot of people my age and older that remember the apollo and want to come back and bring their family and their kids they walked on the moon when i was a kid. i just want to see it. positive move. >> the purpose of this un- manned flight is to stress test the new space launch system or sls rocket and the orion spacecraft beyond what you would do if astronauts were actually on board. we've been to that movement before but those visits were brief. artemis submissions will be longer and carrying a more astronauts and equipment. marchant is the primary contract building the spacecraft.

yesterday as migrants have been consistently crossing the rio grande river behind us here into the united states. we seen 100 plus each day. we also want to give you some updates from law enforcement on the border here in texas. the republican governor of texas greg abbott has been shipping migrants by bus to sanctuary cities like new york city and washington d.c. to relieve his states border towns remain overwhelmed by hundreds of thousands of migrants. we have talked to migrants. they tell us are coming from states like cuba or countries like cuba, venezuela columbia nicaragua heading to states like pennsylvania, florida, virginia and of course texas. the texas lieutenant governor is calling on the biden administration to help solve this crisis. >> that either don't understand or they don't care, take a choice mr. president you either don't care people are dying of fentanyl overdoses in america by a large number, you don't care people are suffocating in the back of 18 wheelers, you don't care children are being consented and trafficking.

>> here in texas u.s. border patrol agents that they foiled a dangerous smuggling attempts. three illegal migrants crammed into the back of a trunk. something we see so often put a hand gun was recovered in that situation as well. those three migrants and the driver were taken into custody. we have that many right along with law enforcement here bc migrants crammed into what are being called loaded cars. in the del rio sector another load car troopers attendant to stop the car for routine traffic stop, the driver refused to stop eventually hitting a pole and crashing through a fence in the front yard. three migrants were apprehended and that driver arrested for human smuggling. right now, my phones as the temperature here is 95 degrees. the real feel is 106 degrees. obviously it's august here in texas with heavy humidity. the border patrol agents all around us right now. they have to do this work, they have to do the processing and very extreme heat, arthel.

the southwest side of a diaper the tragedy unfolding at this rental home building around 1:0. officials say the first 911 call alerted them to a person down. then a fire inside of that building. but then there was a gunfire in the parking lot of that building great houston fire department arrived first to battle the flames but the suspect started shooting. >> as they prepared to fight the fire from the suspect began to fire. adam of his firing in their direction but they had to take cover. >> and the fire officials took cover for the police officers were on scene that is when a houston police officer spotted the gunmen who they said was dressed in all black from head to toe and armed with a shotgun. they engage that suspect and fired, killing the gunmen for the investigation is still ongoing were still needed details this afternoon. police are looking for a motive. but one thing is important to note here pretty interesting is that the suspect was recently evicted from that building. that could possibly have been a

trigger for him, eric. eric: that perhaps could be a motive we'll see what police say of course. alexis thank you, arthel. if america's growing scrutiny around nfl buffalo bills of the team release rookie puncher matt he was expected to be the team's next big star but was cut yesterday after a lawsuit accused him of taking part in the gang rape of a 17 year old girl last year. a new report claims at least two other teens of potential red flags and that bills may have ignore those warnings. charles watson is in atlanta with the latest, charles. >> hey good afternoon arthel but former buffalo bills punter matt has not only lost his job, but he could be's staring at criminal charges in the future this after unnamed 17-year-old filed a civil suit in san diego superior court accusing of rate.

this lawsuit also names two of his teammates at san diego state it alleges the 17-year-old first met he was 21 at the time at a party in san diego last october while this young woman was visibly intoxicated with the suit goes on to claim that when the two were left alone araiza told the miner to quote perform sex on him before it leading her to a bedroom where she said she was gang raped by the three defendants in this case a for more than an hour as she went in and out of consciousness. buffalo bills general manager brandon said the team found out about these allegations against araiza and late to draw lots investigation. their questions how thorough this investigation was because it appeared the organization back the rookie puncher after naming him a starter. essentially it last week. a decision the team may be regretting as people question

extreme hunger because of the inadequacies of the taliban they could fight they seemingly cannot run a government. >> is not exactly with the taliban is there to do the first place is write an effective government for their people. the best hope the people of afghanistan has is themselves and their willingness to resist against the tallow band and push them back from what they are doing to them in a number of fronts. the tallow man as part of this the agenda of building with the women and children are doing their is they are the ones fighting for their own liberty in their own freedom and trying to provide for themselves. that is the best hope the afghans have write notes or ability to do this for themselves. we should absolutely support them in any way we can. so for how to they do that at the point of a gun when you have a taliban terrorists wanting to take your door down come in and kill you, kill you and your

family for they are so brave and courageous. is there any way, colonel, they can somehow modify the taliban, change the child in or can they even overthrow the taliban eventually? >> eric, that's really hard to say for sure what the long-term view looks like. but i guess what they need to do is they can start locally where they are at and do with the resistance the best they can within their offices where they are working. within some the nongovernmental organizations that are there to assist them. and to try to educate their children the best they can despite the taliban try to destroy that education. the other part is they can lean on the fact there is active resistance in that country. such as in the valley where there is a northern resistance again built under the soviet union's occupation of afghanistan for this is not new to afghanistan. they know better than anybody how to build resistance over time for the women and children are going to again be able to be part of that now. that taste of freedom that they

have had, they're not going to forget that anytime soon. eric: finally, colonel behind you have a part of we the people and assigns about liberty because your group is restore liberty. you openly talk about the fact they have had that tasted freedom. what can we do? what can we as americans individual citizens what can we do to try to help that? is there any way we can help them out of this and give them the help they so desperately need? now that as you say they know what life is now what it's like not under the tallow band. >> that is a very hard problem to solve for sure. one thing we have to make sure we continue from a position of strength here in america but to be an example of people around the world of what freedom and can look like. so it can continue to fight for that themselves for the second thing is to look into actual effective nongovernmental organizations that are helping the afghans. women and children specifically with education and food believe it or not things like firewood that is so limited there in

but actually go there, stay learn how to live and work there consistently over time. before they potentially talk michael into to mars would you always think about that in here that part is that realistic? can mars be habitable at least as we had the moon launch? you think we will eventually go to mars? >> think eventually we will. i think people have to realize this is a very dangerous. it's very difficult and it costs a lot of dollars. danger, difficulty dollars we understand the danger. we are savvy enough tactically to get over the difficulty part. we just have to make sure we costlier having the right amount of funding to allow student things we need to do to get humans all the way to mars. let them live and work there and then return them safely to earth. >> art that's often the future.
