renewable source. they said it couldn't be done, for months into the joe biden's administration, joe biden said "it's an chills down my spine." it's amazing that we are making a real dent -- remember this date. it will live alongside thomas edison -- invention of the incandescent light bulb. saw a glimpse of humanity's future. there were some caveats to this achievement. for starters, april is not the time to test the power grid. electricity use is at its lo lowest. looking to supply power to los angeles, the biggest city in california, and now that we are being honest, it wasn't entirely

renewable. as the "l.a. times" conceded in its press release about renewables, the state of california was "burning a bunch of natural gas." according to scientists, it qualifies as a fossil fuel, which is not technically renewable. then there was this: the template fact that there was the green energy miracle that sent chills down the spine of californians, described as "amazing." lasted for a total of four seconds. not days or hours, seconds, four seconds. that is what california politicians were talking about. four seconds of not actually renewable energy, but the celebration -- just a few months earlier, in mid-august, california's energy grid had collapsed completely.

half a million -- lost power in heat wave. it was expected to get a lot worse. late afternoon -- people returned to their homes, and were hoping to use electricity. the state would be short thousands -- and that would mean that millions of californians which have -- would have to live without power whatsoever. so they had this strategy that the developing world has known well: rolling blackouts. almost -- "it's almost 3:00 p.m., time to trump major appliances," tweeted in 2020. "turn off excess lights or unplug any appliances you are not using. we need every californian to help conserve energy." the message was clear: "we give up! we are not providing the best

standard of living to our most heavily text americans --" the most part, californians did play all along, but the problems did not improve, in fact, they got worse. the california energy commission -- widespread power outages in the state of california are -- for the next five years at least. september will always be the worst months. devices -- "securing energy reliability is a tremendous responsibility, which is becoming increasingly difficult to fulfill, but the tools we have in hand --" stop whining, keep the power on, but "we don't have enough tools!" those would include this famous nuclear plant. that was shuttered a decade ago after 40 years of protest, supposedly on behalf of something called the environment. it did not matter: the state shut it down did scientists

estimate that this led to the release of 7 million metric tons -- in the atmosphere. if you believe that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, and they all do, that is a bad thing, but admit -- it did not stop california from polluting in the name of saving the environment. to plant supplies energies to millions of other californians. as a result that -- many closures are powerpoints -- the state of california gets one-third of its energy elsewhere. that was a display from -- supposedly our richest state. say what you will about californian politicians, like them or not: it's indisputable that on the question of energy, they have no idea what they are doing, and we know this because

their track record of incompetence is lengthy. they are majestic in their ineptitude, so naturally, they want more power over power. this week, the state surgically enhanced gavin newsom, announcing the new way -- the energy grid. he wants to ban gas powered engines and force everyone to drive electric vehicles, which no longer work when they are plugged into an outlet. >> we had the first jurisdiction in the world require all new cars to be sold to be alternative fueled cars. we are going through one of the great transformations in our history: energy transformations. it will -- the economy. >> here is a guy who has never

had a job, could not fix a broken lawn mower, let alone about energy, architecture, and -- the same guy who presented over state where you can no longer power your washing machine is telling you that he's going to control -- i just think about this for one second: if that guy can tell you what kind of car you can drive, why can't he tell you what kind of food you can eight, who you can sleep with? so, it's all totalitarian, total control over you. banning the gas engine is, among many other things, an attack on -- electric vehicles can be, above all, controlled by the people who control the grids that means the next time that california's energy regulators decide to shut off power, you can't leave california. a few things you might notice

about this. first, they are doing this because they are concerned about carbon initiatives. fossil fuels added to carbon initiatives, and -- if you are actually worried about that, what's the first thing you would be thinking "private jet travel, obviously, it emits a lot of carbon. in just 60 minutes, it emits about 60 times more than an average household emits in three months in one flight! private jet travel's are responsible for more greenhouse gases than the nation of denmark. commercial planes -- private planes collude -- so you would think that most people who fly private our affluence by definition, and the global warming cult is most popular with the affluent, that these same people would have given up private jet travel, but just the

opposite: it's become more popular since the pandemic. it's up 22% since 2019. more than 70% of all private jet flights take place in the united states. what are they doing? ferrying politicians like gavin newsom who doesn't fly commercial, and celebrities like taylor swift, who is jet famously 8,300 tons of carbon this year so far. if you are looking to reduce carbon emissions, you would think they would worry less about your minivan, and more about their g4. but they are worried, and that's why taylor swift, gavin newsom, nancy pelosi all of the people lecturing about climate will never give up their private jets, because when you fly private coming in not only have to not wear a mask, but you are

also immune from the laws of climate change! california has no interest in people who are making -- and preventing people who are making the rules from doing what they want. that's california, so you are tempted to say "it's beautiful but is run by lunatics and turning into a third world country, so maybe, this is just part of their slate of ideas," but it's not just california. it's also happening in more recent places like virginia. currently requires gasoline parts to be saved out -- which is pretty soon. massachusetts and washington have similar laws -- so does new york, and so does oregon. 15 states support their plan for general mission vehicles. they are electric and therefore can be controlled by the energy grid and regulators who oversee it, and it's not just 15 states: it's the federal government!

byproducts they don't want. this is not a transformation as it would in a democracy where people can choose where they live. this is for a small number of people on top. australia has announced it would be ending loans. parliament was supporting a ban on the sale of gasoline in 2045 in europe. as we told you last night, is a place where they are turning off traffic lights and don't enough energy to keep them on. how is this going to work? the fact that this -- gasoline engines, which we've had for more than 100 years -- if you are a normal person and
