new op ed admits new york is struggling to keep black voters supporting stacey abrams in georgia. percentage of black males vote are for democrats is decreasing with each election. 80% support for biden in 2020, for obama, it was 95%. what is clear is that the softening support for democrats among black men is not just a thing people like me find interesting, democratic candidate find it disturbing enough to worry about and that should worry all democrats. david, why is this happening? >> david: well, let's think of something, here is a secret, todd. we're not all monolithic issue not all blacks think alike. we can see the world across the generations and make decisions. for too long and two things concern me, one, good to see people thinking for themselves,

black or otherwise, regard to color of skin and look at policies that affect them at the street level, two, this is young versus old with younger voters looking at older politicians and older democrat establishment telling them what they should think and how they should think and vote. that is what is going on here, i'm concerned about the move toward progressivism, because younger blacks or anyone in this country, should be wary of progressive promises and whether it was defund the police, black lives matters or other issues. "new york times" is trying to wrap this around and make it seem we have a concern, but this is the answer, when real answer is political thought and social thought think about what affects you and act on that. >> todd: do you think we will

see exodus of blacks to the republican party like we've seen latinos this year? it is pretty hot and heavy how quickly latinos have come to the gop. >> david: well, it began some time ago, it is happening. when you look at middle class blacks living out of urban environment in the suburbs, we've talked about that before, when you look at inner-city genderification, growth and wealth and while there are poor blacks in some areas in america and blue cities especially, there are a lot of blacks in the american model, working whether in warehouse or corporate office, anywhere innen 22, so this is a natural diversity that already existed and continues to grow in america and that is what democrats are concerned about, people start thinking for themselves and don't think color of skin and party affiliation.

patrick windhorst joins me now. no more cash bail, not for violent crimes, right? no state would do that. >> in illinois, we have done that beginning january 1. beginning january 1, certain crimes like burglary, robbery and arson no longer will eligible for detention unless a judge finds the person is likely to flee the jurisdiction. for most who commit offenses, they will be released within 24 hours arrest. >> carley: goes into effect 2023, what happens to illinois and chicago when this goes into effect? >> my concern, this will have tremendous impact in negative way and lead to more crime in communities, particularly violent crime. we've seen bail reform over four or five years and what has
