today, the big guy is blaming republicans of a political stunt. >> we're committed to fixing immigration system. instead of working with us on solutions. republicans are playing politics with human beings. using them as props. what they are doing is simply wrong. it's unamerican. it's reckless. >> griff: this after two texas buses out of del rio dropped 101 migrants off outside of vice president's harris' home at the naval observatory. just days after she repeatedly claimed the border is, quote, secure. governor abbott's press secretary issued a statement yesterday saying this the white house is full of a bunch of hypocrites led by the hypocrite in chief who has been flying plane loads of migrants across the country and oftentimes in the cover of night. and on the tiny island paradise where many celebrities vacation it's apparently causing a crisis. martha's vineyard twitter account posting to our island community here's an update on the current humanitarian crisis on martha's vineyard.

we thank people for their continued help. now, let's just put these numbers in perspective. the population of del rio, grand zero for illegal crossings is under 35,000. they had nearly 50,000 encounters in july alone whereas martha's vineyard year around population 17,000. they got 50 migrants. now, as for those buses, governor abbott says they will keep rolling to bring relief to his overrun border towns. brian, ainsley and steve? >> steve: that's right. in martha's vineyard describing it as humanitarian crisis with 50 whereas nbc -- nbc estimates 8,000 come into the country illegally every day. so 8,000 versus 50. one is a humanitarian crisis. the other not so much. you were right there. you were talking to the people who were in central america at-largely venezuelan. and what they said to you yesterday as they got off the bus is jaw-dropping. >> griff: they were telling us exactly what they see with their

see what the doj combings up with. suggesting the governors of texas and florida are conducting kidnapping operations which is crazy. because it's okay for the federal government to let people in but then it's not okay for people in non-sanctuary states to transport them throughout the country. so, you know, if they are going to charge ron desantis with kidnapping or greg abbott with kidnapping. somebody needs to, you know, maybe look at the administration and charge them with obstruction. because, clearly the administration is not enforcing the security laws of this land. and securing our southern border. otherwise, those people would not be tipping their hats to griff as they walked off the bus. >> ainsley: we are not equipped for this. we need to bus them to sanctuary states because this is what they are equipped for. this is what they wanted. they were praising the fact that they were sanctuary states when donald trump was in office. >> steve: right, ainsley, they weren't equipped to handle it the sanctuaries of new york and martha's vineyard calling it a

crisis. >> ainsley: yesterday, i'm walking out of this building and these two guys who work the door there, they stopped me and said we have been watching your coverage of this and they said they think it's great that these governors are putting them on the door steps of kamala harris and sending them to martha's vineyard and these two guys said they did it the right way. and they said one guy said i didn't see my wife for two years. i had to hire lawyers. i had to fill out all this paperwork. i didn't see my wife for two years. >> brian: he was an immigrant. >> ainsley: did he it the right way and age to bring his family when he got citizenship. i guess he came over on work visa. you talk to anyone who did it the right way they are furious about this. had to go through lengthy process, pay the money, take the test and become a citizen. that was a glorious day for them. for these individuals to find out on the news that our borders are open and they say come on everybody, pack your bags, the whole family goes over the border and do it the wrong way and admitted that they are illegal and they get a cell phone and sneakers. a place to live.

chest when trump was president saying they were so proud to be sanctuary jurisdictions. saying how bad it was to have a secure border. the minute even a small fraction of what those border towns deal with every day is brought to their front door they all of a sudden go ba zerich and so upset that this is happening. and it just shows you their virtue signal something a fraud. >> brian: wouldn't doubt start dropping them in delaware. >> ainsley: does that mean biden gets charged with kidnapping too because he was dumping people. >> steve: brilliant messaging for the first time in my adult life when i was driving in the car yesterday, cbs news led with the migrant story that they were dropped off in front of the vice president's house. >> brian: they don't tell the whole story though, right? they act like martha's vineyard is in peril. they don't say what led to this. >> steve: they said this happened and that, you know, they flew the two planes in to martha's vineyard and they

dropped people off at kamala harris' front door. but then they said, you know, that the venezuelans in the united states are angry because these governors are treating them like cargo. but to governor desantis' point, the federal government was flying these people around treating them like cargo for months under the cover of darkness. nobody said a word. but suddenly 50 people show up on that tarmac in martha's vineyard where it sounds like they currently are at an episcopal church in edgar town. they will be taken to joint base cape cod for the next couple of weeks until they are able to figure out where they should go hypocrisy is just delicious. because when fifth show up it's a crisis. when 8,000 show up on our southern border we just call that friday. >> brian: another administration official told axios the whole of government should be working on how to deal with the 8,500 encounters a day at the border.

administration to heal us when it comes to inflation? watch. >> this is the work that the president is going to continue to do to make sure that we're lowering costs and it's part of his economic plan to make sure that we don't leave anybody behind, that we are building an economy from the bottom up and the middle out as you have heard him say as well. but, look, we also understand that, you know, high costs are, um, uh, really hurting families. which is why we have done the work that we have done the past several months and we will continue to do -- continue to make sure we find ways that, uh, to lower costs for families. >> steve: so why is she saying that? it is 52 days until the midterm election. >> ainsley: this the work they have done over the last few months record high. >> brian: making it work. >> steve: 8.3%, year over year. these are historic highs, not quite as high as it was a couple mondays ago but people are finally getting used to it, these prices are going to be stuck with us for a while.

when you look at this new fox news poll, 89% of the country disagrees with what she says because 89 pours say they are very or extremely concerned about inflation and higher prices. >> ainsley: look at the second one right up there with it. that's pretty scary. >> steve: crime is at 80%. what taught in schools 71%. clearly these are going to be big issues come the midterms. which are just around the corner. >> ainsley: things might be a little bit better. we are still paying 8.3% more for consumer goods than we were just a year ago. >> steve: so we are buying less stuff. and we are getting kind of used to it and that's not good. >> ainsley: buying less and spending more because prices are so high. >> brian: couple things also happening, the interest rates are going up. they are going to be 6%. if you want to get a new home. you want to get your first home. you are not doing it. the way of solving inflation, if you are look at the past, well, let's raise inflation and curb the economy.

let's stop the enthusiasm. get people to stop pend spending and calm down and this way the prices will come down, demand will diminish. you also combine that the theory goes with cutting spending. the president is doing the exact opposite. what is also going up is the average pay raise for people. but it's only going up half as fast as the inflation. so you might paycheck have a little more why isn't it going as far because it's only around 5%. >> ainsley: not enough to offset the inflation. you are paying so much in inflation. you would have to get, what, a 9% raise to cover the inflation. >> steve: just to be even with where you were last year. anyway, the white house, apparently, does not feel your pain, we know exactly what you are going through. it. >> brian: if the republicans are smart, they will just don't spin it. just talk about it. you talk about inflation. you talk about economic issues. not in grandiose terms. kind of like stuart varney does

that princes andrew and prince harry were not allowed to wear their military uniforms when the procession, when the coffin processed on wednesday from buckingham palace to westminster all. there are reports in the press that special dispensation has been made for the two of them to dawn their military uniforms just for a vigil that will be performed tonight among the children of the queen and tomorrow for the grandchildren of the queen. harry served a decade in the military and did two tours in afghanistan. and, of course, prince andrew had a very long military career. both off line military duties for different reasons. so both of them have been stripped of the right to wear those uniforms. steve, there will be some exception made today and tomorrow and that is being called a, quote, goodwill gesture. steve, ainsley and brian? >> amy, thank you very much.

now. mr. mayor,. >> good morning. >> brian: take in homeless. you have feel as though they are dumping a major amount on you. why? >> yeah, we are more than willing to take our share. in fact we probably do more for the homeless than any other city in the region. we have seen a huge influx of homeless people over the past couple of months. we really didn't understand what was going on. and when we did an investigation, we found out that our hotels were being filled with homeless through our homeless voucher program. we of had not been talked about this by the county. some of our hotels are 50% filled with homeless some up to 100 percent filled with homeless. we call foul because what is really happening is sheriff deputies are coming and dropping off homeless people. county employees are moving homeless people around and all of this done without any discussion with us. >> brian: every 28 days when it's up move them to a new hotel in your county. you believe a lot to do with the fact that you are a republican.

here is what the san diego county board of supervisors said. i want you to respond, please. the board of supervisors taking action on bipartisan way to do the difficult work of getting people off the streets and into permanent housing. mayor bill wells calling you out specifically and the city of al can a hone. bill? >> you know, it's absolutely ridiculous and kind of infantile to be honest. we are not pushing anybody out onto the streets. what we are saying is we need to make sure there is equity. they love to use the word equity. nobody is being equitable in taking care of their sharon of the homeless. if you look at the nice beach community, liberal beach communities out on the coast. they don't have any of these people going into their hotels. it's all being pushed out to the suburbs in places where they never visit and they don't care about. >> brian: right. so, do you ever walk and talk to
