from bussing and flying migrants from the border area to democrat-run sanctuary cities and states. apparently the tipping point was the latest shipment of migrants by private plane to martha's vineyard. the president last night sounding off on all this. >> we are committed to fixing the immigration system, instead of working with us on solutions, republicans are playing politics with human beings, using them as props. what they are doing is simply wrong, it's un-american, it's wreckless. >> according to nbc, some internal division over how the administration should respond to all of this, and some dhs officials have expressed frustration at the meetings with the white house reluctant to take a page from the book of republican governors and transport them to cities in the u.s. obtained by internal communications by nbc news. the second gentleman reacting to the group of migrants dropped off in front of the vice president's residence yesterday.

>> bill: sandra, as usual, we have had ourselves yet another busy day out here in eagle pass, just in the span of a couple hours we saw well over 500 illegal crossings in several different parts of the city, and right to the video and show our viewers. take a look. this is the debut of the new nighttime flying fox news drone with thermal imaging, we were able to fly it early this morning as it was dark out and seeing the migrants crossing the river, walking up the riverbank into a private orchard here in eagle pass. the group was well over 100 people, all gathered together, all crossing illegally at the same time. they come across and wait for border patrol to apprehend them. eagle pass, number one spot along the border for the large groups, but that was not the only one we saw this morning. take a look across town on the north side of eagle pass, this group walking down a local highway after they crossed illegally. this group, about 200 people in size. as you can see, most of them predominantly single adults, which is largely what we are

seeing out here in the del rio sector, sometimes upwards of 2,000 illegal crossings every single day. and while that was happening, take a look at this third group the drone team saw. other side of town, about 200 in size as well, again, predominantly single adults. we are not seeing the family units like last summer. over 450,000 illegal crossings here, double last year. and fentanyl bust out of nogales, seizing 276,000 fentanyl pills hidden in a vehicle spare tire, a smuggler tried to get through with the pills. more than half the rainbow color the dea says is designed to go for younger users.

and they arrested a convicted murderer, from nicaragua, previously convicted of murder in miami in 1996. he has been deported two times, as recently as in june, and he tried crossing again this week but border patrol agents were able to find him, catch him, and he will be getting deported again. >> sandra: real stuff happening every single day. bill at the border with the continued fantastic reporting, thank you. john. >> john: art del cueto, just about everybody is playing politics here, abbott, ducey, lightfoot, desantis, or the white house saying the border is closed, when it's anything but. let's just take a look at the statistics here. number of people flown to martha's vineyard, 50.

d.c., 9600, chicago, 500. along the southern border in texas, 1,946,780, according to the last official count. art, we know that number is well over 2 million. >> it's just chaotic, and this chaos started day one. day one of this administration is it when this chaos started. they put that magnet there to say hey, come, ask for asylum, you have the catch and release and you are right, you have other problems in texas. and then look at arizona, when you are having all the got-aways, the drugs coming in, and you know, i think that what these politicians have done by sending and bussing these people to the sanctuary cities, put it in the front yard and said hey, look, there's a problem. you guys need to start addressing the problem instead of ignoring it. when you have people in the white house that are saying people are not walking across, people in the white house saying there is no problem at the southern border, you have to bring that problem to them and say look, now you have to see

it. the so i mean, i don't see the individuals in government that are sending them there doing wrong. they are simply saying we are fed up, you need to acknowledge there's a problem instead of denying it, and i mean, what happened to the signs we are welcoming everyone here. i have seen, you know, some signs in martha's vineyard they said hey, everyone is welcome. i guess the reality, everyone is welcome, but not where we don't want you to be and that's part of the problem. i mean, a lot of hypocrisy going on, it's obvious, and they need to be aware there's a problem, they need to do something and need to figure it out because they created this mess to begin with. >> john: we see pictures of people coming off a small plane at the tiny airport on martha's vineyard. officials are declaring it to be a humanitarian crisis, arrival of 50 illegal immigrants that were flown there. so, let's look at some more statistics. 50 people arrived, 50 illegal immigrants arrived at martha's

vineyard. permanent population, 17,000. during the summertime, 200,000. and the average home price there is $1.35 million, so it's not exactly a destitute place. given the economics and the population size, arrival of 50 people trigger a humanitarian disaster? >> you know, we have been seeing the humanitarian disaster down here on the southern border since this administration took over. they need to answer for the issues that a lot of the border communities are seeing and answer for, you know, agents having to put their lives on the line and basically being told process faster so we can continue to catch and release and need to answer for the amount of drugs entering the country, based on their policies and the lack of commitment defending the nation's borders. >> john: what ron desantis said after he was criticized by many

of the credibility, the power, the ability to exploit businesses that they are involved with. if it had not been for the government stepping in, there would have been a strike and we would have been back in the 1950s where unions caused nationwide strikes, a real shutdown, i think we have a problem with unions as well with inflation and biden has caused both. >> sandra: interesting. as prices continue to soar, so do interest rates, and this is a direct result of what the fed is having to do to tame inflation. it's painful, we have gone through this as a country before. but raising the key fed fund interest rates result in higher borrowing costs, and the average car payment, a new car loan payment, it is hitting a record high, $743 a month. art, this is out of control. >> it is truly out of control and i do think a lot of the

fault here rests with the fed. they are trying to raise rates to market levels, a little bit at a time, like taking off a band aid, a little bit at a time. if you must be doing it, just take the band aid off and get it done with, and these guys should let interest rates seek their natural level to where no one would buy a ten year bond today, no reasonable person would buy a ten year bond because of the 3.5% yield. with the inflation the way it is, the economy the way it is, you would require at least a 10% yield or more. the fed has held down the interest rates by buying and buying and buying bonds out of their balance sheet, subsidized inflation and created a society of where inflation is just rampant and they have not done much whatsoever to bring it under control. they need to let interest rates go and seek their own level in a free market. price controls never work, sandra. >> sandra: as you know, that could inflict some serious, at least short-term pain in the form of potentially millions of job losses in a matter of days, weeks, months, of a move like

that, art. but we get your point, i mean -- there's going to have to be serious economic point to write this ship and get those prices down. this also is what americans is dealing with. this is home prices. through the roof, i mean -- art, you are looking at the average mortgage rate over 6% in this country right now. it was below 3. mortgages are up 63%. 53 days to midterm election day. a lot could happen between the u.s. housing market between now and then. you could have a lot of folks underwater and the mortgages in a different economic environment. >> you are very true. that's all true. but you know, by the fed doing it so slowly, they are going to guarantee the damage is more than it possibly ever could by by getting it done quickly. my view, not the huge amount of pain. you would get some pain, that's for sure, but it would be much less than this silly bit of

>> well, she claims she does, sandra, but many residents we have spoken to are very scared. good afternoon from the corner of wisconsin, in the heart of georgetown, homes go for over $1 million, a lot of high end shops, boutique shops, a lot of the stores are closed, especially eyewear stores. one was recently robbed for $100,000 in merchandise. across the street was robbed as well. we asked them to talk about the robberies, they were too scared, declined to go on camera. this business owner talked about the threat and how scared he is, sandra. >> a couple break-in, and mostly was in the glass shops, they are looking for troubles, you know, they can do anything they want. >> carjacking involving guns in d.c. is up 74% this year alone. murder up this year as well, on top of a nearly 20-year high a

hollywood area high school. 15-year-old boy accused of selling what authorities believed a fentanyl laced pill to a student, melanie ramos. suffered fentanyl poisoning and found dead in the bathroom tuesday night. the young suspect was arrested at his grandmother's house and found additional pills they believed to be laced with fentanyl in that home. >> our work does not stop because these two individuals, 15 and 16 years of age, are simply transferring and soldiering, if you will, this distribution. there is a drug organization behind this. >> police say ramos and her friend unknowingly bought fentanyl-laced pills from the 15-year-old suspect on campus at bernstein high school, they thought they bought percocet. her friend is recovering in the hospital as ramos's family comes to terms with her tragic loss.
