for them for they are reciprocating and kind to the public by being so public. surprisingly showing up and standing guard in honor for 15 minutes, what your thoughts on that? >> well, my thoughts on that if you go back to ancient times, kings had to be seen by their people. but of course there is no other way for people to recognize it but to see them in person. and i think it has been a tradition for almost a thousand years the king must meet the people. in this humbling almost religious ceremony, of course it is modern now. it is very cheerful, they are shaking hands, smiling and asking people how long they have been waiting. but it still has a big, big feeling of history to it. i think actually william and his father looked like they are really enjoying it. and prince charles particularly looks very relaxed. and so he is really happy to get

the adulation that he is getting from his subjects. eric: we certainly hope the royal family are getting comfort two. and as you say, the modern age they have broken some norms including princess and in the vigil of the princess. and then the grandchildren that was so moving and the last hour. the reflections on these new barriers that have been broken and the factory saw the grandchildren pay respect to their grandmother. >> well certainly that would have been the queen's wishes. these are great ceremonial occasions and nothing is left to chance. she obviously wanted her grandchildren to be able to pay their respects. there is no better way. it's the vigil of the grandchildren now. it is not just vigil of princess it is vigil of grandchildren. especially moving to see the youngest grandchild who was there, viscount who is prince

national mom the second annual lost voices for fentanyl unity march. it's meant to raise awareness and the deadly drug epidemic that we have been suffering in our country part alexandra half live in washington with what those voices are saying. >> hi eric. these victims are of all ages but 18 -- 45 is the leading cause of death for that age range and now operate these families came from all across the country. they did so because they felt like this crisis is not being taken seriously enough by the bite administration. we do in their voices to be heard for this afternoon those marchers took to the streets leaving the national mall here heading towards the white house but in their hands they were carrying signs showing the faces of children, siblings, loved ones who had passed away due to poisoning by fentanyl for they consider that to be homicide here those loved ones. they say the president has not address this crisis. they wanted to bring that message directly to him.

resident sought nearly 12% job. miami reported more than 10% spike in prices. in houston, texas inflation was up 9.5%. that is all compared to the national average of around 8%. let's bring in from the washington examiner for kayleigh, let me set the stage here. the consumer price index you know this it measures a much people are paying for goods and services. the higher indicates higher inflation and vice versa. and of course the prices of houses, the cost of cool and heat those houses and grocery store prices is why the cpi is so high in these key swing states. a lot of folks flocking to arizona and florida. however, can democratic senators mark kelly, warnock and congresswoman val deming site those stats is the cause of her spiked inflation in their cities? it's not their fault over those candidates be conjoined with the inflation woes of the biden

administration? >> there are two poles that are really important. the first is like the one we saw from pennsylvania just a few minutes ago which shows the vast majority of voters who plan to turn out in november care about inflation and the economy the most. the second important poll shows 85% of the country, including a majority of democrats are discontent with the direction the country is heading. that means that they do hold inflation and the economy responsible for a lot of the crises they are experiencing today. and normally when that is the case the party that is in control of washington is going to suffer the consequences. so a lot of these polls show really tight races between republican and democratic candidates especially in senate races, i warn people to take it with a grain of salt. a lot of what we are seeing from voters is they are very discontent with democratic rule in washington usually democrats will end up losing as a result of that. arthel: conversely we were just talking about the inflation is a major campaign issue.

is it enough republicans to blame president biden and the democrats assail be better under republican leadership? or must the republicans as a ps, by the way here's how we are going to correct it? >> is important for republicans to give commonsense solutions and to tell voters what they plan to to do to combat inflation. the problem is the democrats do not have any sort of solution to offer voters. the obvious solution be to cut best wasteful federal spending. they cannot do that they just spent trillions more dollars on the inflation reduction act and plan to spend trillions more on suppose it student loan debt forgiveness. they have no actual solution for voters who are suffering from high prices right now. and instead they want to make things worse. arthel: how will the republicans spell out we can fix this we can reverse this? >> i think the person will be to lay out a plan, which proposals have been set forth by the biden administration, which government

agencies are spending what money and what can be cut back. there's a lot of initiatives the biden administration has a rollback promote environmentalism. clean energy. the question is are the things necessary in the sort of economy? we should be looking for ways we could cut back on the deficit without doing significant damage to basic programs that most voters rely upon. but there are ways we can cut back. arthel: what does this mean for the democrats were trying to hold onto the senate and for the republicans trying to take it back in the next few weeks? >> i think it means democrats have a hard race cut out for them. we have seen in the past few weeks the races have tightened a bit. vatican lanes are not as high as they once were projected to be. republicans do have the advantage on the economy but they have the advantage on inflation. and that his wife see a lot of democrats shying away from those issues and instead trying to focus voters attention on other things like abortion. and those issues are not as important to voters. it's going to be a tough sell. arthel: i get it we have to go

but yesterday l.a. superior court judge determined only alec baldwin should remain a defendant in this case. in his ruling he said quote the only person who knew baltimore was going to fire the weapon what's baldwin. this dismisses mitchell's claim of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress against the rust producers. legal expert claypool tells me mitchell failed to prove those claims. >> and use it for intentional infliction of emotional distress, you have to prove outrageous conduct. and here, both sides agreed that the producers and the production company were not aware that alec baldwin was going to caulk a gun and pulled the trigger on the set. >> baldwin denies pulling the trigger even though he was holding the prop gun when it fired. it's important to note the judge's ruling yesterday does not mean the rust producers are out of the woods just yet. mitchell still has 20 days to

signatures. they need about 54000 to officially petition the governor for an official recall election. we will see what's ahead arthel. eric: arthel, the latest controversy over progressive prime policies is in illinois over a new law that will make it the first estate in the country to completely end cash bail. starting a generous suspect can only be kept in custody before trial if they are charged with a quote forcible felony like murder, sexual assault or burglary. if they pose a threat to the community or an individual or a high flight risk. critics say the law called the safety act will only cause more harm. >> there is nothing just. there's nothing promoting safety about allowing individuals who choose to break the law to threaten and to hurt innocent people, allow them back on the streets to do it again. that is the opposite of justice.

that is the opposite of promoting safety within our community for a quick note cash bail a good idea? joining us now former d.c. homicide detective ted williams also fox news contributor. ted, you put your fair share of defendants behind bars what you make of screen someone felony bill at all? >> i want to use the word ridiculous and i guess i should. this is utterly ridiculous. this is a pretrial. why can't lawmakers look out for regular citizens in a neighborhood? why don't we have law-abiding fairness act? here they are saying the minority community will be disproportionately impacted. and this is the reason on no bail law. but think about it.

the minority community specifically in the chicago area is already disproportionately impacted by crime. black on black crime is up if you are in chicago alone and you do not have at least 50 killings a weekend of 50 shootings in a weekend you are not in chicago. you are not helping people, you are hurting law-abiding citizens by enacting this no cash bail. >> law-abiding fairness act for that sounds like a good idea to me. you know it's astounding about this, ted there are 102 states attorneys in illinois part 102. all of them except to are against this. but supporters say cash bail is unfair if you cannot afford it. that penalizes people who cannot afford to bail a keeps low-level offenders in jail sometimes for months and that is unfair.

tropical storm's units at the third nearing flash flood's to puerto rico the u.s. virgin islands. we are told fiona could eventually become a hurricane. adam is alive with more on that. has a forecast for this week and, hey adam. >> as you said the storm still strengthening as it moves across the caribbean. likely will become hurricane eventually probably tomorrow. conditions are going to continue to deteriorate overnight across portions of puerto rico. hurricane warning's are in place for the island and nation. hurricane watch wrapping around the dominican republic probably eventually going to be a warning. currently you see were all this rain is for that is the island of puerto rico.
