to further restrict abortions in states where it is illegal. outlawing late term abortions. just about no one on the right or left likes the senator's proposal. >> after 15 weeks, no abortion on demand except for in cases of rape, incest, to save the life of the mother and that should be where america is at. >> graham's dangerous ugly desperation move is the most definitive evidence you will ever get. >> now lindsay graham trying desperately with the hail mary here to put a new marker down for republicans. >> you could have done it any other day. just like joel should have delayed that stupid party. >> i do not think there is a bad day to stand up for the unborn. >> you are right. >> i will not ever apologize about standing up for the unborn. you know what --

howard: joining us now is ben domenech. and in new york, liz claman. the media left and right harshly critical of lindsay graham. both parties pushing this bill. it has no chance of passing six weeks before the midterm. >> one thing i do think is interesting about this coverage is how it sweeps aside the fact that when you actually pull on this issue, lindsay graham's proposal is not a radical proposal, it is in the center of american discourse. it is roughly around the point where americans really are in terms of what they think should be the policy. the objection, i think from the right is largely driven by the fact that federal officials want to skate by this issue.

for a lot of political reasons. they do not want to talk about it in the campaign. they view it as taking away from the different points they want to emphasize on the economy, on inflation. all of these other concerns that they think should take it. it is really where the objections are coming from on the right. >> calling the senators bill cruel because it would have ill effect on red states that have already banned or will be an abortion. it would affect blue states that do not want to outlaw abortion after 15 weeks. texas can still do what it wants, but california cannot. that is the argument we are hearing from a lot of people on the left. >> if you stick with how the media looks at it, i found this so interesting. the new york post has a headline in an op-ed saying, sorry, lindsay, and basically how they

are arguing it is the standpoint of you cannot just break up these types of subjects. you out the republicans chasing, they left the dog chasing a car for five decades and they finally caught it. the supreme court overturned roe v wade sending it back to the states and here is lindsay graham on an important day throwing that dog right under the wheel. there are two reasons why you have to media not having to do any heavy lifting here. they just put up the microphones in the hall of congress or in key battleground states and as politico put it, supportive and saying a defense of lindsay graham, suddenly, the republicans are scattering like a terrified herd of antelope. i will make this quick, this is a political issue. they have run away from it all summer. it is a liability.

after the abortion issue in terms of codifying road on some federal level. going against texas and the other red states that have done something. something that is likely to happen. the other thing that is important to understand, this is a failure of politicians mortise the conservative movement. perfectly capable of defending the pro-life cause of standing up to people that are in favor of abortion on any kind of stage. i could pick the median person put them on stage across from a democratic candidate and they would be more active in making better arguments in the average politician right now. that is an indictment of our political class and media class more than the pro-life movement. >> the reason some women would seek an abortion after 20 weeks is that is a point where you can

get the result of amnio or other testing. >> and the fact that lindsay graham is not looking at that. he did say there would be abortions available in cases of rape and incest, but not for personal decision about personal healthcare. decisions people make with their family, themselves, their clear g. lindsay graham did not show that he had knowledge that a lot of issues come up after 15 weeks. different genetic testing that may come up or some horrific development. a person in the audience when lindsay graham proposed his legislation that led i chose to have a baby but i found after 20 weeks or 15 weeks my baby had a terrible condition where the brain did not develop. the baby lived or eight days. lead from every orifice. people should be able to make

that decision on their own. government needs to stay out of it. >> i feel like we have been living in a fantasy land where the media has not taken pro-lifers seriously. they would just always be on the opposite losing side of this argument. i think now they have the ability they should be given an opportunity to do so. i think it's terrible so many media entities do not even employ one pro-life voice. >> this argument will continue at the state level and federal level. i want to switch topics here. donald trump called into the radio show of hugh hewitt. he asked him if he is indicted, would that deter him from running for president again. take a listen. >> i do not think the people of

enormous backlash. we should understand that for decades now, republicans have been, as the party of law & order and backing the blue and all that sort of thing, they have been the ones advocating for police power, defense many times of the fbi, cia and other entities, now i think that would be completely broken. bipartisan opposition for different reasons to our law enforcement entities. >> i feel like hugh hewitt did a good job. i don't think they will stop until they indict you. he may not be indicted. >> i listen to and i read the whole transcript. i actually did not think he did a great job. he kind of let go once donald trump said i'm just making an observation. i am not sure where n is coming from saying it will not result in riots. we saw what happened on january january 6. we will fight like hell.

president biden threw a party at the white house to celebrate the passage of the so-called inflation reduction act. inflation moving up to 8.3% last month. numbers that tanked the stock market and created a surreal split screen moment. >> a single most important legislation passed in the congress to combat inflation. >> a split screen right now with the dow taking a total beating. it feels like it is celebratory. >> i do not want to be a party crasher but we interrupt for hard cold dose of reality. inflation is accelerating. the inflation that the president said he had made great progress addressing. >> you have joe biden saying he struck a great blow against

inflation while the marketing was plummeting. skeptical of this bizarre moment >> this was more than just an unfortunate split screen. this was from hell. one side you have the president trumpeting the inflation reduction act which by the way a lot of people believe is misnamed. on the other side, the stock market, the market is tanking on the dow jones industrials. the worst loss in history, i believe. lost on viewers because look at the markets. see what happens. a consumer inflation number coming out. worse than expected, hotter than expected. this inflation reduction act not well named going to bring down prices on prescription drugs

in terms of economic issues. as long as he has been in office. >> he is known more for foreign policy approaches and things like that. not someone viewed as being a strong economic minds. when it comes to this manner of policy it just reflects how tone deaf they are and how out of touch. >> now i want to come back to the bill. i don't know they understand that the problem with the climate bill that has been branded, even though a number of obama era economists say it will fuel inflation, most of the benefits do not kick in for a year or two. no short-term effect at all. >> the short term need is extraordinarily important. let's be fair, though. some prices have come down. gasoline national average above

went to the jungle trying to show the crisis at our border. unprecedented numbers. it only took two plane loads of 50 migrants to be dumped into a billionaires backyard to get the whole country talking about what we should have been talking about in the very beginning. this crisis of why they are coming here. the policies are pulling them in record numbers. the number of migrant deaths they do not want to talk about it will not publish as of yesterday was 782. thirty and this month of september alone. thirty migrants have died trying to get here and yet they will not talk about it. a crisis that needs to be addressed. del rio has a population of 35,000. they had 50,000 migrants come there in july. >> in fairness, not told about this.

they don't have any place for them to live or need jobs for them. a political stop by to republican governors to highlight the policies of sanctuary areas. is that a fair point by the media? >> it is a fair criticism because they just arrived at the situation. these are human beings. they are here. we have to figure out what to do with them. the problem is, there are been so many migrants coming and nobody will do anything about it. now the criticism should swing back to the administration to say they are care because they believe the border is open and now desantis got their attention >> some of these migrants were misled. going to boston. told there would be jobs available. some migrants are saying they had never heard of martha's vineyard. they were thanking ron desantis who said they came voluntarily

issues really late in the game. a lot of people will have voted in the early voting process by the time this debate actually happens. if it does happen. there is no indication that he will back out but people are guessing that will be the case. weeks ago there were questions about federman not being on the campaign trail. the first big clue that something was wrong. running a campaign on social media and doing it successfully. no motivation whatsoever to really get him out there answering questions. the media just stayed silently by. out everybody, i know our paper covering it. if he was a republican candidate he would've been all in. no small part of being a senator. he is seriously having problems doing that. >> a 40 minute video interview with the new york times using

reporting on his health, they have done a pretty solid job. >> let me just shift. i want to talk about new york times data guru. a warning sign that the democratic senate candidates are outrunning expectations. the same places where the polls overestimated joe biden supported 202020 and hillary clinton supported 2016. selma these races would be closer than the media consensus. >> well, it is true. what is really disturbing is the pollsters never figured out why they were off. what was wrong, what happened? the issue is not that we can't do math, the data we are getting may not provide the full picture of what is happening with the electorate. they may be over profiling responded to like to participate in these polls and they are not

getting the silent ones who have something different to say he may support republicans. this was a problem in 2020. at may be happening now and 2022. over pulling people that like democrats. that is the simple answer here. if you look at the numbers, it does look to be a little too enthusiastic for democrats, for my comfort level. very critical swing states. >> i interviewed stacy abrams campaign last week. she is not looking at the polls. she is expanding the electorate. you talk to new registered voters. democrats, republicans, independent. they are not being pulled. if this theory is true, these are much tighter races.
