it should never be done. the bond commission is not a place to play politics. arthel: another quick detailed question for you, when does the construction start? when will it be finished? and where will the power plant be built? >> i do not have those details. our job on the commission is to move it forward. it's one of many projects in new orleans to approve the drainage and infrastructure in new orleans. now that it moves forward you will move to the next phase getting the project underway. >> any given afternoon a hard rain will flood many streets. the city is in desperate need of a new power station to run hundreds of drainage pumps and to power water and sewage system as well. help understand why the louisiana state bond commission of this 39 million-dollar line of of credit for the new power

plant? >> it was plain politics. i'm embarrassed by it. i was not at the two previous meetings for the first meeting i had represented and voted to delay it. the next mini has told it was worked out credit was not delayed again. i went last week to the meeting and express my disappointment will hold up infrastructure projects. only the attorney general. arthel: over the attorney general rejected this? >> his representative at this last meeting because of the lack of stand on the abortion issue of not enforcing or not making the priority to enforce the abortion law. and i am not sure exactly what his intentions were there.

but no issue should take precedence over funding critical infrastructure projects. that is not an issue to compare. arthel: i beg your pardon but apparently it's not just your opinion that republican state attorney general jeff landa reportedly has major problems with new orleans response to the state of louisiana near total abortion ban. i was reading and according to politico had this to say at a state bond commission meeting last month. he says quote, this is them coming right out to the rest of the citizens of the state saying we do not care what your law is. so, despite opposition from mr. landry the funds were ultimately released. you mentioned were there as w well. now, as you well know he will likely run for governor next year. will this hold up? and the reason behind it likely get him the keys to the

governor's mansion? or might it lock him out? >> i hope not. the punishing, they threatening, we have got so many projects. his vote was not only holding up in this project, over $600 million in projects would have been held up if he could have got the votes to delay it once again. they voted to hold up all the infrastructure for the state of louisiana. that is ridiculous. the political maneuvering and politics is not a place for the state of louisiana. our job is to make sure these bonds are financially sound and moving forward to those municipalities they can do the important work to make louisiana a safer place. i am embarrassed we held it up to months in a row. public and the democrats together voted to move the project forward against the
