midterm issue and a bigger headache for democrats here on the hill as they just cannot seem to iran out details on immigration reform and just as you mentioned here, house leader kevin mccarthy tweeting if biden and democrats don't use this government-funding bill to address the border crisis immediately, i'm voting no on this bill and i urge my colleagues to do the same. as you mentioned, the government shutdown is looming, just days away. the standoff is tense looming on the hill, there may be another one if the gop flips the house. happening behind closed doors, fox is told kevin mccarthy is presenting commitment to america to the house gop conference, being joined by former speaker newt gingrich and kellyanne conway, who will help him moderate this talk.
6:03 am
one biggest item in mccarthy's plan is securing the border. gop plans to end catch and release and reinstate remain in mexico policy and finish the border wall if they regain majority. democrats are having to confront the border issue all over again because of migrants being sent to sanctuary cities, they are pushing back on this agenda. >> does anyone really take the house republican conference seriously in terms of ideas at this point in time? it is phony, fake and fraudulent, they have not put forward a single legitimate idea over the last 20 months or so. i'm not concerned with anything they are going to present because the american people will see through it clearly. >> the gop just raised the stakes, welcome to the final sprint before the november election.

west and the president missed a massive opportunity to clearly signal if putin were to take this step, this massive escalatory step that nato would respond very forcefully and sending that clear signal gives us best chance of deterring nuclear escalation. time and time again this administration talks itself out of taking steps to give ukraine what is necessary to win. they are delaying attack-ems, it is fear of provocation that is actually causing putin to go further and further. i was disappointed the president didn't take advantage of the forum he had at the un. there is war and broader commodity war where he is leveraging energy weapons against europe and trying to control black sea and the grain trade, that will escalate going forward we need coherent energy
