a lot of republicans did a great job. i need to get to the bill that you're proposing, senator hawley. it would allow states and other working-class issues to deport illegal immigrants from the country? the supreme court said in arizona in the u.s. that errors on them may have had understandable frustrations but the state may not be first in policies that undermine federal law. how do we get around the court's ruling here and their traditional view a federal matter? >> yeah, so this bill would change federal law and the supreme court ruled that way about ten years ago, 15 years ago based on federal law. my bill would change it and say if joe biden isn't going to enforce immigration laws, why don't we let the states enforce immigration laws? the state of texas would come a state of arizona, they love to enforce the immigration laws. let's let them do it and secure the border. let's let them deport them don't like illegal immigrants. they could enforce federal law,

traction and votes. he's losing support. if that race has a lot more momentum and is better suited for the republican at this moment. things could change. however, in gubernatorial race, when the primaries where first over, there was only four-point separating the two men josh shapiro and doug mas -- doug mastriano. it's gone in the opposite direction for the state senator. it's gone forward for the sitting attorney general. >> laura: with total crime up a total of 8% in pennsylvania, it's become a top campaign issues to voters such as this one, watch. >> i think there needs to be a crackdown on crime. i think crimes going to be a very big issue in this race.

if again, the liberal approach does not seem to be working. >> laura: i believe there were two more murders in philly to today. is this the kind of issue that can break late for the republican because when i think of extreme, the crime in this country is extreme. the school propaganda on sexual identity is extreme. the price increases in the winter on energy are extreme. by the democrats vulnerable even at this gubernatorial level with these numbers coming in? >> absolutely. what i see is candidates who are doing a better job and i will say right now that's schapiro. they are out in small places, suburbs, cities, towns, back roads talking and listening to voters about the issues. that really resonates when a
