8:19 am
taking the children and the migrants across the border, but also the drugs they bring income of the most dangerous the fentanyl themselves which is number one leading killer in the youngest generation in the united states, and i do fault the administration. they are complicit and with this and the government of mexico is doing nothing in response, because all of the money iming . and the chinese are behind this too with their precursors coming in mexico making this stuff to kill americans. and for them great foreign policy, right? the chinese make money and they kill americans in the process. it's like a reverse opium war situation. it has got to stop, and with our commitment to america we will stop this. >> harris: congressman, it does have to stop. we are outnumbered and they are coming through with weapons and stealing them when they get here.

>> harris: president biden's climates are john kerry is praising the inflation reduction act for how it will help fight climate change, not for how it may help americans who cannot make ends meet right now. john kerry said this, we are running around saying "i support the ira, that that's tricky in politics, but here we are, and i am not sure how much it has to do with inflation, but that's okay." that is not okay. it's called the inflation reduction act. the president has defended that. power panel, chairman of the american conservative union david carlucci, former democratic new york state senator. matt, i will come to you first. what about reaction? >> yes, this is a problem for the biden administration is that

these economic woes top the list of every poll that voters care about. and their signature issue on this inflation -- whatever they call it, reduction act is really a climate bill. nn is about subsidizing green energy that will make inflation worse. and they don't really have an answer to these core questions of what we do about energy prices, especially as we had to winter? what do we do about inflation? what do we do about food prices? what do we do about this economy that seems to not be approving? >> harris: david, look, is calling, saying that this does not have anything to do with inflation, it was about climate change, so we will settle that and move on. i am curious to know what do you think stands out? what is your favorite as a democrat, biden climate policy, what is selling it? >> there is a bunch. >> harris: pick one. >> it's not just climate. climate we could talk about, but let's talk about counting the

out-of-pocket health care -- >> harris: no, we will talk climate, that's what we are going to talk about, because that's where we are focused. the climate czars says that this is all about the climate, this bill. and all of that is -- so what do you like about it? because right now we have some of the lowest reserves in this country which is why the gas prices are going right back up. >> well, this law, the inflation reduction act does do something to fight against inflation. i not seen report saying that it will have a negative effect. >> harris: no, the cpl said it has zero effect. zero effect until 2031, when it has maybe a little. but they did not say which direction. >> well, we know that there is very little that congress, the president can do to impact inflation. however the president and the democrats in congress have pulled out -- have left no stops pulled out. they are doing everything they can. so when we talk about climate,

this is a significant investment in our fight against climate change and our economy. when we look at the legislation, it is requiring that the investments and renewable energy are coming from products that have to be made in america, and in locations that have been underserved for years. so this is going to make a dramatic effect on climates, but also our economy. >> harris: okay. no one sees that inflation part but you, not even john kerry. moving on. >> and we talk about naming a bill -- >> harris: house speaker nancy pelosi is the latest democrat to dodge a question about whether president biden should run for reelection in 2024. nancy pelosi now joining a growing list of democrats who been ducking the question. and at least two lawmakers outright said that he should not run again. the president on sunday said it's too early to make a decision, matt. >> yeah, jill biden duct the question too.
8:54 am
this is a really interesting question, harris. because you are going into this election which is right around the corner, and a nanosecond after that election, this question is does donald trump announce his run for the presidency, does someone else? and what does joe biden do? he has to have the answer. if joe biden does not run, then the question goes to kamala harris who has very irregular polling and does not seem to perform well on the stump. is that going to be the standard? a lot of people like me would like to see that. or will there be a shift? will they take the diversity pick up a vice president to move her off to the side and go grab someone like gavin newsom? it is an amazing political story to see unfolding. >> harris: it's interesting to see you put it like that. david, a few seconds left and you say what? >> democrats have a very big tent, and because if you democratic elected officials have not committed to supporting joe biden or saying someone else should run, i think he means very little. the fact is that --

>> harris: who could run, that is the question now? >> oh, i think it could be a candidate we don't even talk about right now. we have something like 774 days until the 2024 election, so we have some time. a lot can happen. but i think what is important that if biden keeps delivering, he will be in good position to get reelected in '24. >> harris: good to see yount c both.
