about. the other piece we talked about earlier in the show, we had a fantastic guest from the federalist who wrote an article about how as we all predicted mexico is becoming destabilized and really turning into a narco state, and taking over the government. really cooperating and coordinating coordinating with them. pete: operative in the entire discussion is overwhelmed. every single aspect, overwhelmed, communities, morgues, border patrol agents. it is becoming, it has been, but increasingly a big midterm issue. it has been. democrats are trying to shift the topic away from real world issues into not that roe v. wade is not a real world issue but into that issue and election deniers are everywhere and january 6 as opposed to inflation, crime and the border but two sound bites that caught our eye. interesting places on interesting topics indicating, they know, these democrats know the border is a huge issue and

4:10 am
saying that. he is on the gal lot in november. the midterms are coming. open borders are unpopular inside of texas. he needs independents to win that election this is campaign talk. campaign talk in the last 50 days is very revealing about where people's sentiment is on an issue. if he were to become governor he would fall in line with any democrat prerogative. the voters of texas should know that. him saying that looking at the cross tabs, the focus groups, saying this policy isn't working. who is not popular? obviously joe biden. you don't throw your own president under the bus politically speaking unless you think it is politically advantageous for you. this guy doesn't have a non-political bone in his body. this is about the midterm elections. these guys have not changed their minds at all. rachel: this one from the fake hispanic, wanna be hispanic beto o'rourke he is saying joe biden

4:12 am
pete: that is the problem. rachel: you wonder will people make that differentiation will that come to light. pete: i'm not sure inside a democrat primary that matters. rachel: he will be the candidate is my guess. will: i don't think, you could look like chris hemsworth if you run california into the ground i think you're a dead man politically. i'm into the saying that he won't win the democratic primary. pete: unless you think i had courage to bring short term pain because we're progressive. will: california is a mess. pete: i'm agreeing with you. people are leaving the state within droves. will: that is the texas tribune festival. rachel: his in-laws moved out of his own state. they didn't want to be with him. our country just voted for a man who was experiencing dementia and locked in a basement so i'm saying gavin newsom looks a heck
4:13 am
lot better than that. there is going to be that to contend with. i think we should be realistic about the fact he looks very presidential and sounds good even though he is absolutely crazy. pete: rachel, you're right, there will be impulse to go with someone with energy, who will fight after what you've got with biden. what is that look on your face? will: i don't know. i have, i understand, i do. i understand your analysis. i do think the american people would be able to see through and -- pete: american people, yes. democrat primary voters whether or not he would be the candidate. will: i'm not arguing that. rachel: say one thing before we move on. this is what i will say, this is very important to what we're talking about, 50% of americans, there is a poll about it, actually 60% of americans, didn't know we were energy independent under donald trump when the 2016 election. so you can have, you can win every debate, if you're opponents don't show up. when you're canceled off of,
