people who may actually be enimadged in criminal behavior. it also, the law allows the people who were accused to file a civil suit. sue the people who made the phone calls, and this could also incentivize some people who might engage, you know, in menacing behavior that would intimidate people that are already afraid of them if they call the police, then they would get sued. >> brian: so, for example, your concern and it's justified, i believe. so, for example, if you are walking by and see a white man assaulting or auto white man black man assaulting a white woman. >> i'm going to call. if this doesn't turn out right, i don't want to get prosecuted for being a racist or being a karen by assuming some ethnic stereotypes, correct? >> but, alsoics sometimes there are people that will just will

they told us this story. and then i heard father adams about how you and the sisters, you know, you hunkered down. you stayed through the storm tell us how bad it got at the church and the convent. >> well, at 11:30, mr. he is pier ron zoo shouted for us in the window and we could see the sand from the beach from the gulf of mexico coming over the island and into our driveway and for the next next four hours unl the water crested over the monastery hall. when the generator went out we knew we were in trouble. because we stayed in the path. the buildings are very sound and secure. the devastation is total with regards to the interior of all our buildings. buff we came out unscathed really, when you consider the devastation of so many of our

neighbors whose houses literally came off their foundations. they must have four or five houses on the church property and god knows if there was anybody inside them. >> steve: sister mary frances, i would imagine as ian was coming ashore, you and your fellow nuns were there, cloistered nuns were in your convent. that was a night of prayer like you probably never had before. >> well, we didn't stay up tuesday night. but wednesday we watched through the windows as father said. we saw the water rising and i couldn't believe when it came over our 8-foot wall. it was unbelievable. and we had no idea of the devastation under us until afterwards can. >> steve: so, father adams, what are you going to do? >> well, thank god we had two men that came over from

hollywood, florida to rescue us and got us off the island and what we're doing now is just waiting. no one is allowed back on fort myers beach because they are going from row to row with cadaver dogs doing a search and rescue for people who survived and for dead bodies. i know i have had some of my daily parishioners come to the monastery who are already reported of missing. >> steve: terrible. absolutely terrible. so, joanne, you heard, you and your husband mark heard about the plight of the nuns and invited them into your home. i would imagine the naples community is trying to do the same. you found a place for the ladies to live, radio it? >> yes. there is a place out maria use the home for the sisters until we figure out what is the next
