strategy there a mime carley shimkus. the average gallon of gas in the united states picking up $0.30 and that is not good for you are the democratic party desperately trying to win elections is november appearance of the president will release 10 million more barrels from our strategic petroleum reserve just one day after his press secretary said he would not. >> todd: may be kevin corke gives to the bottom of this and he is live in washington with more, kevin. >> so much to get to, now, the white house is accusing opec of saddling up to russia. in the precious, they are hurting the global economy by rg oil production as currently mentioned. they are ignoring the presidents police by cutting 2 million barrels of oil production a day. the president says he plans to release more oil for the strategic reserves here in the states upwards of 10 million barrels in november.
1:02 am
however, that is just a drop in the bucket, say critics because the u.s. uses 20 million barrels of petroleum every day. and the u.s. oil and gas association practically incandescent. they say this, "opec says no, options all but gone, the strategic petroleum reserve. the white house has one option left and it is the one option they should never have turned away from in the first place. the u.s.-based oil gas industry." life comes at you pretty fast. in the meantime the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded continues to inch upward appeared now sitting at $3$3.80 a gallon. the white house blaming opec as you can imagine from the latest round of pain at the pump at capitol hill, they say the real plan belongs at the other end of pennsylvania avenue.
1:03 am
west virginia senator joe manchin today's announcement from opec+ confirms why the united states must be energy independent and energy secure so we cannot be intimidated by foreign adversaries. we have been blessed with abundance of domestic energy resources, which we can produce cleaner than elsewhere in the world. with that, we have the ability to ensure independence and security for ourselves and our allies. white house press secretary karine jean-pierre says the saudis are creating the real problem. >> what does this do for the u.s. relations with saudi arabia? >> shortsighted decision. it is on its own purported self interest out opec+ made the decision. so what is clear opec+ is aligning with russia with today's announcement. >> t>> there you have it after 0
1:04 am
days of declining at the pump, president biden has a real dilemma. they can shift energy policies at home or face the wrath of voters just a few weeks from now is the midterms loom. >> carley: absolutely pure direction on capitol hill was so interesting. this proves we need to be energy independent and every democrat outside of joe manchin says this proves to increase our dependence on green energy, which is exactly the thinking that got us here in the first place. kevin corke, thank you so much for joining us. >> you bet. >> carley: blasting democrats green energy agenda at the expense of the american worker. watch this. >> suicide that we are seeing by western nations all again, this utopia they think is right around the corner but instead killing and crushing the citizens. the big question mark going into winter is how to keep everybody warm. how to get heat and electricity. we are watching this at going to

have the same path. here is that thing, we are blessed and we have this under a feat at this moment. but stop for a moment and if you think some kind of green utopia, at least be smart about it. it is 20 years away, 30 years away if even possible at all. >> todd: let's bring on rob henneke, we have been talking about this so far this morning in general terms. let's get down to brass tacks. let's get down to two specifics, how much worse will the pain at the pump be for the average american because of these opec carts? >> todd, good morning, thank you for having me. >> todd: sure. >> i went to bed and gas $3.80 a gallon and now it is $3.86 a gallon. biden is causing a depression with the people. a recent survey says 65% of americans feel stressful about rising prices. and here just recently, there was a study more than half of
1:06 am
young likely voters are pessimistic about the future. they feel that they will have a lower standard of living than their parents did. so clearly, this is having an impact. americans are feeling it especially as we approach winter and americans have to worry just about the price of the pump, but also being able to pay for heating costs with the cold days ahead. >> carley: so there are a variety ways the president could have responded to the production cuts by opec. he could have scheduled a meeting with american energy producers and suppliers. he chose not to do that so far. reportedly the biden administration planning to scale down sanctions on venezuelan to allow chevron to assume its oil operations there. venezuelan, by the way rated among the world's dirtiest oil suppliers. so how is that a solution? >> todd: it is not to. it is a terrible reaction to
1:07 am
sanctions on the government of venezuela. the sanctions are there for a reason and terrible reaction by the administration to pump more money out of the strategic petroleum reserve. the safety net if america is shrinking. keep in mind a few months ago, president biden went directly to the middle east to have what he described face-to-face diplomacy in order to strengthen the strategic partnership. the fist bump with the saudi prince is clearly failed. and to push that government further away. >> todd: roberts, does anything tangible besides, harming our own national security? >> it's not going to. we will see the prices continue to rise. we will see american struggle. what needs to be done is we need to return to the energy independence that we had in the past administration with president trump. and really the only way that president biden can address
1:08 am
rising gas prices and national security vulnerability caused by this is to stop this war on the american oil and gas industry and to encourage our resources to be developed for the benefit of the american people. >> carley: how do you see this playing out politically with midterm elections just a month away now? >> i think the timing is intentional by opec knowing full well there is an important american election coming up here in the next month. just as voters are going to be going to the polls, they will be paying more at the pump to fill up their tanks in order to drive to vote. i think you will see that resonate with the frustration and anger by americans who are facing rising inflation cost, increased interest rates, dropping stock market analysis. i think the economy is going to be the issue and the timing of this will certainly be felt at the ballot box. >> todd: roberts, republicans are on the same page. it seems the press secretary or not.
1:09 am
listen, here is a jp yesterday. >> today's announcement is a reminder why it is so critical of the united states reduce reliance on foreign fossil fuels with inflation reduction act. >> todd: is it clear to you, roberts, they are all flailing on the left is because her messages all over the place because it's not a sustainable message? >> it's is not a sustainable message. in this administration wants to do everything but the one thing that would help. look at the policies from this presidency canceling this keystone pipeline and leases for offshore federal lands and part of the gas development and blocking permits for new development and exploration. you have, you know, the continued practice of the white house to call names against the saudi government. the reaction that that caused him above all of the focus needs

1:11 am
but as crews continue, for 24/7 door to door search for survivors, over 230,000 floridians are without power week after the hurricane hit. this is florida governor ron desantis preexist resident for coming together. >> we got a lot of work to do here but i will tell you, the spirit of the people of the estate in southwest florida has been phenomenal. we are not meeting with people that lost everything. they are thankful they had so many people they are supporting. and you only get there if it is a team effort. >> carley: now, many florida residents the painstaking process of cleaning out their flooded homes. meanwhile, president biden flemington natural disaster on human caused climate change, watch. >> the reservoirs out west or down to almost zero. we are in a situation the colorado river looks more like a stream. there is a lot going on. and i think the one thing that
