refuses -- refuses to acknowledge the crisis that is happening here and how it is affecting not only our border communities but our entire nation. >> dana: griff jenkins with a front row seat live at the border in eagle pass, texas. hi, griff. >> with no signs of slowing down. good morning, dana and dagen. the new ruling by a three-judge panel out of the 5th circuit court of appeals finding the obama administration lacked authority for the deferred action childhood arrivals but leaving in place protections for the 600,000 dreamers currently in the u.s. the practical impact. look at this video shot just hours ago just before dawn. you can see this group that arrived where i'm standing about 106 in total. another group behind them totaling 200 came as well. any childhood arrivals in this one cannot apply for a new application, meanwhile those that are already here can continue to renew their

applications for now. meanwhile, dana and dagen, the journey for migrants has never been more dangerous. take a look at this video. this is texas dps troopers pursuing a gravel hauler suspected of smuggling the driver bailed out and ran into the bush when truck went off the road. inside the trailer troopers found 17 migrants dangerously down in this gravel hauler. just prior to the stop another migrant had fallen out of the truck, got run over and had to be transported to a hospital. but that's not the only smuggling event that's happened in the past 48 hours. you can see here at the eagle pass south station border patrol agents finding another smuggling attempt they thwarted finding 20 migrants locked into a tow trailer. finding another smuggling event. it is rampant down here and interesting the center for immigration studies has a report out today saying that they have been tracking mexican cartels

focusing on abortion because he is so out of touch. he has an extreme view he voted for. abortion on demand for any reason at any time up to the moment of birth at taxpayer expense. the majority of americans want limits on abortion. i am pro-life. his extreme views are out of touch. so when we talk about him, he wants to distract from the realities of failed decisions hurting people every day. he voted for multiple measures that have caused crime to go up which have caused our inflation to surge, which have hurt hoosiers. they believe that they deserve better and believe that i will bring it to them. we're fired up over here and very excited. >> dana: you have asked for three debates with neutral moderators. what do you think you'll be able to do in getting him to debate you? >> well, ma'am, if you have nothing to say you aren't going to stand up and say it and that's what we've seen. we've thrown down the challenge and asked him and reminded him

omicron sub variants spread very easily transmit rapidly and crowd out other variants. no accident we've been with omicron for a year now. most likely will be where we're heading next. the vaccines we have and having gotten over prior covid especially recently provides a layer of immunity that causes you to have a less severe case and why we are trying to go on with our lives right now. as you know i'm pro-vaccine but i also am not pro fear or that message. of course there is always a possibility another variant will emerge. the fact that one emerged a year ago or the year before doesn't translate to another one coming now. omicron spreads very easily and will out compete other variants most likely. >> dagen: dr. fauci was on a not number one late night talk show. i think it was last night trying to yuck it up i guess. you know, put a shine on his image as he exits this job.

but his communication all along with the american people during the pandemic and even after that, getting defensive essentially saying if you disagree with me you disagree with signs. if you attack me, you attack science. has that hurt people's willingness to go out and say get a booster shot? >> yes, dagen, it's very well said. it is called dogma. see a great scientist but seems to be talking down to people. lockdown, mask, vaccine. he was very excited about the vaccine initially and i did interviews with him about this. i think it's led to a lack of compliance and i think vaccine fatigue and vaccine hesitancy. what we really need and i've said it for months now. we need the shots in the doctor's office. somebody comes to see me in my exam room i go watts that, that's the vaccine. i heard it can cause this and

that and i say here is what my experience is with other patients and the benefit and why i would give it to you. they say i didn't do that well with the last vaccine. i say it's your choice. that kind of conversation is what we need. not some politician standing at a podium lecturing you. >> dagen: are we in for a tough flu season? i know there is some concern about that after two years of a mild flu season. people have been following covid protocols but how do you see the just regular old flu playing out and will people step up and get their flu shots? >> i have that flu shot in my office and having that conversation every day. australia had a bad flu season. the shot matched the strain. australia, their winter is our summer. we know that and we expect a bad flu season. it is already pretty high activity in texas and the

district of columbia. it hit kids pretty hard in australia. i'm recommending the flu shot. again, let's message this properly because it decreases your risk of being hospitalized especially if you are in an at-risk group. someone who is pregnant and at high risk. i have this conversation with any office every day. yes, i'm recommending the flu shot and now is a good time to get it. >> dagen: should people get a covid booster and flu shot at the same time or stagger them? >> that's a psychological issue. medically i don't think there is a problem. we see a lot of side effects from the covid boosters. fatigue and sore arms. i don't want that. in terms of health risks it's absolutely fine. most of my patients are taking them scat

someone will come forward. laura engel with more on the story. >> good morning. investigators are hoping new surveillance video released when week will bring them one step closer the tracking down the person or people they believe are responsible for a string of violent and random murders in northern california. take a close look. this video shows the image of a person of interest walking near one of the murder scenes. police are asking the public to take a very close look at this clip to see if any one recognizes the person's gait and posture which the police say is a noticeable characteristic. >> we notice an unsteady gait. not a pattern that most people have. we don't know if it's an ankle injury or just how the person strides. we find it to be a little out of the ordinary. >> in addition to the release of the video, the stock ton police task force announced a significant reward of $125,000
