the end you can see how far it goes down. >> and they are going to put another 10 million barrels and this also, look, this is reminiscent of the days in the 1970s and the 1980s and 1990s and even 2000s of every opec meeting was surrounded with drama and world, you know, looking at this thing for financial markets and the economy and gasoline prices because they had the power. they actually had oil embargoes, that's why we had the reserve in the first place to guard against that sort of thing. saudis gave us the back of their hand, helped russia. we are now turning to venezuela and iran, we are still trying to make a deal in iran, which goes against all the interests of the gulf states and israel. venezuela is a communist country. we are doing about, a little less than 12 million barrels a

day right now, sandra. pre-pandemic, during the trump years, the peak was a little over 13 million, so we are, a million and a quarter short and we were scheduled to hit 14 million barrels by 2022, on the way to 15 million barrels by next year. if we had kept that schedule, allowed the permits and the pipelines and the keystone xl and all the rest of it that the bidens have stopped, we would still have the power of the world energy market. and make no mistake about it, those who control fossil fuels control. that's still what drives the world economy. renewables. >> sandra: i was just discussing with david carlucci, the green energy folks say we are replacing fossil fuels with green energy, two completely different things and the transition is not ready, larry and the green energy is reliant on the fossil fuels.

>> yes, to a greater extent, you are exactly right about that. one of the great flaws -- apart from their unscientific scare tactics and so forth, never provided, the greenies, alternative structure to replace fossil fuels, never shown us that and still running in terms of total power about 5% maybe of the total. fossil fuels still running about 80% of the total and that is true worldwide. all these hundreds of billions of dollars of spending and investment tax credits have not moved the meter at all, okay. has not changed a thing at all. >> still the white house has declined our invitation, they are always welcome. brian deese advises the president on the economy, he said this in a gaggle today. american consumers are paying significantly less for gas at the pump than a month ago, two months ago, and that reflects some of the progress that we have in the immediate term. i could not wait to get your

the state that required applicants to submit social media accounts and ban legal gun licensed owners, and a long list of public and private locations. the judge wrote, and i quote, instead of moving toward becoming a shall issue jurisdiction, it's a shall not issue jurisdiction and further reduced first class constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense. the judge's decision did away with many conditions the new law required, among rejebted part of the law at that show evidence they are of good moral character. also struck down the part of the law that demanded applicants list all recent social media accounts. rejected banning guns from stadiums and mass transit, also tossed out the weapons ban that made it illegal to carry a weapon in times square. he lets down restrictions at areas under the control of local, state and the federal

comcast business. powering possibilities. ™ >> sandra: a new controversy centered on the secret service. vice president kamala harris involved in a minor car crash earlier this week. the agency initially described it as a "mechanical failure" but turns out that was not the case. gillian turner has more from washington.

what exactly happened with the vice president? >> so, sandra, a motorcade that was delivering her to the white house had an accident monday while travelling on a roadway that was completely shut down to all pedestrian traffic. that accident is now bringing up new concerns about the secret service past problems hiding the truth about its errors. on monday evening, a new tiktok emerged, you can see the motorcade blocking the tunnel as they try to reach the vice president. the video it appears was taken from a building nearby overlooking the scene. the secret service is now acknowledging their story about what actually happened changed. they tell us in a statement "initial radio traffic indicated this was a mechanical failure and communicated to agency leadership by personnel supporting the motorcade movement." however, after the protective movement was completed leadership was updated with additional pertinent facts the vehicle struck a curb.

this correction came only after two sources revealed to the washington post that agents had misrepresented intentionally what happened. only then did the service come clean internally and with the public. harris's office says the vice president sustained no injuries and appreciates the quick response by her usss detail to get her to the white house safely. as you mentioned in recent years, the secret service has covered up events like in 2015 when a senior agent drove after drinking on to white house grounds and interfered with a bomb investigation. and 2014 an armed man jumped the white house fence and got deep inside the actual white house and before that, in 2011, a shooter attempted to approach president obama directly. critics of the agency, including law enforcement here in washington on both sides of the aisle are insisting it is pastime to reform the secret service to bring the organization more in compliance with the current way of

interesting when the texts came out from elon musk as part of the lawsuit over his purchase. it showed one of his big interests in purchasing twitter is to restore freedom of speech in the west and he saw how twitter was being used to attack freedom of speech, to undermine freedom of expression. interesting to see which groups have come out against that. chinese communist government through voices like this, and prominent people on the left in the united states who are worried that twitter might be a vehicle for people to freely express themselves, and what a threat freedom of speech is to some regimes. >> and you talk about the media handling things, venezuela, the possibility of maybe, you know, easing sanctions on venezuela so chevron can pump more oil. can you imagine president trump going to saudi arabia and begging for oil and then working with venezuela. >> we were told that donald trump was bringing us so close
