we are awaiting the september jobs report and that will provide on the federal reserve's next move. >> brian: jacqui heinrich is live in washington. jacqui? >> yeah, inflation still around 40 year ohio. the strategic oil reserves sitting around 40-year low and this is all after the president, by the way, tried to sell them to bring down spiking gasoline prices and today we are going to get the september jobs report. it is expected to be softer than people hope for and all of this is happening as research is showing that americans saw the most severe wage cut, pay cut in 25 years under this president. the dallas federal reserve bank, they write: we find a majority of employed workers real inflation adjusted wages have failed to keep up with inflation in the past year. for these workers, the median decline in real wages is a little more than 8.5%. and with gas prices on the rise.

todayens average for a gallon of regular sitting at 3.89. there is concern that the reduction cut it send fuel costs soaring. the white house says they are looking at options to rein in opec's control over energy prices including legislation and also other foreign sources of oil. for now, the white house is hoping that the impact doesn't come to worse case scenario. >> i fully speculate as you all know the difference between the headline of what the opec members announced yesterday with respect to their quotas and the actual impact on production is something that we'll have to see in the market and certainly the impact on production will be significantly lower than that. >> but today the president is headed to hagerstown, maryland to deliver remarks on natural manufacturing day. is he going to say it could all be worse if the g.o.p. wins in the midterms. we got a preview of his remarks. he plans to say republican also worsen inflation, raise costs for families. and give tax breaks to the wealthy. he will be making that case

after the jobs report will likely show softened growth in september as the federal reserve rate hikes take effect. economists are projecting the lowest monthly increase since december of 2020. guys? >> will: all right. jacqui, thank you so much for that can you imagine attempting to win a midterm election with this combination of factors? last i saw was it august inflation 8%? i don't know that we have yet seen the numbers for september. we will get jobs numbers for september. i believe in the course of this show. so within the next two hours or. so so, inflation and now looking at rising gas prices. because of the saudi arabiaen cut off global supply and oil. where are we today? i think it's up 3.89 today. jacqui just had in her report. 3.89 today that's up. >> ainsley: up from last week. >> will: california, new york, way more. inflation, gas prices. you have got a horrible

combination. you have got a stock market tanking. >> ainsley: crime. >> will: i'm just focused on in on crime and southern border. you have a real bad cocktail for success in the midterm election. >> brian: right. so far we also watched gas prices that the president was bragging about and brought it back quicker and faster in history now going up. 3.86 yesterday, 3.89 today. 3.49 a year ago. that was also high. since the cutback with oil and gas it's going to raise prices on everybody's driving as well as the heating and cooling in your house. you now have a situation where the president has got to act. is he going to reignite the oil and gas industry in venezuela with the infrastructure has been rotted out because brutal, horrible regime that tortures their people. communists have allowed russia to come in. iran and china. yet, we are going to reignite relations with them, perhaps. are we going to go to iran and say here, take this deal, stop building nukes for a few more years, and allow your oil to flood the market about a million

barrels a day minimum. or, are we going to take the oil and gas companies and saying you are no longer to allowed to sell it ocompanies. you can't do that you will destroy our country. we can't do that you can't ban exports of oil and gas or dot response cybil thing enough with the agenda in order for our country to have security we are going to start offshore drilling and going to start opening up federal land and streamlining the permitting process to allow this to happen right away. just those signals will allow those prices to come down. that would be leadership. >> ainsley: it's just frustrating the timing of all of this. day one he shut down the keystone pipeline and we don't have an alternative. we can't buy electric cars. most people can't afford them if you can even find them or buy them. then we are not energy independent anymore. so we have to go over to saudi arabia and fist bump with the leaders of saudi arabia. then he has to beg opec plus not to shut down production. they don't listen to him.

then, we are talking about maybe going and begging venezuela. all of this was preventable if he had not shut down keystone. if he wants to shut down keystone, which many of you disagree with, he should have done it after we had alternatives so we don't have to go to these other countries that are anti-american countries and beg them for oil. senator john barrasso, the senate g.o.p. conference chair says biden is giving fist bumps and they are giving him the finger. listener. >> that's what joe biden went after by attacking american energy day number one in office with killing keystone and stopping oil and gas leasing? it's why joe biden had to go to saudi arabia in the first place this summer. well, he gave them the fist bump and yesterday they gave him 9 finger. and i will tell you this is our opportunity for american energy. that is the answer on all of this. but, right now, we have a president who is very weak abroad and at home and he has brought it to himself because of his policies.

weapons in war with ukraine. jack keane joins us now. general, are you concerned as the president seems to be? >> well, i think you have to take the threat seriously. the one thing we know for a fact is putin wants us to think he would use nuclear weapons. that's certainly the implication that's been going on sips the beginning of this war. the reality is that if he did use a nuclear weapon, i don't see how the united states and nato would not respond to that and i will take the administration at face value when they have said publicly to us that they have told putin and his thugs that if they did such a thing. they shared those with the russians. i don't think they have to share that with us. take it at face value they are doing that have an effective

deterrence and that's what they are trying to establish here. you have to have two things. one is the capability. and we have the capability to deliver not a nuclear weapon in kind. certainly we do that but we wouldn't do that we wouldn't put our troops in there we would conduct a compressive air and missile attack that would take down the russian military inside ukraine. after all. we know all is. and certainly we could deal with that so putin knows we have the capability. does he believe the president is the issue foe have deterrence have have the capability and will to use it and i'm hoping that they have -- with conviction and determination, have convinced the russians that, yes, we would pull the trigger. and what does that mean? it means that putin loses. he loses his russian army in ukraine. and he knows that and certainly his military generals know that.

>> brian: "the washington post" has a story today that vladimir putin's inner circle has voiced disagreement directly to the russian president recent weeks over handling of war in ukraine and sharpest criticism yet. important enough to get in the president's daily brief which is unbelievable that we know this. but your thoughts about the stability of vladimir putin? >> well, first of all, what putin has done, i think because of the fear of losing, he has taken on operational roles in terms of managing the war, something he wasn't doing at the beginning. this struck a cord with me. because that's what actually hit in the last year and he mismanaged the war. so much so the frustration of his generals and another assassination attempt. but the fact is that i'm not surprised in the least that suddenly there is disagreement with putin and suddenly someone has the gumption to put it on the table with him. we don't know if that story is

after the election of donald trump in 2016 one of the most powerful things to happen to our country and to me was the christian conversion of rapper kanye west and i want to underwrite he went all in not to live a life of privilege in order to protect his image, what a shot of adrenaline for the home team. you see, when someone never thought was the type of person who would go in that direction, not only goes full pro-life. not only is willing to wear white lives matter. not only willing to wear a donald trump maga hat in the oval office. it shakes the whole -- the foundations of a lot of people who never thought this type of person would have that view. and it totally like plates changed political views. i know for me it just made me think man, we can reach so many more people with this powerful movement that believes in freedom. and if kanye west believes it. imagine how many more people out there maybe aren't talking about it but would like to.
