fall with octoberpest. i can -- octoberfest. i can almost set my clock to the show, it's a good old time. will: it's a fun time. sausages, mustard, sauerkraut. rachel: i think rick's still going, it's a theme from yesterday, right? [laughter] pete: yeah. rick and and will and i did some extra extracurricular team building after the show, we celebrated and watched texas mow down oklahoma. will: yes, we did. pete: and we mowed down just a few adult beverages, but we got to know each other just a little bit better. will: which means we might have gotten a little bit of a head start on the competition for later today where we're going to have a stein-holding competition pete: does that mean we hold it -- will: i have been to germany for octoberfest, and that's what you do.

rachel: are you going to be a beer maid? pete: maybe. [laughter] will: how many, if that's case -- rachel: my arms are -- pete: i think we're going to see who can hold the glass up the longest maybe? if. will: really? if. pete: no one's given us information. rachel: well, i'm going to tell you someone who could beat us all when it comes to drinking, and that would be hunter biden. i tried to have a transition -- pete: trump doesn't drink, but -- rachel: no, i went with hunter. always lead with hunter. [laughter] all right. well, that's right, because donald trump, former president, was at a rally, and this is what he had to say about hunter biden and some of the investigations supposedly going after hunter biden. >> now they're leaking that they may actually be charging hunter biden with very minor charges relative to the crimes that he apparently committed, and i, look, we don't want bad stuff to
6:03 am
happen, but they're leaking that a couple of minor charges, a couple of minor charges relatively compared to the kind of charges that they could be. and that's up to them. but are they actually going to do the right thing and hold the bidens accountable, or is this just a charade and an excuse to continue targeting me and and our movement of make america great again and america first? if i don't know. will: you hear donald trump laying out a theory that has been described, for what it's worth, as conspiratorial. maybe the justice department is trying to lay down a predicate of, quote-unquote, fairness to disavow themselves of this idea they're a partisan enterprise. maybe the justice department is doing this so they can then in turn pursue is donald trump. well, here's politico laying it
6:04 am
out in exact terms, the headline reads as follows: if hunter biden gets indicted, there's an upside for joe. inside he writes, but even if the case against hunter isn't as conclusive as the anonymous agents tell "the washington post" it is, then the president should -- after shaking off the natural parental gloom, which, by the way, is a wonderful little parenthetical -- [laughter] allow himself a moment to celebrate the political gain he stands to reap in the wake of hunter biden's criminal justice misfortune. an indictment would demonstrate the integrity of the justice department. rachel: laying it out. pete: yeah. eventually, they get around to admitting what we have been saying or others have been saying that is we're told it's conspiratorial to begin with. the amount of charges that hunter biden should face is staggering. international, felony-type charges. it appears what they're choosing to prosecute, based on leaks, are things that stay only with hunter and don't go to joe,
6:05 am
which could be used as an opportunity to clean the slate. it also, by the way, could be a predicate for getting rid of joe as a candidate in 2024. rachel: i've heard that tierly as well. the bottom line is that this whole entire story really is about joe biden and is joe biden the big guy who's getting 10% of hunter biden's dirty deals, of jim biden, his brother's, dirty deals with some of our worst -- with our worst enemies, right? china, russia and even a lot of the corruption that we now know is, you know, in ukraine of so these are very serious matters. , you know, if joe biden was getting this money, he's compromised, he's a national security threat. we knew all of this before he was elected, and now it's really hard to ignore now that everyone has had to admit that the laptop is real, that it was suppressed by the fbi. what's interesting here too is the lengths that the biden administration right now is going to try and kind of keep,
6:06 am
keep this, these investigations under wraps, keep the media coverage under wraps. they've now, there are now two employees at the white house, one who's the deputy counsel to the president now. he's getting $155,000 a year and, basically, his job -- and the other, by the way, is ian sands, also a special assistant to the president. we're being told that their job is basically to run interference on these stories -- pete: according to "the washington post." that's not, i mean, "the washington post" is saying these two guys, effectively, their job is to deal with hunter, and they get paid a lot of our tax -- rachel: and make sure it doesn't go up to joe. it's interesting. think about how much, you know, money is going into protecting them. you know, they're a making all this money on the outside with our foreign enemies, and then they manage to get us to pay for the cover-up of all these stories and managing it. will: i wonder how successful these guys are. are they good at their jobs?
6:07 am
i'm curious. pete: we're about to find out. and it, it just stinks when justice is not justice. like, there may be a prosecution, but it feels like it's not. rachel: it's just never enough, right? they have the doj working for them, the fbi suppressing hunter's stories, the secret service and now two more employees. he's an expensive kid. pete: uh, yeah. rachel: for us. for us. [laughter] pete: for everybody. it's true. other news this morning as well starting with this, ye west threatening to go to war with jewish people on twitter. will: these shocking remarks come after he appears to imply diddy, a fellow rapper, was controlled by the jews on instagram. that account has been restricted. rachel: alexandria hoff joins us with more on this story. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. yeah, we wanted to make sure we confirmed all of this. the instagram restriction came first and appears to extend from a text exchange between ye and
6:08 am
sean diddy combs. the two have been disagreeing on ye's wearing of a white lives matter shifter last week. social media users and the american jewish committee called out as anti-semitic. instagram has taken down ye's post and temporarily restricted his ability to share and comment. from there ye took to twitter for the first time since 2020 where he called out mark zuckerberg writing, look at this, mark, how are you going to kick me off instagram? and then continued with another anti-jewish statement. the tweet has been deleted by the company for violating twitter's rules. with we reached out for confirmation of that, but the times of israel and the daily mail shared it. it read: i'm a bit sleepy tonight, but when i wake up, i'm going d the ef con 3 on jewish people. you guys are have toyed with me and trieded to blackball 9/11
6:09 am
who ever opposes your -- anyone who ever opposes your agenda. that was followed by, quote, who you think created cancel culture? and that second between does remain up. it's unclear how long ye's instagram will remain restricted. the american jewish committee wrote, quote: kanye west should figure out how to make a point without using anti-semitism. will, rachel, pete? will: thank you, alexandria. pete: unfortunate. will: pretty ugly. pete: it's ugly. we talked about it earlier about these betweens and saying of course they're going to put a target -- these tweets after what he said to tucker, but in this particular case, he brought the target. rachel: yeah. and then the question is should he be removed from instagram and who gets to decide that or facebook or whatever. and think that's the question not just about kanye, about everybody, you know? what are the standards, who sets the standards and how is social media being monitored.
6:10 am
will: and one could argue if you are really interested in exposing and diminishing racism or anti-semitism in the world, that you're better off knowing that it exists. and if we pursue a policy or a culture in the world where we constantly silence, censor and cancel, you don't know what exists underneath the surface. pete: good point. will: so to your point, rachel, condemnable sentiments from kanye west. what is the appropriate reaction in is censorship and silence the appropriate reaction to accomplish a world of less racism and anti-semitism? pete: i've often herald it said the answer to hate speech is more speech. speaking of what's acceptable and not, the army has made a decision that bases across america which have always been known, people know fort benning, fort bragging -- fort bragg, fort hood, they must be renamed.
6:11 am
we can't get enough recruits and we can't seem to win wars, but we've really got to rename these bases. a proposed plan of nine army posts to be renamed. fort benning, no more, now fort moore. i served there for years and was back there multiple times, never knew who general benning was. it was fort benning. fort bragg, fort rubbing arer, fort hood, i know a lot of our audience has spent a lot of time in and around these places which if my sob goes op on to -- my son goes on to serve, i'm going to say, hey, you going to fort benningsome he's going to say, no, fort me. i met world war ii guys, i was at fort hood, now it's i'm at fort gregg-adams. fort walker. haw you talking about? oh, fort bragg?
6:12 am
okay. that's not to defend the confederacy. that's not what any of this is about. connecting to our past. will it's the also a question as rachel pointed out this morning of our priorities and where where our military is focused not just in any given moment of history, but a pretty big one when we're talking about by our president's own words, what was it, nuclear armageddon? rachel: armageddon, yeah. will: that's the words of president joe biden. is you'd like to think that our priorities are aligned and in order, and what you have instead is the renaming of these military bases to this cost, by the way, to this devotion of resources, $21 million to rename these u.s. army bases. $62.5 million in the renaming effort. rachel: i think if you put that on a bill and you asked the american people to, you know, just poll them, do you think this is worth $62 million right now when our economy is tanking, when so many people are behind
6:13 am
on their electric bills and their utility bills, 20 million americans and parents don't know how to put food on the table, when we left millions, maybe billions of dollars worth of weapons in afghanistan to given with, not to mention the priceless lives that were left, this is the priority of secretary of defense lloyd austin at moment. when just yesterday or just this past week our president said we might be, you know, in a new nuclear situation with the soviet union. this is, it's outrageous. it's demoralizing. pete: he could not lead his way out of a paper bag. he's our secretary of defense. we're losing wars, we're embarrassed in afghanistan. he wasn't fired, nobody if underneath him was fired for that debacle, and and now here we are not just renaming bases, but we can't even fill the ranks. here are the shortfalls in recruiting in our military as well. the u.s. army fell 15,000 soldiers short of their recruiting goal.
6:14 am
that's a division that they can't staff with new privates. rachel: wow. pete: the national guard lost 7500 service members not to mention people pushed out because of covid vaccine. now, the navy, marine corps and air force, usually they're way ahead of their goal even when the year begins because they've already got recruits stacked to come in for that fiscal year. the marine corps has only meant 30% of the goal, air force and navy 10%. so they're behind the recruiting goals for next year, and somehow sending them to fort liberty instead of fort bragg is going to solve our problems. will: you know, we talked about this earlier in the show, what could contribute to this. you both forwarded the idea that, look, it's an extension of go woke, go broke. the type of individuals who want to go into the united states military aren't the type of individuals who want that to be like every other aspect of society. i wonder if it's part of just delaying adulthood. people don't can be get jobs as early as they did, move out of homes as early as they did.
6:15 am
there's something else. you know what makes us unique is that we have an all-volunteer military. what that means is you have to have a population of people dedicated to the belief in the united states of america. they say i love this and this is worth sacrifice. and that's why this is concerning to me. if there are fewer people willing to sign up, is that not by extension saying right now we have not just a deficit of military members, we have a deficit of patriotism. pete: you are right over the target. rachel: of course we do. you tell kids from the moment they enter school that their country is bad, of course they're not going to learn to -- we've talked about before, pete, in parenting. you know, you don't, initially your child's experience with you is their, you know, they need to love you and be bonded to you first. and then as they get older and and hay go into high school and ledge and beyond, they start to see your flaws, right, and they can start to analyze what's good and what's bad and what mom and
6:16 am
dad did well, but the first step is love and bonding to the parent. and it's the same thing with a country. from preschool all the way through high school kids are being told that this is a terrible, racist country, and no wonder our recruitment is down. pete: it is a national security threat. that's why our education system is the root are the cause, if you want to, of that national security threat. you don't have patriots, you're not going to have privates. your just not concern you're just not. otherwise they can go to community college, get another trade, another skill, do something else honorable when military has totally lots its way. it's scary. will: did you make that up? that was a good line. pete: if i did make that up. once i said patriots, i didn't know where i was going next. rachel: it's especially impressive given your evening last night. pete: i peel great.
