1:00 am
it is so frustrating the media goes on with it. we are out of time. i know you have a strong view but the media are so corrupt. thank you for watching. never miss a show and we will see you next sunday when "the across ukraine >> set to meet with his security cancel days after the humiliating explosion that shut down a strategic bridge linking russia to its annexed territory.
1:01 am
calling it an act of terrorism. >> russian born former u.s. defense intel officer and she joins us now. quite a morning to have you on the program. did you expect this level of retaliation following the explosion of that bridge? >> 100% i expected it. based on the attacks in russian territory to be met with forceful retaliation. just because the rest of the world does not acknowledge crimea as russian the putin regime do consider it russian territory and the same with the four annexed territories. and so he will not stop to hear, he will only escalate and our own president joe biden she has recently warned us about the possibility of nuclear armageddon which is where we are heading right now.
1:02 am
>> ukrainian president zelenskyy said this, they are trying to destroy us and wipe us off the face of the earth. there are missiles hitting it, unfortunately are wounded and dead. do not leave shelters, take care of yourselves and loved ones. let's hold on and be strong. does it shock you at all that the security council was supposed to meet with putin a couple of hours after this was supposed to happen. that's what was supposed to happen. but you have the top propagandist with the kremlin, he was demanding a show force. but breaking their plans and striking unexpected blows and directions were the enemy is not expecting them, that seems to be exactly what happened this morning. >> carley: this is exactly biden's playbook. what biden has done is a
1:03 am
diversion. the narrative about the security council meeting later in the day is a classic deception to achieve tactical surprise. this retaliation should have been expected, including by president biden and president zelenskyy. we do pray for ukrainian people. they need to brace. but what i want to mention here is that the washington establishment does not explain to the american people why it is that putin is fighting so hard. ukraine is part of the security perimeter for russia even though we don't recognize it. but it's the same thing as our monroe doctrine. imagine if russia or china try to approach canada or mexico, no sane military commander, at this
1:04 am
point many people question his sanity, we would not allow such things to happen and so neither does putin. it's an existential battle for him. going to do everything possible, going to switch to a different strategy coming forward to make sure that ukraine does not enter the western orbit of influence and especially nato, which he warned us many times. it's a redline for and he's not bluffing. >telling us this morning the russians are aiming at civilian targets in ukraine. that's why officials are stressing the need for more air defense systems. this attack is significant. the first time they've hit the city center of kyiv for a long time. they did little in the outskirts, they've gone for the heart of kyiv but we know this bridge was not only a link to transporting troops and surprise, this is beyond
1:05 am
embarrassing because this was believed to be a pet project of his. so taking all this into account and also adding to the fact that he's getting, putin that is, a lot of pressure from russian hard-liners, how much do you attribute to the hard-liner pressure, how much do you attribute to what you call putin's doctrine here? >> it's not just the hardlines, todd. the entire putin's establishment, his regime is behind it. remember, he spends two decades planning this. it's not just putin come he can't do it himself. the entire doctrine was developed by the general staff and my intelligence assessment is that putin is stretching strategies to what is called the new generation warfare where he's going to target exactly what he's targeting right now, the civilian infrastructure with cyberattacks, state warfare operations.
1:06 am
underwater strikes. just like what we saw with the nord stream. we have a piece on fox digital, it's called space armageddon. so things unfolded exactly how putin has planned and unfortunately our security apparatus, misdirected resources when they should have been paying to the russian threat. they were doing an investigation after investigation of former president trump. they themselves concocted instead of taking seriously in developing the a deterrent strategy and a de-escalation strategy. president biden at this point has no de-escalation strategy and that is very dangerous. potentially being dragged into another experimental project
1:07 am
like we just had in afghanistan. but we don't have 20 years because putin has nuclear weapons and he olds advantage advantage in tactical nuclear weapons 10-1. we have 200, the russians have 2,000 and he has practiced many times and how to use it. >> speaking of biden, putin, this whole idea of nuclear war, president biden ward of nuclear armageddon, putin not joking when he talks about potential use of tactical nuclear weapons, biological, chemical weapons. i do not think there's any such thing as the ability to easily use a tactical nuclear weapon and not end up with armageddon. when people heard this people started thinking this could be a possibility with what happened this morning. what do you make of those comments? >> president biden is 100% correct. he has finally acknowledged that he has brought us on the brink
1:08 am
of nuclear armageddon. but i want to clarify the nuclear strikes are not expected on u.s. homeland. he does not tell need to scare theamerican peopl. that would be reckless. there are several steps right now with what the russians have developed, the escalation dominance. the escalation ladder. as you mentioned, nonkinetic strikes, cyber intrusions, they are expected including on the homeland. but it depends on what we do. if we decide to de-escalate, sit down at the table, and actually make sure that zelenskyy does talk to putin about how to end this conflict, end the suffering of the ukrainian people, and how to avoid putting american and european civilians structures
1:09 am
into the crosshairs of putin, there is a possibility to the escalade but there is going to be an adult in the room right now, just like we had one back during the cuban missile crisis who's going to tell everyone to knock it off, get to the table and stop this war. >> be sure to read rebecca's book, important now more than ever. rebecca koffler, thank you very much. president biden facing a lot of backlash for that nuclear army armageddon comment. mike pompeo urging to take the comment more seriously. >> they demonstrate one of the greatest foreign policy failures, the failure to deter vladimir putin the way the trump administration did. as a random thought, that is a terrible risk to the american people if he truly believes that you've got to be out talking to
1:10 am
us in a serious way. >> biden allies defending biden's right to raise the risk of nuclear conflict, msnbc coordinator john kirby said it's not based on any new intel on putin's plan. >> overreacting that the stakes are very high right now. comments are not based on new or fresh intelligence or new indications that mr. putin has made a decision to use nuclear weapons. quite frankly we don't have any indication that he has. >> todd: added that the u.s. is not seen anything from the kremlin that would prompt a change to our own posture. >> carley: let's get to another fox news alert. national gas average sitting at $6.91 per gallon with no relief in sight as the energy administration predicts prices will continue to go up. >> that didn't stop president biden taking a weekend getaway. members of his own party are calling for new blood ahead of
1:11 am
the midterms. alexandria hoff has more on that live. >> right before the president left the area this week and hugh pointed finger at saudi arabia and opec for slashing oil production. the state fired back saying that american refinery production is to blame or lack thereof at $3.91 per gallon, 60% higher now than when president biden took office. while the chief officer for alliance told "face the nation" predicts that it'll come down to 8% as the price consumer indexes released this week. core inflation is likely on the rise. it'll all be coming up to push members of the media into moments like this. listen. >> i think the economic headwinds are so tough and biden doesn't have the umph, he can't really make his case, i do not think the democrats are in any
1:12 am
better place. >> odinga -- >> while i think inflation is a worldwide phenomenon, i'm open to the fact that we have to make decisions here in the united states. democrats are in power, in the house and senate. i have been very vocal including my own leadership in the house that we need a new generation, we need new blood period. i think the country has been saying that. >> republican congressman tom emmer feels the country has been prioritizing issues that simple democrats have simply not. >> crime is a huge issue. cost of living huge issue. every voter they are trying to tell, look at this other issue, they won't address the most important issues, the economy, crime, the border, those are the issues that matter. >> republican still have to convince voters they are the
1:13 am
ones to solve those issues. the midterms are 28 weeks away. >> thanks, alexandria. mark levin says democrats are pushing voters to their breaking point. listen to this. >> what's going on here fundamentally, the democrat policies are working. this is what they want. they want a poor america, they want a degrowth movement, they are anticapitalism, they are pro-economic socialism and they have been for about half a century. they are centralizing decision-making in their own hands. but politically it's a nonstarter. so they have to lie about it. rather than celebrating it, they have to lie about it. they will blame you, big oil, they'll blame whatever they have to blame. they'll talk about price gouging when there isn't price gouging. they create the very scenario that they are criticizing.
1:14 am
>> fox news poll found foreign policy better than the democrats. >> the grieving mother of that man right there, you can see him in red, speaking out this morning, didn't learn of her father's death from police. a neighbor who spoke to reporters, telling the new york press "they failed us." he has no criminal record. he worked. this is why mayor adams needs to get there blank whips. you just don't treat us like that. the man who allegedly murdered charles moore being held without ball on murder charges. congressman lee zeldin says that the crime crisis is literally at his doorstep following a broad

daylight shooting. >> joins us with more and police say two men were shot on the long island home of gubernatorial nominee lee lee zeldin. his two 16-year-old daughters home alone doing their homework when they heard gunfire outside their front door. the bullets landing 30 feet away as the girls locked themselves in the bathroom and called 911. >> it's really close to home when it shows up on your front doorstep. i'm so grateful that my daughters responded as quickly, as swiftly as they did. >> authorities say three teenagers were walking down the street where someone in an suv opened fire. two of them shot before taken fire under lee zeldin's front porch. vocal on new york soft on crime policies saying they are contributing to the spiral crime crisis, but he says that it's past the point of politics. listen.
1:16 am
>> as far as standing here talking about politics, i didn't... i'm surprised that you or someone else might even look at it that way. at what point are we supposed to talk about the crime on our own streets? i'm standing in front of crime scene tape it for my own house but can give me more outraged then now. >> as we wait more details, i'm relieved to hear the lee zeldin family is safe and grateful for law enforcement officers and their quick response. this is the second high-profile incidence of violent crime to impact as eldon attacked giving a speechin upst. authorities believe the incident outside his home to be a gang-related and unrelated to the residents of the house. >> regardless connected or not it shows that crime knows no boundaries.
1:17 am
and house g.o.p. conference chair elise stefanik also reacting to the shooting outside lee zeldin's home. listen to this. >> lee and his wonderful wife marching in a columbus day parade in the bronx away from home in the two girls doing their homework on the first floor. we are glad the family is safe. but it is a crime crisis in new york state and shows up on your doorstep literally in the case of our republican gubernatorial candidate which is why we need to vote to turn out in the save new york by electing lee zeldin this november. >> we'll be joining "fox & friends" live 7:00 a.m. >> can't wait to hear that. >> is columbus day and statues are once again the target of protesters claiming columbus does not represent a racial justice. so many statues are covered in tarps and boxes stop protesters from defiling them any further and philadelphia, has been inside more of a box for two years as courts fight whether or not to remove it completely.

abortion message before election day. >> good morning, todd and ashley. two weeks until midterms, democrats dabbling down on the radical messaging as most americans struggle with the basics like filling their gas tanks, stacey abrams going as far as saying, no one really knows when the fetus is viable. >> the arbitrary favors of timelines ignore the medical timeline that's a fallacy that we know exactly when a pregnancy starts, in the term, and doctors will tell you that they need to make decisions based on the woman they are treating. >> arizona democrat candidate for governor katie hobbs appearing to support abortion up until birth in an interview refusing to answer what the cutoff should be to have an abortion. >> if an arizona voter would to conclude from your previous answer that you do not favor any
1:25 am
specific limit on abortion, would they be correct? >> i support leaving the direction between a woman that her doctor and leaving politicians entirely out of it. >> republicans continue to call out what they call "lies from the left" like abrams' assertion that the monitor that can sense a heart beat is an accurate. >> it's because the progress we've made in technology that a lot of the quite frankly the lies that we've heard from the democrats aren't holding up now whenever you look at the abortion debate. >> meanwhile a kamala harris attempting to tie abortion rights to our freedoms during a democrat fund raising event austin, texas. >> this is about freedom and liberty. at its core this is about freedom and liberty. and on every level.

up against johnson as well as democrat tina kotick, former speaker of oregon's house of representatives we are forgiven virginia governor glenn youngkin defending policy to join sports teams based on their biological sex. he says it's parents who should be in charge, not the state. >> by the way, children do not belong to the state, they belong to families. something i've been going to work on since day one. >> rewrote the policies for public schools in september. also for bidding students from changing their names or pronouns without parental consent. >> republican gubernatorial ticket will make sure that they

have a say in their child's curriculum and that kids are getting a quality education. massachusetts gubernatorial cabinet jeff diehl joins me live to discuss. thanks for being here. here are the key parts of your plan. expanding school choice, illuminating covert vaccine requirements for students and teachers, requiring parental informed consent, requiring an oversight office within the department of education. seems like all parents should support that. why doesn't even need to be put into a parental bill of rights in the first place? >> thanks, todd. we are down in massachusetts after covid, reading and math scores are way down and yet our schools seem to be more focused on crt type of education but my daughter had to watch a video last year to play a sport in which it was called "implicit bias" she was told she has an advantage on the athletic field and the classroom because she's white. parents are tired of this and moving their feed where you will

see double-digit enrollment in private schools and we see double up and homeschooling over the past few years. our bill of rights is going to give parents much more of a say with their kids and where they are going to school as well as what's in the classroom. >> does your opponent not support your ideals in your bill of rights? >> my opponent is morel healy who's been the attorney general for massachusetts for the last eight years. during covid you never stood up to the vaccine mandates which i'm fully against and she's never stood up for the kids or parents who tried to have the same with the school boards for that's why school board hearings instead of being shut down, we are going to make sure the curriculum is put online so parents can actually see it. >> we saw glenn youngkin win in virginia on the strength of his parental rights platform. virginia is a purpleish-bluish state. you are in massachusetts. massachusetts is real, real blue. do you think this can work there
1:37 am
as well? >> locomotive had republican governor for the last 24 or 32 years. even though we have a very left-leaning legislature, the people of massachusetts know that you need a firm voice to say no whenever the legislature gets out of control and they are completely out of control. we need to make sure that tax dollars follow kids and make sure kids are going not public school with their state tax dollar but private school and those funds can be used for homeschooling as well. >> in order to win make this race you'll have to get a lot of democrat votes. when you speak the democrats, specifically democrat parents, what do they tell you, jeff? >> they want their kids to be taught the basics. they want their kids to have all the opportunities possible based on a good education and not about indoctrination at the school level. there is curriculum right now for kids in first grade and second grade and third grade that is sexual preference material and parents don't want kids to see. i do not care what party you are
1:38 am
income a republican, democrat -- the independents lead with 60% of enrollment which i'm leaving 6% over my opponent with. the fact of the matter is no parent wants their kids to be getting inappropriate material at such a young age. >> is brought in this out beyond massachusetts. will parental rights be the deciding factor come november 8 or will issues like abortion, crime, education, crime economy, i should say, will win the day? >> i think pu biden's economy is really driving the discussion right now. massachusetts, jumping up 54% because the block to natural pipelines. that feeds manufacturing. leading our state, 50,000 people left massachusetts. one of the hyatt net loss migration patterns in the

big apple unprepared. eric adams now declaring a state of emergency over the few thousand migrants that have been bused to his city. >> we've just learned the man accused of stabbing and killing two people in las vegas is an illegal immigrant who already had a violent crime charge on his rap sheet but was able to avoid a four year sentence after the d.a. failed to bring the case in time. joining me now is shay sanna. we appreciate it. >> thank you for having me. >> tell us what happened here. what happened with these previous domestic violence charges in error. because of that era, these two people in vegas are dead. what went wrong? >> i was in the prosecutor assigned to the case at the time. but reviewing what i read about what happened, it appears it
1:46 am
wasn't a prosecutorial error. what happened was there was domestic violence charge brought in 2019 which was properly brought out it wasn't prosecuted probably because the defendant didn't show up to court. when he eventually showed up to court two years later in april of 2021, the prosecutor's assigned to the case were unable to bring the victims into court. usually the cases dismissed under the penal code, which it was in this case. and the reason was in a prosecutorial era, the defendant exercised his right to a speedy trial and was lent to a helping hand by george gascon because georgette kohn took away the only tool we had, go out and get the victim in force in the coming to court and testify against their abuser.
1:47 am
so it appears in this case -- >> go on. >> it appears in this case we are just left with hope being a victim who is abused, intimidated, threatened is going to come in on their own and testify against their abuser. and that's all we had to rely on. >> he was the man who was the accused of killing these two people on the vegas strip. he is charged with two counts of weadeadly weapon, we have theseo u.s. citizens who are now dead at the hands of allegedly in the legal immigrant or he claims to be an illegal immigrant. what with that process look like? the taxpayers are going to pay for his trial and then what? we continue to go pay for this? >> i just want to point out that i'm speaking on my own personal capacity and not on the behalf of the d.a.'s office. in this case... ... >> what do you think is going to
1:48 am
happen? >> i think you'll be convicted in nevada and he'll spend hopefully the rest of his life in prison. but he shouldn't have been here in the first place. he came to the country illegally, then he committed a crime of domestic violence when he should have been deported. but it appears he released from custody. california is a sanctuary city. but what does that mean? is sanctuary for criminals or sanctuary for law-abiding citizens? and the policies of george gascon and the other lawmakers in california are now spreading across the united states and into las vegas and they are paying the price for these bad policy decisions. everybody is going to pay. the taxpayers in the vada. >> makes you wonder the people voting for these liberal das, george gascon overcame a recall not too long ago, they don't know the repercussions of what
1:49 am
they are doing when they check that ballot box. we appreciate it. thank you. >> stacey abrams is one of many democrats who called to take money from police departments that shall never guess how much our campaign has spent on private security for her. >> it's a real lot. and school football team banned from honoring law enforcement with a thin blue line flag because some think it's too divisive. one player's mom proud her son is standing up for police. she joins us next.

1:55 am
movement, gun-control, and campaign against privatizing justice. the national vice president of the frat order of police respong to cori bush after she doubled down on her defense of the defund the police movement. watch. >> just imagine the audacity and arrogance of congresswoman bush to be pushing defund the police while he just experience our highest murder rate in 30 years last year. while she's advocating to defund the police, she maintains a private security force to make sure she is safe. she does not give a damn about our communities. her inflammatory rhetoric does nothing but divide communities and police officers. >> they blamed this for the 45% increase in police retirements and 25% increase in resignations all across the country. he added that applications to become a police officer are down 83% in chicago, and 90% in new jersey.
1:56 am
>> a school district has banned their high school football team from carrying the thin blue line flag onto the field after critics complained about its "divisive message." the team decided to carry the flag to honor officers who have saved wounded kids during a school shooting back in 2019. lexi hoch's is on the saugus football team. she joins me now. just to review for the audience at home, off-duty cops dropping off their children at home rushed in to save children who were wounded and prevented a tragedy from becoming an even bigger tragedy, a massacre, if you will. how did this happen? how does a school where kids' lives were literally saved by the people on the thin blue line arrive at this decision? >> unfortunately there was a person unrelated from our school who lives in a different area of our general community who was the original complainant. so it wasn't even a member of our saugus community that
1:57 am
complained originally. so i'm not even sure exactly how the district came up with the decision, or the saugus administration came up with the decision, without talking to parents. there was no discussion with the parents of the students on the football team. it was just a unilateral decision that they wouldn't be allowed to carry the flag. >> so you're saying there was no debate or discussion among the community. someone had a problem with it in your district caved, correct? >> absolutely. >> doesn't seem that more and more in america, especially in 2022, that the extremely vocal minority but a very tiny minority, at that, can sort of control the will of the majority just by, i don't know, making things public on twitter and social media and the like? >> absolutely. in the absence of social media, this never would have been an issue. however, again, an unrelated person to saugus made it an issue by calling all of santa clarita into question,
1:58 am
saying to call into saugus and tell them it's unacceptable. >> so what is the reaction in the community right now? >> the reaction is distaste and discussed for the fact that it's happening. at the game on friday it was an overwhelming majority in the stands with their blue line flags or t-shirts in support of our law enforcement. my son's grandparents, my parents, our retired l.a.p.d. therefore, we are very supportive of our local law enforcement. >> did the people who complain to make an argument as to why they are complaining? in this community specifically, boy, law enforcement really prevented something horrific from happening. they should be honored for that. >> the only complaint that was called into question was that it was divisive. that was the only complaint on the original call-out. it was divisive. and someone came back with, that
1:59 am
it's become a racist symbol. anything can become a racist symbol if you choose to make it that way. anything can become that. >> two of the left's favorite words, "divisive" and "racist." without any supporting evidence. let's talk about your son for a moment. oftentimes kids get lost in these adult discussions. he's one of the ones who decided to run on the field with the flag. seems like a smart young man who understands reality. what does he think about this controversy? >> he thinks it's ridiculous, personally, but he is respectful of the school's decision at this time. he likes to play football. he doesn't want anyone being "offended." he never thought anybody would have been offended. it was never an issue on the football team before somebody made it an issue on social media. for him, he thought he was doing the right thing, and being respectful and appreciating law enforcement in the community
2:00 am
as a whole. somebody took it way too fire. >> what does it tell the young people of america that, when they do the right thing, they get attacked? into such a horrible precedent to set and it explains a lot of the problems. lexi, thank you for coming on and letting us know about these issues. hopefully this resolves itself. we appreciate your time. with that, the next hour of "fox & friends first" begins right now. and we begin with the fox news alert. explosions rocking kyiv and other cities across ukraine. officials say eight people have killed, 24 others injured, in the capital city alone. you are watching "fox & friends first." >> putin is set to meet with his security council today, just days after that humiliating explexplosion shut down a bridge linking russia to its annexed territory of crimea. blaming kyiv for the attack and calling it a
