going on in georgia. democratic senator raphael warnock and republican challenger herschel walker faced off last night. was there first and likely only debate before election day. team fox news coverage, and discovering the president he is in portland, oregon with that visit. let's first let's go back down to georgia, atlanta. with the election week looks like to come. >> hey there eric, it was a while debate indeed. as you pointed out by the only one we are going to see between democratic senator raphael warnock and republican star athlete herschel walker. the fireworks were flying this bard over series including abortion, take a listen too. >> it's too narrow and small and cramped space for a woman, her doctor, and united states government. >> he's a neat talker but did heat not mentioned there's a baby in that room as well?
1:02 pm
>> and the topic of election integrity walker acknowledge president biden legitimately won the 2020 election. senator warnock dodged but he would support the present if he seeks reelection in 2024. >> i've not spent a minute thinking about what politician should run for what in 2024. >> if you think about how 2020 for the president will turn 82 years old are you concerned about his physical and his mental fitness at that time in 30 seconds? >> the people of georgia hired me too represent them regardless of who was in the white house. >> similarly herschel walker was asked whether he would support former president trump if he were to run for a second term. walker said yes he would because he considers mr. trump a personal friend, eric. >> right jonathan thanks so much in atlanta, arthel but. >> eric and jonathan president

biden, he is in deep blue oregon today to promote his spending plan and tried to win over voters in a tight race for governor. dan springer is live in portland where the president just finished speaking. dan, what more can you tell us? what's arthel this speech today by president biden was all about the inflation reduction act. he did not mention tina at all by name he is still here shaking hands in friendly territory in portland. but biden's other goal today it was to fire up democratic base in this a blue state that he won by 16 points two years ago. but a lot has changed since then with out-of-control inflation and record high gas prices, biden's job approval in this state is just 43%. betty is in county where he won by 66 points in 2020. democrats need this county to show up big on november 8. biden is wrapping up a three state western swing he started in colorado. bad polling numbers have largely

kept him off the campaign trail with candidates. but here in oregon democrat tina at deciders worth the risk to bring him in. she is locked in a tight three-person race and polls show her trailing republican kristine drazen with well-funded independent candidate betsy johnson pulling more support than the raisin bread that has drazen feeling very confident these days but she thanks she can become the first republican elected governor in this state in 40 years. here's what she had to say about the biden visit today. >> it cannot possibly be true that president biden, who has very low approval ratings even in oregon is going to benefit tina in this race. i mean she is in a tough spot. >> she is in a tough spot. but she's getting a lot of money today because president biden is going to leave this event here in portland go to another location in the city before he heads back to the white house. he is going to be trying to

raise a lot of money for co- tech. in fact it's going to be at 10,000 dollars per person the bent bread that is what it cost to get a photo of him. he's hoping to raise money and be in a state that he won overwhelmingly two years ago. we will see if he can fire up the base enough to get over the finish line november 8 for arthel will send it back to you. >> exciting time that world of politics. dan thank you so much live in portland, oregon thank you. eric: you heard from dan president biden is taking on lowering costs for families at a commune dissenter in portland, oregon. that trip comes as inflation though has increased a bit more than expected in september. the consumer price index for the year ending last month was up eight-point to percent. medicine the fed began raising interest rates to try and fight off inflation. so, production say inflation will eventually go down, when will that be? fox news contributor formant chairman and ceo of ups america
1:06 pm
former economic adviser to president obama founder of cs eo 32 advisors joins us. first question, when is it going to be? they keep telling us inflation is going to go down when are we going to see that? >> eric, you and i've been talking about this for a while. we are going to continue to talk about it for a while. inflation is here for the receivable future for the differences we are seeing a shift of durable goods which we saw during the pandemic because of supply chains. so things such as furniture and home goods, and computers, those jacked up prices during the pandemic for those of come off dramatically. piercing the shift to the service sector which is what you are seeing increases in wages with respect to hospitality and leisure which we saw get crushed during the pandemic. i mean we have an issue. even though wages are going up, purchasing powers going down. inflation is definitely going to be here for a while. it's going to shift to the service sector.
1:07 pm
>> you think the inflation reduction act will actually result in what it is made for? >> yes the inflation reduction act is doing some great things. we should not underestimate that reducing healthcare costs and prescription drugs helps everybody. that is number one. number two, putting a tax charge of minimum 15% on corporations that make north of a billing shifting income overseas there should be a minimum tax. small business are paying more than that. we have always thought there should be a minimum tax and 15% is not. with that being said the positive we are seeing is i don't believe there's going to be a recession. i know we can challenge with the economic data is saying, two quarters in a row for this is the first time of a pandemic. the labor market is incredibly strong. we are seeing unemployment at the low end. we are seeing participation
1:08 pm
rates starting to creep upward receiving wages go up. then we saw consumer sentiment actually pretty strong. let's recall 70 plus% of our gdp is consumer driven. so i think there are some good things and there are some really tough things. before it had to square with what she means diamond he think stocks are going to go down 30% he said we are not in for a soft landing. what you say to those who think we will be entering a recession? >> i think the fed has been behind the curve and they are starting to catch up. i was very supportive of 75 basis points even maybe going to 1%. i've always been a fan of paul volker let them rest in peace. i started wall street during the reagan era. my view is you have to put a blunt instrument to really force the situation. what they did not do is they may have increased rates but they did not reduce their balance sheet fast enough. what we are seeing even though
1:09 pm
jamie has backpedaled on the recession comments what we are seeing with interest rates going up or seeing the housing market slowing down servicing all the sudden people starting to use their credit card again. as we said the purchasing power has gone down for every individual because the dollar is worth less each and every day when inflation is higher than wages. with all of that being said we are coming out of a pandemic much stronger then we went into the pandemic. the labor market is showing us that. wages are showing us that. i think away from the market i think the market is going to have some issues no question. the raising rate environment there are other opportunities outside the stock market. i think we are starting to see people take risk off and put it in -- were sync treasuries become somewhat attractive north of 4%. before i think gas prices were declining and then they started inching up in the last two we

weeks. how bad did the saudis hurt us with their decision? >> no, eric you and i will chat about this. we have a perfect storm. we have for the most part similar to the 1970s embargo. reducing the supply. we have another aspect about the persian gulf war for example what we're seeing in ukraine right now. we're see a post pandemic the demand for driving has increased dramatically all three of those things increase energy prices on a global basis. we are seeing all three take place at one time. i have never been predicting that we would see energy prices come off everything the presidents got that a lot of good things using strategic petroleum. that being said energy is a global market. what opec did cutting 2 million barrels is deafly going to hurt pricing as we go into winter.
1:11 pm
>> they went for their own pocketbook. winter is coming. >> as we would say they are our friend misa. [laughter] eric: some may say more enemy others would say more friends you are right. before i let you go i see behind you you have a bust of robert f kennedy. there appears to be relief from that martin luther king memorial in washington d.c. >> was named after robert my brothers john reported 6062 in boston. definitely robert kennedy has meant a lot throughout my whole life i grew up in the 60s. but martin luther king has done for us is incredible. muhammad ali is my favorite athlete of all time. >> i know you're not going to but that on ebay but i bet you get a lot for. >> i don't sell stuff but i like to show it. eric: robert wolf thanks so m much.

was a host of the jamie weinstein show podcast. right jamie we just chilled the percentages of early voting. we certainly do not want to discourage the undecided or independent voters from casting their important ballots for it however based on anecdotal research is it too late for canister sway sway support in the next few weeks? >> i do not think so at all. i mean yes, as you said it doesn't favor the democrats in terms of early voting at least by the polling. but these races, a lot of these races are so close. if there is a big showing for candidate on election date that could probably overcome some distance that is already taken place in early voting. i think a lot of these races are going be very, very close rethink early voting in terms of an election date will matter quite a bit. revivalists look at a couple of polls, georgia governors race pop it up please, democratic

challenger stacey abrams with 49% heard a republican incumbent governor brian kemp with 50%. not looking at georgia senate race republican challenger herschel walker was 52% democratic incumbent senator ralph warnock with 45%. so let me correct because herschel walker has 45 to be very clear herschel has 45 and senator warnock has 52. still it back to jamie at this juncture what's most effective way for candace to persuade undecided voters and what about the split tickets? >> well, that's a really good example of what might be a theme of this election. candidates matter. that is what we're seeing seeing the split ticket here. if you look at polls you see brian kemp has basically united the entire republican party behind them. 98% of republicans say they are supporting him. while herschel walker's only got
1:23 pm
90%. i knelt that along with on independence going for herschel walker's underperforming brian kemp. there is a clear difference in the quality of candidate between brian kemp on herschel walker. herschel walker has a ton of baggage in the last month we have seen is a fathered several children. he denies it now, sometime said it could have been true he may have paid for an abortion for a former girlfriend for these and the type of stories that are coming out about him. and that probably accounts for the discrepancy why it brian kemp running for governor as a republican is leading herschel walker looks like he is much further behind running as a republican for senate. arthel: meanwhile it seems of politicians are always campaigning. but does it also seem election cycles get shorter and shorter jamie meeting there's less demand for the candidates to work for the vote? they don't have to work for the

if a minister on migrants are spitting out of his abiding menstruation policy let's federal agents and illegal border crossers back to mexico but protest yesterday forced officials to briefly closing international bridge leading to texas. larger numbers of migrants from venezuela have been coming to the u.s. in recent months of fleeing the socialist regime there. it is leading to a search and

human smuggling. griffin jenkins is live in mexico with the very latest. >> hey arthel, good afternoon. at least one venezuelan man did not want to identify himself as being from venezuela because he discarded his passport on the banks of mexico here before crossing. we are between eagle pass on the other side and arthel i'm going to turn now to our sky drone km. you can see here there are crossings all day long. if we lift that drone up a little but you can see the international bridge between eagle pass. this is where, under this new addition if you will it's not a new policy it started under trump to expel migrants from mexico in the northern triangle. but now venezuelans have been added to that part on this bridge is where it happens. let me show you some video, take a look at this. the video we shot this morning of that actual exchange of
1:35 pm
venezuelan migrants from border patrol direct the into the control with the migrants are brought to the immigration office here and put on buses and sent over where you were talking about that protest happened with the venezuela very upset because it is news to them. it is a rude awakening because most of the ones that have gone before them from their country in recent months have been released after crossing britain we talked to a migrant if you venezuelans here's what they said when they crossed and found out the news, take a listen. >> unit venezuelans return to mexico now? no we did not know anything for they treat us badly in mexico. we have a no and there it is dangerous. >> meanwhile, just up the river we saw more migrants for this is video of about a dozen nicaraguans did cross with the smuggler. the smuggler just oblivious to us being there and filming. in fact i was able to speak with the smuggler a little bit pretty
1:36 pm
told me the border is order it's not closed as the administration suggested and it cost $500 to 1500 to cross and upwards of 10,000 to get taken to cities like san antonio or houston. one final note, arthel secretary dhs secretary told the dallas morning news that it's pretty much just a political ploy for his critics to say the border is open. that kind of rhetoric isn't music to smuggler's ears, arthur will send back to you. if either the fastening drone shot amazing. griff jenkins thank you very much. before texas authorities say human smugglers, some of them and gang members as well per there at the border recruited by social media. take a look at the video from the texas department of public safety. this when they say shows 18-year-old suspected smuggler trying to flee from officers during a high-speed chase. he eventually bails out and gets busted britt texas gps says 13

illegal immigrants were later found inside his truck. authorities say gang members are coming into our country illegally to look for locations where migrants and drugs can be brought in. the president of the national border counsel joins us now. first of all, brandon we just saw video of suspected smugglers as a griffith says they are oblivious to our cameras. it seems so overt and open, what is your reaction to that? >> one of the reasons this happens any time there in the river it's very, very difficult for us to go in and take these individuals into custody. if we do that they will just start throwing people into the river which then it becomes very, very dangerous for those individuals. so what we have to do is we have to let them come onto our banks and then take into custody at that point. they know exactly what they're doing. they know what they need to do to get their products whether that human beings, whether they know it's drugs in exactly what they need to do they know it or policies are in operate within
1:38 pm
those policies to exploit what our operations are pretty becomes a very dangerous situation for everyone involved. >> is a single suspect is one case britt and others a guy from indiana. charged with smuggling. he told authorities he gets $3000 per person that he is transporting in a truck. people coming with trucks to get paid to do this? >> absolutely. i'm back to piercing in arizona, texas these are two states we see the most in. we are seeing people being recruited and very urban areas with its phoenix, arizona, tucson and like you said as far as indiana. people are coming down to smuggle these individuals it's all based upon risk and reward. there is such a huge reward and smuggling in the risk is so low but even if we apprehend somebody the chance of them being prosecutors at the state prosecution like texas the chance of the u.s. attorney's office of prosecuting is very, very slim. now what i will say, eric i
1:39 pm
would warn the smugglers because once the cartels have you in their hands they will pay you an awful lot of money up front. once they have video on you now they own you. if you do not continue to smuggle for them they then turn the video over to the authorities for they might pay you off a lot up front. but later on down the road you are basically working for free britt anybody that's thinking about this, think twice because you will be owned by the cartel. or what you're saying is that cartels are reshot into merrick offering jobs to guys who have pickup trucks, tractor trailer trucks or boxer come down we will pay you $3000 ahead or m more. for you to drive migrants to other locations. once they do that like the mafia they got their hooks into you? >> that's exactly though it works. it does not make sense for all these individuals to start working for the cartels. because once you work for them they will own you and you will
1:40 pm
be working for basically free later on down the road unless you are willing to risk the u.s. attorney's office getting involved. eric: this awesome video posted on tiktok the dps does verify the video prints like a job ad wanted ad for truck drivers they're going to get paid like $70000 per this is unbelievable. and here is the ad. let me tell you folks, texas authorities claim this is a legitimate advertisement to lure people in, to hire them to drive migrants, brandon your reaction? >> it is legit. that is what we are seeing these cartels are extremely emboldened. when you look at that number $3000 per person that is just showing you how much the cartels are making. cartels are making billions and billions of dollars. what really upsets us is this could end tomorrow with the proper policies with proper operations and place it could end tomorrow but for some reason
1:41 pm
this white house just will not give us what is necessary to end all of this crisis is currently taking place. that is where law enforcement is very, very frustrated with this administration. if our don't work for a cartel that's a message from brandon judge pretty wouldn't think you have to tell people that. good to see you thank you. >> thank you eric. arthel: alright eric eric thank you for the department of justice files a new motion over the special master reviewing documents seized at former president trump's estate. you coming up. should be your style! plop plop fizz fizz, winter warriors with alka-seltzer plus cold & flu relief.
