>> what it is? mayhem and meltdowns in midair. why one passenger threw a water bottle during a fight with a flight attendant, and they were not thirsty while another passenger asked an airline for -- i can't even believe thi. >> but first, as fox news cameras capture dozens of people as they try to cross our border illegally into texas, one smuggler tells us the border is open for business. [speaking spanish] >> smugglers, migrants and many republican lawmakers say the border is open, but homeland security secretary alejandro mayorkas says the border is closed and secure. and in a new interview with the "dallas morning news", secretary mayorkas says, quote, the political cry that the border is open is music to the smugglers' ears because they take that political rhetoric and market it. but it seems voters trust republicans more than democrats to handle the border.

a new fox news poll out this morning show it is the gop has a 21-point lead over dems on the issue, and many republicans in congress are demanding that mayorkas resign after e-mails revealed the homeland security secretary knew there was no evidence border agents whipped haitian migrants and then hours later said the opposite at a news conference. i want to get into the details here, because there's this letter that was obtained by the heritage foundation, and it was from the department of homeland security assistant secretary for public affairs to secretary mayorkas. and it reads, quote: the photographer behind these images depicting border patrol agents on horseback told ktsm things are not exactly what they seem. the photographer said he and his colleagues never saw agents whipping anyone. so the homeland -- so mayorkas seize -- sees this e-mail, and then after that e-mail says

this: >> our entire nation saw horrifying images that do not reflect who we are. we know that those images painfully conjure up the worse elements of our nation's ongoing battle against systemic racism. >> tyrus, i'm going to go you first on one. >> okay. i asked for this story for a lot of reasons. first of all, mayorkas is not an honorable man, and he should be fired. he represents the worst and whenever you see anyone who represents that in law enforcement or security. he was -- the progressive movement at the time of this was simple, it was to defraud and bring down law enforcement, and they got what they thought was a jewel, a gem. they could show a picture deticketing law enforcement whipping people. black people. so it would send ripples across the country. he was given the information mowing that they did not do these things, but that was more important than the integrity of not just the four individuals on

those horses, but everyone who serves on that border, every law enforcement because it gets -- it's collateral damage. see, i told you that's what cops do. it goes across -- people don't bother to go, well, that's border patrol. that's police officers. he put their families in danger, he put them in danger. when someone is accused of something they didn't do and they have the president of the united states and the man who's supposed to be looking out for them basically saying they're part of this horrible systemic racism with no -- when they knew damn well that it was not happening, it was nothing like that, this man should have been fired. but i get it, he's not going to get fired, because our own president backed him up. but my thing is when we get the house, when we get the senate, this should be the first order of business. and to those -- if there is a lawyer out there anywhere, listen, i didn't go to law school, but this sounds like defamation to the highest level, to me, someone needs to come out

and actually sue this government for the way they at leasted these men and women on this border. -- they treated. you want to know what's going on at the border, ask is a smuggler. quote, it's wide open. shame on mayorkas, shame on you for what you did to those individuals and the people who are trying to take our country safe. >> and, charlie, you have said you think he needs to resign. >> absolutely. and i think it even goes beyond that because, you know, the border patrol agents aren't just cops, they're also sort of quasi-military. they're protecting our borders. it's attack on cops and the military. but it goes to show the level, the degree to which these people will politicize anything they think that they can take it to their advantage whether it's border security, whether it's the children and families that are making this trek to the border or whether it's race relations in this country. they will politicize absolutely

anything and divide people. and i think it's so amazing that clip you played with mayorkas talking about he's worried about the optics and how, you know, when people say that the border is open, it encourages more people to come which happens to be true. but instead of worrying about the optics, why don't you worry about the border? fix the border and the optics will fix themselves. they don't want to. they want the political issue. >> and, nicole, there's more to this because before that letter, before mayorkas made that statement the, he came forward and defended the agents and then turned around later and said this. >> and that's exactly right. so we need to lay out this timeline to really drive it home so people understand why this is so outlandish. yes, initially mayorkas came out and defended the agents, as he should as person who represents our border security. but then he gets the e-mail saying, by the way, in these photographs, there was no whipping scene whatsoever. hen president biden came forward and publicly said that these

people will pay. mayorkas was standing there, and he was silent. he said nothing. and hen a few hours later he said this, what we just said, it horrified us all. so what happened there? you had president biden come forth and say something, and because of that, that is how you know politics completely invaded this entire situation. and what did they do? they withheld the information from the american people, and they did that to push forth their systemic racism that they had been pushing down all of americans' throats but also to support their immigration or lack of immigration efforts. i mean, what have we seen at this point? now we have seen millions of illegal migrants coming across the border, they have done nothing about it. and now that it's at the top of the ballot at the midterms, they're scrambling. >> right. he completely played politics with this, and we know the border's insecure because we have our people down there every single day reporting on this. speaking of politics, now we have democrats who have all of a sudden decided to get in on the game and start talking about border security, right?

>> -- backyard. >> take a listen to what new york's governor, democrat kathy hochul, had to say. >> we really are looking for a federal response to this, to take ownership of a crisis, and we'll be this to help. but -- there to help. but this belongs to the federal government. >> and there's more because nancy pelosi on wednesday just said this, quote: what we must do the in our country is to have comprehensive immigration reform. we all know that we must secure our border, that's our responsibility as a country. tyrus, we are less than a month from midterms. >> yeah, of course, all of a sudden now. and then you have to add the follow-up question is what does reform mean to you other than just something good coto say. and real quick to go back, how is this -- that was a hoax by mayorkas. how is he did nircht than jussie smollett? there's no difference -- >> one affects three people, and the other affects millions. >> and to this thing, of course,

come to the table and fix this, you know, i cover congress for 15 years. i covered immigration for most of that time, and i can tell you one thing, one thing you can't hit republicans for, you can't hit republicans for not trying to fix this. they tried to fix this, and every time they would bring forth proposals to fix the problem at the border, they would get kill, of course, from both sides. and that is the biggest lie there is. and the reason republicans were never able to fix this problem is because people like dick durbin and nan key pelosi, chuck schumer, ted kennedy, they didn't want to fix the problem because it was such a great political issue for them. they wanted -- it's liking dilling the goose -- killing the goose that lays the golden egg. you don't want to fix the problem because then they don't have this wedge issue to, again, to divide people by race which is what they were doing. they didn't want to fix it because they were making. too much money off of it, and they were getting, making too

does that make sense? >> can you explain that? >> yes. our economy's strong as hell. inflation is worldwide -- [inaudible] >> and his administration is doubling down and trying to spin sky high flakes. >> the president -- high inflation. >> the president said this week that the economy is both strong as hell, but also if there is a recession, it'll be very slight. what exactly is the forecastsome. >> well, look, i mean, forecasting is by its nature something that is a little bit uncertain -- >> that's political spin. >> well, look, i don't think anybody could argue that, for example, our unemployment numbers are anything but strong as hell. >> and with biden's economy on the rocks, a new fox news poll shows if the 2020 election were to happen today, more than half of registered voters say they would vote for someone else as president. so, charlie, you know, the president says our economy is strong as hell -- [laughter] but, you know, we have a fox news poll that show in terms of

our national economic condition, 73% of americans actually think it's getting worse. and the president says though if republicans in congress get their way, prices will go up and inflation will go worse, get worse. apparently, it's that simple. so, charlie, we know there are two ways of combating inflation. you have the fed, they raise interest rates. we're seeing that. that, obviously, keeps the dollar strong, but it also hurts the world. so the president is correct when he says he worries for the world, because we are doing actions that will be hurting other poorer countries, but you can also look to congress because they can do some things to help with inflation. specifically, they can raise taxes and/or cut spending. >> right. >> so we mow the democrats are really -- can we know the democrats are really good at raising taxes. do you think this is how we're going to be combating it? >> i think we've seen how they're combating it, spending lots of money which nobody has ever said is going to tame

inflation. in fact, it makes it far worse. but as a political thing here, i have to stay that i think joe biden may be the worst politician that has ever breathed air or at least since the invention of television. if you're going to be flippant about people buying their medicine, paying their mortgage, buying their groceries, please don't be eating an ice cream cone while you're doing it. at least marie an twi innocent gave people cake -- >> well, she wasn't eating the cake -- >> it's kind of awkward. but, but, and then for him to sit this and talk about, oh, no, i'm concerned about the rest of the world. could somebody bring back make america great again? i'll go with maga. republicans should take that clip, make 535 ads of that, political ads, and run them in every single district and you would -- it would double the tsunami that we're having right now. this guy is so out of his depth, he's out of his mind and i don't

so let's talk about that. what is the economy to the average person out there? the economy is i'm going to the grocery store, this is what i need to afford. i'm not going to buy the home that i was going to buy because things have changed so much. it is what am i going to pay when i fill up my gas tank? it's the today to day life that they live, that's the economy, and that's what this party doesn't seem to be getting the message on, and they're telling people something that they're experiencing that is the complete opposite. >> well, and again, as we said earlier, voters know it's getting worse. new fox news poll says 73% of people say it's getting worth, so people aren't believing president biden when he says whatever he said. they're not buying it. and, tyrus, the president has said democrats have to remain in control because, good news, the inflation reduction act, it is coming to save everyone, and you're going to start seeing those savings come january. take a listen. >> the main parts of the bill

♪ i want it all, i want it all, i want it all -- ♪ and i want it now ♪ >> welcome back to "the big sun show." tomorrow the jury will get the case of the christopher steele dossier source who was charged as part of the ongoing durham probe into the russian collusion hoax. testimony revealed the fbi offered to pay christopher steele $1 million for information and even after the bureau couldn't verify the claims, the fbi still used the information to file for a fisa warrant. an fbi analyst also testified igor danchenko was on the fbi's payroll for years. now the ranking member of the house oversight committee says he plans to hold fbi leadership accountable. >> we have a huge problem with the fbi, and the fact is the american people have lost confidence in the fbi. it's been politicized for at least six years now, and it's going in the wrong direction. we don't need the leadership we have now. they should resign, they should be held accountable for

wrongdoing. >> now, i love the fact that we have republicans on the record now before the election that they're going to do something about this and hold these people accountable because we've got -- there's real rot in the fbi. but, nicole, and obviously the danchenko trial, there's no predicting what a jury's going to do. but what is the big picture sort of takeaway right now? >> you know, it's interesting. so danchenko's on trial, five counts, for lying to the fbi, essentially, and one of the counts were actually just dropped in the last couple of days. but if anybody is listening to why it got dropped, it just tells me what a circus this entire process is right now. so he essentially, he was charged for lying to the fbi because he said he never talked to a democratic -- to the democratic operative, charles dolan, who works for the clinton campaign. well, you're right, he didn't talk to charles dolan, but they sure did e-mail each other. but because he was being charged

with talking, he said he didn't talk to them, they said, well, technically he didn't talk to them, he mailed them, so we're dropping this charge. i mean, this is just beyond asinine for me, and i can't wrap my head around this. what i don't understand is this week you had do dolan actually testify, and he said i got my information from a gop operative, but the truth was they were just rumors, i actually heard it on cable news. [laughter] well, these rumors made it into the dossier which made it into the fisa warrant application. i mean, the whole system's just broken. >> exactly. and, again, the problem is you've always had liars in the world. the problem is the cops, the good guys, need to be able to differentiate between them and get the good information. avenue liberty shah, you know -- alicia, obviously, this is pretty damning, i think, for the fbi. do you have any faith that we might get progress? >> well, i don't, i don't know

about faith -- [laughter] >> very wise. >> i do know every single today there's a new detail that i think causes americans to really, you know, casts a shadow of doubt can on the role of the fbi that it plays in the united states now. it's supposed to be a law enforcement agency, but it's doing something much different now. it's become so political that people, i think, out there, they don't trust it anymore. we know lawmakers, and you bring up a really good point about midterms. if republicans take congress, if they're going to follow through on some of these promises that they're going to hold the fbi accountable. >> tyrus, whistleblower steve friend told dan bongino last night -- listen to this clip. >> the oath that we took when we became special agents does have meaning, and i've become fond of saying that the oath doesn't retire, it doesn't get suspended. the fbi's fidelity, bravery and integrity motto has to mean something to the individuals who are working on a day-to-day

basis, and i hope more will come forward. it's time to step up, it's time to really be the people that we were called to when we originally applied to become special agents of the finishing or bi. >> another thing that he said in that interview was that the fbi was using the arrests from the january 6th stuff and sort of padding their domestic terrorism numbers around the country to make it seem like domestic terrorism is worse than it really is. i mean, what, what do you do about this? >> well, like i said, again, it's not fbi, it's the people who decided a coup against the united states who happen to wear, wore the badge. but what he were doing, why they were doing it, they were trying to raise the numbers. you didn't need to raise numbers. you could have just looked at the rioting we saw, the the looting we saw, the crime stuff we're still having in the name of antifa or whatever left-wing outfit they're doing when they commit crime. those numbers were pretty, could pad themselves. but they needed them to be maga,

they needed them to be -- >> right. >> they forgot the individuals who go to work every today and complain in the right way. they needed january 6th to be bigger because, again, who has been a target in this whole thing? it's been president trump cannot run again. that's the oath that they took over the fbi. so, of course, we need to look like there's a maga attack in every city and all over country and it's running rampant and heir burning down cities and flags etc., but they're not doing that. whenever you do something illegal, whenever you're going to do a coup and take somebody out, you have to create it. and luckily, the american people have seen through this, and now, hopefully, the men and women who are responsible for this who decided to put their beliefs or their issues over the voters of the united states, over the government and over vow they took will be held accountable. there needs to be hearing, these people need to be brought to justice, and hopefully this is the beginning of it.

toss-up. it has been more than 15 years since new york has had a republican governor. here's zeldin on "sunday morning futures." >> new yorkers are leaving this country -- this state more than any other state across the entire country, and people want to save the state. they want to save new york city, and they're tired of having to wake up every morning and read all of the headlines of rising crime in their own neighborhood, places where they used to feel safe and walk the streets comfortably and now they're calling an uber just to go a couple blocks. >> charlie, let's start with the democrats on the campaign trail. they don't want the sitting president or vice president, they want the transportation secretary? >> yeah, that tells you -- that's a perfect encapsulation in a nutshell. it's no longer about democrat, republican, conservative or liberal or anything like that. democrats, obviously, have families that they have to feed. independents have to gas up. and it doesn't matter your skin color, your gender, your religious background or whatever, this misery affects

everybody pretty equally here. and this is the kind of -- and then you add into it something like crime which you're seeing in places like new york, and suddenly, you know, a state like new york which is as dyed blue as you can get becomes in play. and i think that we're going to find after november, we're going to find there are a lot of other states or areas that we never would have guessed that are in play are going to suddenly be in play. >> you bring up a good point. and, nicole, picking up on what charlie was talking about the, the crime issue, and we're also watching governor's race tighten in a way that i don't think republicans were expecting either. >> no, of course not. but these are the consequences of the democratic rhetoric, their lack of immigration policy, their soft on crime policies because it has led to complete lawlessness in our country. and zeldin is making a huge point in that he is promising to fire new york city's soft on crime d.a., he is saying this guy has to go. we have to prosecute and punish the people who, you know, commit

these criminal acts, be tougher on crime. he's been a victim of crime. it's happened to him individually, his children have been around, you know, shootings, one daughter landed 30 feet from a bullet. he sees it. and anyone who went terrified with the crime in our country, it just means you're in sub you are grab. -- suburbia. everyone's going to be affected by it. the first thing is to be tougher on crime, and that's what zeldinen promises to do, and voters are taking notice. >> let's move now to pennsylvania and the senate race there because former president obama recently said this about the democrat, john fetterman. take a listen. >> comes off as a regular guy. every once in a while he says something that is a little, you know, off script, and that's a good thing. that's a healthy hipping, right? -- thing, right? and i'm not suggesting that, yeah, every candidate has to be

so i am -- when i was over, let me -- when i was over 400 pounds, whenever i flew, i would buy a second seat. had to. because even my shoulders, you know, when i was girthier, i would take the over next seat next to me. that's unfair. now, i can be as fat as i want to be, but my fatness should not impede on somebody else's travel experience, okay? it's actually a rule. if your birth -- [laughter] hangs is -- 1 inch over into the next seat, you need to get a second seat. but because we live in woke world now -- [laughter] you can't tell somebody you're too big for just one seat even if it ruins -- to the point where she wanted reparations. not a refund, you understand?
