8. steve: the other evidences that anything of consequence they have to walk it back. we are out of time great to see you we will see you next sunday on "the next revolution" when that will b the economy is >> todd: that tone-deaf message, as both parties think democrats will get crushed in the midterms if they can't figure out the messaging on this issue. watch. >> they are furious with biden's
1:01 am
far left socialist agenda which led to increased spending, increased inflation. >> democrats should talk about the economy. they should contrast their views with the republican decision. >> they should be talking about how much things cost at the supermarket, the gas pump. if they talk about anything else, they are nuts. >> todd: alexandria hoff live in washington with the very latest. alexandria? >> you heard that last sound bite. they've been trying to talk about anything else. inflation is a top issue for midterm voters combined with recession concerns and the biden administration has had to come up with a sensitive response. >> it's possible but not inevitable and we are doing everything we can to strengthen the foundations of the american economy. retail sales, payload employment, industrial production, all of those have not been flashing red. all of those are not recessionary territory.
1:02 am
eco-there is 's vehicle there is now a 63% chance that recession will hit e next three months up from a 49% probability noted back in july. 21% of families cutting back on necessities. here is president biden's take on the state of the economy. >> i'm not concerned. concerned about the rest of the world. our economy is strong as hell. internally. inflation is worldwide. >> an explanation was needed because the rising value of the dollar has been widely blamed for fueling inflation worldwide so that was somewhat of a confusing answer. what about the inflation reduction act? take a listen. >> lots of americans are curious when the so-called inflation reduction act will start to bring down inflation. because of the many parts of the bill will start to take effect next year. for example, there are tax

credits or energy to help people weatherize their homes. we are focused on helping to make the transition in a way that brings down energy costs for families. >> with three quarters of americans cutting back on necessities, it's a hard time considered to buy new energy windows. >> todd: alexandria hoff thank you. why isn't this white house doing anything to solve inflation? it's because of the attitude they have about it. look at joe biden. "our economy is strong as hell." by what metrics, joe? everything is a disaster including everyone's 401(k). check out this for "the new york post" today. op"401(k)-leto." i go to the kids and say it, i'm

joking. but at the same time there are kids who are going to make horrible decisions when it comes to the retirement because their 401(k)s have tanked. >> since president biden took office, monthly savings have collapsed calling 82%. the average 401(k) plan had over $135,000 at the start of this year. today, those assets have shrunk on average to about $101,000. in other words, the average 401(k) plan is down about $34,000. more than 25% in less than one year. and you also have inflation outpacing pay. so even if you get a pay bump, you're ultimately taking less home because everything is so much more expensive and part of the biden messaging, the biden administration's messaging and, in the inflation reduction act there are tax cuts to winterize your home. i don't think it's going to make
1:05 am
many americans happy at the end of the day. >> todd: what's joe biden doing? eating an ice-cream cone looking like an idiot. the point is that biden experience, the ice cream come and the sound bite committed to get the republicans trying to craft those final campaign commercials going into november. as bad as he is been so far during his two years in office, that was in the sound bite and visual make him look even worse and that's against the republicans. >> carley: you look at these prices, the price increases month-to-month. we always get these numbers and they paint a perfect chair. an unfortunate picture. diesel fuel up 9.1%. residential, natural gas 2.6%. eggs are up .7%. fresh and dried vegetables up 16%, parked up by .5%. president biden says on the campaign trail he's not going to build the economy from the top down from the middle out and that's his way saying that he wants to help low income folks
1:06 am
the most. at the same time, how do you explain things like passing student loan bailouts is free money to the richest among us which will increase inflation and affect the poorest people the negative way. poll after poll american people trust republicans more to handle the economy and inflation. todd: the only reason people are in disbelief or denial is because the jobs numbers are still strong. we are seeing cracks in the foundation, jobs are going to be going away. the jobless rate is going to be going up may be at that point is a administration will realize we are in a recession. >> carley: i know that you hate/love this when the president says other countries are faring better than the united states because you say who cares about other countries? germany, italy, u.k., but canada and france and japan are not. nobody cares what's going on in
1:07 am
germany, italy, or the u.k. here in the united states and one of the reasons those countries's inflation numbers are so higher is because the world economy is dictated by what's going on in united states. >> todd: this is a ridiculous point he consistently makes in addition to the ice cream. jury deliberations set to complete ours now in the trial of the russian national, egret and >> moreon what we can expect. >> the jury will deliberate on the standing charges after closing statements hours from now as a federal judge dismisses one of the five charges of making false statements to the fbi. told the fbi he never talked to a democratic p.r. executive who contributed information to the debunk steele dossier. his legal team 's statement was true.

the trial also uncovering revelations in the fbi's alleged payments to informants. a group of agents reportedly met with christopher steele early october 2016 about his dossier which we now contain salacious allegations about donald trump and members of his 2016 campaign. during questioning, the fbi offered him $1 million to corroborate the dossier's allegations against former president trump, but steele could not do so. the fbi paid danchenko over $200,000 to serve as a confidential source from 2017 to late 2020. carter page who served as a cia operational contact and fbi informant claims he was never paid by the bureau. "i rest my life countless times this country around the world and was never paid 1 penny by the cia, fbi, or any of the u.s. intelligence agencies that i loyally served for many years." was the target of a fisa warrant
1:09 am
that debunks dossier served as the basis of the application and its renewals for g.o.p. congressman james comer says it keeps looking worse by the fbi. >> the fact is the american people have lost confidence in the fbi. it's going in the wrong direction every day another report comes out that's more damaging to the fbi. >> danchenko has pleaded not guilty to all charges. >> carley: thank you. let's bring in former fbi agent and navy seal jonathan gilliam. gogood morning to you. this danchenko trial could be the last case prosecuted by john durham. what's the big picture take away from all of this? >> i want to show you something really quick, taking a bit from what we've seen on election time. i want you to look good versus bad behavior. want to focus on who the behavior benefits, if there is a

positive or negative outcome of it. if you look at anyone, you look at durham, what you see is the lying to the fbi. a couple of things coming out, durham is just another part of this doj because he works for this doj. is he being pressured by the doj to mitigate this or less in these charges and get rid of this thing, or is this a crime for help saying this is all i can do. these accusations, was there any transparency? can you track this behavior back to any specific person or groups of people and is there positive or negative outcome for the things that he did, danchenko himself, or any other people

involved? constantly and consistently expresses back the dnc, the biden, the clinton, to anything not trump that is pushed on the left. it also presses back to the doj and the fbi, people who actually praise danchenko after investigating him back in 20094 up intentionally being a spy for russia. and by the way, fiona hill, the person that testified against trump during the ridiculous impeachment trial about a phone call to ukraine, she is the one who introduced danchenko to christopher steele in 2010. that's very interesting when you look at the totality of all these things. >> todd: a lot of detail there as jonathan c gilliam goes carl t rowe when you reference john durham, did you think that by now that there would've been more to come out of the durham investigation?
1:12 am
let's face it. he's been at this for years. he needs to be measured in years and it doesn't seem like we have a whole heck of a lot. >> investigations typically when you look at them, they are looking for who this benefits, right? you typically want a law enforcement agency that's not associated with the people being investigated. and when you look at the overall, the breadth and width of this investigation, many people from the doj have been involved with this on the wrong side the entire time. i believe durham was the wrong person for this investigation. it should've been somebody completely out of the doj, quite honestly, if you want honest reporting and you can go back to the fact that the information, the dossier was falsely used to get a fisa to spy on american citizens. that tells you the doj should not of been involved with this at all to begin with.
1:13 am
when you look at the totality again, the totality of circumstances, we see an investigation that does more to protect those people who have done wrong than it does to convict the people who have done wrong. >> carley: speaking of totality, jonathan, we do talk to you a lot about how a lot of the americans have lost faith in the fbi in their varying opinions on how to get back on track. how do you see it? >> i think they are absolutely correct. when you just look at danchenko, rank-and-file people who say he was doing good while the executive said he was actually trustworthy and cooperative. when you also look back in danchenko supposedly disappeared in 2011, he never left the country. that was a mistake by the fbi that he just disappeared. that same individual who works for a left-leaning brookings institute when he was being investigated later becomes

basically a source for the fbi to verify with the information he gave him which never happens. when you put all that together with fake evidence, the mar-a-lago investigation, the same way it came out, only 370 of those had nothing to do with it, how could the american people trust the fbi further? >> carley: thank you so much for joining us. an update on a tragic crime sorry, catching the moment of a wounded bristol police officer shoots and kills a man who just murdered two other officers. watch.
